    RIVER PLATE: Career Mode

So I have finally given in and began my first ever career in South America and I did some research and figured that I would go with River Plate from the Primera Division in Argentina. It was a tough choice between them and Boca, but one of my friends is a Boca supporter, so I thought I would go with their biggest rival. I will be updated on this career hopefully every 2 days or so.

      Making Them Dream
      SEASON 4

If people think my business is unrealistic, I'm sorry. Let me state my point. If a team had done as well as we did last season, winning the quadruple and the league without dropping points, no player would not want to play for us.

      Transfers IN
Luke Daniels: £14.5 million from West Brom
Cristiano Ronaldo: £25 million from Real Madrid
Paul Pogba: £40 million + Fernando from Manchester City
Sam Byram: £3 million + Andre Wisdom from Leeds

      Transfers OUT
      Suso: Loan to PSV
      Luke James: Loan to Portsmouth
Samed Yesil: Loan to Nottingham Forest
      Nathan Ake: Loan to Fulham
Bruno Martins Indi: Loan to Anderlecht
Nathaniel Chalobah: £4.2 million to Galatasaray

      Squad

      Goalkeepers
      Anthony Scribe 88
      Luke Daniels 85
      Yusuf Mersin 66

      Defenders
      Mattia De Sciglio 83
      Sam Byram 74
      Mats Hummels 86
      Fabian Schar 84
      Ilori 81
      Dejan Lovren 81
      Matthias Ginter 78
      Luke Shaw 83
      Jon Flanagan 77

      Midfielders
      Xabi Alonso 73
      Paul Pogba 88
      Marco Verratti 86
      Joe Allen 82
      Mateo Kovacic 81
      Steven Gerrard 79
      Diogo Caeiro 59
      Javier Pastore 86
      Dolly Mudingayi 70
      Adam Lallana 82
      Teixeira 63

      Forwards
      James Rodriguez 90
      Raheem Sterling 84
      Callum McManaman 79
      Mario Balotelli 91
      Daniel Sturridge 86
      Danny Ings 78
      Cristiano Ronaldo 91
      Fabio Borini 76

      Out on Loan
      Luke James 60
      Nathan Ake 75
      Bruno Martins Indi 73
      Suso 80
      Samed Yesil 73

      Community Shield

      Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
      Balotelli 64
      Verratti 66

After a boring first half, on the counter attack Pastore chipped it through for Balotelli to volley home. Verratti scored a couple of minutes later when the ball was won and some beautiful play found him on the edge of the box and he smashed in hard and low.

      Match 1

      Liverpool 3-0 West Ham
      Balotelli 12
      Pastore 31
      Balotelli 83

Balo smashed in from 30 yards for a stunning first goal of the season. Pastore smashed in from the edge of the box to make it 2. Balo headed in a Rodriguez cross for the third.

      Match 2

      Fulham 0-3 Liverpool
      Ronaldo 26
      Hummels 35
      Rodriguez 63

On Ronaldo's Liverpool debut, he got a goal from 25 yards, firing into the top corner. The lead was doubled when Hummels headed in a perfectly weighted corner. The score was wrapped up when some brilliant play allowed Rodriguez to volley into the bottom corner.

      Copa Europe

Liverpool 2-2 Atletico Madrid (4-2 pens)
      Bony 36
      Ronaldo 45
      Bony 78
      Ronaldo 90

Bony gave the Europa League winners the lead after rounding Scribe and firing into the open net. Ronaldo equalised on the stroke of half time, smashing in from the edge of the box. Bony capitalised on a bewildering defensive mix-up to fire in to an empty net again. As it looked like it was over, substitute Sterling whipped in and Ronaldo headed it into the far corner. We won on penalties, Balo, Schar, Ronaldo and Rodriguez scoring, while Atletico had a penalty hit the bar and Scribe made a maginificent penalty save.

      Match 3

      Liverpool 3-1 Chelsea
      Sturridge 22
      Sterling 31
      Higuain 61
      Sturridge 67

Sturridge opened the scoring when played through by Sterling to fire in powerfully. Sterling then curled in his own after a brilliant ball by Sturridge. Higuain got one back with a simple header before Sturridge beat the defence to seal the victory.

      Summer Thoughts

Our business was great, signing world class players and sending future world class players out on loan. Our reserve squad is now as powerful as most of the best teams in the league, and it makes me proud as a manager to have developed it. Our BPL winning run was extended to 41 games from the start of last season, wow.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Manchester United update #4 January Transfer Window

Wow one of the most eventful January windows I've ever had

        Out:
Javier Hernandez = €30 million to Chelsea (handed in transfer request)
        Van Persie = Benzema
Rooney = €38 to Atletico Madrid
        Vidic = Varane + €8 million

        In:
        Huntelaar = €15 million
De Scigllio = €12 million ( Rafael out 7 months)
        Lewandowski = pre-contract
        Diego = pre-contract
        Romeron = Short Loan (77)
World Class scout = €8 million

A hectic window with most of the deals been done on the last few days of January
After months of speculation Hernandez left United and after all the rumours had died down I thought he would have stayed. I had offers from Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Arsenal and I reluctantly sold to Chelsea after Bayern offerd no where near his transfer value. I'm surprised they didn't bid higher as Mandukinic joined Arsenal. They later won the race for Luis Suarez for €50 million.
Bayern also fought Atletico for Wanye Rooney, Rooney's form dropped again and when I received a decent offer from the Spanish side I jumped on the opportunity to raise my transfer budget to €60 million.
My next piece of action was getting rid of injury prone van Persie and getting a bargain straight trade for Benzema.

