Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Luckily I have an extra save file right before the last matchproblem solved right? Nope. Everything is back to normal until I play through that match and then once again I can only take 5 subs instead of 7.
I haven't used any cheats or anything like that. The only thing I can think of is that I have a player on loan with future fee and perhaps that's what messing it up. Doesn't make much sense but what else could it beComment

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Oh God... I feel so dumb now. So I kept on trying a bunch of different things to fix this right. Until I decided to just sim past the next match: a J PAINT TROPHY FIXTURE. I know I know! You already know what it is I bet!!
So I simmed past it and realized that after that match I go back to 7 subs. Thinking it was just coincidence, I reloaded and tried it again. Yep, 7 subs are back after the match. So I reloaded and tried it AGAIN. And sure enough, the subs are back.
And then it hit me.
I quickly grabbed my phone and googled "J Paint Trophy rules" (surprisingly the rule book actually came up and not somebody literally saying that the tournament rules...) I read through the whole rule book until finally reaching the part of the substitutions and guess what? You'll never believe it... Are you ready? ONLY 5 SUBS ARE PERMITTED IN THIS CUP TOURNAMENT.
Yep. There it is, and my life can go back to normal again. Touché EA, for actually putting the right rules in the match by the way.
Okay. I'm ready for the laughs. Let's hear it! I can take it! HahaLast edited by _ChicoBass; 06-03-2014, 03:25 AM.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Started a CM using Bradford City of League 1 (kits are sick). My goal is to be in the Premier League within 4 years. I'm using Gonira's legendary/manual sliders and playing 15 min halves and I intend on not simming any games.
Summer Transfer Window: I didn't go too crazy in the summer transfer window, I just loaned out a few young players and brought in 19yo center midfielder Gael Bigirimana from Newcastle on loan with a future fee of 350,000 pounds. I also signed 22yo RB Tarik Camdal. Also brought in Julian Green on loan from Bayern. In the winter transfer window I hope on buying another winger and possibly a young CB.
The board gave me an objective of fighting for promotion (which is pretty reasonable I think).
I've played ten games so far and my record is 5-2-3 with 2 of my 3 losses coming in cup matches.
So far with 8 games played in the league we have 17 points and sit 3rd in the table behind Bristol City (18 points) and Peterborough (22 points), and our leading goal scorer is James Hanson with 5. Other standout players have been midfielders Gael Bigrimana, Chris Atkinson, and Gary Jones. CB Andrew Davies and LM Mark Yeates have also played very well. We've been knocked out of the J.Paint trophy and the Capital One Cup which I'm not too worried about being that my biggest goal is gaining promotion to the Championship next year. Our next game is home against Wolves which will be tough considering the talent they have but I think the boys can pull away 3 points!
Was not sure if I wanted to post about this CM or not which is why I don't have scores and what not in this one but in the future I will!! I will update every 5 games or so.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Decided that I'm going to update every month and being that we only have one game left in September this will be a one game update based on our game against Wolves.
Bradford City 1-0 Wolverhampton
In a sloppy game in which both teams failed to create good scoring opportunities up until the second half Bradford City came out on top. In the 59th minute Wolves defender dove in on a tackle in the box which resulted in him being sent off and Bradford City given a penalty. Struggling forward Aaron Mcclean, who's only found the back of the net one time in 7 league appearances, stepped up to the spot and had his attempt saved by the keeper, but with only ten men Wolves were unable to stop Bradford City from creating chances and in the 65th minute they got their breakthrough on a corner kick which was headed in by CB Andrew Davies. This win puts Bradford City at 2nd place in the table with 9 games played with 20 points right behind Peterborough (22 points).
[B]Next Game: Bristol CityComment

