Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Thanks Chico. I was wondering about that, I have not edited any players on xb1 like I did on 360. But I was curious because I had not seen any of my youth players switch to long sleeves or compressions. Thanks again will continue to monitor this.

Not bad especially since they just sold Costa and have a ST slot available. I like it. Sucks to see Tottenham knocked you out of the cup, but hey at least you didn't lose 4-0 :/ incredible match against Chelsea though! What really surprised me was seeing that you went unbeaten in the league but you didn't give anyone the POTM award. Don't do that too often or Human Resources will come knocking! :P who will you be facing in the Capital One final?
Thanks! I'm looking forward to using Muniaín as well. Kramer and Benteke I think will do really well. Benteke is similar to Bony and I got him for a cut price deal due to him only having 5 months left on his contract. Chelsea also have Agüero so it's a bit realistic Bony fighting Agüero for the starting spot! Chelsea was a tight game that I came out on the right side of and the Spurs game was similar just with a different result unfortunately. I forgot to give a POTM as I did this update quickly before I went out to Work Experience. Liverpool are the opponents in the final.

You had a decent month with Ossuana. Really unlucky against Spurs after having a great fitdt leg. Great push up to 6th as well this month. Its really tight up there.

I'm very disappointed, as well. I decided to bench Zaza and Embolo is doing well as his replacement. Zaza just feels very sluggish and slow even though he has about 90 pace. He also can't head at all (his heading is very high) and his finishing hasn't been good. If I stay with Verona for one more season I'll look for a replacement in the summer.

Now, let's get to some replying which I haven't done in some time.

Chico You are doing amazingly with Osasuna and I think you can make it to the Champions League if you can continue your good form. You always seem to play well against big teams (we don't talk about Spurs, okay?) but you lose too many points against smaller teams. Your team is very interesting and it has some potential.

Rabbit So many goals! There were at least three goals in a lot of games and then you destroyed Atleti (who I find a tough team on FIFA). Sad to see Morientes go but you got some good money for him and Castillejo seems like an interesting replacement. You have some big games next month but you can beat them. With Dagenham thinks aren't going that well, though.

Tex You fail to beat Eibar and Almeria but you beat Real Madrid? Okay then. Even with some dropped points you are still in a great position. I don't know if I want you to reach the Europa League because you won't have a lot of squad depth next season but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. You're doing very well with St. Pauli, as well. The league title could be yours.

Indi The Wednesday is on a roll and there aren't many teams that can stop you. Arsenal and Spurs are both very good teams and you beat both of them. If you continue to perform like this you'll win the league. You could try to sign Jesé Rodriguez or Jay Rodriguez, they are pretty similar to Alexis and James. Both of them are fast and good finishers.

Keano Those signings are very interesting! Like Chico said it will be interesting to see Kramer in someone's team and Muniain is a good player. Benteke is a good replacement for Bony and Caulker is a solid defender. Great job against Chelsea but a shame with Spurs knocking you out. I hope you do well and make it to the Champions League spots.

Cruzerr Things seem do be going well with Stuttgart. Second in the league is a good achievement and I'm very, very glad that you have decided to keep Ibisevic who is in good form. Hopefully this time the save doesn't glitch.

Moose I haven't had time watch your videos lately but from what I've read here you signed Dybala and Pastore who are very good players and they will improve your team a lot. I'll catch up soon, I promise.

That should be everyone. I'm very sorry if I forgot someone, I really am.

Thanks! I'm happy with all the signings I made. Kramer was brought to have a 2nd good quality CDM as Cañas has been dropping stats since I started this career. He is now a 72 Ovr from a 77 Ovr. Benteke is obvious. Muniaín is a replacement for Dyer who was nearing 30 and I thankfully offloaded him to Southampton. Reid wasn't increasing at all and was 28 so I decided to go for the younger and slightly better Caulker. I think I can push for 4th seeing as it's so tight. There's a little gap between the top 3 and the rest but if I can get a good run of form up I don't see why we can't get 3rd.

