Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    SuperCup España*
    1st Leg
    Barcelona 0-3 Atletico Madrid
    Diego Costa 36'
    Adrian 39'
    Diego Costa 81'
Ok I'm going to do a short summary of crucial games from now on just because it adds a little something.
Barcelona were dominating the ball and had a lot of shots but not quite on target
Messi hit the post once in dying stages and Pique missed a crucial 1v1 vs Courtois in the 76th minute. Adrian almost got the opener with a free kick that hit the post.
Costa gave us the lead with a goal coming through a defender mess up. Adrian got the rebound of a Turan shot 3 minutes later. Costa later put the nail in the coffin with a great header in the 81st minute. It looks like Atletico have sealed it by the shape of things right now.
But now, Dortmund have accepted a counter offer of £45 million for Diego Costa!
I don't think da Silva wanted to sell him but he just had a ridiculous go of £45 million as a counter offer for Costa. Will Costa be sold to Dortmund or will negotiations fade? Who will replace Costa if he goes?
    Cliffhanger..............

The Atletico one is fine because it's quite different from mine so it would still be entertaining . As for my opinion I think you should go for the PSG one as 1) It has a unique storyline and 2) You seem to like doing it so it would be great for you also.

PSG - Return to Glory - So PSG have breached FFP rules and the chairman of PSG, Nasser al-Khelaifi, has been bribing UEFA officials. All the money from PSG is gone and furthermore, the players have left. PSG are now in Ligue 2 with no money and must return to glory. This may be interesting for me as I enjoy rebuilding teams and this is what this career mode requires.
I am voting for PSG because it has a story line that I was thinking about a while ago with Man City but I just couldn't find motivation to do, so it would be fun to read how other people do in a similar situation. It also looks like one you will enjoy the most. Failing that I like the Dortmund idea.

          PSV

Barcelona 3-0 PSV - Champions League

          (Xavi 39', Messi 64', 82')

My first Champions League game didn't go to plan with Arias going down early in the game. Barcelona played like BARCELONA. Xavi scored when my defence was split open giving him the easy finish pass Zoet. Messi first goal was a exact replica before smashing one from range to finish us off. Barcelona had 90% pass accuracy.

PSV 1-2 FC Utrecht - Eredivisie

          (Locadia 52', Rekik RC 90')
          (Mulenga 76', Carreno (PEN) 90')

We played extremely well and it showed when Locadia slotted one. after this though we stopped causing us to concede in the 76th, however, Zoet should of saved it. We conceded a 90th minute penalty after Rekik slid into the striker also causing him to be sent off. This game in the end was disappointing.[/CENTER]

NAC Breda 1-1 PSV - Eredivisie

          (Lurling 13')
          (Matavz 30')

Resting most of the side due to the Champions League match on the tuesday I was worried about fielding out a weaken team. We went down early after the penalty saved by Tyton bounced back to the Lurling the penalty taker before Matavz headed home to tie up the game up in the 30th. They dominated the whole game and if it wasn't for Tyton our backup keeper we would of lost.

Man City 2-2 PSV - Champions League

          (Aguero 58', Silva 62)
          (Locadia 15', 65')

Man City dominated the whole game with 20 shot to our 5. However, Locadia suprised the home side with a header passing Hart. They attacked, attacked and attacked until the half but couldn't score, Tyton was playing a amazing game. The 58th minute was the beginning of 8 minutes of craziness when Aguero equalising with a nice goal into the far corner before Silva gave City the lead 4 minutes later a cross from Depay gave Locadia the easy header to rescue a point in this tough group.

          PSV 2-0 Go Ahead Eagles

          (Bakkali 77', Locadia 91')

We attacked and attacked GOE from the word go but couldn't capitalise until the 77th when Bakkali ping one from just inside the box. We finished the game off with a counter when GAE attacked with Locadia scoring. Giving us the first since the first game of the season.

Next Match is against league leaders Vitesse.

Man United Career Mode Update #3

VAN PERSIE OUT FOR 2 MONTHS

Just when RVP came back from a three month absence he picks up another injury. Starting to lose patience with him, he's scored 2 goals in only 7 games this season. If Hernandez didn't step up to the plate there's no way I would be where I am. Top 5 after 18 games.

