I got a $5 off code from Amazon that's good for a month. Can use it on any item over $5. Too bad I didn't get it a few days ago when I was buying stuff from there.

Only problem I see, is that so many items under $10 are only add-on exclusive, meaning they can only be bought with purchases over $25. At that point, I'll just be buying an item for the sake of getting a small amount off which isn't worth it.

Any suggestions on non-addon items under $10 that's sold by Amazon? Every small purchase I can think of like pack of gum, body wash, shampoo, all of that are add-on exclusive.
I've bought plenty of items that aren't an add on for less than $25. Anywhere from clothing to jewelry. I don't do Amazon a lot but I've never seen an item come with a minimum to be honest.

Edit: Misread a bit but I still have to imagine items out there exist that fall within the small threshold you're looking for.

There are items that aren't add-ons, but most I've looked at are.

Which is why I just threw it out here to see if anyone has any little thing on there they'd recommend.

Best I've found so far is a spray nozzle lol, Just to wash car with mainly.

Have I mentioned before that I hate Smartphones? If not, I know I've mentioned I hated plagiarism...

One of my summer school students thought they could get away with using an app that can generate work and answers on a test of theirs. That student has an accommodation where they take the test in another room with a supervisor, so they must have done it without getting caught somehow... but I know what false work looks like, and borrowing someones iPhone confirms that they did things bit-by-bit.

I really, really hate what this generation has access to. Is anything honest anymore?

Cheating has been around as long as the work itself.

It's not just a lack of honesty, it's a lack of difficulty.

Real ****. A large amount of kids at my school cheated on Accelerated Reader tests because we had a plug who had access to the program. AR is glorified busy work, it wasn’t a huge deal. No smartphones necessary.

My last semester of college before student teaching I still had to take two science classes. Only Bio and Chem fit my schedule (working/coaching). Idk **** about either and didn't care to take the time to learn about them. I got a chic's old workbook for Bio and used my phone on all my Chem test. Passed both and moved on about my degree.

I knew some who just give open notes tests. They'd make the test itself harder, but people were ok with that. Many times these tests weren't even about understanding as much as it was about memorizing. They'd even throw in the stupidest questions which have nothing to do with the material, just to see if someone memorized the book with the most random facts from a figure on a page.

The ones with open book tests knew that if you had harder questions but had your notes, you don't have to worry about memorizing, but you'll focus more on understanding and explaining everything.

Don't get me wrong, some open book tests people didn't even study for(I've been guilty of this before took), but many times depending on your circumstances, having notes does allow you to understand things better. I even remember one time it was an online test, and everyone was googling the answers to the questions. I probably got one of the lower marks in the class because I didn't realize people would go for 95% when cheating. I wanted to make mine look realistic lol.

I was taught as a kid by my dad...wrong always turns up wrong and right always turns up right. I've found that to be truer every day.

I feel like this general attitude in society (not picking on you specifically Shiz, you just happen to have the most concise distillation of the zeitgeist) explains a lot about modern times.

I agree that too many tests are lazily written and just rely on memorization rather than testing core concepts, but as much as it's out-of-fashion to test rote/drill processes, there are certain things that simply require it. To take a pretty basic example, there's no way to learn/test multiplication other than memorizing the multiplication tables. However, you can't really do much further learning about math until you have a fluid, working memorization of the multiplication tables. Similar to language and alphabets. Some things just need to be memorized.

But I agree that not everything should be tested as a memorization exercise; the problem is that testing concepts and true deeper evaluation of understanding is difficult and requires a really smart/committed teacher/test-writer.

I think we just view the profession from different perspectives. I'm not saying a kid can't catch a consequence. I just don't understand how some take it personal.

I always thought my teachers that went on rants about how bad cheating is were either hypocrites or cornballs. I'm telling this kid in front of me how cheating will never get you anywhere in life while they turn on the TV and see their favorite athlete, musician, and actor get caught cheating one way or another.

I'm not encouraging it or even saying let it go, I just feel like the basic "right vs wrong" lecture doesn't work like that anymore.