As for your Career, An average start with the couple of draws after Napoli but you started to pick it up towards the end. Chuopo-Moting has been immense. Sad to see Zaza isn't working out just yet. Hopefully his form will pick up in the next couple of months.

                MotM: Nathan Dyer

We need a victory here after a terrible December. The B team was given the chance and they took it. They dominated the game but again found it hard to score. Sigurdsson forced an early save from Kivrak and the Dyer managed to score in the 21st minute. Berahino's shot bounced off Onuoha in front of Dyer inside the 6 yard box. He managed to poke it into the top corner ahead of Faurlin. Modeste managed to get a goal back on the half hour mark. Fer won the header and knocked it down to Modeste who was free in the box to pick his spot and score. In the lead up to this goal Sigurdsson had been fouled but the referee didn't give anything. Austin having already earned a yellow received a straight red card for a challenge on Shelvey in the 73rd minute. With the extra man we forced a string of excellent saves from Kivrak before Cañas of all people popped up with the winner in the last minute. He managed to find space in between the LB and CB before keeping his cool to slide the ball past Kivrak for the winner. A sorely needed win.

                Jan 4th
                Match 21
                Hull 1-2 Swansea

                Felipe Anderson 15'
                Sagbo 38'
                Bony 84' (Pen)

                MotM: Winston Reid

A 4-2-3-1 was used today. A through ball by Clyne for Anderson was intercepted by McShane. Anderson kept running and took it off McShane on the edge of his box before calmly putting the ball through Cillessen's legs. Meyler chipped a first time ball over Amat's head to Sagbo who controlled it on his chest before volleying past Scuffet. We had chance after chance which Cillessen saved. Anderson was having a great game at CAM and won the penalty with 6 minutes left. He dribbled through the defence and Robertson slid in taking him out completely. Bony coolly converted to give us a deserved 3 points.

                McKenzie 18' (Kavanagh)
                Frecklington 24'
                Ki (Shelvey)
                McKenzie 81'

                MotM: Tom McKenzie

A 4-3-3 was used today with recently promoted Cian Kavanagh deployed at CDM and other youth products Graham, Tidser, Wilson and McKenzie also getting starts with the latter grabbing another 2 goals and Man of the Match. Jefferson Montero stole the ball from a free kick and had a clear run on goal before he slotted away early in the game. McKenzie received the ball with his back to goal, rolled the defender and put it away with his left foot across Loach to double the lead. A long range effort from Frecklington beat an unsighted Wilson with Rotherham's only shot on target. 2 substitutes Ki and Shelvey combined instantly with the latter sliding the other in. Ki took a first time shot from the edge of the area that went low and through the legs of the defender. Just after the 80th minute Graham had an attempted through ball to Dyer cut out by Rotherham captain Morgan but unfortunately for him the ball only rolled to red hot McKenzie who put it home calmly past Loach for his second, this time with his right foot. James Loveridge, on loan at Rotherham from us, started and played well.

                Capital One Cup
                Semi Final Leg 1

                Piazon 84'

                MotM: Petr Cech

It was a really tight game with Chelsea only registering 1 shot on target. The goal came from a good piece of play from Chelsea. Ivanovic managed to get inside Bernat and he drilled a ball across which Piazon got to before Clyne and Scuffet didn't stand a chance of saving it from that range. Centurion hit the post with a header on 20 minutes and then headed wide a few minutes later. With few chances Piazon was sent off 6 minutes from time for picking up a second yellow card. From the resulting free kick Centurion took it down and volleyed it just wide. He then had a great chance to equalize after cutting inside but it was a weak shot that Man of the Match Cech saved comfortably.