            MAN UNITED - 40
            Man City - 38
            Chelsea - 38
            Liverpool - 37
Arsenal - 36 (with one game in hand)

Table opened up a bit ahead of the January Transfer Window.
Swansea are the surprise package 3 points behind Arsenal 6th.
Whilst Everton have made the ultimate drop into 11th losing 5 games in a row.

In Europe I have been drawn against Porto in the L16 , following a dramatic last group stage match in which I scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to win 4-3 against Napoli and hold on to top spot in my group.

Hello guys! I haven't posted for a while because I still don't know what to do. At the moment I'm doing a Real Madrid career but you probably wouldn't enjoy it. Then again, you probably wouldn't enjoy anything I did. Anyway, do you have any suggestions for a career mode team? I'm thinking about Leverkusen and Sevilla and a not so great Premier League team.

And for the guys who asked, I vote for Coventry City and Dortmund career. Also, remember that BVB bought Adrian Ramos aswell!

                Making Them Dream
                SEASON 3

                Match 34

                Liverpool 3-1 Swansea
                Canas 33
                Lallana 37
                McManaman 48
                Balotelli 65

Canas gave the Welsh club the lead rolling in to the bottom corner, but Lallana equalised with a volley into the roof of the net. Immediately after half time, McManaman headed in and Balotelli got one with a header from a corner. Unfortunately Ings picked up a Hyper Extended Knee and will be out until the Champions League Final.

                Match 35

                Liverpool 4-0 Manchester City
                Pastore 12
                Pastore 38
                Schar 59
                Pastore 71

Pastore got another hat trick, firstly running clear of Varane to curl home. Rodriguez then whipped in a free kick that Pastore headed in at the far post. Balo then did the unthinkable when Pantilimon saved his penalty. Fortunately, from the resultant corner, Schar headed in. Pastore got his hat trick chipping the keeper.

                Match 36

                Hull 0-1 Liverpool
                McManaman 5
McManaman scored with the first chance of the game, chipping the Hull keeper, Ruiter, on the volley. From then on though, Ruiter played outstandingly making 10 excellent saves.

                FA Cup Final

                Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
                Balotelli 67
After an excellent display by England No 1 Luke Daniels, keeping out all of our shots, he was finally beaten after some brilliant link up play of our front 3, Pastore, Balotelli, Rodriguez. Scribe made and unbelievable save to deny Aboubakar from point blank range, using some brilliant reflexes to tip the ball onto the bar. That's the domestic treble, on for the quadruple...

                Match 37

                Liverpool 2-0 Sunderland
                Sterling 69
                Sterling 89

After being dominated by Sunderland, Sterling ran clear twice to fire in with powerful shots.

                Match 38

                Fulham 1-2 Liverpool
                Kasami 4
                Rodriguez 15
                Balotelli 67

Kasami scored almost immediately after being played through. Rodriguez equalised after beating Richardson easily with a few stepovers. Balotelli sealed history with a stunner from 30 yards giving us a win every league game of the season! History has been made... Now for the Champions League.

                League Table

                Liverpool 114
                Chelsea 83
                Manchester City 79
                Manchester United 76
                Spurs 74
                Arsenal 67
                QPR 63
                Southampton 58
                Newcastle 55
                Everton 53
                West Brom 44
                West Ham 41
                Sunderland 40
                Aston Villa 39
                Cardiff 37
                Hull 31
                Fulham 28
                Crystal Palace 25
                Stoke 23
                Swansea 23

                Champions League Final

Liverpool 4-2 Bayern Munchen (after extra time)
                Aguero 9
                Pastore 33
                Aguero 74
                Balotelli 87
                Pastore 98
                Pastore 119

Aguero scored early on using his blistering pace to get away from the defence. Pastore got the equaliser running through and smashing in. Aguero gave Bayern the lead again with a shot on the rebound. Late on, Balotelli's inch perfect header found the corner to take it to extra time. From there, I made a smart substitution, bringing on Sterling for Rodriguez. He used his quick and fresh legs to run clear twice and whip in both times for perfect headers from Pastore. A Champions League final hat trick.

