Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”
This weekend was all Christmas. Went to the in-laws to celebrate Christmas with them. Thank God, because her sisters family drives me nuts. Too much going on with their kids and their dogs. I don’t know who is better trained.
Today, went to my parents to decorate their tree in the living room. We had the entire family over to decorate. We blasted Boney M Christmas, which is a family favourite and just enjoyed time together.
17 more sleeps. I’m thankful I start November 1st. Can’t believe how quickly it is approaching.
Hope all of you have started your shopping. I have to buy stocking stuffers for my wife. I’m not allowed to do the kids. She knows I will go overboard.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

I’m done shopping! Amazon is an amazing thing! Lol
Accidentally opened one of my gifts from my wife yesterday. We have so much coming from amazon, and she said she changed the name on the delivery to hers but didn’t. It’s all good though, she already knew one of the things I got her so we called it even. (A cover for my AirPods charging case).
Apparently we’re doing a Christmas lasagna this year. We had to change up Thanksgiving at the last moment due to an illness in the family (grandma gonna be okay!) so we actually did a ham on turkey day, so a lasagna on Christmas fits with the mixed up theme. My wife has made it a few times the last couple months and it’s slammin’, which is why it was requested by her family anyway. I’m on board. My dad has us up his way for Christmas Eve traditionally, and he does a mean prime rib so it’ll be good eating as usual for the holidays.
My son’s daycare is closed or closing early basically every day of the week of Christmas, plus New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day sooo, since I’m currently laid off I said F it and am gonna keep him home with me for nearly 2 weeks. The 20th will be his last day of the calendar year. Now that’s a holiday break!!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”
Just one or two gifts left to buy and then I'm finished shopping. Pretty happy with how I've done.
What usually happens is I get a little bonus sometime near the holidays, I put that aside for Christmas gifts, and then overspend because I see stuff people need and I like helping them out if/when I can.
Spoiler
Not this year though. Doing a pretty good job of getting stuff and still sticking to what I wanted to spend.Comment

Re: Christmas Thread 2019 “Hallmark Style”
Also....I knocked out all of my shopping in one fell swoop last night. It took a while but worth it to be done. First time in my life I ever did all-online.
Honestly, I actually prefer going out to brick-and-mortar stores and doing it the old fashioned way, I dunno...just puts me in the Christmas mood I guess. But it's increasingly the case that the things I want to get simply can't be purchased that way anymore. Sign of the times I guess.Comment

Yeah, the majority of their stuff is Christmas oriented, but they have a lot of classical stuff, too. Half of the show was their Christmas story and the second half was pretty much unrestrained. It was nuts.

Online is too convenient sometimes - tough to beat finding a good deal at midnight and clicking Buy all while sitting on the couch.Comment

Yup. I did a split, but mainly online. We live across the street from a Target so not having to fight the parking lot and crowds was less stressful.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
