I'm close to finishing year 1 with Arsenal, and hopes of the Treble are still alive. Gotta comeback from that 1-0 defeat at The Etihad though.Arsenal | New York YankeesComment

I need some feedback guys, if you wouldn’t mind.
I’ve created a page over at Dynasty Nation—which hopefully many of you have already checked out(http://www.dynastynationnetwork.com/...cer&u=JHedges2)
Check out the page please, and I’m curious if you think the ‘photos’ feature is worth my time? It’s a bit of work to keep an eye out for photos to capture, then post to photobucket, then update the page. If it’s dumb, and nobody really looks at them, then I won’t continue with them, and only post highlights from the matches (that I’ve steadily been improving on; quality wise (I hope!)).
Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I am also thinking about disbanding the page altogether, (as STLDucks did), given that the site doesn’t get NEARLY the traffic that a thread does here.
Cheers!Arsenal | New York YankeesComment

ARSENAL CRUISE BY CANARIES 3 - 1
LONDON – From a beautiful sun-drenched Emirates Stadium, Arsenal gained their revenge from promoted side Norwich, with a 3 goals to 1 defeat of the Canaries. Arsenal, only having lost 3 matches all year, one of which was from a dreary Carrow Road in the dead of winter, found 3 goals all from first time goal scorers this season. The goals were supplied by Mathieu Flamini, Joel Campbell, and youngster Alex Iwobi, who came on to keep Theo Walcott fresh for the Gunners’ Champions League clash on Wednesday night with Manchester City.

Flamini opened the scoring in the 18’ after forcing a turnover deep in Norwich territory, which enabled him to easily net his first goal of the season. Norwich answered immediately, and stunned the Gunner supporters as the score leveled. After more sloppy play from the back four of Norwich, Costa Rican international Joel Campbell was able to sneak one in the far post to give the Gunners the lead that they would not relinquish.

Young Nigerian Alex Iwobi wound find his first goal nearly at the death, as the Gunners were able to penetrate the high press and Iwobi fired a shot off the keeper that was deflected into the net. Iwobi came on for Theo Walcott around the hour mark, as Arsenal hoped to keep him fresh for the 2nd leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.

Arsenal defeated City 1-0 at The Emirates earlier this year in the Premier League, and then City returned the favor last week in the first leg from The Etihad, 1-0. The two meet Wednesday, with the winner set to face either Barcelona or PSG, neither a small task. Barcelona won their first leg 2-1. The all English semi-final will be played again on Saturday from The Etihad in their 2nd league clash of the season. Arsenal currently sit 2nd on the table, and can finish no worse. They are 2 points behind City, who also have a game in hand.

