I go to my local DMV to confess my sins at least once a month.

Re: Off Topic 2017: Sports & Halloween
Just sad hearing/reading all those stories. I don’t really ever cry but I did last night watching the wife of a husband that died get interviewed by Anderson Cooper last night. She said her husband was shielding her(standing behind her) as they were running trying to exit the venue, then she felt him get shot in the back. Like jesus man I can’t even imagine. Felt so bad for her.. her husband died while saving her life.... just not something anyone should have to go through. That shooter is a real pos. And what’s worse is this stuff seems to be becoming more and more common. Won’t be the last time we hear a story like that. Just have to hope you’re lucky enough to not be in a situation like that I guess....

I wasn’t going to read it, but I did. I don’t want to say, see or hear “his” name, even though we’ll be bombarded by information about “him”. So I felt I needed to know about the people, the lives behind “victim #”, to balance it out.
For every horrific story, there’s an equally heroic story of a stranger, friend, or loved one doing anything they can to help. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. It’s amazing how instinct kicks in in crisis. I’m glad the family and the man were able to connect and share in their grief to bring as much closure as possible to things. Of course, there’s a long way to go, and probably no end to the questions, but at least there was a fleeting moment for them.
I hope that I can be half the hero these people were if I’m ever thrust in to a situation like that.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Off Topic 2017: Sports & Halloween
My employer has an incredible way to keep employees who are fiscally responsibly employed in 4th quarter of the year. They will match up to 6% of our check that is input into a 401k account BUT their match will only be deposited if we're employed on 12/31. So I can put 6% of my check into my 401k all year and while I'll get what I input, I won't get what my employer will match unless I'm on the payroll the last day of the year.
It's maddeningly genius because I really want out and get a new job soon but I'd be throwing away a few thousand dollars.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment
