    Re: OS stock investing thread

I've decided to focus the majority of my intention on GME instead of AMC for now. I unloaded all of my AMC stock in my Roth IRA for GME, and any stock I purchase hereon out before the squeeze will likely be for GME. After reading what I've been reading the last month, this is the legit one that has the most going for it regarding a squeeze, NFT's, etc. This one looks to be taking the charge.

I'm still an x,xxx AMC shareholder in my standard brokerage account and will likely stick with that, but I think where I rake in most of it will be from GME now.

AMC has been flat for the last few months seems like the hype/buzz is gone.

Of course it seems that way. That's what hedge funds want it to seem like. What's really happening on our end is nobody is selling (except that I finally swapped a lot of AMC for GME that I've owned since January).

Both GME and AMC retail own the float multiple times over. It has been mathematically/scientifically verified, however it is you want to put it. They have both been shorted to kingdom come. Hedges are suppressing the price so that it trades sideways. If they lower it too much, retail will keep buying the dip. If they let it run too much, retail will either FOMO buy or gamma squeezes can turn into margin calls. They're leaving it as it is, resetting FTD's and borrowing shares over and over trying to hold it down while paying small borrow fees. They can do this forever until the SEC/government acts on it or we register shares in our name so they can't borrow from us.

This is where GME is winning. Their group has a much smaller float and a much more active community in this since they were the first to act on this. Not to mention, their newly appointed CEO is active in working behind the scenes to get this to happen as well, and GME has strong fundamentals coming up in the way of possible dividends, blockchain, etc. It has the potential to be massive, and HF's would be silly to not cover AMC if they are covering GME at the same time. Otherwise, everyone will load up on AMC and do the same thing all over again, making it exponentially more expensive than it ever should have been.

Last two things to remember regarding the AMC statement:

        1) It is still at record highs compared to any other time in its existence. I don't think AMC was ever more than like $33/share, and now it can't go underneath that. This alone says a lot.

        2) Shorts haven't covered. That says everything else. You don't need hype/buzz to still let a squeeze occur. I like low volume to be an indicator that the hedge funds have less ammo to borrow from and trade in dark pools.

I'd say we're near. I don't know if that means days/weeks/months, but this won't go on forever.

It seems that catalysts are coming for momentum stocks. Bed Bath & Beyond just announced a $1 Billion three year Share Repurchase program, which is causing shorts to burn, and is up 70% after hours. Other momentum stocks are following suit in their own little way.

Rumors have it that GameStop is partnering with Loopring to create an NFT Marketplace, and there may be an announcement as early as Friday. It's only speculation though, but if you are trying to get in before it's too late then now just might be that time.

My worst stock mistake (sndl) while I didn’t know what i was doing jumped up 22% after hours on major news. I’m still down a lot, but it’s got a lot of buzz going into tomorrow. I’m fine taking a loss but I would like 1.20ish

                    Re: OS stock investing thread

With GME being illegally naked shorted for the longest time, its shareholders DRS'ing shares to put them in their name, etc. the liquidity is drying up to the point that the cost to borrow the stock has risen through the roof. It has been at 100% utilization for over 75 consecutive days, and with a 100%+ borrowing fee (short hedge funds would have to spend more money to borrow the stock in a year's time than they would make by repurchasing it at the same price), some of them may be covering parts of their positions, or at least shorting it less and causing a runup.

Combined with their earnings call tomorrow (June 1st) and shareholder meeting Thursday (June 2nd), the vote to increase the number of shares from 300 million to 1 billion and the likely announcement of a stock split dividend within the next two business weeks, you're looking at potentially a short squeeze here soon.

Before the end of their Q2 (July 31st), they will be launching their NFT Marketplace. There is also word of them launching GMErica, for which everything is speculation and nobody knows exactly what it will be (maybe even perhaps a metaverse program). Either way, they are doing massive things in digital technology, so with their fundamentals through the roof, SHF are kind of shaking in their boots right now.

Other basket stocks will potentially follow with this on a lesser scale, including AMC and BBBY. It's going to be a green summer for them though, oh boy it is. I don't know if the rest of the market will bleed or not, but if all signs indicate to liquidation for SHF and they aren't bailed out by the big banks, then the runup may be a catalyst for a major recession, if not an outright market crash.

                    Buckle up.

                        Yup.

And let me clarify, GME has had red days on every earnings day in the past long time. This is the price suppression the shorts work for. All of this stock borrowing may not have been used to short it yet, and if they drive it back down below $100 I'm going to buy as many shares as I can. I just got my paycheck and have been waiting on that to do so, but only if I can lower my average.

Anyway, unless they're forced to close their positions, the price will always be wrong and this will always be a steal. When it rips is yet to be determined, but it IS a when and not an if.

The general earnings rule anyway is "buy the rumor, sell the news." GME could announce they found the cure for cancer and it would go down. It may go up leading up to it though, then hit a fast AH decline.

If you want to be a part of the stock split dividend at a cheaper price though, it may be announced at any time maybe ten days after the vote to increase the share count to 1B is approved so this may be near the time to do so. Maybe after they drive it down after earnings will be the best time for me then.

I finally bought a few during the dip last week. With the split happening, should be able to make a profit unless I just hold it. Now if the other things happen, I'll believe it when I see it as the market is completely manipulated, then I won't ever have to think about money again.

GameStop is issuing a 4:1 stock split via dividend on July 21st. Anyone who is a shareholder on or before July 18th will receive three additional shares for every one share owned from the corporation.

The NFT Marketplace should launch any time between then and July 31st, if they stick to their plan of launching it before the end of their Q2 2022.

                                Expect much FOMO.
