    Breaking News

Juan Dominguez has signed a contract extension to stay at his boyhood club RC Deportivo. Rumors of him moving on were running wild and Deportivo made it a priority to return their captain back to the club. There were several rumors linking Dominguez with a move to Newcastle after new manager Jamiec47 turned his eye towards the talents of Dominguez. Sources say that the board was close to reaching an agreement with Newcastle, but Deportivo's manager stepped in at the last minute and refused to let his captain leave so easy. In the end loyalty won out, and Dominguez will remain a one club man for the time being.

    Press Conference

Q: What a second leg against Barcelona. The emotions must have been flying up and down throughout that game. How does the team move on after the emotionally draining heartbreak of this game?

A: First thing I want to say is how proud I am of this squad. They played their hearts out against Barcelona and left it all on the pitch. Coming in down 3-0 was a near impossible hole to climb out of and we took it to Barcelona from the start. Once we forced extra time we felt that we could pull it off, but ultimately scored in the 117th minute to put the game to rest. It's heartbreaking, but to reach the semi-finals like this is something that each of these players should be proud of.

Q: The news of Juan Dominguez's contract extension has been hitting the front pages all over the city. The fans are rejoicing at keeping one of their favorites after all of the rumors of his impending exit. How were you able to convince Juan to remain at the club?

A: As a said last month, rumors are just rumors. Don't believe anything until he put a pen to paper on a new contract. And sure enough that has happened, and I am happy to say it was with Deportivo. Juan has a very deep connection with this club after coming through the youth system here. He has been an important feature of my starting XI since I took over, and has become my captain after the departure of Manuel Pablo. I am very please to officially announce that he will be staying with Deportivo for another 3 years.

Q: Great results this month all around, both in Champions League play, as well as in La Liga. What is the feeling among the players now regarding both competitions?

A: Excitement. Lots and lots of excitement. To have moved into 2nd place in La Liga is something that was barely imaginable when I took over this club back in the Liga Adelante. The same can be said for the first leg of the PSG match up. We need to keep the emotions in check however and focus on finishing what we have started. We are all looking forward to the last few months of the season.

If you edit a player how does it affect his growth? Will he grow at all or will editing him make it so he doesn't grow in career mode? Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez are a few others that I would certainly edit...

Also, is there even a growth cap on players as there have been in previous games? For instance I saw on SoFifa that Serge Gnabry has a player potential of 84 but then I watched a video of some bloke who had got him up to 85. If there is, is there any way to edit player potential directly?

Cheers for any help or advice you can give...

*Edit: For clarity's sake, I am planning to edit these players before starting the career mode and using the custom rosters. That way of course I can move Suarez to Barca, Sanchez to Arsenal, etc.

Interesting question. I made a google search for you but couldn't find an answer. It's been asked, but not answered. I want to think that if you edit Jesé he will still grow by 7 points. For example, he's currently 76 with 83 potential, if you edit him to 77 his potential will be 84. Makes sense no? Can't say for sure though.

On your other question, a player can exceed his original potential if you're playing him constantly and he's playing well. For example my starting goalkeeper Ross Worner was 59 overall with 66 potential according to SoFifa. I am now on my third season and he is 69 overall and still growing.

          VfB STUTTGART SIGNS MANAGER
          12 May 2013

Stuttgart -- Following a disappointing 2012-2013 season which saw Die Roten finish 12th in the Bundesliga table, the club sacked manager Bruno Labbadia. The search for a new manager ended this past week with club executives announcing the hiring of [Maelstrom-XIII]. The club has pinned their hopes on the newcomer out of the United States, to turn their fortunes around and go back to their winning ways. But [Maelstrom] knows this is no small feat, trying to topple Bundesliga juggernaut Bayern Munich.

"I have my work cut out for me, there's no doubt. But I took this job knowing the level of competition and quality here in the Bundesliga, and neither me nor my club are going to back down from anyone. I was born here, and now I've come back to Stuttgart to take us to the top of the table."

The VfB Stuttgart season begins anew next month in friendly contests before beginning in earnest in late August.

