I play with two strikers and choose to have 1 of each. I think they compliment each other well. If I was only playing with 1 I'd probably go with the big strong forward since I assume my wingers would be the speed demon's. Your big guy can turn out be effective on through balls by shielding defenders off.

Definitely not a bad place to be. Like I said, many more games to go before things fall into their final places. I think the spate of pennos was a fluke, don't see it happening regularly, but I'll have to be careful.

In midfield, Mutch is a weak link. A lot of times, some wicked passing will end with him losing the ball or giving it away, and he's not managed to score or assist in 16 games so far. He was excellent in box-to-box roles in the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-3-3, but since moving to a 4-1-4-1, he hasn't been anywhere near the quality I need. I'll decide whether to upgrade him by the middle of January.

I can definitely see myself signing a right back in the summer. Bellerin has been great, but he's my only RB and a bit limited in offering service from out wide. Kid is just 63 OVR and still has at least another two seasons before he hits PL quality, so it's a wonder I've been holding it together with him starting every game. I'd like a player who'll be 29 or 30 in the summer, who can play 1-2 seasons and then pass the mantle on to Bellerin. I'd do it in January, but I don't have that kind of money. Jesus Gamez and Juanfran are both available to sign for free in January, so maybe one of them.

Q: Dani Iglesias with 5 goals in 4 matches this month. He is really proving that your faith in him wasn't misguided. Do you see this form continuing for the last 2 months, and if so will you still be bringing another striker in this summer?

A: Dani has been everything I knew he could be. Losing Keirrison seemed like an interesting decision at the time, but I knew that Dani would be more than capable of stepping up. As far as summer transfer plans I think that more depth at striker is still something we need to look at regardless of Dani's form.

Q: Sanchez scored his first goal in his senior career at the club. He is one of two players that have come through the academy you have started up so far. How do you see the future at the club for these two players, and how do you feel about your investment in the youth academy so far?

A: Sanchez and Enrique have been great in training so far this season. They have proven to me that they belong at this senior level. Minutes still have to be earned, but they are only impressing me more and more each week. As for the academy as a whole, there are several players currently in the system that have the potential to be contributors to this club. After this season I will re-evaluate the players and determine who, if any, are ready to make their senior debuts.

Q: Not too bad of results for this month taking 5 points. You managed to keep your position the same as last month. With two months left what is your plan for finishing out the season?

A: We are in a good spot right now. Not many people had us even above the relegation positions, but I always knew we were capable of more than that. As I said before, the top half is our goal. I think that things are coming together nicely so far and I am confident that we will accomplish that.

wondering how Babin is working out for you.

what's your budget? Fernando Navarro out of Mexico should be available for less than $1 million. Speedy guy in the mid-high 60's who improves into the low 70's. FWIW.

Alvarez came through to tie the game at 1-1 in the second half so I could salvage something. I then tied 0-0 against Murcia and seemed to be falling apart against Hercules down 0-3 with 20 minutes left ... but against all odds, my strikers teamed up. Beleck crossed it to Gaona Lugo for a header to make it 1-3 in the 72nd minute, then 4 minutes later Miguel made a high through pass to Gaona Lugo who downed it with his chest at the top of the box then hit it just hard enough past the keeper to make it 2-3. It didn't seem I'd be be able to complete the comeback but in stoppage time Beleck stole the ball from a defender near midfield, raced down the right side of the pitch and crossed another beauty towards Gaona Lugo on the far post for the HAT TRICK. It ended at 3-3. Gaona Lugo jumped all the way to third for most goals in the league while Beleck all but locked up the lead for assists.

Unfortunately our inability to win has put us back in 3rd place. Espanyol has clinched direct promotion and Osasuna is ahead of us by 3 points ... BUT THEY JUST LOST in their 40th game! Which means if we beat Recreativo we'll tie the bastards (who would win a tiebreaker due to their far better goal differential). I need to win out and hope Osasuna slips once more. This is KILLING ME.
That's some horrible stuff, but I've seen much worse in a run-in. You're not out of it yet. Win, and hope Osasuna mess up again. If not, do whatever you must to win the playoffs. I think you should make it either way, though.

I have about £4 million to burn after buying a 4/4 youth scout, but I'm planning on converting that to wages and sign a good player on a free. Navarro isn't bad, but he's not what I'm looking for. Need someone 29-30 and OVR in the low 80s, who can play for a season or two and still cope after the stats drop.

oh damn, I misjudged what you were looking for. My higher end suggestion woulda been Roberto Rosales but he's younger than what you're looking for and taps out in the high 70's I think.

It depends on the formation I run. The formation I am currently using is a 4-2-3-1 that plays more like a 4-3-3. So my speed comes from my wingers and I like to play a strong target man in the middle to be the hold up man to win balls in the air on crosses.

He's been great! Knocked in quite a few headers off of corners so far this season. In fact, just in that monthly update you quoted he had 3 goals! Been great in the air defensively too. Thanks for the suggestion!

If I'm only playing with one, lone striker (ie. 5-4-1) it has to be a target man. At least that's what this CM has made me believe. A striker that will receive the ball with his back to goal has been more effective (Kedwell) than a striker trying to make runs for a through ball (Jolley). If I'm playing with two strikers, it doesn't really matter. With Guadalajara, I played with two slow, strong strikers and they did great, one of them becoming the league top scorer. In season 2, I had one speedster and one striker with mid 70s speed but better in the air and stronger and they were #1 and #2 league top scorer.