                Bony 55'
                Shelvey 78'

                MotM: Jonjo Shelvey

This was a 6th (Everton) vs 7th (Us) clash. We could leapfrog the Toffees with a win here. It was an even game in which Everton threw the first punch. Barkley finding some space inside the area to first time a Gibson pass. A bullet header from Bony soon after was saved by Howard before Coleman took down Bernat inside the box just as he was about to pull the trigger. Bony put it away to reach the 20 goal mark for the season. Delph then supplied the winning pass for Shelvey. He turned inside Stones on the left hand side of the area before curling around a motionless Howard in the 78th minute and fire us up to 6th.

                Montero 9' (Berahino)
                Sigurdsson 38' (Pen)
                Dyer 41' (Berahino)

                MotM: Kurt Zouma

Saido Berahino had a great game up front getting 3 assists and Kurt Zouma earned Man of the Match for a solid performance at the back. The only blip was when he and Koulibaly left Hooper too much space to head in an early cross. Montero leveled on 9 minutes running away from Kelly and onto a Berahino through ball. He sprinted across Wynter before shooting in off the right post past Hennessey. Berahino showed off his quick feet dodging a tackle and being taken down in the process earning a penalty. Sigurdsson coolly converted. Another counter attack goal was scored on 41 minutes. Berahino took the ball into him before turning and playing a great ball through to Dyer on the far side. He ran onto it in the middle of the box and quickly shifted the ball around Hennessey. Berahino tried the spectacular with a bicycle kick on the hour mark but it didn't come off. Neither did Dyer's attempted chip.

Kalidou Koulibaly is out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Ankle.

                Sigurdsson 58' (Bony)

                MotM: Simone Scuffet

In what is Wilfried Bony's last game with the club we had to go out and overturn a 1-0 deficit. After a first half of us dominating possession but not getting any shots on target and Scuffet keeping us in it with some top quality saves we managed to grab a goal through Gylfi Sigurdsson with our first shot on Petr Cech's goal. After some tight play Bony found Sigurdsson in front of Aké. He wriggled by him and shot into the bottom right corner just before Fabregas tackled him. The rest of the match was tight with Sigurdsson missing a glorious chance with seconds left of Extra Time. Penalties it was to be.

                MotM: Ki Sung Yeung

After some really nice passing play Ki finished it off with a first time shot from the edge of the area through the legs of Chiriches and past Brad Friedel. Adebayor held off Zouma inside the area and then proceeded to beat Fabianski at his near post. Townsend took the lead for Spurs firing into the bottom right after initially being tackled by Cañas. Ings came off the bench and immediately made an impact heading in a Ki corner after getting free. Capoue won the game for Spurs in the 82nd minute heading a Townsend cross, knocking us out of the FA Cup.

I thought this was clear!!! He was supposed to go to Man City, not Chelsea!!! God damnit!!! I now officially hate Swansea (because I feel this was a board decision).

They were the only ones along with Arsenal who offered!

You also seem to be doing well with Juventus! Keep it up.

                    December

                    SkyBet Championship Match:

                    Exeter City 2 – Brighton & Hove Albion 1

                    EXE – Gomez (6’)
Kwabena Appiah takes a corner from the right an Joseph Gomez makes a great run from outside the box to flick the ball with his head, into the far corner. It’s Gomez’s first goal for club and he’s really been contributing to the team in the last couple of games!

                    BRI Toko (35’)
Nzuzi Toko sprints through the defence and onto a great lofted ball by Kazenga LuaLua and he tidily finishes at the keeper’s near post.

                    EXE –Moore-Taylor (63’)
Inters Konate wiggles his way into the box and blasts the ball and forces a great save from the keeper. Unfortunately, the rebound falls straight to Moore-Taylor who comes out of nowhere and slots it in the corner.

                    Our Best Performer: Inters Konate

                    SkyBet Championship Match:

                    Huddersfield 1 – Exeter City 0

                    HUD – Vaughan (66’)
Jake Carroll delivers a cross in from the right. The ball falls straight to James Vaughan who has his back towards goal. Despite being under pressure by Joseph Gomez, Vaughan spins and shoots at the same time and the ball flies into the top corner.

