Re: Christmas 2017
Best part about Christmas decorating and decoration is you can do it over a period of days and you can accumulate Christmas decorations over the years. We have a day in December where we get the family together and we paint decorations to add to our growing collection.Didn't get a tree skirt yet. And yea was the same growing up. Dad did the light's and everything then we would hang the ornaments. He always got real trees. He was an artist, so I think that helped with his decorations. At this point all I've done is this tree, gonna get some more decorations for the house and the yard.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Re: Christmas 2017
I was listening to Holly when it flipped on the 1st. Try to do it every year.My Packers tree in my room stays up year round, the wife decorated the rest of the interior today with the exception of the big tree in the front room. Next weekend the tree and the exterior will be done.
Added SXM Holly to my radio presets the other day, been listening off and on already.
Just ordered the first of my son's gifts, which I am pretty excited about too...

Can’t believe that Ruxpin is back. What is old is new again. Love it.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Re: Christmas 2017
I never really watch the Hallmark Channel movies, but I've caught parts of a few since they started running them this year...the dudes in these movies are always widowers. I know, I know - they're building up the sad story for the female star, but man it's kind of annoying once I noticed it.
Though there was one movie I only put on because Taylor Cole was in it but after they did so much of it in the movie I ended up thinking ice sculpting looks pretty damn interesting.
Haven't actually decorated yet because it's too early, so this is all I've got to contribute so far.

Re: Christmas 2017
I already have 3/4 of my shopping done thanks to a large order from Amazon on Friday. Most of that has already been delivered so it's just a matter of wrapping things now.
I've also added to my Christmas music collection already picking up these three classics:

Re: Christmas 2017
So here's a question: (I know some have already started listening so it'll be interesting) When do you start listening to Christmas music? I know the stores are all set up for it already and so on but when do you personally listen? My personal start date for Christmas music is the day after US Thanksgiving.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Christmas 2017
I've already listened to Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas. Typically, though, it's after Thanksgiving. I could listen to Vince's Charlie Brown tunes all year long, but the more Christmas-explicit stuff (ie: Mariah Carey, She & Him, Ella, Count Basie, etc) are saved for the 4-6 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So here's a question: (I know some have already started listening so it'll be interesting) When do you start listening to Christmas music? I know the stores are all set up for it already and so on but when do you personally listen? My personal start date for Christmas music is the day after US Thanksgiving.

Re: Christmas 2017
Johnny Mathis Christmas music is where it's at. I love his Christmas music. Have listened to it every year since I was a kid.
Merry Christmas Johnny Mathis is a great one to listen too.

Johnny Mathis' Christmas music is the go-to standard in my household. It's not Christmas to me unless i've heard some of his music.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Christmas 2017
After Thanksgiving, though the local station here did their switch to all-Christmas last Tuesday. I like the season and all, but seven weeks out is too early for me.So here's a question: (I know some have already started listening so it'll be interesting) When do you start listening to Christmas music? I know the stores are all set up for it already and so on but when do you personally listen? My personal start date for Christmas music is the day after US Thanksgiving.Comment

Re: Christmas 2017
November 1st I go all out with Christmas. Music is central to the holiday so it’s always on. I enjoy it immensely. However, I maybe in the minority. So here's a question: (I know some have already started listening so it'll be interesting) When do you start listening to Christmas music? I know the stores are all set up for it already and so on but when do you personally listen? Re: Christmas 2017
I'd start around this upcoming weekend because of the parade. Radio stations start with it the day the parade begins. So here's a question: (I know some have already started listening so it'll be interesting) When do you start listening to Christmas music?
