iPhone App

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here it goes.

I think OS should make an iPhone app, update us on main page news. Have a quick link the the mobile forums and what not. I think if done right, it could be one of the best out there. Hell you could even charge $.99-$1.99 and plenty of people would buy it.

Just a thought.

I've thought about approaching Steve to gauge some interest... unfortunately I don't think I would have enough time to develop it on my own.

Hopefully VBulletin is working on iPhone support. That would make it a lot easier...

I don't have an iPhone, but why wouldn't someone just hit OS w/ the web browser that is on the iPhone? What would an iPhone app do exactly?

Don't need an app. OS mobile works okay or you can make a more friendly OS iPhone interface but I don't think it is necessary. I rarely post from my iPhone on OS.

I would not post on Facebook from my phone without the app, the app makes it a lot easier to navigate and post and I'm sure an OS app would do the same.......just sayin :wink:

Thing is Facebook has how many iPhone users compared to OS? iPhone apps take some resources to make.

I wouldn't be against it, just don't think it is feasible for OS.

It would just make it more user friendly browsing the entire site.

An iPhone app has a ton of potential for expanding your userbase.

Make it free, highlight news, blogs, reviews, etc. and you instantly become a viable alternative to IGN's review app.

i agree. I am not a big fan of the OS mobile site on my iPhone.

I develop iPhone apps and have thought about an OS type app, just think it would be two much hassle to work with VBulletin (I think they still power the forums right?)

I dont visit the main site enough to know what a iPhone version of the site would look like, but I have always wanted a good mobile forum.

I'm actually not even referring to the forums.

All the content OS now offers can be packaged into an app. Push the articles and images that are OS exclusive to the forefront.

Hmm. I guess do whatever the above posters mentioned. Just an easier way to browse OS via iPhone? I really don't know, since I don't have an iPhone.

I'm sure the guys will chime in on what they'd like to see. Let me know if it interests you. Would be cool, even tho I don't have an iPhone. LOL.

In the app, we should have "single player" and "Multiplayer" games of the month/or week (for PS3 and XBox 360). To show what games most of us OS'ers are playing right now. There can be something for the Wii, DS, and PSP. We can use polls and use the results to tell whats hot.