I then saw Robert Lewandowski and Diego available on pre-contract but had to give high wages to both as I had to fight interest from Real Madrid and Bayern for Lewandowski and Diego didn't want to move.
I then took the opportunity to strengthen my defence buying Varane from Madrid after bad performances from Vidic all year round. I also signed De Sciglio from A.C Milan and Huntelaar from Schalke on the same day and on that day Rafael managed to get an injury that would not only end his club season but also put him out of the world cup as well.

I also got Romeron from Barca, (whoever he is ) on loan (77) and if he's good enough I might sign him on a free agent (he had six months left on his contract)

And after all that I tried a new look United against arsenal and won 4-0!
I am 3 points clear of second place City with a game in hand, and play Porto in the round 16 in the Champions League. I play Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final in a few weeks time.

I completely forgot to mention in my other posts that I took out relegated sides Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich and put in newly promoted sides Leister, Burnley and QPR.

And I've made a decision that I'm going to do a second season with United after signing Lewandowski and Diego pre contracts.

After all the ins and outs here is my starting XI:

        GK: De Gea 83

        RB: De Scigllio 78
        CB: Varane 82
        CB: Mangala 82
        LB: Coentrao 80

        RM: Candreva 83
        CM: Carvalho 82
        CM: Mata 87
        LM: Kagawa 82

        ST: Benzema 86
        ST: Huntelaar 84

Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
        Any feedback appreciated

It's amazing. This thread used to be dead until Indiblue started posting. He was the only one posting for a while and really not even receiving any replies but he kept at it. Then he said he would be taking a little while off everyone jumped in to fill the void. Reading all of these career modes is fun and makes it interesting to see how everyone likes to run their teams.

That's the end of the post. I hope you enjoyed it. I have thought long and hard about the second career mode but I think it will have to wait. I tried the PSG career mode and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'll wait until I am finished with the Cardiff CM before bringing a second CM to the forum. That may end up being a FIFA 15 project. As for this CM I am in a bit of a predicament. These CM posts take a while to do. I am much further into he Career mode that it seems and I would love to catch up at some point. I am asking you guys whether I should focus on specific games and perhaps not post about other matches which are less important, just include in them other conferences and interviews. Or I could rush through them and put slightly less deatil. Or I could just catch up now before playing further. If you can please answer below. Thanks
Maybe have a monthly update? That way you can still give us all the important information that you want to share but still be able to get through it relatively quickly and maybe just detail the goal scorers and such from each individual game... but up to you!

Come on let's be fair gents. Yes, Indiblue your updates are AWESOME and your style of updating certainly inspired others and started a trend, but I wouldn't say this thread is alive thanks to only one person. For example, I remember seeing JustCru7ing and this guy was involved in everything. He gave feedback to everyone that posted and if not, he would at least give you a thumbs up. Nobody felt like their posts were being ignored and that inspires people to continue posting. Same with "djcc" - sorry if I got the name wrong, and a lot of people were posting even before Indiblue took his time off to work on a project. A LOT of people have contributed to get this thread back up and succeeded, not just one person.

***will all due respect to Texas and Indiblue of course

And I have tried all of those teams but none worked out well. Hmm... how about Leverkusen, Aston Villa, Hertha BSC or some else not-so-great team?

Also, what kind of team would you guys enjoy reading updates about?

Ah okay gotcha! Personally I couldn't do that. I'd welcome a new challenge, although that would solve the kits dilemma!

A Hertha Berlin career would be good to read about! Every country's capital has a big team except Germany. Bring them up to their rightful place among Bayern and Dortmund!

Q: You have moved up into an automatic promotion spot. What do you need to do to make sure that you don't relinquish this spot?

A: I give all of the credit to the players. They have fought hard all year to get here. There is 3 months left in the season and still a lot of matches left to play. While it is nice to be in the two 2 spots right now, ultimately it doesn't mean anything until that last match is played. With that said, I believe this squad is talented enough to not only keep this spot, but to win the league as well.

Q: Borja Baston's run of form continues earning him yet another Player of the Month award. What is it you are doing to set him up for the magical season he is having?

