Read about this the other day. Brightest supernova that we've discovered.

Every now and then, I'll go outside my apartment and look up, and try to begin to wrap my brain around the fact that it doesn't end.

In a way, we're basically looking at infinity.

Answer 2 must change somewhat since the Big Bang theory was essentially considered false.

As far as I know the Big Bang Theory is still considered the most widely accepted theory about how the Universe began. There are a number of other theories out there and some scientists refute it due to the laws of physics being broken in the theory, but I still think its the most widely accepted theory in the scientific community, it definitely has not been proven false.

But in reality, no one knows for sure.

The violent impact with a “planetary embryo” called Theia occurred approximately 100 million years after the Earth formed, UCLA geochemists and colleagues report.

This has long been the leading theory of how the Moon was formed, but now scientists say they have new evidence supporting the theory further.

Somewhat related: how do you guys feel about the Earth being flat becoming a thing again?

A rapper and Neil deGrasse Tyson have been battling about it recently. At least that's what I've gathered from my social media feeds...

I'm probably never going to be in a space shuttle to see for myself, so I'll trust the scientists who are infinitely smarter then me. If they're lying to us, whatever, great job. Chalk it up as one of those things that's not worth worrying about.

I know sometimes when I think about space and the universe or a movie like Instellar, it can make my head spin. I could see wanting to go with an "easier" explanation. Whatever makes ya happy.

The flat Earth thing is downright hilarious. If anyone has any doubts this should clear them up.

A few months ago I released an experiment video explaining how Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the Earth using the shadow of sticks. The method was performed almost two millenia ago, and produced quite accurate results (considering the ‘equipment’ used). But it was far from being the only (or first) method to understand our planet’s …

Why would the earth being flat come back? Talk about a conspiracy theory.

Some rapper was spewing the Earth is flat thing on twitter. Neal deGrasse Tyson got into it with him trying to show him proof that its round but he kept going on about it.

Why would anyone listen to a rapper outside of his song? He should stick to what he knows.

Here's an article about it but you seem to have already known about it but like you said it's all theory and no one really knows.

(Phys.org) —The universe may have existed forever, according to a new model that applies quantum correction terms to complement Einstein's theory of general relativity. The model may also account for dark matter and dark energy, resolving multiple problems at once.

Anybody here ever played Kerbal Space Program? It'll help you understand orbital mechanics pretty quickly.....but that could really hurt you if you ever watch movies about space.
