Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I started a career as manager of Southampton, but my main doubt is do I stick with my current save where the summer window is turned on and the only signing I got is Januzaj on loan for a future fee of 7mil. Or do I start all over again with no summer window. ?

By the way I only played one game of the EPL as of now, so I am not that far into the game.

Ter Stegen is really good, doesn't grow much but he doesn't need to. And he's young as well.

And lastly Leali is my favorite keeper on the game, he's just a monster once you get 5 or 6 years in. If there's any way to can end up getting him to sign, do it. Aside from him though Ahamada is probaly your best bet for getting the most bang for your buck.

What does Ahamada stsrt off at? Whats his average growth at by year 4. What does muslera start off at overall and what's his overall in year 4 what does ter stergen start at and what's his overall in year 4

Ahamada starts at 76, should be at least 80-82 by year 4. Muslera starts at 83 and should be 85-87 by year 4. Tee stegen starts at 80 and he doesn't grow much, maybe 83 by year 4

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Im in year 3 with Southampton currently. Very nice, young team to play and progress with. Finished 6th my 1st year and 5th my second... but Im currently in 6th place entering the final stretch of games after dropping all the way out from 2nd...

I think I may have made a mistake in blowing a significant portion of my transfer budget (38 mill) on Juan Quintero. Alot of people talked him as a great CAM (and he has very high potential), but Im finding he just isnt as dynamic as I want him to be. I struggle to score goals with the team often and hes a part of the problem.

Also, I havent done much with my Euro league qualifications - Ive made it out of the group both years, only to lose in the Round of 32 to whichever team.

I enjoy this game and I enjoy career mode, but I must admit Im frustrated with how broken the AI is. Ive played enough games - its very obvious that the AI either plays on "aggressive" or "non aggressive", regardless of what difficulty you play at. And if they're on "aggressive" - watch out. They'll challenge for balls all the time, make great, quick passes, and youll find yourself losing or drawing bottom table teams.

Whats equally annoying is playing a really solid club like Chelsea and hammering them 3-0 because their defenders slack off and are in the "non-aggressive" mode. It just makes the realism die down a bit for me. All the other stuff works really well in this mode... but the actual AI gameplay definitely needs some addressing, I think.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Just started a CM as Aston Villa:
            January window:
            In:
            Marco Verratti - £7.5m + Albrighton
            Luke Shaw - 3.5m + Bennett

            Out:
            Gardner - £700k
            Steiber - £80k

Not much action but I also loaned out a lot of players because villa carry a s*** load of youngsters that won't be able to get into the first team.
I won all 3 friendlies looking forward to first game of season - Arsenal away.
I always seem to play the tough games but sim the easy ones so my season does that take ages to complete.

So which one would you recommend that I get? I play a 442 diamond and have decent defense and very solid strikers and midfielders so what goalie will fit best in that scheme

none imo. In my ManUtd career, I signed Leno first season as a back up to De Gea. Leno ended up playing a lot better and by year 4, was 86 ovr. He got up to 89, then i accidentally saved over that career with a different one. : but he plays phenomenal. once went one season letting in only 7 goals all season in EPL with him playing every game. even took over the starting role for the German National team. i'd recommend him over anyone. I have yet to see his value go over 10.5 mil sterling (although form does change it technically)

about the Butland problem, I've yet to get him past 75. signed him in multiple careers in the first January, but he never grows for me.

What team does Leno play for? What's his age I don't like having a real old keeper the oldest I want is for him to be 27 or 28 in year 4 at the mad and if he is older then I'll find me another keeper to go with him that's a good backup that's young

                            Update on Internazionale, season 1

Either there's something about Inter that I don't know, or I've become too good at FIFA. After 11 games undefeated, I'm top of the table on 27 points (eight wins, three draws), a point ahead of Roma.

One good thing is that there isn't a huge gap in the title race. The top five of Inter, Roma, Juventus, Napoli, and Lazio are all within four points of each other. The gap between Lazio and sixth-placed Milan, however, is a good four points – there's a clear dominant group or top five, so to speak, in Serie A.

The four league games I've played since the last update are a 3-1 away win over Torino, a 2-0 home win against Hellas Verona, a 4-1 victory at Atalanta, and a 2-2 draw at Udinese. I also simulated a 4-0 thrashing of Novara in the Coppa Italia, with the admittedly-homesick Jonathan coming on to score a second-half hat-trick from the RM position.

                            Transfers

First off, the 4-4-1-1 is the way forward.

Jonathan has admitted that he's homesick, and as I mentioned in my first post, any player causing any sort of problems with squad harmony will be sold ASAP. The kid has grown two points and has a value of €7 million, so he should get me a decent sum that can go towards a player I have my eye on – Antonio Candreva from Lazio.

Alvaro Pereira has a fractured tibia, so I'll be picking up Domenico Criscito, the left back at Zenit. Along with that will be a fire sale of players who don't merit game time – Samuel, Chivu, Mariga, and a few more. That should ideally free up about €200,000 or so in wages. I'll also try to get loans for players who have a future at Inter but need to play now – Wallace, Taider, Belfodil, and a few others.

I'll have to make wholesale changes in the summer – replace players who are retiring or who don't fit my system, clear out the deadwood, make a couple of marquee signings, and add depth at all positions to (hopefully) compete in Europe.

Now here's another poll for you guys. Which world-class players do you want me to sign in the summer? Should I go for a pair of dribbling wizards on the wings and buy Draxler? Do you want to see me pull of the swoop of the season and tempt Jovetic back to Serie A? Joao Moutinho has said that winning Ligue 1 is a dream for Monaco – can I tempt him with trophies at Inter as the replacement for the ineffective Kovacic? And who can replace the retiring Zanetti at right back, and the out-of-contract Cambiasso in defensive midfield? I want to hear what you have to say!

enjoying this so far! might attempt to do one with BVB (after the update where Lewandowski moves to try and rebuild successfully).

but I would HIGHLY recommend Alaba from Bayern. If I'm following you right, you should be able to buy him for about 25mil sterling. but he eventually plays like a world beater. i've gotten him up to 91 before. he can play LB, LM, CDM, and CM i think, but i've played him everywhere on my half of the field and occasionally as a LW. you could play him as a CDM or RB. he is definitely one you need to pull out all the stops to keep seeing how versatile he is.

Draxler is a beast and essentially is the "middle class Ronaldo". It would be a hefty fee for him, but he does wonders. However, I would still suggest Alaba first and foremost, unless you see Draxler linked to move. (haven't really seen him move from Schalke in all the CM's i have done)

As much as I would love to buy the best LB in the game, I doubt it's a realistic buy (one of the conditions of my save is transfers that could actually happen). I doubt Alaba would move from a treble-winning monster to a fallen giant that's just got back to the Champions Cup, even if I qualify by winning Serie A.

Furthermore, I don't think I can spend that kind of money on a defender when I have to buy at least 3 or 4 other first team players.
