Around 2am-ish (East) this morning some friends from my Battlefield clan were playing together and were in a party chat when one of them started having a seizure while playing the game. Luckily someone in the clan knew about his past medical issues and recognized something wasn't right.

They went straight to our GroupMe looking for personal info for him because he lives alone. Someone had his name and someone else had his phone number + they were able to track his IP through some clever PSN snooping. They were able to track his approximate location and call the local EMS who then used his name, phone number, etc. to find the right address and said they were dispatching someone.

So they were still in the party chat and his headset was on so they could hear the paramedics arrive, treat, and say they were taking him to the ER. This morning someone in our clan called and confirmed he's in the ER still, but obviously they couldn't tell him anything more than that.

Just an incredibly scary thought and amazing how resourceful some guys in our clan were to get him some help ASAP.

I picked up the PS3 collection and played through MGS1-3 right around the time MSG5 came out. That was a blast.

I picked up the PS3 collection and played through MGS1-3 right around the time MSG5 came out. That was a blast.

I stopped playing MGS after 2 fell flat for me. MGS 1 is still one of my favorite games of all time with the goat boss battle.

Did the games pick back up after 2?

Damn Chase, that’s an amazing story. Going from messing around in a game to switching to rescue/help mode, I mean to even realize something was going on (even with prior knowledge) is mind-blowing stuff. Something you’d read about in the news or see in a TV show. You guys are awesome.

MSG3 is one of the best games I've ever played. I got burnt out after first starting MSG4 so never got further than the opening mission. MGS5 was fun, but it gets really repetitive as quests keep repopulating with little variance. I never finished it.

Besides being an outstanding Battlefield clan, there are some genuinely good people too. I didn't do anything myself, just sharing the story because I think it's incredible.

After one of our clan members spoke to his mother/father today she confirmed that without someone in the clan taking action he wouldn't have survived. There are a lot of details I won't post, but he seized in excess of over 50+ minutes and they are having several complications now related to memory, panic, etc.

They don't know what prognosis to give his parents because every time they move him to perform a CT scan he wakes up and tries to flee. It may take some time for his brain to reset and recognize his surroundings since he seized for so long. The address we found online belonged to his parents and after the EMTs arrived there the parents gave them his actual address so they could find him.

I won't continue on with his medical history, but long story short I hope he eventually recovers completely. His mother asked for our GroupMe transcript and shared her e-mail and phone number with us so we can get in touch with her.

Just like with some guys I've met on OS, I've also met some people playing Battlefield that are important too. I really hope he pulls through.

MGS4 was a bit tedious but still fun. The nostalgia and trip back to Shadow Moses was cool.

@Shiz Guarantee you'll enjoy MGS3. Arguably the best boss battles for an RPG ever. The story was incredible and fun too, very immersive game.

People are STILL finding little things in MGS3 that Hideo put in the game. The details are endless it seems.
