Speaking of Christmas. Another "as seen on tv" products (robotic jar opener) you know people will be buying for Christmas. Featuring another one of those funny commercial moments.

I always thought I would reconcile with my sons mom but then she passed away just shy of 40. you just never know where lifes leading you so you have to enjoy what you can while you can. My son and his wife are expecting their first child November/December (a girl) so now I'm just gonna enjoy being a granpappy. And do what I can to help her break the gender barrier in MLB lmao

Yeah, I first started noticing this maybe 2 years ago (while watching late night "Frasier" and "Cheers" reruns), and then we basically had a running joke thread on OS last year. Also, apparently a lot of people's mom's and/or significant others watch these movies, so a lot of us end up watching them whether we want to or not.

I can't remember where that thread was (man, this year has flown by....) but the Hallmark Christmas movie jokes were flying fast-and-furious last year. It's their thing that they do. What can I say?

I've said this before but they have a specific vision for their brand and they execute it better than many others. I can't hate on that.
Yeah, they are committed to their core competencies. There was even an article in the Wall Street Journal about it last year ("How Hallmark Channel became a Christmas movie machine", or some headline similar to that), that's how noticeable of a trend it's become. I think people like to rip on their ultra-formulaic and even-a-toddler-can-predict-the-outcome level of story telling, not to mention the sheer volume involved in pumping out this many movies every year; so much so that I think it's essentially a national meme at this point.

Agree. It's annoying that they stop for like 3 months. Also annoying: editing very harmless 'edgy' language and scenes in episodes that would pass muster in most "G" rated flicks. I suppose it's their brand, though...

Was at Dick's Sporting Goods buying shoes and when I went to pay, there was a random 15% off coupon laying on the checkout counter.

Actually there was a guy in front of me paying for something and I saw him reach toward my shoe box at one point while I was looking at my keychain to see if I had my power card so I don't know if maybe he'd had the coupon and either forgot to or couldn't use so he passed it on to me. I'm visually impaired and only saw him reach over out of the corner of my eye plus he was to my left and I have no hearing in my left ear so if he said anything, I didn't hear it.

I have never been to Waffle House. All the ones around me just look so damn dirty outside that I don't dare enter.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
