Re: Off Topic 2017: Sports & Halloween

So, the 2017 baseball season ended last night on November 1st.

    It started on February 16th.

In that window, I watched 502 games of baseball, shattering 429 set in the inaugural run of 2016.

    A brief breakdown:

    250 MLB
    237 NCAA
    15 World Baseball Classic

    103 Braves
    73 LSU
    58 Astros

34 Covered (all LSU home games)

13 #WEIRDBASEBALL (A game that goes past midnight local time or 18 innings)
1 No Hitter (a seven-inning no-hitter thrown by Jared Poche' for LSU on 2-18, the second game of a double header)

A link to my count can be found here.
And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Lol, is it actually true that ESPN is banning their reporters from first posting breaking news on their social media accounts?

Re: Off Topic 2017: Fall Back

In case anyone forgot, time changed last night.

I never really get affected by the changes. I always just adjust on what the clock says. Change it right before going to bed, wake up at a similar time as I usually do, and just act like nothing's changed.

But I do hate sunset at 5pm. Even by 4 it starts getting dark.

The only redeeming quality of falling back (besides the extra hour gained) is the feeling of springing forward again and getting all of that daylight later in the day.

Anyway, late last night I just watched my computer clock do this (EDIT: Stupid : 59 : emoticon gets in the way lol):

                    Code:
                    1:59:56 AM
                    1:59:57 AM
                    1:59:58 AM
                    1:59:59 AM
                    1:00:00 AM
I pity the graveyard shifters at work when they realize this. I've done that before covering for somebody's shift. Didn't realize it until it happened. It was like BAM! Tea****ed.

lol. The best part about "falling back" is when it ends.

March once time changes is better because you get more daylight later and weather gets warmer. Right now, you lose daylight in evening and it gets colder. I wonder if there'll ever be a time where USA/Canada(and whatever other countries do this) abandon DST.

For me, 7:30am-7:30pm would be best time to have daylight. Right now having it from 7am-5pm isn't as nice.

I work nights and used to live in Alaska where I’ve seen daylight pretty much at every hour of the day. I don’t care when it’s light or dark I just hate the time change.

I take the day off on Friday, my boss approves it via email.

Friday afternoon I get a text from my boss asking why I hadn't done something on Friday and I proclaimed I took the entire day off and that they approved it. Boss told me I should've said I wouldn't have been working.
