Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
I made the switch from gas powered weed eater and leaf blower to battery powered.
Very happy with the change.
I will completely change over at some point, but those two were top priority.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
I dont think I've ever used a leaf blower to blow leaves before.
I've used it a few times on grass clippings but that's it.
I dont see difficulty in just sweeping or taking things up. Then again, most of yard isnt surrounded by pavement so not much to clean.Comment

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
Fast forward to the next year and I spent $300 at Home Depot to get a backpack, most powerful leaf blower they had. Got it home, gassed it up and 5 hours later all leaves done. No help from my wife.
And most importantly, I enjoyed blowing all the leaves, it's kind of zen-like. And no blisters!
Now that I've been doing it for a couple of more years I can do the entire yard in about 4 hours. I've learned the ins and outs of how to better control and direct the leaf pile.
All I know is whoever invented this backpack leaf blower is at the top of my list of people who should get into Heaven if there is one, LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Yeah, if you have more than one big tree in your yard I can't imagine using a rake to get leaves up.

We used to live in the woods and you just couldn't win the battle with leaves. I had a backpack leaf blower, but it wasn't enough. I eventually just started mulching them with a lawnmower.
Biggest problem for me is a pine tree that's on my neighbor's property and a sweet gum tree on another neighbors property. I like them, but the brown balls that sweet gum trees drop are annoying. You can't run them over with a lawnmower because it's not good for the blades and it sounds like you're trying to mow pieces of metal. I'm going to get one of those sweepers to help with that stuff by next year. I'll probably wait until the winter when I can find it cheaper.

We have one huge water oak tree in our back yard and just suck em up with my riding lawn mower and bag them. I can fill up 6-8 of those large lawn and leaf bags in about an hour. The only place I have to rake is around the flower beds and between our storage shed and fence. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I enjoy riding on the riding mower, its therapeutic for me. But running up and down with a push mower. No thanks CB lol.

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
I wonder if theres something unusual this year in the air(east coast at least).
Seems like allergies are worse this year for people than usual.
I never had allergies before, but this year at times I can feel it in my throat, almost like allergic reaction.
Ironically, when doing yardwork I'm fine. Mowing the lawn and all that, I'm fine with. It seems like if I'm upstairs and especially if window is open, that's when I feel it.Comment

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
There were plenty of news reports about how high the pollen count was this Spring. Considering all the rain we got last year it makes sense.

Re: Anyone else enjoy doing yard work?
That would explain it. I looked at pollen report and seems like a few things are high(Pine,Fir,Spruce in my area). Not sure if it's normal or not to be high this time of year.Comment
