Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Wow, some really nice updates since yesterday. Excellent Sounders career so far, can't wait to see how you do once you're in the Championship!

On another note, I've decided that many of my first team players aren't worth keeping, either because they're not good enough or it's impossible to keep them happy despite giving them loads of playing time. I'm talking about 6-8 players here, selling them and replacing them with world class talent, mostly British and homegrown. The new boys in question will depend on how much I get from the board and how much I get from sales.

So I put forth a poll to you guys... Rebuild a new, British-heavy team at Brighton OR move to Real Madrid/Juventus/PSG and build a team there?

      COMMENTS

Well, after a victory in the first match against V. Barcelos, I had a draw against Nacional, which I didn´t expected, in a bad offensive match. I decided to rotate some players and I introduced Quintero as CAM and Ibarbo in the LW. It worked, as I was surprised with the result against SC Braga, which is one of the best portuguese teams, out of the "best three". It was a very important victory, and we could then win at home against Vitoria Guimaraes, a team which didn't shoot in the whole match.

Now, the Champions League it's going to start. We are in Group A with Olympique Marseille, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Kobenhavn. Probably it's going to be between French, Germans and us, but this is all theory...We'll see, it's very very important to star winning, against Bayer Leverkusen.

      Next update after:

Champions League #1: FC Porto - Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Liga ZON Sagres #5: Estoril - FC Porto
Liga ZON Sagres #6: Paços Ferreira - FC Porto
Champions League #2: Kobenhavn -FC Porto

That team looks awesome should really win the league and you should go far in the Champions League

BRISBANE ROAR FC SCOUTING YOUTHS, SIGN THREE
        October 17, 2013

Brisbane -- With the restrictions A-League put on team building, manager Willoughby knew that success would be difficult without having a strong pipeline of homegrown talent. It was with that in mind that one of his first moves after being appointed manager was to hire New Zealand scout Noah Tyler to set up a network in Australia. After a month and a half of searching, Willoughby saw something he liked, as Roar FC have signed three to youth contracts.

Chris Hamill, 16, was born in Ipswich, Queensland. He plays in the midfield. At just 170cm and 68kg, he is a bit undersized to be played in Brisbane's defensive midfielder role, which is currently manned by Luke Brattan. It is likely he'll spend some time in Brisbane's youth academy and if promoted, will be playing a more attacking role in Liam Miller's RCM spot.

Dylan Djité, 15, was born in Tweed Heads, New South Wales to Togoan immigrant parents. He has played both right midfielder and right winger. He has good size at 178cm and 71kg, as well as a fair amount of pace. He is ineligible for promotion to the squad until his 16th birthday, so he will spend at least a year in the youth academy.

Jason Watson, 15, was born in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. At 183cm, he has ideal height for any position along the back line, and possesses enough athleticism that he could see time at CDM for Brisbane Roar in future, after spending some time in the youth academy.

Off topic a bit but can you please not buy anyone from Perth Glory. Perth Glory and their fans (including me) have a hatred for Brisbane and Berisha due to what they did in the Grand Final 3 years ago. The score was 1 all and their was 30 seconds left of added time. Berisha dived in the box and the ref (who at the time was dating a Brisbane Roar worker) gave the penalty as Berisha celebrated winning it like a C**T. He scored and they won. I've cried three times when it has come to supporting Liverpool or Perth and this was one of the times.

A Perth fan telling a Brisbane fan about a Brisbane player diving and getting the winning penalty as a result. Oh, AND that the referee had integrity issues. Let me grab the popcorn

I'll confess, I cried when Argentina eliminated Mexico in the 2006 World Cup in extra times. :'(

There is a rating limit for free agents so there aren't many good ones.
The game moves players over to random teams so it isn't too easy.

According to Sofifa Lucas a potential of 90. These potentials are estimats so your player could outgrow it.

Report: Nottingham Forest to Announce their New Manager

                          June 21st
After the resignation of Billy Davis on the 17 of May. The East Midlands club have been rumoured to have found a new manager. Sky Sources understand that Forest have approached promising young manager Jake Gaspar of Australia who was recently the Chelsea's under 21 coach. After winning the youth FA Cup Gaspar was looked at by many clubs in the country and in Europe. After the FA Cup win he stated that he would like to be a team manager causing many clubs to be interested. Moving to London when he was 20 he has been moving up the ranks of many clubs including Millwall, Brentford, and Chelsea. Chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi has organised a press conference later today and Sky believe that this is announce the new manager. Al-Hasawi rumoured to have force the resignation of Davis after they disagreed on where the club was heading caused a lot of stir at the City Ground.

Breaking from Nottingham at the City Ground

Fawaz Al-Hasawi: Hello welcome to this press conference. Today we a proud to announce our new manager Jake Gaspar.

                          Myself: Hello everyone.

Sky: So how do you feel to be the new Forest Manager?

Myself: It's a dream. Since I have been 16 and when my playing career was up due to injuries I always wanted to manage a major club. I risked everything at home in Australia and moved to London to pursue my dream and I am really happy to be at this successful club

BBC: You just mention this is a successful club. What success will you bring to the club.

Myself: I want to do what Brian Clough did. Win Trophies! This club has had not had much success in recent history and I want to change this.

Nottingham Post: The team have signed 9 players already. Thoughts?

Myself: I made the decision for most of these signings. 4 of these players we signed as free agents and they have a lot to prove. the other 5 I think are great additions to the club and I think we can push for promotion with them. However, I think we need a few more.

Myself: Thats all the time I have today. Again thanks for coming.

Anyone who's played with Arsenal (or bought these players) had any trouble with the growth of Walcott and Chamberlain? I've played a season and a half (so now Dec. 2014), yet they haven't moved an inch in player development.

While other players have, and plenty.

I play them all the time as well. Is it perhaps because I don't sim any games? I play about 95% of the games...

Nice! Can't remember any other Nottingham career on here at least not recently. Looking forward to seeing how you can bring success back to the club and return them to Europe!

Is it really true that if you leave players in your youth academy longer that they grow, and even add weight?

Youth academy players will grow in stats and overall every 1st of May. If you have a 16 year old player who's overall is not satisfying, leave him there until the next 1st of May and he will improve. Don't promote players in April. If you do, you will lose all of their progress from the year. Just wait until May.

Regarding physical changes, the players in your youth academy will grow in height and weight on May 1st until they turn 16. Their height and weight will stop growing once they reach 16.