I can see the scores on the calendar but I don't know where I can see the scores.

Sort of messes up the story to have just results...

Yeah we feel you. The way I do it is I just write down all the goals on my phone's notepad.

AD Alcorcon - '16-'17 Season Update

We are now at three quarters of the way through the season, recently hitting some bumps on the road.

                Standings (after 31 games)

                1. RCD Mallorca - 71pts (32 GP)
                2.. Granada CF - 67pts
                3. AD Alcorcon - 66pts
                4. Sporting Gijon - 58pts
                5. UD Almeria - 57pts (32 GP)
                6. Real Murcia CF - 55pts (32 GP)
                7. UD Las Palmas - 53pts
                8. RM Castilla - 53pts

Our last game was a 0-2 loss against Gijon, our second defeat in the last 10 games. Our record over that span was 5-3-2. It was good news/horrible news for Leandro Paredes over that span as he earned Player of the Month honors for the month of March (we're now in mid April) but just suffered an MCL injury that puts him out for the rest of the season (4 months) He was leading the league in assists with 12 (3 more than the next guy) while also having 8 goals and he will no doubt be missed. Jose Miguel will fill in for him at CAM in our 4-1-2-1-2. Steve Leo Beleck continues to be among the league leaders in goals with 11 confirming that the club did the right thing in purchasing him after he played so well for us on loan last season. He recently did this (pass from Paredes):

                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/tL1jeCV5Xso" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Our next game is at home against Granada but after that we have a favorable rest of the schedule as we've already played both games against Mallorca, Gijon, Almeria, and Las Palmas. The remaining games will be against CD Lugo (22nd), CD Mirandes (18th), RM Castilla, Cordoba CF (12th), Sabadell FC (19th), Hercules CF (15th), SD Ponferradina (20th), SD Eibar (16th), CD Numancia (14th), and Real Murcia CF. During this last 10 games we've been as high as the #1 spot and as low as where we are right now and so long as we're able to take care of business against Granada we'll be in control of our own destiny again for automatic promotion to La Liga.

Where depression has REALLY hit me is in CONMEBOL qualifiers with Venezuela, where I've joined the endless list of head coaches that are just an utterly FAILURE. I loss each and every one of my last 4 games when I was desperate for points and I'm officially eliminated from qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. Brasil (0-3), Peru (1-2), Uruguay (0-3), and Colombia (0-2) put me out of misery in what can only be described as a gauntlet of talent I had to get through (except Peru, damn was that game frustrating). What really sucks about this situation is not being able to improve that squad because I just have to play with the talent there is, which is players in the low to mid 70's playing against the likes of Neymar, Suarez, Cavani, and James which is just unfair. I wanted to qualify for the WC more than I want to get promotion to La Liga so this really hurt, each and every loss more than the previous one. I can't decide whether I should resign or hope I don't get canned and hope to bounce back for the Copa America.

Anyways, here are those standings now, no surprises:

                1. Argentina - 30pts
                2. Colombia - 30pts
                3. Brazil - 28pts
                4. Uruguay - 25pts
                5. Chile - 22pts
                6. Ecuador - 17pts
                7. Paraguay - 15pts
                8. Peru - 14pts
                9. Venezuela - 8pts
                10. Bolivia - 3pts

Posting the updated standings just made me realize the only other team to lose the last 4 games was Bolivia. I suck as much as Bolivia

Alright guys, thanks to everyone for all the good transfer suggestions! But who did I buy in the end? You'll find out in the latest update (this one, if you didn't realize it)!

                  Challenging the Champions

After a great season which ended in two disappointments Hertha BSC is ready to start their European campaign again. The 2014-2015 season will be the first season in the most prestigious European competition, the UEFA Champions League, for the team from the capital since the 1998-1999 season. The Berliners' manager, young Bulgarian Mr. Ganchev believes in his team's chances for reaching at least the quarter finals. Ganchev has also stated that he wants his team to win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double. The fans are interested in seeing who the talented manager will bring in with the reported transfer budget of €10-15 million.

