Welcome back to my FIFA 16 Portsmouth Road To Glory Career Mode!

After continuing to struggle for consistency in the previous episode we look to knuckle down and get back on track by grinding out some all important wins to crank up the pressure on Fulham and we have the biggest game of the series so far when we are drawn against Manchester United in the FA Cup!

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*

I’ve been having trouble finding how I want to update and run my career mode for you guys. I want to keep things detailed, but not to the point of the posts are either super wordy, or super boring. Short, simple, and to the point is the format I am looking for. I’ve been toying with video editing (see: Juventus career videos), but this was really just something to do for a break from my (main) Arsenal career mode. I was running the page over at Dynasty Nation (http://www.dynastynationnetwork.com/...cer&u=JHedges2) but it just didn’t seem to get enough traffic/feedback despite A LOT of time/effort put in.

With that said, this post will be a bit longer, as I intend to update you all on where I stand with Arsenal; as I currently am in July of 2016 managing England in the Euro 2016 tournament. The ‘English related’ champions of 2015/16 are:

            Champions League: Manchester City
            Premier League: Arsenal
            FA Cup: Manchester United
Capital One Cup: West Ham United

BPL Player of the Year: Petr Čech (12 clean sheets)
BPL Golden Boot: Wayne Rooney (21 goals)
BPL Manager of the Year: Hedges (Arsenal)

Promoted for 2016/17: Burnley, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest
Relegated for 2016/17: Sunderland, Watford, Bournemouth

            ---------------------------------------------

            Squad Update

I always disable the first summer window as I want to begin with as close to accurate rosters as possible, so my first transfer window was Jan. 2016. The biggest splash was a deadline day deal for Gareth Bale (£51M) from Real Madrid. I was only able to use him a few times, as I lost him to injury for the season. I also brought in M’Baye Niang from AC Milan for £6.5M.

In the midfield, I brought in (real life transfer) Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel for £2.5M.

In defense, I brought in 2 young promising CB’s in Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen (£4M) and Olivier Boscagli from Nice (£750K).

So I now sit ready to enter into the Summer 2016 transfer window, and don’t know what, if any moves I will make. I’d like to loan out some of my youth players to get experience—as they aren’t ‘Arsenal Quality’ just yet, and would receive little to no playing time if left on my squad. I’m using a 4-3-3 which is very similar to real life:

            Sanchez | Giroud | Bale

            Ramsey | Ozil | Coquelin

            Monreal | Koscielny | Gabriel | Bellerin

            Cech
            ---------------------------------------------

            Summer 2016 Transfer Window

I have a lot of young attackers/wingers (Iwobi, Gnabry, Silva, Akpom) that really just won’t see the pitch much.

Midfield is solid too with bench players: Cazorla, Wilshere, Elneny, Flamini

Main defensive 2nd team: Gibbs, Mertesacker, Tah, Boscagli, Chambers

I was thinking about going for either Mats Hummels or Raphael Varane in the CB position, and also perhaps a young promising CDM and CAM—as I really don’t get the value out of Cazorla because Ozil plays so much.

Anyway, thanks for reading and I look forward to Season 2!

Why are you bidding for Ntep? You can get him for free if you can wait to recieve him in the summer?

With the formation I have currently it uses two wingers, and I am trying to sell one of those wingers (Kevin Mirallas) so I would need a replacement this year or I would have to change formations. Thus, I could try to bring in Ntep or another winger on the cheap in the last year of their deal. I could sign him on a free, but then I wouldn't have a replacement for this season.

Welcome back to my FIFA 16 AC Milan Career Mode!

In this episode we face arguably the biggest game of the series so far when we visit Arsenal in the 2nd leg of the champions league round of 16 tie. We also look to kick on in the league and extend our lead on Napoli against the likes of Pescara and finish off things with a Milan derby.

Arsenal Football Club | July Update

Starting with an update from EURO 2016, England reached the semifinals against Germany, and were defeated 5-4 on PK. Germany went on to face Spain in the final, and defeated them 2-1 to win EURO 2016 on the heels of winning the World Cup in 2014. Sights are now set on Russia 2018…

Arsenal have made their big splash in the summer transfer window, bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Everton, for £20M + Per Mertesacker. Arsenal, with nearly £60M in the bank, find this to be a super bargain—as they also unload the veteran German, Mertesacker. The Gunners hate to see him go, but with his understudy Jonathan Tah growing rapidly, Per’s time on the pitch was becoming increasingly limited.

Romelu Lukaku brought in for £20M + Mertesacker

The move for Lukaku pushes Olivier Giroud likely to the #2 striker—which leaves really no room for January signee M'Baye Niang, who has agreed to transfer to Udinese for £11M.

In other transfer news, Arsenal have also brought in Ryan Gauld, a central attacking midfielder from Scotland, currently playing for Sporting CP in Portugal for £7M. Gauld, just 21 years old would appear to now be the next man up to fill the CAM role if/when Mesut Ozil moves on from the club.

Ryan Gauld brought in for £7M

Arsenal have also received offers for Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey—neither of which are believed to be departing the club. They are, however, actively shopping both Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.

Also from Sporting CP, Arsenal have their eyes on William Carvalho in the CDM position to play alongside Francis Coquelin. Scouts are also currently reporting on Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, who they feel they could get for significantly less money.

Lastly, the Gunners have been linked to 3 very high profile centrebacks: Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), and John Stones (Everton). It is unclear whether or not they will make an offer for any of them to play in the right CB position alongside team captain Laurent Koscielny—as these three will come at quite the price, and Gabriel currently sits in the RCB postion at just 25 years old.