Our Best Performer: Benjamin Feudjou (Quite an awful match to be honest. Man of the Match, Alex Smithies, made some unreal saves to keep out Feudjou and another for a Reece Brown shot. The goalkeeper saved Huddersfield from not losing because we would have scored three if not.)

                    SkyBet Championship Match:

                    Exeter City 2 – Bournemouth 1

                    BOU – Gosling (27’)
Tokelo Rantie squares the ball to Dan Gosling on the edge of the box who hits the ball over the keeper and into the top right corner. It’s a very nice goal!

                    EXE – Konate (37’)
Exeter press high up the field for the equaliser and Paris Cowan-Hall can break down the right and deliver a high cross onto the head of Konate who glances it past the keeper and into the back of the net.

                    EXE –Appiah (45’)
The keeper slips under pressure by Inters Konate and the clearance is poor. The ball falls to Appiah who’s just inside the box. He flicks the ball to the right before bending the ball into the far corner and far out of reach.

                    Our Best Performer: Inters Konate

                    SkyBet Championship Match:

                    Leeds United 0 – Exeter City 2

                    EXE Appiah (9’)
Albian Ajeti tries to loft the ball over the defence but the ball is cut out by Jason Pearce who then attempts to pass back to his keeper. The pass is way too light and Appiah can use his pace to get onto the ball and slot it under the keeper.

                    EXE Ribeiro (PEN) (22’)
A throw in is taken from the left and Allassani receives the ball. He does a couple of step-overs to get past his marker and cut into the box. Tommaso Bianchi tries to get the ball off of Allassani and slides in, in the box. The referee gives the penalty with no doubt. A confident Ribeiro takes the penalty and he places it into the top left corner.

                    Our Best Performer: Cowan-Hall

                    SkyBet Championship Match:

                    Exeter City 4 – Middlesbrough 2

                    EXE – Feudjou (11’)
Allassani clears the ball away and it goes to the feet of Kwabena Appiah on the half-way line. He sprints at the defenders before slotting Cowan-Hall in behind on the left. He crosses the ball into the box for Feudjou to side-foot volley it into the far right corner of the goal.

                    MID – Tomlin (28’)
Adam Clayton slots the ball through a wide gap in the defence for Lee Tomlin to run onto and beat the keeper at his near post.

                    EXE – Appiah (39’)
Ribeiro throws the ball into play for Feudjou to take a touch, spin and deliver a great ball into the box with his weaker foot for Appiah to use his to missle the ball past the keeper and into the very top corner.

                    MID –Nsue (41’)
Ribeiro loses the ball and Albert Adomah crosses the ball low into the middle. Jordan Moore-Taylor amazingly turns his back away from the ball, allowing Nsue to slide in and poke the ball into the goal.

                    EXE – Appiah (49’)
Feudjou runs onto the ball on the right and crosses the ball along the ground which goes to Appiah who shoots on the half turn and the ball rockets into the far corner.

                    EXE –López Ruano (89’)
Exeter City finish the game off with Ruano drifting into the middle and then back-heeling the ball to Aaron Dean who holds the ball well before giving it back to the left back. Ruano uses his left foot to open up his body and take it past the keeper.

                    Our Best Performer: Benjamin Feudjou

                    SkyBet Championship Match:

                    Exeter City 2 – Nottingham Forest 1

                    NOT – Fox (36’)
Djamel Abdoun sprints down the left and cuts inside. He holds the ball up for Daniel Fox to overlap and feeds the ball to him. The Exeter defence opens up for Fox who can drift into the middle from the left and hit the ball along the ground and past Mabil.

                    EXE –Dean (PEN) (38’)
Inters Konate fools Daniel Fox with a roulette turn and the defender clatters straight into him. Fox gets a yellow and Aaron Dean is confident enough to take the penalty. He tucks the ball into the bottom left corner for the equaliser.