                  Transfers

                  In

                  Marcos Rojo

                  CB, 24, Argentina

€6.8 Million + Van Den Bergh

Hertha BSC's first signing of the year was Argentine the quality-defender Marcos Rojo from Sporting Club de Portugal. The 24 years old centre back/left back had a really good World Cup in which Argentina reached the quarter finals where they lost to the upcoming champions England (!). Rojo played solidly and defended really well.
"Why did I buy him? Because he's a great player, something like a bit worse version of Maldini. I'm sure Marcos will be a really important player during this season", were the coach's words.

                  Daley Blind

                  CDM, 24, The Netherlands

                  €6.5 Million

Many football experts were sure about Daley Blind getting transferred to a bigger club than Ajax. What surprised many was that he chose Hertha BSC. The son of the legendary Danny Blind said that Berlin is a glorious city which we loves and that Hertha's ambitions were exciting and challenging. Blind also mentioned Memphis Depay having a part in the deal. The midfielder-who-plays-left back-aswell is talented and great at passing. He may take the holding midfielder's place in Ganchev's 4-3-3.
"Daley is a great addition for a great price. He's passing and movementare just amazing, he positions himself really well always. I'm really happy about having him in the squad", Ganchev said.

                  Josip Drmic

                  ST, 22, Switzerland

                  €7 Million

Hertha's most expensive tranfer of the Summer was the really talented Croatian-born Swiss international Josip Drmic. The fourth Swiss player of the club netted about half of the goals Nuremberg scored last season. Many fans are questioning the price for the wonderful striker who's fnishing is tremendous. Drmic will probably be a substitute striker.
"Josip is a good player who can finish from everywhere. He may not be yet on his best level but that time will come soon. He knows he'll start from the bench and he's okay with that. And ofcourse there are risks when you play a big price for a young talent but I'm sure Josip will prove everyone wrong when the time comes."

                  Enner Valencia

                  ST, 25, Ecuador

                  €1.25 Million + Wagner

                  Mohammed Abu

                  CDM, 23, Ghana

                  €2.5 Million + Niemeyer

                  Out

                  Sebastian Langkamp

                  Bayer Leverkusen, €1.6 Million

                  Hajime Hosogai

                  Werder Bremen, €3 Million

                  Jens Hegeler

                  Aston Villa, €5.4 Million

                  Felix Bastians

                  QPR, €475.000

                  August 2014

                  Borussia Mönchengladbach 0 - 2 Hertha
                  Kovacic 8', Ramos 35'

It took a while but finally Hertha out-played completely their new rivals. The capital's club was superior in every aspect and they showed it. Kovacic started the match by playing a great one-two with Ramos which led to a powerful shot which flew to the top right corner. After the half-an-hour mark Ramos scored his first after a nice counter attack. And the best thing is that Raffael didn't score.

                  Hertha 2 - 0 Hoffenheim
                  Ramos 38', 82'

                  Eintracht Frankfurt 0 - 1 Hertha
                  Stocker 90'

                  Hertha 2 - 1 Wolfsburg
                  Lasogga 12', Depay 45'
                  Vieirinha 48'

Finally! It was finally our turn get a victory against Wolfsburg. Hertha played well through the whole game and Marcos Rojo dominated his left side while Daley Blind was bossing the midfield. Lasogga scored his first goal from a counter attack and before the whistle Depay received a pass from Kovacic at the edge of offside and he shot the ball from the right to the opposite top corner. Right after the second half started De Bruyne had a shot from the left. The ball hit the post and bounced to Vieirinha's feet who didn't miss. (Note: rebounds should be fixed for Fifa 15. Also keepers take way too long to get up after a save. And how bad are the ball physics if they get "improved" every year?)

                  Press Conference

Hello, Mr. Ganchev. How would you describe your signings?

As I've already said, every one of them is a great and talented player who is important to the team. Just take a look at Daley (Blind) for example. He just arrived and you questioned the buy but he's playing like Xabi Alonso. Marcos (Rojo) has been really important aswell on the left with his tackles and crossing.

You are second by just goal difference. It that surprising?

Not at all. I promised to get the team to the top and we are there now thanks to the great results against top teams. The team is playing much better than last season and you can see that in our results. Our defence is also much stronger now.

