I had a great time at my first football game despite it being really hot and losing my phone for about 30 minutes.

        Re: OS Photography Club

Just picked up a Fuji x100F camera, I cannot wait to get it and start taking pics. I was truly inspired seeing the photos people take with it.

I love my Nikon D810 but its a damn hassle lugging it around with other lenses. I typically say F it and not bring it to life events because I have to worry about making sure I have all the right baby stuff with me and settle for cell phone pics.

At least with this camera it is a fixed 35mm lense with a dope retro style body and its light weight. It compliments my dslr instead of replace it, or that's what I hope. I'll have a review with it after I use it for a couple weeks.

I'll also be hitting up Hong Kong Disneyland in a couple months so that'll be fun to bring around.

My goal this year to pick an aspect or two of photography I want to improve and then study, practice, and practice more.

One of them is macro. Something about it is magical to me.

The other one is a toss up between moon/nightsky photography and landscapes.

I guess now would be the time to study/read up since Winter kills my motivation to get outside and take pictures.

In addition to those I want to try and get more pictures during family gatherings since nobody else seems to do that anymore.

Never got a macro lense but one day for sure. Night sky I was just getting the hang of it before my hotel opened and I just couldn't get the motivation to keep going.

At least with this new camera i can do street photography and a lot more portraits with my baby and i can bring it anywhere and not have to think about it.

I really want to do some night sky stuff but I've missed out lately. I need to take a trip by myself to do it because of the timing issues. Plus I would need to scout locations ahead of time.

Luckily where we live is fairly low light so full moon pictures (depending on the time of year) should be doable. Not sure how much stars and other nightsky objects I'd be able to catpure from my backyard. The in-laws have a great set-up for it, though.

All you need is a tripod and a remote shutter release and you're good to go.

I have both, but haven't played with them much. Figured both would be needed at some point in time.

You don't "need" the remote shutter, you can get the same by delaying the shot for say 5 seconds. You do need a tripod weight, usually your camera bag is good enough. Unless you are really worried about vibrations from walking on the ground, you are good by just using the timer.

I need to find one of the night time sky apps and finally purchase one. I would love to do some milky way shows, but never know where it is or plan enough to get an interesting shot with land foreground.

It has supplemental features that the camera won't do or is less cumbersome using the remote.

Definitely but you can get by without one unless you are doing it all the time.

I think my a6500 has wifi and may do a remote app from my phone, but I haven't even tried. For my uses haven't ever needed one but might be cool if I ever get around to trying it out when using the tripod.

So after years of having a bridge camera, I finally decided to make the leap to a full blown DSLR. Ended up getting the Canon Rebel T7 combo box that came with 2 lens, the 18-55mm lens and 75-300mm lens. First impression, holy crap DSLR camera have a lot of buttons. Weather been rainy and crappy since I bought it so only took it only briefly for a couple times. But it shall be my new long term hobby. Just something about it relaxes me.

Also found out today Randy Johnson is a professional photographer now. This is his website:

Photography from Hall of Fame Pitcher Randy Johnson

Took this yesterday from my Pixel 7 Pro with the wide angle lens.

I'm no photographer, but this phone has a great camera.