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
Since the January transfer closed in real life I've been doing a "nomad" manager career. A lengthy recap below.
Spoiler
I started out at Sandefjord in Norway. They're a pretty awful side, but I was able to muddle through the league with some success. The board's objective was to stay out of the bottom, and I did that fine.
In April (2016), Preston turned to me in hopes I could guide them out of the Championship's relegation zone. I bit, I packed my bags for Lancashire, and promptly went down to League One.
2016-17 was a nice reset. We started off slowly with no wins, one loss, and five draws to start the campaign. We turned it around and mostly tore the league up. We hit the skids in the final weeks of the season, and choked away the title in the final game. Still finished second (to Millwall), and gained automatic promotion.
2017-18 looked grim now that we were back in the Championship. We didn't have much money, and the squad was less talented than the one that was relegated a year earlier. Daniel Johnson was our best player, but I couldn't keep him after Swansea came calling. I sold the keeper, who fetched 2 million Euros, and I was able to cobble together 5 million in all.
I invested in higher end talents (rather than more bodies/depth) in Connor Goldson for the back, and the big bucks going to Gio Simeone (yes, Deigo's son) at River Plate. We had to good youth keepers ready to step in and compete for the job.
Our start to 17-18 was ok, but Simeone went down in game two for four months with a knee injury. Goldson quickly established himself as the team's leader, and surprise depth fill-in striker Lee Angol managed to stem the scoring tide a bit. It was mostly ugly, but this damn team was grinding like hell.
We kept our heads above water in the first half, integrated some mediocre youths into the squad rotation, and then Gio Simeone came back. It was immediately clear we finally had a truly dangerous attacking player. Gio pretty much ran the show himself in the opponent's half. Lee Angol benefitted mightily and put up a surprising 13 goals in the Championship. Angol managed to edge out freak athlete youth academy product Temitope Duckworth for a starting role. Duckworth was good, but Angol just got on a roll.
Simeone was just a warrior for us coming back after injury. Played every minute of every single remaining game. Was happy the whole time, didn't want a raise, nothing. Consumate team guy.
We finished the campaign 13th, which was a great achievement.
2018-2019 saw few changes to the squad. The board gave us no money. Chelsea offered us 1.8 million Euros for Duckworth, and so, one of my first youths left the fold.
We used the money to add some depth to the midfield, and fullbacks, reinvested in the youth academy. My goal was to have enough depth to meet the Board's mid-table expectation, AND achieve the round of 16 Cup goal.
I don't know what the hell happened, but we started out on fire, and just rode it all season. Simeone played every minute in the first half, and though we were less talented than almost every other squad, we managed to be in first in the Championship at Christmas. The two academy keepers (Matt Bunney and Aaron Davis really emerged and were both 68ovr going into the season).
On the last day of the January transfer window Athletic Bilbao offered 20 million for Simeone. After all he'd done for the club in his season and a half I had to let him go play in the Primera. I was able to bring in some nice pieces from corners of the Eredivisie, and we continued on quite well.
In the end we couldn't win as many as Forest, and finished three points behind them, but miraculously achieved a second place finish, and automatic promotion to the PL. Even I was stunned—my Preston squad was one of the worst Championship sides on paper. Only Simeone was really a borderline top flight player (was 76 ovr when sold). Just a lot of heart and soul. Loved these two years at Preston.
In June Celta Vigo offered me a job. They had finished 6th in the previous campaign. Suddenly I had 60 million Euros in transfer budget, and 208,000 in wages. And then I looked at the squad. The Celta brass had done some work over the past couple seasons. This was the starting formation I saw:
Nolito (83)--Aspas (78)--Drazic (77)
Bongonda (82)-R. Sanches (83)-Kasami (83)
Jonny (79)--Gomez (81)----(Fontas 78)--Mallo (81)
Sergio (76)
and a few of the bench players: Orellana (81); Guidetti (77); (Mandina 77); Goldar (75);Hoilett (75), and on and on.
I sold Sergio and Orellana (33 years old), and brought in my youth guy Matt Bunney. Cagliari offered me 22 million for Guidetti, and in looking for a replacement, I noticed Duckworth at Chelsea was now a 78ovr and an absolute beast. I brought him in for 23 million.
Heading into 2019-2020 is a crazy change for me. I've been grinding out wins in Norway and at Preston for three seasons, and now I'm managing this crazy talented squad. I finished the previous season beating Peterborough Unit, and I opened the next against Real Madrid, and won 2-0.
Who knows how long I'll be at Celta, but man, is it a wild talent upgrade. That said, I'll still be watching from afar, and cheering for my Preston team to avoid relegation from the PL.Comment

Pre-Match - Looking to carry the momentum from a big NLD victory. Spurs host Swansea City who are trying to start a streak of their own after falling to Chelsea last weekend. Christian Eriksen comes into tonight's match towards the top of the league in goals, tied with teammate Harry Kane at 11 a piece.
Jan Vertoghen remains out for the Spurs after suffering an ankle injury in the West Ham match.

Post Match
Great victory for us tonight. Changing tactics pre-match to really have Kane press the back line and moved up Drexler and Lamela to more of a winger position instead of midfield really opened things up and really caused havoc for the Swansea back line. We will see next week if these tactics are going to be working or if Swansea just made a few mistakes but for today we will take it and celebrate the 3pts.
Dier suffered a broke toe and is expected to miss the next 2 months of the season which will be a crucial time. Dele Alli will be called upon to step in beside Dembele to secure the midfield.
Man of the Match
Adding 2 more goals to his name, 13 on the season now. Harry Kane was named MOTM.

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
Def thought it was a foul on Giroud at 40:00!!! Had lots of chances, just couldn't finish
Sucks to miss out on the Treble. Still alive in the league though. Just drew City (UGH--tired of playing them lol), I sit 2 points back with 2 to go (both home v Crystal Palace and Aston Villa). City plays I think Chelsea and Southampton.
Also in the FA Cup Final v United...