You are in a really tough Champions League group. Can you get through it?

I am absolutely sure we can do it. Twente isn't that great of a team, they just lost next season to ChicoBass' Wimbledon by a huge margin. Inter aren't the team they used to be. Only Atletico are a really good team. But we need to play as well as we can.

What do you mean about something called ChicoBass and future?

Just... forget about it. You wouldn't understand it.

Do you still think you can win the German double?

I stand behind my words. With this team and with my coaching we can win everything.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Im new to soccer/fifa and i have a few questions about the career mode.

I basically want to create a young "phenom" ive already created him outside the mode with high movement and average in other areas so hopefully he has room to grow.

My question is if i start him out in the MLS is there a way where he will eventually get "called up" or transferred to one of the higher leagues? Or should i put him on one of the big teams now?

If he does get transferred how long will it take for him to leave MLS? is it based purely on overall or how well he does in games?

                    thanks in advance

Wow, tough luck with that injury. But on the bright side you're playing against worse teams so you should be able to take the full points without Paredes. Talking of him, I got shocked when I saw him being a 69-rated CF when I was transferring players to their current clubs.

And if I were you I would resign, wait for a big country to offer a job, take it and show the nauhgty South Americans who they were bullying!

                        ST, 25, Venezuela

                        €1.25 Million + Wagner

                        Mohammed Abu

                        CDM, 23, Ghana

                        €2.5 Million + Niemeyer

                        Out

                        Sebastian Langkamp

                        Bayer Leverkusen, €1.6 Million

                        Hajime Hosogai

                        Werder Bremen, €3 Million

                        Jens Hegeler

                        Aston Villa, €5.4 Million

                        Felix Bastians

                        QPR, €475.000

                        August 2014

                        Borussia Mönchengladbach 0 - 2 Hertha
                        Kovacic 8', Ramos 35'

It took a while but finally Hertha out-played completely their new rivals. The capital's club was superior in every aspect and they showed it. Kovacic started the match by playing a great one-two with Ramos which led to a powerful shot which flew to the top right corner. After the half-an-hour mark Ramos scored his first after a nice counter attack. And the best thing is that Raffael didn't score.

                        Hertha 2 - 0 Hoffenheim
                        Ramos 38', 82'

                        Eintracht Frankfurt 0 - 1 Hertha
                        Stocker 90'

                        Hertha 2 - 1 Wolfsburg
                        Lasogga 12', Depay 45'
                        Vieirinha 48'

Finally! It was finally our turn get a victory against Wolfsburg. Hertha played well through the whole game and Marcos Rojo dominated his left side while Daley Blind was bossing the midfield. Lasogga scored his first goal from a counter attack and before the whistle Depay received a pass from Kovacic at the edge of offside and he shot the ball from the right to the opposite top corner. Right after the second half started De Bruyne had a shot from the left. The ball hit the post and bounced to Vieirinha's feet who didn't miss. (Note: rebounds should be fixed for Fifa 15. Also keepers take way too long to get up after a save. And how bad are the ball physics if they get "improved" every year?)

I've been telling people since I signed up here that Paredes is THE go-get player for a CM where you're playing with a mid-lower team that you're trying to bring up. SoFifa lists his potential at 83 but he's already an 84 OVR for me. Monaco offered around $30 million for him this last winter and I told them to take a hike. He's staying at Alcorcon till he himself demands to be moved and I will do my best to keep him happy forever (short of sexual favors). He's replace by a 67 OVR 18 Y/O Miguel so that will be fun to monitor.

The thing with Venezuela is that I am Venezuelan and the dream was to lead them to their first WC berth ever and try to take them as far as possible. So that's what keeps me attached to them. I won the 2014 WC with Colombia (though I was playing on Pro at the time, World Class now) and then qualified Spain to the Euro before I stalled to renew a contract and got the offer from Venezuela. As I said, I'm torn.

I haven't done a player career but I'm pretty sure if you do well teams will make offers for you. Not sure how long it takes but I'm sure the better you do the faster it will happen
