Do you use the word "we" or "us" when you talk about your favorite sports team?

Do you use the words we or us when you talk about your favorite sports teams or do you refer to them as "they"?
I'm guilty I use we and us even though I don't play for those teams. Just wondering what you guys use. Lol

I personally don't use "we" but don't have any issues with people who do.

It is annoying when it's someone who all of a sudden becomes invested because of recent success but not that big of a deal to me.


However, the moment you go from saying "we" to "they" when times get tough you lose me.

There was a time I did, for the Chargers when I had season tickets for 5 years. So, I legitimately felt like I had an actual stake in the team.

But other than that specific case, it really does irk me most of the time hearing people say "we" or "us"

Yeah it's always we when the team is winning but they when they start to suck with some fans. It's always we to me. Always has been. I've invested so much into my favorite teams I feel I have the right to say we. I hate when others try to correct me.

I used it when I was 6 years old and I'll use it when I'm 86. Sports fandom is a completely emotional, irrational endeavor, and if it's not for you, well then you're missing out. I'm actually pretty annoyed when someone takes that sort of patronizing stance of, "now, now, you're not actually part of the team, so you shouldn't use those particular pronouns, okay pal?"

If someone says that kind of thing to me in real life, it's a 100% chance I'm going to say something hella rude in response.

I will say "we" when it comes to college football because I guess I still see myself as part of the University.

This was me. I'd use we for UT since I'm an alum. I'd use they for the rest. Over the years though I've started using we across the board.

I still do it, though it's not exactly intentional. With being as emotionally invested as I am in my 3 favorite sports teams, it just slips out. Especially in text form.

Nope. I did nothing to help them win or lose. I cheer for the teams I support, but I don't say WE.

if your money is footing the bill for your team to be able to play then I see nothing wrong with using ''we''. if thats not right then jerry jones or any owner shouldnt say ''we'' either.
however I always say ''they'', the only time I recall using ''we'' was when I was in school and referring to the schools team.

I do. If it wasn't for fans they wouldn't have teams. I give my money to them so I get to use we/us.

I use them interchangeably because I'm not so ridiculous that I actually think about what comes out before it does, but I like "we." It actually annoys me that people get annoyed by this.

Sports are a brotherhood. The fans pay to see the product, pay everyone's salaries, bring the energy and interest, etc. We're representatives of the teams we follow to our friends and such.

You bet your *** it's "we."
