I keep quarters for laundry and everything else goes into a big bag, every so often I mismanage my monthly funds and take that change to the bank at the end of the month for a few extra bucks for gas or beer

I bag all of my coins, and when I feel good and read I deposit them at the bank. Last year when I did this I had over $350 IIRC.

Yes. And some people are heartless, which means they are homeless even when they have a house.

And some of them don't want what they claim to want. Several years ago I strolled into a McDonald's where there was a homeless person nearby the door with a sign asking for money for food. When I left the McDonald's he was still there, and he asked me if I had any spare change. I said I only had a card on me and asked him if he'd like me to buy him anything from in there. He said: "That's okay."

It is entirely possible he just ate and is trying to save up for the next meal, but I still don't know someone who would say no to fries or a drink on the side meanwhile, or just any food in general even if it sits out for a while if you're in his situation. Methinks he wanted money for something that his sign didn't mention.

Tomorrow is Amazon Prime day. I wonder if you need to be signed up for prime before the actual day itself, or if you can get it the day of, if there's a good deal.

I've seen that before too. One place I used to pass by regularly, there was a woman there who always asked for money. Most times they asked for money for the bus. I'm sure people have offered to give them a bus token and they'd refuse too. The fact that they were there every day, at least several hours a day, for months if not years, clearly they weren't still waiting for bus money.

What I'm most surprised about is how long they were there. Sure it's public property, but it was right outside a bank. Last thing you'd want when going to/from a bank is seeing someone like that just sitting outside, watching everyone. Employees, police, nobody could do anything?

I encountered a guy asking for money in a parking lot as i was walking to my car. He seemed really nice and friendly and he had a sob story about how he had lost his job and his car was stranded and his wife and kids were in the car down the road (out of sight) with no gas and they hadn't eaten. They were on their way from (somewhere) trying to get to Houston i think. Since i wasnt born last night, i had still had a weird feeling about it so i declined to give him money.

About two weeks later, i was in a completely different city, about 45 miles away from this interaction. A man started walking toward me in the parking lot and i thought i recognized him. Sure enough, with his extremely sincere and friendly demeanor, he began telling me the exact story i had heard 2 weeks before, just about word for word. And his wife and kids were again stranded in a car down the road somewhere, having no gas and no food. I let him finish then i called him out on it. His eyes got as big as saucers and he said that wasn't him and he bailed out of there as quickly as he could.

I don't mind helping people but ive learned that if i smell something fishy, there is usually fish. (Full disclosure, there was a Long John Silver's next door, so i guess it could have been that..)

                          re: Off-Topic

I agree with Bruce. It may take place during Christmastime with a holiday party, and heck I may watch it in December more often than any other month... but it is not a Christmas movie. That's like saying Rush Hour is a foreign film. Anyway, not being a Christmas movie doesn't take away from the film by the least smidgen bit. Still one of my favorite action movies of all time, like right up at the very top.

Speaking of which, I remember when my younger sister and I walked out of seeing Brave in theater and she asked if Merida is now a Disney princess. I was like: "I mean I guess, yeah... kind of weird now that you put it that way." Leia I guess is grandmothered in herself.

Going back to the homeless thing... well not really that so much, but during our conversation for some reason my mind went to the theme of "doing the right thing,", and I thought about the time I was at a beach house in San Diego for vacation and rented a bike to ride every morning on the boardwalk. I would go get a smoothie as a part of my ride and finish it during the trip, attempting to throw it away in a trash can right over the boardwalk seawall mid-ride. I'd always miss for some reason or another, then stop and proceed to pick it up and throw it away. Every single time, some older individual would approach me and say something along the lines of: "You know, I always see people who miss the trash and never go back to pick it up, but you did and that's really saying something." I mean I want to thank them when they say that, but then I sit back and think: what the hell is wrong with some people? That is what's expected of you to do! Otherwise you're just... littering.

In reading about Papa John's and the CEO's stupidity, I found out Domino's is apparently the best performing pizza chain as they have a very high stock price. Turns out, their price has gone from like $12 in June/2010 to $272 today. Their rate of return this year is almost 50%!

With how awful I thought this chain was doing after redoing everything, that surprises me greatly.

I haven't been to Pizza Hut in years and have heard it's pretty good so I may have to try it sometime. I usually go to this place called Sir Pizza, it's really good and they pile the toppings on, they also cut their pizza in squares, it's a little more expensive but I don't mind for a good pizza. I've liked Papa Johns ok but haven't been there in sometime, kinda fell off on it. I really like Godfather's Pizza but closest one is about 45 min or so away.

About the people asking for money a few years ago I was leaving Walmart and this dude asked me for money to buy something to eat, I don't usually carry money but was going to Bojangles to get a biscuit right across the street.

Went to Bojangles left and realized they messed up my order. Went in and they told me to keep that biscuit and gave me what I ordered. I thought well I'll go through Walmart parking lot and see if that guy is there and will give him a biscuit. Drove over there saw him walking, pulled up beside him and said here man here's something to eat. Drove off and something told me to look in my rear view mirror while driving away, glad I did cause this ******* threw the biscuit to the ground without even opening the damn bag. My blood pressure went up quick! I turned my damn car around screeching tires and drove up to him and was like WTF?!... I cursed his *** out.

I enjoy watching the Tour de France. But, I absolutely hate the army of support vehicles (the cars and motorbikes). It's like come on give the riders some doggone space. I realize the support vehicles bring supplies and also photograph the event, but it's so out of control with how many vehicles there are and how they cause the riders to alter what they're doing.

Yeah, that's one reason that gives me pause when people ask for help like that. Too many liars and addicts. It's not even fun when you call 'em on it and offer food instead of coin. One time I'm like "you know as well as I do you're headed to the liquor store immediately."