                End of Season Thoughts

What a season. A season where you win any trophy is a success, but to become the first ever team to win the quadruple, now that is brilliant. And winning the league by winning every game is amazing. A 38 game winning streak! Everyone stepped up in the team, Pastore filled Sturridge's spot with style. Now I have to put my eyes forward to the Euros.

                Final Squad

                Goalkeepers
                Anthony Scribe 88
                Yusuf Mersin 66
                Alphonse Areola 68

                Andre Wisdom 71

Well good news, I'm doing the Coventry one alongside my Liverpool one
And for your dilemma I'd personally prefer to see Sevilla as they are not a big team in Spain but have some of my favourite career mode players in Rakitic and Bacca. After their success in the Europa League as well they are starting to work their way back onto the map. If you prefer BPL but not a great team can I suggest Hull or Aston Villa. As much as I hate Villa, they used to be a powerhouse and they slipped up. As for Hull, well they reached the FA Cup final, need I say more.

Thanks man, glad to have you back. I think Sevilla would be interesting to try and get them up to the barca/real/athletico standard. Also as Jamie said they have some awesome players. Piotr Trochowski is another great player. Also thanks for your vote, it's really helpful. I forgot they brought in Ramos, that should make the team even more fun to play with if it gets voted in.

Thanks for voting. I think I am going to go with Coventry as moose and Tauter both came up with some excellent points. Firstly I am already doing a BPL career and a lot of people are, moose, cathal, Tauter. Secondly it is always enjoyable to use your home town club.

Be prepared because Coventry is storming to this forum. Btw my Liverpool career will remain consistent as I know a lot of you enjoy reading it.

But wait... be prepared for a shock...
Hometown always adds such a fun aspect. I am American so on other sports I love building up my hometown, but unfortunately that doesn't work so well with FIFA. There is a MLS team where I'm from, but the level of competition is no fun once you get a solid team together in FIFA.

                          Match 1

                          England 4-0 Slovenia
                          Henderson 45
                          Walcott 50
                          Sterling 67
                          Sturridge 88

After Handanovic made a string of great saves, we resorted to crossing. Henderson got on the end of a Wilshere cross and Walcott got on the end of a Sterling cross. Sturridge, back from injury just in time, came off the bench and played through for Sterling to curl in. He then got a goal of his own heading in expertly.

                          Match 2

                          England 3-1 Czech Republic
                          Jones 13
                          Rooney 31
                          Barkley 36
                          Husbauer 83

Jones opened the scoring heading in a clever corner to the near post. Rooney made it 2 when he nodded in after Barkley cleverly chipped through. Ross then smashed in from 30 yards and almost got another but it ricocheted off the bar from slightly further out. Husbaeur got a goal on the rebound for the Czechs.

                          Match 3

                          England 1-3 Turkey
                          Erdinc 20
                          Welbeck 68
                          Turan 90
                          Ciftci 90

Not the result we were hoping for. Yilmaz ran clear and squared it for Erdinc to smash in. Welbeck equalised with a scuffed shot into the corner but Baines had a bad ball and allowed Turan to smash in. He then couldn't keep up with his man and Ciftci made it 3.

                          Group Table

                          Turkey 7
                          England 6
                          Czech Republic 3
                          Slovenia 1

                          Quarter Final

                          Spain 0-2 England
                          Rooney 43
                          Rooney 80

After Spain's passing dominance and Joe Hart's brilliant save we hit on the attack. Kiko Casilla made a string of saves before Rooney volleyed in on the rebound. We booked our place in the semi finals when Zaha beat Alba with a simple ball roll and whipped in for Rooney to head home.

                          Semi Final

                          Italy 1-2 England
                          Immobile 8
                          Rooney 63
                          Walcott 75

Immobile gave the Italian's the lead when the defence went AWOL and he ran clear to convert past a helpless Daniels. Rooney equalised when he beat Bonucci with a ball roll and smashed in at the far post. Walcott out us in the final when his pass was blocked, but he luckily ran onto the ball and hit it hard and low into the bottom corner.

                          Final

                          France 1-1 England (5-4 pens)
                          Rami 63
                          Henderson 90

We came so far, further than anyone expected. But I failed to deliver on my promise. Undone by England's repeated failure to win on penalties. Rami gave France the lead with an inch perfect header from a corner but we levelled it in stoppage time when Henderson smashed in on the rebound. We couldn't do it though. Sturridge scored, Nasri scored, Welbeck scored, M'Vila scored, Walcott missed and from then we knew we would lose. Henderson and Lallana both converted but so did the rest of the France kick takers.