VOTE NOW FOR WORLD CUP CAREER

                      NIGERIA

The team I would most like to use. A fun looking squad with Enyeama, Emenike and Musa to name a few. I personally love their kits and I have enjoyed playing with them online. The reigning champions of the African Cup of Nations and they are currently having a great World Cup.

                      COSTA RICA

Another team I would really like to use. Jumping onto the map after beating Uruguay and Italy in the World Cup, they have some great talent in the likes of Bryan Ruiz and Joel Campbell. I have used these online as well and they were awesome.

                      TAHITI

I have not used these but after their appearance in the Confederations Cup I have been intrigued by them. I think it would be great to get this nation past the dominance of New Zealand and into the FIFA World Cup Finals.

                      ECUADOR

Probably the team I would least like to use out of the options, but I would still find it enjoyable. After the death of Benitez, Ecuador have lacked a brilliant striker to rely on and I think that could be a great challenge.

                      ICELAND

Iceland came so close to qualifying for the first time in their history. Thwarted in the playoffs by Croatia, Iceland were one of the shocks of the qualifying, and I would like to take that all the way to the cup.

                      UZBEKISTAN

After the split from the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan have consistently been the best out of the new central asian teams. Coming close to qualification for the first time they will be enjoyable to play as. Especially if I come up against Russia.

Thanks! Definitely tried to work the ball around a bit more and look for the pretty goal haha, just so much more fun scoring that way even with as dominant as it is to score with Andy Carroll. As for the international job, I definitely agree... I'm just not sure if I should take Spain now or give it some time to wait because I would love the England job for Euro 2016 but in the next episode you'll see that I also get an offer from Brazil where I could play the South American cup so definitely some tough choices to make.

As for the striker issue, I think when I play one striker I like to have a target man who has at least average speed (75ish) similar to the Andy Carroll build and let quick players on the wings and in midfield work around him. Just seems to be so much more dominant that way as I know the couple games that I let Lacazette be alone up top he didn't seem to perform nearly as well. Made some good runs but just didn't have the physical presence. So for your style of play going with a single striker I would definitely agree with your preference for a strong target man who also isn't bad at linking up play. But for the two striker pairing I do like having that speed and size combo attack just to provide a couple of different options that have a chance of unlocking the opposing defense.

Interesting how you say that about Mutch because he was one of my potential targets as either a backup/new replacement for Grenier for me who the jury is still out on. Just can't decide how I like him but that's interesting that your scouting report may take Mutch off of my shortlist because the qualities that you're talking about are definitely not what I would want him to be doing haha.

I think someone you could also look for in RB if need be is Geoff Cameron from Stoke... depending on what update you use his overall is somewhere mid 70s but he plays really well I have found and should be 28-29 for you so not too much money.

Tahiti for sure. Gooooood luck getting to the WC lol.

A lot of nerves going into the match as Oldham ended Wimbledon's 6-month unbeaten streak in September (2-0). Once again Oldham neutralized Wimbledon's strikers but couldn't break the defense this time. The only goal of the game didn't come until extra time as young Harry Cooksley netted his first and only goal of the season so far.

The Top 3 of the table have not moved this whole month, although Wimbledon are closing in on auto-promotion spot. With a 10 point difference between 3rd and 4th place, it is clear that these three teams are ready to move up to the FL Championship - as long as they keep up their good run.

Plymouth Argyle have ended Wimbledon's 2-month unbeaten streak while gaining 3 points that are vital for the them as they are currently in the relegation battle. However, Wimbledon remain unbeaten at Home since January, if they can keep it that way this upcoming month, it'll be a 1-year unbeaten run at Kingsmeadow, a stadium that no team has enjoyed visiting this year - including Liverpool.

Wimbledon will face Newcastle United in this years Capital One Cup semifinal fixture, hoping to shake off the ghosts from last year that saw them lose to Crystal Palace on aggregate 3-2 after winning the first leg at Crystal Palace. Manchester United will take on current Capital One Cup champions Manchester City in the other semifinal fixture.

Chavez has made it to the Area Finals of the J. Paint Trophy this year where his side will face Walsall, while MK Dons take on Charlton Athletic. Chavez seems very confident in his team when asked about the tournament. "Oh we want it. Last year we were eliminated in the Area Semifinals, but this year is different and we're just 2 legs away from the championship final. This is the last chance ever for us to win this tournament, because next year Wimbledon will be in the FL Championship."

It is expected Chavez will not make any moves in this transfer window given the team's great run. It is also expected no player from the Youth Academy will be promoted this year after Chavez made these comments: "Our Youth Academy is looking great. We've put together a great staff that know how to work with the youth. We don't want to cut the player's development and promote them too soon. It is important we let them develop and improve their confidence at a youth level first. Bringing a player on too soon could have immediate, negative impacts on his career and we don't want that."

Wimbledon will begin this tough month receiving Coventry City tomorrow. From Kingsmeadow for HYFCMG, this has been ChicoBass. Thank you for reading.

Uzbekistan for me as I'd love to see an Asian team do well. I'd also love to see if you could win the whole thing with Nigeria.

I'll give Cameron a look, thanks.

As for Mutch, he's good but it depends on which position and when. Not a great AM when he's still in the low 70s, but I've used him to good effect in the hole from 75 OVR onwards. I think I might get back to a 4-2-3-1 for a few games, play Mutch as a H/H midfielder beside M/H Bridcutt and let Aranguiz handle the CAM role. If that works well, I can use it until Mutch is good enough to play in my custom 4-1-4-1, where the RCM/LCM are now RAM/LAM.
