Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Is there a way to review the games you played?

I might have messed up my Fulham career mode.

I can see the scores on the calendar but I don't know where I can see the scores.

Sort of messes up the story to have just results...

As far as I know you can only review the score but no details, unlike say NCAA Football or Madden where you can go back and look at box scores and stuff. EA should definitely try to add this to the game.

          Becoming the Best

          May 2014

As we started the last month of the season Bayern Munich had a two-point lead over Hertha. The Berliners needed all six points from their two games but they also needed Bayern to drop points against Hamburger SV away or against Stuttgart at home. Hertha BSC's full staff was not permitted to comment the last games. On top of that Hertha had the DFB Pokal's final against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

          Werder Bremen 1 - 2 Hertha
          Junuzovic 39'
          Lasogga 24', Kovacic 45'

          Hamburger SV 0 - 1 Bayern Munich

A terrible end to the league season. Hertha did all they needed but they basically saw their title hopes collapse when Bayern were able to get a victory from Hamburg. Yes, there was one more game left but Bayern should easily beat Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. Ganchev and his squad couldn't believe their luck.

          Hertha 1 - 0 Borussia Dortmund
          Depay 31'

          Bayern Munich 3 - 0 Stuttgart

Bayern Munich are the Bundesliga 2013-2014 champions!

Hertha took an important and well deserved victory from BVB but it wasn't enough. As many expected Bayern demolished Stuttgart at home and they were crowned for a second time in a row as the champions of Germany. When the game ended many fans and players were crying in disbelieve. One of the Berliner's best season ever ended in second place but that's a thing to be really proud about.

Hertha 2 - 3 Borussia Mönchengladbach, DFB Pokal Final
          Kovacic 26', Depay 59'
          Xhaka 53', Kruse 65', Raffael 72'

Unbelievible! Everything looked so good when Hertha beat Bayern in April but in the end it didn't matter. Hertha lost the league at the last match day and two weeks after that they lost the cup on their home soil. Hertha didn't look positive nor creative on the field, the players probably were still in shock after the league finale. The month of May in 2014 will remain as one of the darkest in the club's history. Some of the players were so broken they couldn't stop crying after receiving their silver medals. Manager Ganchev lied on the grass covering his face again for many minutes. An aweful end to the season.

Squad Review, First XI, Subs and Important Reserves

Thomas Kraft, GK, 79 OVR, Germany

Played pretty good during the whole season and got the most clean sheets in the league. Started every game. Made some crucial mistakes and errors.

          8.5/10
A good keeper but not the best. Won't be replaced.

Sebastian Jung, RB, 79 OVR, Germany

A good and stable rightback who doesn't attack that much. Got 2 assists and tackled well. Got 32 league starts. Lacks pace.

          8/10
Good and talented player, just a bit slow. Won't be replaced.

Matthias Ginter, CB, 78 OVR, Germany

A really good and important defender who is really young. An excellent header and a great tackler who got 29 starts in the league. Just needs a bit of pace.

          9/10
Great player, really important for us. Won't be replaced any time soon.

Fabian Schär, CB, 77 OVR, Switzerland

Same as above except he's shorter and faster. Got 22 starts.

          8.5/10
          Same as Ginter.

Fabian Johnson, LB, 73 OVR, USA

Arrived in January and missed only one game. He took the spot right away and performed really well. Plays better than his overall suggests. Good crosser, pacy. Just a bit too weak.

          8.5/10
He's good put that 73 OVR doesn't look good in our lineup. Won't be sold but may lose his starting spot.

Fabian Lustenberger, CB, 77 OVR, Switzerland

Our captain who missed only three games whole season. Good in defence. Then he was put in midfield and he kept shining. He's perfect for the holding role.

          8.5/10
The perfect guy for his role. Won't be replaced.

Valentin Stocker, LM, 81 OVR, Switzerland

Started the season on the wing and was really important and played amazingly. Like Lustenberger he got put in midfield where he kept playing brilliantly. Started 31 league games and got 10 assists.

          9/10
He's our highest rated player and he's full of talent and class. Won't be replaced.

Mateo Kovacic, CM, 79 OVR, Croatia

He arrived in January and took the starting spot straight away. And he shows why. He's a good dribbler, he's got a good shot and he's a great passer.

          8.5/10
Our maybe biggest talent. Won't be replaced.

Memphis Depay, LW, 76 OVR, Netherlands

Another winter arrival who got in the first XI straight away. He's really important in our attacks and started every match except for one. Gets goals and assists from the right wing.

          8.5/10
Sadly didn't grow at all. Will be loaned for a few months but won't be replaced.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga, ST, 80 OVR, Germany

Hertha's top goal scorer who was second in the league. Had an amazing season with 22 goals. Plays really well with his head and combines well with our players. Has more potential and more goals to come.

          9/10
A really great striker who might get sold for financial reasons.

Adrian Ramos, ST, 80 OVR, Colombia

Our striker-converted-to-a-winger who started playing better on the flank. He's got pace, he's strong, he's an alright crosser and a good finisher. Ramos is also one of the best headers in the world. Enjoys cutting in and netted most of his 19 goals from the left wing.

