Easily top 5 post I've ever read on this site

Can we take a moment to remember when this was said?

I guess the thing that stands out as much as the negative reviews is how lukewarm even the positive ones are. The last two:

Went to a pizza place, cut above most chain places, recommended, 3/5.

Went to a diner, empty, great service, great food, 3/5.

Can't imagine what a 5/5 restaurant might look like.
I was going to mention that too but I got too tired of pointing out the stuff about the first place.

He gave 3 stars to a place he didn't list a single complaint about. Amazing.

Who needs to imagine when its a reality.

The true sign of a 5 star restaurant? Fresh fryer oil.

What I like best about this place is all the fried food tastes like they just changed the fryer. One thing I am always wary of is going to a bar or a fried food type place and the food tastes like they need to change the fryer oil. Not here, it's always just top notch in that regards.

Damn, this has turned into the Operation Sports Roast of ODogg.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

You don't have to have a complaint about a place to mark it A-OK. It was just that, an ok place to eat. Not everyone can be a 5 star!

That's just one comment, there is a reason they've won best chicken wings in Columbus the past 5 or 6 years and it ain't the oil, lol.

Fair point - some places are just okay. I was comparing the rating (in stars and written content) to your other three star reviewed establishments.

Yeah, Odogg, when I see great food and great service, I don't expect a 3 star rating.

It should be in the 4 to 5 star ratings area if you are using words like great.

                      My 5 star opinion.lol

This is yelp so it's different but it's troubling that someone thinks a 3 is okay if everything is great because there are restaurants that will fire servers for consistent 3's.

Reminds me of the episode of Friends where Joey reads his play review and thinks "abysmal" is complimentary

Dude no joke. My job has one of those surveys that customers can fill out online. It gives you a 1-10 option. Little does the customer know that anything below a 9 equals a 0. So if you have us an 8 (which I think most would consider pretty solid) it really is a bad survey for us. Now I realize that isn't the customers fault because who honestly would set up a system that way but that is the kind of setups these companies have. If our store is below 85% we get **** on left and right.

Also let's not kid ourselves. Who fills out these surveys the most? Not people that had a pleasant experience. They will just continue shopping there. It's the people who fell slighted in some way. Fun for all lol.

Every time I click on this thread I'm reminded of South Park's take on Yelpers.

There are much better examples and some not so TOS friendly, but...

So I went to this locally owned family type restaurant in my town last night and everything was really good as it usually is, and I had a salad before my meal and when I was eating I busted out laughing as I thought to myself this salad is good but I didn't really need it. Everyone was like wtf are you laughing at.

I have to give Odogg props. He's taken all this in stride. I wonder if he gives OS a 3/5?
