So I drive a '99 Honda Civic EX, stick shift at 220k miles.

This past week, when throttling at low RPM's and completely off the clutch, my car is chugging a lot. Best way I can describe it is it feels like it is starved of power. There was even this moment when rush hour traffic cleared up ahead and the car behind me flashed me to speed up, I tried to push 3rd gear and my check-engine light started blinking for about a minute straight, and turned off again.

Anyone know what any of this is about, or means?

              I can't either.

Although it means we are another month closer to Spring.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I don't start thinking about spring until January 1st. Once midnight comes and fireworks go off, that's it. Holidays are over, bring on spring. Unfortunately there's usually 2 or so more months of cold, dark days after that to endure.

That, but I was thinking more...baseball season.

I had the same exact car before making a motor swap to a B16 after my oil pump locked up and consequently so did the motor. I eventually traded it, but they are reliable cars with cheap parts. It could be the TPS (throttle position sensor) but that's usually not going to cause something as severe as your issues. They sell dirt cheap OBD scanners on Amazon that connect wireless with Bluetooth. Save yourself some money and buy one and look up whatever code it's giving..

Miss working on Hondas. They weren't the fastest but both my Integra and Prelude were fun to drive and work on.

So, I think I'm going to start looking for a new job. I've basically worked for two companies my whole life (6.5 years at the current job) so this will be somewhat unfamiliar territory for me. This weekend I updated my resume.

I feel conflicted about it. Tax season is approaching and I don't want to feel like I'm leaving people "high and dry," but I can't keep paying these exorbitant health insurance premiums on my own for much longer. The increases have been outpacing my raises the past two years as my premium increases to nearly $400 in January. My boss seems uninterested in attempting to alleviate this for us and I'm not the type to go gravel for money or assistance.

Money issues aside I just haven't felt good about coming to work here for a long time (at least since being literally yelled at about having to buy forks). I haven't had an evaluation as I normally would even though I received my "cost of living" increase this year. Being guilt tripped over taking time off and a reduction of my tax season bonus by half are signals to me it's probably time to part ways.

If I felt my boss was receptive to talking about whatever issues I feel there are I would gladly approach him, but considering his temperament I feel things would crumble fairly quickly.

If you dread getting up and going to work each day, then its definitely time to make a change.

Luckily I still enjoy what I do, where I work and the people I work with. I will celebrate my 10th year here on December 26th. With 10 years comes extra money and vacation time.

And for us, when you only take insurance as a single (not family) it is paid for 100% by the company. Add to that matching 401K contributions, revenue/profit sharing, quarterly bonuses, holiday bonuses (Christmas, Thanksgiving certificates), monthly certificates for hitting goals ($50 gift card for 100%, $25 for 90%), and the family atmosphere (only 13 employees/family owned) I have no desire to work anywhere else.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
