Final update on my father:

He's in the clear now. Actually he could've gone home today but he's pretty much lost his ability to walk and thus if he can't move around by tomorrow he'll be placed in a rehab center closer to my house for the next couple weeks.

It's been a long process but things are MUCH better now. Thanks for all the support everyone.

Since SPTO posted some incredibly good news, which we are all happy to hear, I have a small declaration to make...


THE CHRISTMAS 2018 THREAD is quickly approaching. We have the outdoor lights up and the house inside is almost decorated. 2 trees are up and so are most of the Santas and other decoration. The tree in my den will go up when the basement is finished being renovated in a week are so.


There it is gentlemen. Only 54 more days.

I haven't seen any Christmas decorations on my street yet and we haven't even thought of that right now BUT my aunt on my mother's side is coming from England for Christmas and New Years so that's going to be great. It's going to be an incredibly heartwarming and special Christmas season to be sure.

For anyone who ever received an amazon prime package late, do you just email them saying so and watch them give you a month free? Or is there something else you need to do? It was only a day, but it's still past the guaranteed date.

I haven't checked, but apparently it was delivered late today(though nobody ever knocked). It's raining heavy though, so if it's ruined, I hope they'd even just give me a full refund as well.

They've really cut back on being overtly generous on their refunding from shipping errors. A $5 credit is typically the most I get. Thankfully it doesn't happen often, but with Christmas coming I'm dreading the increased deliveries made by our local USPS.

It was supposed to arrive Wednesday by 8pm, it came 24 hours after the guaranteed time.

The tracker even mentioned delays on it.

Is this a regular problem or just a one-off? Obviously Amazon is making the guarantee on the delivery date, but once they send it out it's out of their hands and that guarantee is in the hands of local carriers and any of their potential delays.

If it was a one-off thing and the item was fine, I'd just forget about it. If the item was damaged or this is more of a frequent issue, I'd contact Amazon. They likely can't do anything directly but it's their reputation being effected and they may end up putting some pressure on the carriers they use if this is a common problem.