QPR 1-6 Liverpool
Diakite 26
Rodriguez 33
Balotelli 38
Balotelli 45
Pastore 49
Balotelli 79
Rodriguez 86
In another annihilation of QPR, Diakite gave them the lead rolling the ball under Mignolet. Rodriguez equalized slotting in after some good play and Balo got one after tackling Julio Cesar and tapping into the empty net. He got another one smashing in on the turn. Just after half time, Pastore curled into the corner off the post before Balo got his hat trick by smashing in from 30 yards. Rodriguez made it 6 after running clear of the defence.
Match 21
Liverpool 3-0 Everton
Balotelli 20
Balotelli 39
Pastore 50
Mario opened the scoring with a light shot that went in off the post. An excellent cross from De Sciglio found Balotelli who headed in expertly for his second. The third came when Pastore ran in and had his shot saved, only to collect the rebound and slot into an empty net.
FA Cup Match 1
Liverpool 2-1 Spurs
Ings 3
Eriksen 48
Sterling 82
Ings opened the scoring early on with a header from a great cross by Borini. Eriksen split apart my defence to score just after half time but Sterling's first time shot found the bottom corner to win the match.
League Cup Semi Final Leg 1
Liverpool 3-2 Manchester United
Balotelli 6
Welbeck 9
Pastore 58
Van Persie 82
Pastore 88
Balotelli gave us the lead early on before Welbeck ran clear and slotted in at the second time of asking. Pastore regained our lead before Van Persie headed in. Pastore won it after skipping through the defence and smashing into the top corner.
Match 22
Liverpool 4-0 West Brom
Balotelli 6
Rodriguez 10
Pastore 67
Pastore 71
Balotelli headed in a De Sciglio cross before Rodriguez won the ball from the kick off and beat the defence to score. Pastore nodded in a Balo cross before he himself won the ball from the kick off and after a short passing move fired home. The injury crisis continued though, with Fernando tearing his hip flexor and will be out for 6 weeks.
Match 23
Aston Villa 0-2 Liverpool
Rodriguez 17
Rodriguez 74
James scored twice, both times excellently moving through the defence. The first time chipping the keeper, the second less elegantly smashing in.
League Cup Semi Final Leg 2
Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool (3-5 agg)
Welbeck 20
Balotelli 33
Lallana 51
United got the lead through Welbeck when a nervous Ginter, making his debut, let him run free to smash pass another débutante in goal, Scribe. Balo equalised with a headed effort before Lallana smashed in the winner.
FA Cup Match 2
Liverpool 2-0 Peterborough
Shaw 25
Ings 80
Peterborough played really well but left back Shaw smashed in from distance to give us the lead. McCann missed a penalty for Posh and Ings ran clear to win it.
January Thoughts
We have made even more strength in depth, moving on players that are not progressing. Lots of midfield and central defenders to cope with a hectic schedule in the coming months.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
in my AD Alcorcon career, I'm torn as to whether I should sell my best player (70 OVR CB whose name escapes me right now). On one hand my goal is to improve my roster to have MORE players with ratings at 70+, but on the other hand I could use the funds to acquire more talent.
Thoughts?vrabbit

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I think I am going to start a career with RC Deportivo. They have a horribly low transfer budget (only 250k), but they have some solid talent. I think I will have to sell off some of the better players that are a little older (since they won't grow much, I don't mind old players) in order to get some money to bring in some promising players. The budget is even too low to really even be able to set up a youth academy right away, but I do plan for that to play a large part in this career.
Anyway, I wanted to get a lower league team that is in a promotion/relegation style country, but I wanted to get out of England since I have done too many careers there. This one will be a challenge, but still gives me some decent players to begin with. I'll have to be strategic with my first transfer window.
I really need LB/RB, CDM/CM, and a LM. I know I won't be able to address all of those in the first window, but I am hoping to get 2. But really that could even be a stretch. I guess it all depends on who I am willing to let go, and how much I can get for them.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Really looking for help here, I had a Wolverhampton career mode which I got sacked from -_- because I didn't qualify for Europa league in my second season in the prem ( btw not because I am bad I sim 80-90% of my games due to me being kid exam season and not having a lot of time to play ) because of this I went looking for another job and saw Nottingham forest has 103mik transfer budget and something like 500k wage so snapped up the job quickly but now I am stuck to who to get in that would actually come since I am still in championship ( god knows how ) and to get players that would keep a bit of realism I am in 2017 so I know that makes it harder but I need all positions if you have any idea on players to go for it would be much appreciated thanksComment

Kelvin - RW from FC Porto
Elber - CAM from Cruzeiro
Pavel Mamaev - CM from Krasnodar
Gabriel - CDM from Botafogo
Ronan - LB from Fluminense
Jao Cancelo - RB from SL Benfica
Terence Kongolo - CB from Feyenord
As for Striker it all depends on which type you like. Do you want a dribbler who can create on his own? I speedster who uses his pace to break away from defenders? Or a Target man who is the big guy in the middle you send crosses into and who does well in hold up play?
I picked out these guys since they don't have crazy starting ratings (although I'm not sure what they will be at by 2017 where you are), but the main factor was that none of them are in an especially prestigious league. I think it's realistic to think that a club in the Championship that just got a huge budget looking to spend big is likely to be playing in the Premier League in a year and they could be attracted to that.Comment