                    EXE Konate (54’)
Allassani crosses the ball into the near post and Benjamin Feudjou flicks the ball on into the middle for Konate to ghost in and knock the ball into the back of the net.

                      Hellas Verona

                      March 2017

                      Semi Final, 2nd leg
                      Genoa (1) 0 - 4 (6) Hellas Verona
                      Choupo-Moting 10', 25', Embolo 55', Nainggolan 90'

"We did a great job today and we really deserve to finally be in the cup final. We dominated the game and Genoa didn't have many chances. Radja (Nainggolan) scored the fourth goal with a nice shot and he's becoming an important player. It is yet unclear who we will face in the final but I think we can beat every team no matter who it is."

                      Hellas Verona 2 - 0 Torino
                      Masuaku 29', Choupo-Moting 58'

                      Simulated.

                      Juventus 1 - 1 Hellas Verona
                      Rafinha 41'
                      Ayhan 36'

"I'm a bit disappointed that we still aren't able to beat Juventus but a draw against them is a very good result. Mattia (Perin) had a good game in goal and the defence played well, too. Kaan's (Ayhan) amazing free kick sadly wasn't enough to win the game but I'm proud of the boys."

                      Round of 16, 2nd leg
                      Hellas Verona (3) 2 - 1 (1) Fenerbahce
                      Choupo-Moting 81' pen, Zaza 90'
                      Diego 42'

"And we are through to the quarter finals! Fenerbahce gave us a tough time but the penalty and the red card changed everything in our favour. After our equaliser our attacking was much better and even Zaza scored, after missing a one-on-one though. Olympiakos, our next opponent, won't be very hard to beat."

                      Hellas Verona 1 - 1 Cagliari
                      Milik 28'
                      Ibarbo 81'

                      Simulated.

                      Quarter Final, 1st leg
                      Olympiakos 0 - 2 Hellas Verona
                      Choupo-Moting 15', Zaza 72'

"This result wasn't a surprise for me at all. We dictated the tempo and Olympiakos didn't have that many chances. Eric (Choupo-Moting) continued his good form and Zaza scored again. We are technically through to the semi finals."

                      Player of the Month

                      Eric Choupo-Moting

The Cameroonian striker gets his second player of the month award in a row after having another good month as the main danger man of Hellas Verona. Choupo-Moting scored five goals this month and his goals secured a lot of points for his side.

                      Hot

                      Eric Choupo-Moting

The player of the month netted five goals which were all important for his side.

                      Kaan Ayhan

The 22 years old central defender, who also became the captain of the team at the end of January, is growing on the pitch as a leader and as a defensive player and he continues to be the most solid defender of the team. On top his amazing defending he also scored a beautiful free kick against Juventus.

                      Radja Nainggolan

Nainggolan has become an important part of Verona's midfield in these two months. His defensive and offensive qualities are important for the team and his physicality combined with his passing abilities improve the playing of the team a lot.

                        FIFA 15 - Season 1

                        Blanquiazules’

                        October 2014

                        Sevilla FC 3 - RC Deportivo 0
                        SEV - Iborra 15', Bacca 30', Vitolo 36'
                        MOTM: Beto[/i]

Luis Fariña intercepted a pass into the box, but was pushed off the ball by Iborra who collected it before turning to fire it into the net. Iago Aspas sent a low cross into the box that was deflected by Lopo, but Bacca beat the keeper to the ball to poke it in just as the keeper dove for the ball. Iago Aspas got free down the left side of the box and sent a low cross that found the open Vitolo in front of goal for the easy tap in.

                        RC Deportivo 2 - Valencia CF 1
                        DEP - Fariña 42', Cavaleiro 66'
                        VAL - De Paul 27'
                        MOTM: Fabricio

Valencia hit first when De Paul got the ball at the top of the box and fired a well placed shot into the top right corner that hit off the post and in. Perez attacked up the middle and found Fariña on the left between two defenders and he took one touch and poked it past the keeper on the near post to equalize. Madunjanin set up to send a corner into the box and picked out Cavaleiro on the near post who was able to direct the ball into the top right corner with a well timed header to win the match.