          8.5/10
Plays well always. Our most important attacking player. Won't be sold until starts declining.

          Rune Jarstein, 70 OVR, Norway

Our second keeper who didn't get a single game under his belt. Nothing to say about him.

          N/A

Peter Pekarik, RB, 75 OVR, Slovenia

Our substitute-rightback who played only two games. Slowish but an alright replacement for Jung when he's tired or injured.

          N/A

John Anthony Brooks, CB, 74 OVR, USA

Another substitute. He plays always well when needed. Sadly he's our third-choice centreback. Got 9 starts. Has a huge potential.

          8/10
Always there when needed. Plays always well. Won't be sold.

Sebastian Rode, CDM, 77 OVR, Germany

Was a starter until he got suspended. Since then he's started one game. Too attacking for a holding midfielder. Will be replaced.

          5/10
A good player who isn't good in his position. Will be sold.

Maximilian Meyer, CAM, 74 OVR, Germany

A good sub who spent the second half of the season loan because of not growing. Got some goals as a sub. One for the future.

          7/10
          Didn't grow enough. Good subsitute.

          Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, LM, 77 OVR, Cameroon

A substitute winger who isn't that good. Got replaced by Origi as a sub. Will be kept as a reserve.

          4/10
          Not good.

Divock Origi, LW, 73 OVR, Belgium

Another substitute winger but a good one. Got a nice amount of goals and a few assists. Will be kept for many years.

          7/10
Young and talented player. Important in the second half.

Levan Kobiashvili, CB, 70 OVR, Georgia

Our vice-captain who got a couple of starts. Great player for a 36 years old, just a bit short and sluggish.

          6/10
Always there when needed, next season will be his last.

Nico Shulz, LM, 72 OVR, Germany

Our reserve leftback. Fast and talented. Got 5 starts.

          5/10

          Press Conference

Good afternoon, Mr Ganchev. How would you describe the end of the season?

A catastrophe! We lost two titles in two weeks! Both of them hurt really much but maybe the cup was more afwul since it was played at our home ground and the opponent should have been weaker than us. At least for the league title we couldn't have done anything more. But now the important thing is to forget these disasters, keep our heads up and focus on next season.

You said Hertha would win the cup, didn't you?

I was wrong. I wanted to make our players confident but after losing the league title my boys weren't able to get over it for a while. I'm still really proud of how well we did this season, after all we beat Bayern two or three times and Dortmund three times I think. No one believed in us but we showed them.

What do you think about the Team of the Season?

It's a joke. How the f*** is Max Kruse there, who got like 5 goals and 3 assists all season there but they didn't take Lasogga who had most assists and second-most goals?! Why was Beister there? What did Guardiola do to be chosen the manager of the year? But I can't do anything about that. At least two of my players were there.

What are your objectives for next season?

To win the German double and to do well in the Champions League. Will Hertha succeed? I hope so.

Thank you and good luck next season.

          Thanks, it will be needed.

          Transfer Budget: €14 Million
          Wage budget: €70.000

The budget is a joke. Even after doing the wage trick it's only 14 million. Who can I buy with that? The board want's me to reach the CL quarter finals. I need a CDM and maybe a LB. Any suggestions?

Thank you for reading the post! Hope you've enjoyed it! Any suggestions and feedback will be appreciated!

Wow! Rough ending to the season, but still, you have to look at those amazing accomplishments you got. To make the final of the cup, and to come in 2nd in the league are great achievements in themselves. Be proud of this season and make some moves and get better in the offseason and set your aim on knocking down Bayern next year!

How do I get the Computer to play my guy when simulating games. I am currently playing as the QPR. I have a young 17 year old stud whose name is Bakkali. I have as a starter in the squad setup, but when I simulate games the CPU never plays him. When I play games, I can use him.

Yeah, it was really rough. And ofcourse I'm happy about what I did but after beating Bayern in the cup semifinal the cup should have been ours.

That's my target for next season as I said in the press conference, to win the German double and to show Bayern who's the boss. I managed to beat them two times out of three last season which was really nice.

As for transfers, I have absolutely no idea who to go for. And the small budget doesn't make it easier. I'm basically happy in my squad but I feel like it needs a lot of improvement. Any good suggestions?

and to clarify, the targets would be high 70's/low 80's players, right?

Yes. Or 70-75 ovr players with high potential. But the budget is only 14 million.

I saw Jamie grabbed Marcos Rojo in his CM, maybe try him? Pablo Armero would be another target though his cost might be higher. He's listed as a LM but he just played fullback for Colombia in the WC and definitely has the ratings that you'd want there. I don't know what Tomas Rincon's cost is but he's probably what you're looking for at CDM.

I know I know I'm only mentioning Latinos. They're the first ones that come to mind

Well so far Rojo has been great but I would also recommend Yanga-M'Biwa. He is seriously threatening to overtake Vlaar. Another recommendation is Chalobah.

I don't know what Tomas Rincon's cost is but he's probably what you're looking for at CDM.

Thanks for the suggestions! The players look good but do you have any suggestions for a CDM with 77+ overall? I also need a 72-76 rated striker.
