If it’s gotta take limiting mass gatherings for a few weeks, so be it.

Sounds like you guys are headed for a full on quarantine like Italy. Good luck!

I'm not suggesting coronavirus isn't more deadly than that of the flu, I'm just not sold on how much more deadly it is because we don't have the capability at this time to get all the numbers/facts.
Same goes for the flu. Many people probably get it, treat it with OTC meds, and recover without ever going to a doctor. Stats for any disease will only come from cases that sought treatment and had the diagnosis confirmed.

Yup, Manila has suspended air, boat and road travel to Metro Manila.

Gonna be extra cautious, I have a 14 month old and I myself take a immune suppressing medication for psoriasis.

It just turned to Friday the 13th here too (yikes), let’s hope for the best!

About the 14 day quarantine or self-quarantine:

Coronavirus Can Live in Patients for Five Weeks After Contagion

This study was release yesterday in the prestigious Lancet Journal. Quoting directly from the study:

Median duration of viral shedding was 20·0 days (IQR 17·0–24·0) in survivors, but SARS-CoV-2 was detectable until death in non-survivors. The longest observed duration of viral shedding in survivors was 37 days.
            https://www.thelancet.com/journals/l...ext#back-bib33

People in the study shed the virus for 20 days (median), and as long as for 37 days. Lets see if in the upcoming days quarantine guidelines are revised.

                Never stated nor implied otherwise.

Just that I don't buy into the premise that the coronavirus is this many times more deadly than that of the flu when there is no way of having exact figures, especially in a case like the coronavirus where people are being instructed to just stay home because there isn't enough testing kits available to even properly diagnose.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I read 28 days at least a week ago, so the 3 week lockdown or 14 day quarantine didn’t make sense to me either. I suppose it can take up to the higher end but a high enough % only make it to half that so they figured it was a safe time period.

Wild stuff going on right now.

I remember seeing a tweet Saturday that in retrospect eerily warned us this was going to be a bad week.

Week started with Spring Forward, was a full moon all week and ended with Friday the 13th.

Governor Northam just declared a State of Emergency for Virginia as did California and Tennessee. I expect other states to follow over the next day or so.

Not sure what's worse on Friday, stay away from crowds or stay away from Camp Crystal Lake.

Also, MLB spring training has been suspended. And most likely the beginning of the season will be as well. This one hurts.

Sucks to see so many people scared and rattled. It's just another thing that will pass by.

And then there are those people who think zombie apocalypse movies are documentaries, and they aren't helping matters lol.

Who are you seeing that is scared and rattled? Is your family panicking around you? Like, I'm not seeing any people around me behaving that way. Plenty of people around me waving this off, however.

Or are you referring to the precautions themselves?
