I just started year 5 and had the most frustrating transfer period to date. I am working on building up a team through the YA primarily and have worked my way up to the FL Championship from FL 2. At the end of year 4 my CAM 19 YO, 75 OVR, potential to be special - with 5* weak foot and 4* special moves had started rumbling about the 'culture' and I tried to dump more money into him but he demanded to be sold at the beginning of the transfer period. Crap. So I had a backup who although not as good long term is serviceable and I would be ok. Then with 4 days left in the transfer period out of the blue my 20 YO 78 OVR CB (phenomenal stats across the board) demanded to be sold this period. I hoped there wouldn't be time and I'd be able to make it but my board sold him on the last day.
Ugh - two young players that were going to be the cornerstone of my team for years to come are now gone. I am not sure which bothers me more - the CAM is one of my most important players and had great week foot, etc so I have no idea how i'll find someone as good as he is. On the other hand, my 78 CB is being replaced with a 65 CB who doesn't have the same size & strength to dominate the center. Ouch...
Question for you guys - any idea what can be done to prevent this? Especially with the CB - it was totally out of the blue and I couldn't stop it. I really hope this doesn't happen too often in my CM as is it just maddening.
