Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”

I can't watch those Hallmark films they are all the same to me. It's always about a woman trying to get back with an old flame via a baking competition or working on their family's tree farm.

The majority of them star Winnie from The Wonder Years, DJ from Full House or Claudia from Party of Five. My wife has our dvrs littered with them.

Pure, 100% guess at the plot based on title alone: she has to write a Christmas song for a local production and some guy she hadn't seen since they were kids in the piano player for the show. They cowrite a song and boom.

Whenever I see Alicia Witt pop up in something I think of her from some 2002 Twilight Zone because that was the first thing I saw her in.

She's done a million of these Hallmark movies and I'm sure had a bunch of other work in the last 20 years and I just think of some random TZ episode. Our brains are weird.

Is it an old friend? I always thought it was just some random guy she meets in some small town who ends up being "Mr.Right", but something happens causing a rift, she seems like she's going back to her regular life in the bigger city, only to realize happiness was back in that small town and that guy.

its both. its why HallMark is able to write for women so well: they take away reason and accountability. apologies to Melvin Udall.

Sounds like you guys are going to make some Hallmark movies but from the man's perspective.

Just an hour and a half of:
            "She was into me, right?"
            "Yeah man, go for it."

My wife and I took the kids to see Santa and get their pictures taken today. Before the photos, Santa read a story to the kids. During the story, he referred to Rudolph as ADOLP. It went over everyone’s heads except for me a 2 male elves. We were dying looking around to see if anyone else caught it. It was a small mistake, but for some reason, it hit our funny bones.

less than 4 weeks till the Man in Red arrives.

also, I wouldn't be caught dead in a retail store Friday, I dont care if everything was 100% off.

Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”

The calendar flips tonight, bring in December. This brings us to the end of our “practise month” for Christmas. Now we are going to have an influx of those who want to be merry in December.

To those who wouldn’t come in until December, welcome. It’s time to program our pvr’s to get all the Christmas shows we want to watch, but don’t have time to watch. I hope you all can have some time to slow down, watch a Christmas Special live with commercials and all to get into the spirit and see the increase of awesome toy commercials, especially Star Wars commercials. It’s like I’m a kid again. Star Wars on tv and in the theatres, my daughter is almost 4, so we are in prime Christmas years and we have my son Christian on deck being 3.5 years behind his sister. Thus stretching out our special Christmas years.
I am the lesson after the fall.

I'm more of a Katrina Law fan myself. Will she find the man of her dreams where she least expects it? Will he have perfect hair? Yes and yes.

Left a Hallmark movie on today while I was doing stuff purely because my cable info had Richard Karn as the lead. I've been catching a lot of Home Improvement reruns lately so it was cool seeing him pop up in something in 2019.

And in honor of Christmas being the time to get together and repeat the same stories over and over...I know we've done this before, but who's got uncommon Christmas songs to suggest? Originals or covers of classics, doesn't matter to me - just trying to add new stuff to the rotation for the month.

Not sure where to best ask this, but how do you gift a PC video game digital download for somebody? I haven't purchased anything yet, because I don't know if it comes as a code, e-mail, or what. Furthermore, I don't know how to best "present it" as a gift, like wrapped in a box and such. Do I hand-write said code? Type and print? I just don't know the best presentation for this and how it should be done.

                          Thanks for those who know.

Christmas tree is up. I also have lights on the house up, but it was storming last night so I don't have any good pictures yet.

After skimming a bunch of them on Spotify over the weekend, I'm pretty sure that there isn't a single good version of "Wonderful Christmastime".
