Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
Also I'm sure most of you guys have seen it already, but if you haven't the FIFA producer blog on player development is excellent. Makes me look at my players differently in manager mode.
The game just got deeper for me.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
If you haven't read it, and you play Manager Mode, this is must read IMO.
Potential - Keep an eye on how fast a player is collecting experience points; the faster he is going up the further away from his potential he is. This in turn means there’s a lot of room to grow for this player.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
I had forgotten about the off-season growth. That will be a good surprise after my next game... hopefully. Haven't seen much growth through one season, with about 8 or so players going up only one point.
The 2009-10 Duestcher Pokal final of Hamburger SV v. Borussia Dortmund is about to kickoff. Wish me luck...
EDIT: Crap. Half of their starting 11 are in good form.
DFB POKAL LIVE BLOG
10' -- Zidan scores! A quick counter off a Hamburg corner sees Falcao & Zidan get a step on the last two defenders. Falcao slides it over to Zidan for a tap-in and a 1-0 lead!
14' -- Alex Silva heads wide on Hamburg's 3rd corner of the game. HSV is pulling no punches, with six shot attempts already.
20' -- We're level at 1-1. Hamburg stings together several cutting passes, leaving Jose Paulo Guerrero with space in the box to first-time a rocket past a helpless Weidenfeller.
27' -- Subotic misses a golden opportunity to put Dortmund ahead. His header went wildly over the bar after a beautiful backpost run on a corner.
31' -- An intricate 1-2 between Zidan & Oskar leads to a shot millimeters outside the post. Damn you manual shooting!
37' -- Zidan is booked for a careless sliding challenge. Guerrero fired just wide during the advantage.
You have got to be kidding me. The game froze at the halftime highlights. Un-friggin-believable.Last edited by Qb; 01-22-2010, 11:31 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
Finished my second season of suck, my first with Exeter City.
I was 23/24 on the table. Pro was a rough transition for me.
BUT! I went into my third season, and opted to stay with them and we're off to a good start. We lost our first game 3-1, but haven't lost since. Won our cup match in extra time against Bury 2-1 in dramatic fashion. And we're off to a 4-1 start to the season as I've finally gotten the hang of things.
I practiced my free kicks tonight and got the top spin down much better. And wouldn't you know it, in our second game we were tied 1-1 and got a free kick in the 90th minute from 37 yards.....and NAILED it! It was my first I've ever hit. I was seriously jumping up and down.
Now I'm playing young guys and watching a few really blossom.
So addicted....PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
Good to hear that the 15 minute halves are working out. Did you mention that you were using adjusted tactics or default?
I started a MM with Roma and am using the EA updated default tactics which work pretty well. I'd love to go to 15 minute halves though. How many fouls were called against you?
Congrats on reaching the Cup finals. That'll keep the dummies on the Board off your case for a while. I'm in second position behind Lazio 23 games into the season but got knocked out by Parma in the Coppa Italia and I'm under fire. Ridiculous. I've lost a total of 7 games in the season. 3 times to Parma(2 in the cup), Palermo, Juve, Lazio, and Bologna.
Thanks!YNWAComment

League: Barclays Premier League
Team: Hull City
Difficulty: World Class
Objectives: Avoid Relegation(Currently in 14th), make it to the 4th round of the FA Cup (Currently in the 3rd Round).
Key Transfer (Sold)- Vennegoor of hesselink: 4.5m
Key Transfer (Purchased/Scouted)- Jovetic (CF-78: Fiorentina): 8.2m. Bonneto-Brazil (CM-76): 2m. Olsen-Denmark (CAM-79): 2.2m. Maria Capriari-Spain (ST-77): 2.1m.
Cups:
English Cup: Currently made it to the 4th round, soon to play Everton.
FA Cup: Currently made it to the 3rd round.
League Table: (6-4-8: 14th) Started out the season very well, 2-1-1, 8th in the table. Wins against Tottenham and Sunderland, draw against Chelsea, and then took a thrashing at the hands of Stoke City. After my great start, Halmosi, my star LM went down for 4 weeks, then my star ST Altidore was out for 2 weeks after Halmosi returned. We went 1-1-5 through those 7 or 8 weeks, with many tough losses. We should have knocked off both Arsenal and Man U, and Liverpool got a last second goal from Torres to win 1-0. We seemed to play well against top teams, and then struggle with the bottom feeders. Managed to win all the cup games though. Lately we have been playing well, although we played against Burnely and Fulham, who were 19th and 20th in the table. We have gone 3-2-2 in our last 7 games, and are about to play Everton in the 4th round or the English Cup.
Top Scorers: Altidore-11(Hat Trick against Burnely), Jovetic-4, Maria Capriari-4Last edited by XxKraigD320xX; 01-24-2010, 07:30 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
Can anyone shed some light on the "15 minute halves" deal? What are the benefits of this? I hear you all talk about getting your players form back up to normal, is that the only up side to playing ridiculously long games? At this moment, 18 games into the season, the squad is probably 60% (10-12 players) orange or declining form, 30%(5-7 players) normal or in form, and the remaining 10%(2-3 players are growing or are in good form.Last edited by XxKraigD320xX; 01-24-2010, 07:56 PM.Comment

A lot of are going to 15 minutes because we get more fouls and a game where you don't feel rushed to score if you give up a goal.
I've been wanting to play 15 minute halves since FIFA 08 but it was impossible because the shot numbers would be way too high.Comment

Re: FIFA 10 MANAGER MODE Progress thread
Just one, the DFB Pokal. The DFB used to have another cup at the start of the season consisting of the top 5 teams from the Bundesliga and the cup winner, but as far as I can tell it was discontinued after 2007.
The German cup format is correct as far as legs; only one leg in all rounds with ET and penalties for draws after 90 minutes. However, the real tournament consists of 64 teams, but just like the FA Cup, regional/non-league teams aren't in the game so they have to tweak it to work.
To elaborate on what beavers said, go to "My Skills and Stats" under the virtual pro menu. You'll see 5 or 6 categories of attributes -- physical, mental, defense, etc. Choose one of those and you'll see individual attributes. As you scroll over these, there will be a brief description to the right of what each attribute does.
The DfB-Cup is pretty complecated, since every team in the whole country (even the official (faggod) team in the neighbourhood could make it through several pretournaments. We actually almost made it, pretty funny, and we are like 8th league in the country, but that's another thing.
However I love seeing you guys having fun with Borussia Dortmund. They seriously have the most comitted fan-base on this planet. You would never see any club, even Manchaster United, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, or especially any italian club (their fans are pretty bad anyways) who have an average of 75000 people watching even though they are in serious trouble to stay in the 1. Bundesliga. Right now they are 4th, which is pretty incredible, but we, as the Borussia fans, are enjoying this state so much and we talking about fans who where used to celebrate the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE in 1997. There fan base is most comitted in the whole world. No exagguerations!!! If you guys want some pics or vids, I am glad to provide you with some...
My favourite is actually being at the celebration game due to their 100th birthday and they played Real Madrid at home, last summer and they played great, had lots of possibilities and stuff weren't successful and changed the whole team in the second half. Real turned out to use every freaking change in an incredible way. Dortmund lost 0-5 but the crowd was celebrating having a continious Mexican Wave for the last 15 minutes of the game. Tell me any fan base who would do that instead of being pissed and freak out on their team. I was so impressed.
And before you judge, saying well it was just a great experiance for them, remember that just a couple years ago Dortmund was regualarly competing in the UEFA Champions League!!
I love my Borussia...oh and by the way **** Schalke...no fun there!!!Basketball Champions League Roster http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ns-league.htmlComment
