    2015-16 Bundesliga
    Match Week #13
    10 November 2015
    Signal Iduna Park | Dortmund

DORTMUND STRIKE EARLY, HOLD OFF SCHALKE 2-0

DORTMUND -- Borussia Dortmund would strike for 2 goals in the first quarter of an hour from a dreary Signal Iduna Park, sinking rival FC Schalke. Sven Bender would be the first to find the back of the net, just 6 minutes into the match. Dortmund's 2nd goal would come from a penalty from a handball (blocked shot) just 6 minutes later. That would be all the offense they would need as Burki earned his (league leading) 4th clean sheet.

Dortmund would fire 23 shots at Schalke including a missed penalty by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the death. The win puts Dortmund back into 2nd place in the Bundesliga, heading into the November International Break. They are currently 7 points behind leaders Bayern Munich--who they drew earlier in the year.

Hedges is also the German National Team Manager, and has selected Marco Reus, Ginter, Gündoğan, and Mats Hummels for the friendly matches vs Bulgaria and New Zealand. These are all tune-up matches for Euro 2016 which looms next June/July.

The European championship or Euro cup in career mode feels like an afterthought to me. I did win the competition with Bulgaria national team but the game play felt so different. The players are either sluggish or the amount of wrong passes are just enormous. It just felt like another game in a game. I don't see myself continuing with international teams in career mode. Everything that could be wrong with it is just wrong.
Funny thing was when the season resumed and I played a few league games I was able to appreciate how much better the league games were compared to the international ones.

Yeah, I notice this too. In my head I just try to explain it away b/c the players aren't training together so the game is a little less organized. haha. I did find that when I played the World Cup that I didn't notice the sluggishness as the competition went on - but maybe that was just me getting used to it. Perhaps play international games with a different pace setting?

Finished another two games last night. Both very good games, realistic, though I didn't get a win (I am AFC Bournemouth after all).

First was at Anfield, and got a fairly quick red card that didn't help at all. Lallana scored in the 39th, Iturbe managed to tie it up in the 59th, but then Liverpool scored two within 5 minutes of each other to cement the game as a 3-1 away loss for me. No complaints about this game.

Second was away at West Ham, played a much better and cleaner game. Boruc continued his incredible run and notched his first clean sheet, but we couldn't score either. 0-0 tie on the road, very good game once again, so I can't complain!

Next match is home vs. Ipswich in the Capital One Cup round 2. Going to move the difficulty down to World Class for that one. All the EPL games have been at Legendary, 15 minutes. I think I've played well enough in the three games there to merit a break against Ipswich (nor is it a sure thing!).

Ugh, this is accurate. In my Leyton Orient CM, it was EARLY August and I looked at BPL table and it said they had already played like 6 or 7 matches

ORIENT'S CAPITAL ONE CUP RUN ENDS VS WOLVES

EAST LONDON – Leyton Orient’s dream run in the Capital One Cup has come to an end at the hands of Woverhampton, by the score line of 1 goal to nil. Welsh international David Edwards scored the game’s only goal in the 82’ for Wolves, pushing them through to the quarterfinals, and a match with Premier League side Sunderland.

Conditions were less than favorable from Brisbane Road, and the rainy night saw Orient only fire 3 of their 15 shots on target. To make matters worse, the O's saw their starting striker, Jay Simpson have to leave the match early to a concussion--and is expected to be out 3 weeks. Good news on the injury front is that captain Kevin Nolan is expected back in the next 1-2 weeks and will provide not only leadership, but also some offensive fire power.

Check out the first leg of the Champions League Seim-final vs Manchester City in my Arsenal MM. The treble is still alive, as I am 2nd in the league (to Man City, who I still play), I'm in the FA Cup Final vs Man United (split the season series; away team winning both), and in the semi-finals of the UCL...

Very nice video JH - I'm sure it sucked to lose on a penalty like that.

To update on my CM - finished my 2nd year with Chelsea a few weeks ago and have taken a break for a little since then but will be continuing it soon. Unfortunately it was a very disappointing season despite a lot of big moves.

Notable purchases after year 1 were:
                                • Lewandowski
                                • Pogba
                                • Piszczek

Notable departures after year 1 were:
                                • Bale
                                • Matic
                                • Oscar
                                • Costa

                                Winter purchases during year 2
                                • Koke
                                • Candreva
                                • Isco

Notable winter departures during year 2
                                • Pedro

Pogba and Lewandowski were just absolutely amazing for me but Pogba missed a lot of time with injuries. Struggling during the winter I gambled with some moves. Koke fit in nicely but didn't make as big impact as I wanted. Isco was big time impact and probably the best purchase I could have made. Unfortunately, Candreva was a big flop and I started to wish I held on to Pedro toward the end of the season.

Despite such a drastic winter shake up I finished with no trophies and 4th in the EPL. Arsenal ended up doing the Treble by winning the EPL, CL, and FA Cup. Manchester United did the Double by winning the Capital One Cup and the Europa Cup. After a disappointing season and flopping in every competition this was kind of the cherry on top. Oddly enough United finished 6th in the EPL and Arsenal is now back to back champions.

I don't think I will make much roster movement during this summer. Candreva I will try to move and Kennedy will become my main winger off the bench once his loan spell with Valencia ends. I will also look into buying Sané and another DM perhaps. After winning FA Cup and CL in year 1 and flopping year 2, I feel year 3 I need to bring back some silverware or I'll be sacked.