                          Overview
Well we played well for the most part. Barkley was my surprise package as I called him up despite never playing with him. He played excellently throughout. Baines was a disappointment throughout the competition. Wayne finally turned up and it meant that Sturridge rarely got a look in. My best players have to go to Henderson and Walcott though, both were consistently good. Another amusing thing that happened, Young retired in the middle of the competition so Zaha took his place in the squad. We did well to beat arguably the best team in Italy, but we were unfortunate against France and I do not have a clue what happened against the Turks.

                            Press Conference

Q: Back into the playoff positions currently. How confident are you that not only will you maintain one of those spots, but that you can achieve promotion?

A: This team will continue to surprise everyone. We still have yet to play our best football. There are things here and there that I still want to get sorted out, but I have complete faith that these players will get this club to where we want it. When we play our best, it will be hard for any team in the league to beat us.

Q: Another approach by a Dutch club, this time PSV. We have heard that you have turned down the offer. Is that true? And if so why did you decline the offer?

A: There is nothing more flattering when a club feels you are the person they need to get them to where they feel they belong. But ultimately the same as last time with Ajax, I have made a commitment to RC Deportivo. Some people may view those clubs as better opportunities, but I couldn't imagine walking away from this group of players. They would give everything for me out there, and I feel that I would do the same for them. Deportivo feels like home for me right now, and it would be hard to ever imagine leaving.

Q: The Czech Republic has approached you to manager their national team, what are your opinions on this opportunity?

A: International management is certainly something that I want to do at some point in my career. I'm not sure if that moment is just yet however. I have yet to complete even a year yet with Deportivo, and we are currently in a promotion race right now. It might be too much to divert my attention into two things right now. I will continue to think it over and I will likely give my response to the Czech Republic FA before the end of the month.

Q: Back to back League Player of the Month Awards for Borja Baston, and 3 in a row coming to your club in the first 3 months of the season. How important to your squad is Borja Baston right now?

A: His form has been unbelievable. He has been scoring goals at a rate unmatched by anyone else in the league. I believe he is currently leading the league with 16 goals, 3 clear of the next closest. I think this will generate a lot of interest in him in this coming transfer window, but I guarantee I will do everything I can to hold on to him.

Q: Speaking of the transfer window, we are only a month away. Do you have any big plans for the coming window?

A: I can't give too much information away regarding our plans, but there are some players we have an eye on. The main thing we are going to look at is defense. If we can bring players in right away that would be great, but we may be forced to sign some pre-contract players and wait until next season for them to join us. We will evaluate the players that I think fit our scheme, and decide on the best course of action over the next 2 months.

So currently the vote tally stands at 3 for PSG, 2 for Dortmund and none for either of the others. I'm going to give it one more day before beginning the career mode. If I enjoy the PSG one I'll post that but if it gets boring quickly, I'll try Dortmund. Failing both of these I will just stick with the Cardiff CM as it is something I am currently really enjoying. Thanks for your votes guys. Hopefully the new career mode works.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I am currently contemplating whether or not I should discontinue my AFC Wimbledon career once I achieve promotion to League 1. As much as I love their story and passion, I just don't like their kits LOL I really enjoy playing with them and every player has been able to adapt to what I want from them, but those kits man... It is impossible for me to feel identified by a blue with yellow kit. I will continue to ponder this decision, but I will not abandon Wimbledon until I get them promoted. If that takes more than one season to complete then so be it.

For my next career mode I want to go with a League 1 team. That way, it would be like I'm starting where I left off with the Dons but with a different team. I'm currently looking at Bradford City, but I won't post updates on it unless the person that's already doing a Bradford career is okay with it. The kits are awesome, the combination of yellow with red is much better since red is a color of my favorite team - Guadalajara. In the meantime, I will continue my AFCW career planning for the future. I'll leave everything ready in case I decide to come back to it. Like I said, the only thing keeping me with the Dons is their history, and that may be enough to bring me back.

Has anyone encountered this before? Where you're not bored with the team at all but there's this little detail pushing you away?
