My son turned 3 not too long ago. In April he turned 21. He's married now and expecting a baby of his own in December.

I thought I was gonna be a Papaw last year but his wife miscarried.

Today is/was 7/11 day. I completely forgot and missed on getting free slushies. That's literally one of the only things I've ever gotten from 7/11 probably in my entire life.

LOL so I asked that Craigslist scammer to send the money order on the washing machine I was selling (who claims his assistant wrote too much on the order), and after he sent it I said my friend bought it from me anyway so the deal was off.

Turns out this assistant paid over 800% my asking price. Yea, nah. Overnight USPS mail from an isolated home out in Middle of Nowhere, Pennsylvania and issued out of a WalMart in New York. He has texted me from three numbers already and misspelled his own name once.

Man, I really want to bury this guy.

In the monthly edition of pizza news...

In reading about Papa John's and the CEO's stupidity, I found out Domino's is apparently the best performing pizza chain as they have a very high stock price. Turns out, their price has gone from like $12 in June/2010 to $272 today. Their rate of return this year is almost 50%!

With how awful I thought this chain was doing after redoing everything, that surprises me greatly.

Dominos is my favorite amongst the national pizza chains. Pizza Hut isn't bad, and I absolutely can't stand Papa John's pizza.

Same here. We made the switch from Pizza Hut to Domino's years ago. Domino's used to be the worst, but they really turned around their quality etc years ago now. On rare occasions we still get Pizza Hut to switch it up, but our go-to as far as national chains go is Domino's.

Marco’s is my go-to delivery pizza. Had Domino’s a few months back, and it was better than it used to be. Haven’t had Papa John’s in several years.

Yeah once in a while I'll get Pizza Hut just to get something different, if I don't get from one of the local pizza places.

Some of our favorite pizza is Fultano's pizza on the Oregon coast. It might not even be as great to the locals there, but we usually eat it at least 2-3 times every time we go up there.

Marco's is pretty solid. Their Big Square Deal is the bomb. Town I'm in only has Pizza Hut and then local places. I vastly prefer the local places, but if I want cheap, I'm okay with Pizza Hut.

It's very hard to get bad pizza (except for that Totino's abomination frozen pizza stuff they pitch to kids who can barely use a microwave). If it's pizza, odds are good I'll eat it happily. Papa John's is fine (imo) especially with their garlic sauce. Domino's is roughly equal to Pizza Hut although I like the pan pizza that Pizza Hut has a bit better (probably goes back to my 'Book It' days as a youngster lol). Marco's is fine and was one of my standbys in Ann Arbor up on Plymouth Road as a grad student. Ditto Cottage Inn. Pizza House (they have a presence in Ann Arbor, not sure how widespread) is good for more sit down level of pizza. Bell's Pizza was good in AA, too, although I hear it's closed down. Around here, there's a place called Pizza King which is my go to for thin crust, but it's about double the cost of the cheaper chain pizza places. Little Caesar's Hot & Ready has its place as well (though that place is mostly in the garbage can or after drinking). Gino's East, Uno's, or Giordano's all work if you're digging deep dish Chicago style. Plus every town has a more authentic Italian place to try out as well (Angelo's, Gino's, Rosati's, Salvatore's etc etc etc), especially in the bigger cities.

I guess I don't really understand the "take and bake" places though. Seems like a weird middle ground between making your own and having it prepared for you while being also more expensive that grocery store frozen pizza.

Those places likely save on staffing, operational costs, and lot space.

If you're talking about the customer end, maybe it's just so they can eat it when they want to or bake it the way they like it. The thing I liked about when Coscto did it is they made theirs fill up the box with a square pizza instead of cutting the corners rounding it, whereas their pre-baked ones were/are circular (and both would cost the same amount).

Yea, referring to the customer side. That's what I don't understand. You could pick from an almost endless variety of $6-8 frozen pizzas in the grocery store and bake it to your heart's content also. If you're really picky about ingredients, it seems like making it yourself from the crust, tomato sauce etc would be the way to go.
