My dad did this, he called the superdome and got the same type of turf for his backyard lol. Overkill as a mofo, but should last a long time. Entire backyard was cemented, with drain lines put in, then covered with a rubber pad thing & artificial turf.
Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?

Yeah man, at night before bed or first thing in the morning when it's just you, a shovel and a couple hundred cubic feet of snow. Oh and don't forget the Rocky IV soundtrack for the ultimate training sequence feeling, haa!Comment

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
I hate cutting my parents yard. They have so many things in the yard that I have to cut in and go around that it disrupts having any flow.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Nope......current house yard is about 5 acres. Just something that need to be done. My old house where the yard was much smaller, I use to cut diamonds and other patterns in my yard.Comment

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
Anyone know anything about fixing electric lawnmowers? Power cord seems like it's not working most times. I could shake it a bunch and suddenly it has power.
I wanna get to the root of the mower but the part where it all connects requires screwdriver to open up the compartment cover containing the engine and base of the cord , but the head of the screws seems like nothing I've seen before. Can't even get pictures because it's hard to see. Any other suggestions that could help fix it?Comment

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
I don't have a yard since I live in an apartment, but I love taking care of the field that my baseball team plays on. I don't mow it, but edging the infield/outfield cuts, fixing the mound/batter's boxes, watering, etc. is bliss.
My favorite is getting a field ready for a game. I take a ton of pride in making it look as nice as possible. I know as a player, it was such a big deal playing on a well-groomed field, so I try to give my players that feeling as much as possible.Comment

I would suggest researching online or going to your local garden center to see what plants would be best suited for your region to combat annoying insects.

lol great....
https://stoppestinfo.com/repel-plants.html
Here the plants have no power as well. Centipedes can only be eliminated with the help of insecticides, sticky traps, and dust, and no repellents will be helpful!
There's so many different kinds to choose from, don't know which is more effective than the other since everyone has their own opinions. Might just have to try abunch and see which works. Luckily one that some sites seem to mention is basil, so that can still serve another purpose if it doesn't work.Comment

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
I enjoy doing yard maintenance at my mom's house because they're out in the country and I don't have to worry about being accosted by neighbors, I can just do my thing and help Mom out. Plus they have a decent size yard and it makes me smile to look back on the full spectrum after the work is done and feel like I've done well.
plus, who doesn't love the smell of fresh cut grass?
edit: whoops, this is the first time I checked this thread and had no idea the fresh grass scent had already been brought up multiple times, oh wellLast edited by l3ulvl; 01-24-2018, 01:39 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