A: I knew that Borja was capable of performing like this from the start. This is why I was confident in using him as the lone striker in our formation. This is also why I fought hard to turn away countless offers in January for him. Borja is too important to this team right now. His 26 goals so far is beyond words, and I am right there with the supporters in how much I am enjoying the performance he consistently turns in.

Q: It appears that Iuri Medeiros has done a fanstastic job in his first month as a replacement for Jordan Obita. What do you expect for him going forward?

A: In 3 matches he has contributed 2 goals and a few assists as well. I saw his potential as being a focus point in our attack, and he certainly hasn't let me down. As he gets more time with the rest of the team his chemistry will the other players will only grow, and his form should grow with that.

Alright, so I play as Newport County and have brought them up from football league two all the way up to Barclays PL. Mid-way through my first season in the PL I started to receive some international offers, but I really wanted to get an offer from the US national team. So I decided that instead of waiting awhile to get an offer I took a short cut and bought the international manager thing from the catalogue (because I wanted a whole year with the Us team before the World Cup 2018). Unfortunately I completely forgot I put my managers nationality as Honduran, instead of American. Now this is where the problem arises, ever since then I played a whole season in the PL with a 4 and a half star team and have not received any offers from any country's at all. It blew because it caused me not to be able to play the 2018 World Cup with any team. Now I'm in the 2nd transfer window of my 2nd season since that moment I tried the international management thing, and I still do not have any offers from any country's at all! Has anybody else had this problem? I even tried creating another CM to see if I would get the international manger perk and nothing came up. Does this mean I will never get to lead any international team to glory!? At this point I don't care if New Zealand is the only country to offer me a contract I just want to play some International matches! Someone please help

                            1. S****horpe United - 56 points
                            2. AFC Wimbledon - 55 points
                            3. Portsmouth - 52 points
                            4. Chesterfield - 51 points
                            5. Plymouth Argyle - 49 points
                            6. Northampton - 44 points
                            7. Rochdale - 43 points

Sammy Moore, a key player in Wimbledon's starting 11, has refused to sign a new contract with the team and has chosen to move on at the end of his contract which expires in 6 months. It is rumored that he is not happy with the fact that every player at Wimbledon receives the same wage regardless of their contribution to the team. After refusing to negotiate 3 times with Chavez, Moore was transfer listed. In the end Moore was included in a player + $100k deal for young Tyler Harvey from Plymouth Argyle. Sammy Moore's wish to leave the club has been fulfilled. Chavez was not happy with Sammy Moore's request and chose to act now rather than wait for Moore's final decision.

George Francomb, the league leader in assists, has also departed from the club today after signing a 4 year contract with Ipswich Town.

"Francomb is the last player I wanted to let go of but, I couldn't get in the way of his career. We received an offer from a Championship team and I couldn't reject it in good conscience. George is only 22 years old. He had just renewed a 3 year contract and told us that he wanted to be promoted with us, but I knew the best for him was to sign with Ipswich Town rather than staying in League 2 to fight for promotion." - Chavez

The deal included a $730,000 fee and a $5000 wage, more than 6 times his wage at Wimbledon.

Chavez is now targeting Mansfield Town's Ryan Tafazolli and free agent Çamdal. Tafazolli impressed Chavez during Wimbledon's league match against Mansfield. Even though Wimbledon won the match, Tafazolli was a great, big wall at the center of Mansfield's line of 5. Ever since that match at the beginning of the season Wimbledon scouts have been present at Mansfield practices to watch Tafazolli. If the deal goes through, it is expected Tafazolli will play Center Back for Wimbledon's line of 5 while Harry Pell will replace Sammy Moore in midfield.

In the meantime, Chavez has not replaced Francomb so it is expected Kevin Sainte-Luce will fill in the spot for tomorrow's match against Crystal Palace, while it is still unknown who will replace Sammy Moore. The options are Luke Moore, Peter Sweeney, and new signing Tyler Harvey.

Here is the expected lineup: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1402474677.225792.jpg

Ouch. That sucks man. The international management perk can only be used once so unfortunately that's out of the window. How have you been doing in the PL? Offers tend to come during good cup runs. I'm playing in League 2 and have only received one offer which was after making it to the Round of 32 of the capital one cup. Also, I have never received an offer from USA. Don't know why but it feels like the offers skip USA when they jump over to 5 star teams.

I kinda disagree also. There were still a lot of people posting even without indiblue.

And I think I understand your point about switching players of Bradford with the Dons. It would lose the Wimbledon feel in my opinion.

And as for my career, it looks like it's going to be with Hertha BSC. The team is good and Hertha's my favourite German team. The stadium is amazing, the fans are great and the kits are nice. They also have good players but room of improvement. I'm thinking about using a financial takeover or creating an 88 ovr player to sell to get more money. It wouldn't be unrealistic since Hertha's got a new owner with cash. What do you think?

And the style would be like I have done it before. That means boring and annoying to read. I'll probably post the first update tomorrow or after two weeks when I return from mah holideeh.
