      TOON TO THE TOP
      SEASON 1

      Match 28

      Hull 1-1 Newcastle
      Jelavic 80
      Marveaux 83

Brady beat Begovic to the ball and crossed in for Jelavic to head into the empty net to give Hull the lead. Marveaux prodded in the equaliser just a few minutes later.

      Match 29

      Newcastle 3-1 Everton
      Naismith 27
      Sissoko 37
      Remy 76
      Depay 89

Naismith opened the scoring, smashing in from close range. Sissoko equalised when Tim Howard drop kicked the ball into him and he ran the ball into the back of the net. Remy headed in before Depay converted when Howard made the same mistake for a second time.

      Match 30

      Newcastle 2-1 Crystal Palace
      Gayle 8

      Ings 88

      Match 31

      Fulham 1-1 Newcastle
      Ings 54
      Woodrow 65

2 defensive errors allowed both goals. A weak backpass which Ings got onto and Begovic rolling the ball into Woodrow's path meant a 1-1 draw.

      Southampton 1-3 Newcastle
      Gigliotti 24
      Sissoko 56
      Depay 82

                  2 October, 2013

Porto leader in Liga and Champions, not convincing 100%

FC Porto leads both Liga ZON Sagres and Group A of Champions League, but without a really good performance. The problems that RSG's team had in defense against Bayer Leverkusen and Estoril were solved in last matches against Paços Ferreira and Kobenhavn, both won by 1-4. RSG told A Bola: "We aren't playing 100% in some matches, we lose concentration frequently, and we've had lots of problems with fast forwards. We need to improve if we want to win the league and go far in Champions League, now we're going to have a set of hard matches, and we'll see which is our real level".

Liga ZON Sagres and Champions League results of FC Porto were the following:

                  Champions League #1
FC Porto 2-2 Bayer 04 Leverkusen
                  Defour 6', Alex Sandro 55' - KieBling 12' 86'

                  Liga ZON Sagres #5
                  Estoril 2-3 FC Porto

                  Hurtado 90' - Varela 24', Lucho G. 44', Danilo 70', Ghilas 89'

                  Champions League #2
                  FC Kobenhavn 1-4 FC Porto
                  Bolaños 50' - Danilo 13', Lucho G. 35', Ibarbo 64', Ghilas 90'

from the looks of things if you want to grab a really good team in League 2 go with Portsmouth. They got promoted to League 1 in my CM as well as Chico's and they won the league in jamie's Newcastle CM. I thought I saw that someone was doing a Portsmouth career or am I tripping?

I can't remember if anyone is doing one with them or not.

When I first bought FIFA 14 though they were the first CM I did due to their history and a "return to glory" type aspect of the club. It's a good story for someone to pick up. Only a short time ago they were in the Premier League and have fallen all the way to League 2 after entering administration.

                        TOON TO THE TOP
                        SEASON 1

                        Squad Report

Asmir Begovic 85: Asmir was a rock, making loads of saves, unfortunately he couldn't keep everything out. Just 6 clean sheets, room for improvement.

Mathieu Debuchy 80: Strong in defence, whipping in crosses with decent pace but he is getting on a bit.

Marcos Rojo 80: Was pushed out of the squad midseason and only came back in late on. Was a rock whenever he played.

Ron Vlaar 78: An absolute rock. Need I say more. The captain and a worthy one.

Davide Santon 78: Pacey and with great vision on the attack. A bit shaky at the back however.

John Obi Mikel 79: A great signing who controls the midfield with brilliant passing and a strong defensive mind. He also learned how to score while here.

Juan Dominguez 72: A good signing. Young with the brain of a magician. Excellent passing and he has a decent shot on him.

Moussa Sissoko 78: Brilliant. He made surging runs using his power and acceleration and can let fly when he wants to.

Memphis Depay 76: What a long shot this guy has on him. He can pass, cross and shoot. Unfortunately, no growth. Joint top scorer for us with 12 goals.

Luuk De Jong 78: Tall and with a good shot on him. A great target man and I may look to sign him permanently.

Loic Remy 81: Fast and agile with a great shot. The other joint top scorer with 12 goals. Can head the ball well for a small guy.

                        Notable Substitutes/Reserves

Sylvain Marveaux 73: A great technical player who can score and pass.

Vurnon Anita 75: A strong presence in the midfield.

James Chester 72: Surprisingly strong in defence.

Mapou Yanga M'Biwa 79: An absolute rock for us.

When I first bought FIFA 14 though they were the first CM I did due to their history and a "return to glory" type aspect of the club. It's a good story for someone to pick up. Only a short time ago they were in the Premier League and have fallen all the way to League 2 after entering administration.
wow, I didn't know their history. Read a little bit and it's really captivating, definitely a hell of CM out there waiting for someone.
