cheers, that wasn't what I was expecting. I remember I think a Rogan podcast where there was a date of declassification people were waiting for regarding this stuff.

That was cool although there is plenty of other military footage/experiences of UFO's so them simply admitting it isn't really a big deal imo. There is a lot of audio/transcripts of pilots also as they are experiencing things like that. So while the admission of ufo or uap may hold gravity for some, it's not that big of a deal to me and I laugh at their uneasiness with the semantics. UFO vs UAP ... like who cares it's the same thing lol

So next month, the Pentagon will release declassified UFO/UAP documents, photos and videos. They will basically say they have no idea what these things are and now believe they are a threat to national security.

Former head of the top secret UFO program at the Pentagon, Luis Alizondo says it's an intelligence failure on the level of 9/11.

This is getting interesting. The one sticking point he mentioned is that even through all the sightings, it's the speed and maneuvers these craft are able to pull off. That shows one of two things, according to former British Ministry of Defense Secretary Nick Pope, that another country has made a unimaginable technological breakthrough, or we are dealing with something not of this Earth. Both are equally terrifying.

They recently released a video captured from a Naval ship at sea of triangular craft flying around their ship. I'll try to link it. It was in night vision so it's a little grainy, but kinda crazy.

Imagine how cool it would be that in our lifetime we get to find out that we are not alone.

Yes, but like you said, it could also lead to something incredibly scary.

I'd like this lifetime of mine to last a while... and not in captivity of another race, either.

So the unclassified reports on all those mysterious sightings......

Those flying objects? They're unidentified. Who knew?

Figured there wouldn't be anything of substance in the report.

At least they are taking it seriously now.

So many people who have seen things for decades and have been laughed at should take some solace in the fact that they probably aren't crazy.

I know my mom's experience as a kid is probably related to these things. She doesn't even believe in aliens, but she saw something incredible in the late 60s. I may have told the story, but if not I will if anyone wants to hear it.

My mom also saw a UFO as a kid. I know I’ve told the story on here. She is also the kind of individual who doesn’t fabricate things.

Re: The Astronomy and Physics thread. And things of the like.

I mean, I've always found this thing silly once your are old enough to find out the definition of UFO.

                      Unidentified Flying Object. Like yeah.

Did you see something in the sky? You can't tell what it is? Congratulations, you have seen a UFO (I'm being simplistic).

Like, it could a hot air balloon! It could be a supersonic plane! It could be a meteorite! It could be a drone! It could be an optical illusion! We don't have telescopic eyes!

Do you understand how vast the Universe is? Because I have a hard time even comprehending how big the Universe is.

So, is it possible there is life outside of Earth? Sure it is possible, if psychics work relatively uniformly throughout the Universe then the conditions on Earth could be replicated. Some organism might even arise somewhere where conditions are very different from ours.

Keep in mind an "alien" could simply be a bacteria-like organism living somewhere outside of Earth, it doesn't need to be intelligent.

Now, have some of those UFO's been a spaceship carrying intelligent aliens visiting Earth?

I don't know, I guess I doubt it, but I can reconsider my position if presented with solid evidence.

Have humans been abducted and/or returned to Earth by aliens?

                      See above.

                          I understand your position, Master.

My belief on the subject is somewhere in between being a skeptic and a believer that extraterrestrial life is here on Earth in some capacity.

I guess I want to believe more than anything. And these UAP's give me some hope.

I think it would be absolutely insane not to believe there is some kind of life in the universe other than us. I enjoy trying to come up with answers to the Fermi Paradox. In fact, there is a great book that gives you 75 answers to it. https://www.amazon.com/Universe-Teem...4689782&sr=8-2

So many realistic reasons we haven't made contact. I think one of the biggest reasons is like you said, the universe is unfathomably large. And that's just the observable universe. 46 billion light years in every direction, and it's expanding faster than the speed of light. Past that, we think there are probably an untold amount of galaxies. At least trillions, but probably more. So the number of rocky planets in their stars habitable zone are uncountable.

Our own galaxy is the same. It would take 100,000 years going at the speed of light just to go across the Milky Way.

We have been broadcasting radio waves for about 100 years. So that leaves a tiny little 100 light year area where aliens could have picked them up.

Also, I think we are spending too much time and money listening for radio signals. If there are intelligent races out there, they probably don't use radio. Radio is actually a dying form of communication here. Everything is moving to digital and fiber communications. And also, radio waves decay. So they might not have even made it 100 light years.

There are a handful of stars with planets within 100 light years of us, but they would have to be trying to listen for us. What are the odds of that? These planets might not even have the technology we do. They might be in stage the Earth was in 1,000 years ago. I think we don't look at the fact there may be less intelligent civilizations out there.

And as far as what my mom saw? I'm not talking about a UFO in the sky. I'm talking about one that came down and hovered over the ground 30 feet from her.

Yup, my mom saw something similar. I don't know how low, but low. It didn't necessarily completely obey our laws of physics, either.

I feel like all these things people see in the sky are easily explainable. In the past, maybe it was a meteor or a star or something.

Nowadays, it could be a plane, satellite, drone, who knows.

But those real secret ones, despite what has been said, I think it's really just secret/spy planes. Obviously if you could identify it, it wouldn't be a secret/it wouldn't still be flying. WW3, IF/when it happens, we'll definitely see what some countries have been doing for the last X decades.

Aliens do exist, but like I said in the past, I think its ridiculous to think they're basically shaped similar to humans, communicate similar to us, have similar styled tech just more advanced, and require environments known to earth life to survive.

Same. What she saw was a thick saucer type craft made of all metal, gray in color with no seams, rivets or anything like that. Made no sound, no visible means of propulsion, no flight control surfaces. It was about as big as an SUV, and it rose up and took off at an impossible speed away from her. Keep in mind, this was the late 60s. These are the types of things being seen now by the military. So whatever these things are, they've been around for a while.

I know it sounds crazy, but I know she didn't make it up. She's never seen anything like it since.