                        RCD Espanyol 3 - RC Deprtivo 1
                        ESP - Sanchez 41', Montañes 48', Stuani 58'
                        DEP - Cuenca 90'
                        MOTM: Cañas

Victor Sanchez passed the ball off and made a great run through the middle of the defense to get the ball back and finish first time to the right side of the net. Montañes took advantage of Diakite going down injured and was able to score while the man was down and unable to defend to double the lead. Stuani added a third off a cross from Cañas that he was able to get above the defender and head into the top right corner of the goal. Deportivo added a consolation goal when Cavaleiro played a ball over the top to Postiga in the box who layed it off to Cuenca as the keeper was diving at his feet and Cuenca was able to tap it home.

Ivan Cavaleiro was able to put in some solid performances in an otherwise poor month for the club as a whole. He scored the winning goal against Valencia with a well placed header to provide the highlight of the month for Deportivo.

                        Manager Comments

Poor form - A poor month overall in which we were completely dismantled in two separate matches. The win over Valencia salvaged the month from being a complete disaster. Every aspect of the team needs to get better, especially after looking so promising last month.

Juan Carlos Valerón - The return started out well with the penalty to secure a draw in his debut, but his form has been disappointing ever since. Perhaps it is the pressure of returning to a club he performed at such a high level with, but he needs to get better or risk being dropped from the side going forward.

Injury Crisis - Luis Fariña and Modibo Diakite will both miss the next 4 weeks after sustaining injuries in the match against Espanyol. How the referee let Espanyol continue to play so reckless is beyond me, but on both injuries the offending player didn't even get so much as a warning from the referee. I know these comments won't go over well with people upstairs, but something needed to be said. When we play them again this season I hope that they protect my players much better.

@Jamie: Wimbledon first, a good run in the League Cup, especially with the result against City! Apart from the Cheltenham and Southend games your league form was good. 7th is an alright place to be right now. And the way it is points wise you could easily get up to 2nd/3rd with good results. Newcastle now, Unlucky with those draws against weaker teams but good results against the stronger ones. The gap from you and Chelsea is still great so props on that!

@Moose: Nice transfers there! A real good catch getting Pastore on a free! Dybala I hope will be good for you and he is versatile which is always handy. Obita is a great move for the future also.

@Tex: Deportivo first, Good to see you bringing back a club legend! Much like Chelsea and Drogba. It was a rough start though, only picking up 1 point. Next month, draws against Eibar and Almeria! Then you go and beat Real! Medunjanin did really well this month and 7th is a good spot to be for you. I also like the style at the bottom of your post. Just seen another month up, looked like a rough couple of games against Sevilla and Espanyol. You got 3 points in the middle though so that's not too bad. Unfortunate to see you slip to 11th though. Hopefully you'll have a better November.
Pauli now, Unbeaten with club! Nice beating of Inter in the Champions and then followed up with good, solid league play. Top of both the league and the Champions league group. Well done and I hope the Pauli juggernaut continues!

@Cabee: A real shame about the match you had to forfeit because the rest of the month was great. It's amazing to see you challenging for promotion in your first season in the Championship! December, A decent month aside from the Huddersfield match which seemed like EA determined that you were not going to win. The rest of the month was good though and Konate looks like he was a good pick up from FA. You've also moved up a place to 2nd which is great.

@Cruzerr: It was a tight month with either 1-0 wins or 1-1 draws. Ibisevic is kind of like to you what Bony was to me! Sickening to lose 3 points and only end up with 1 due to a last minute equalizer. You're in a good position in the league too only 2 points behind Bayern. Keep it up!

@Indi: August, You only barely drew with me boys! Good solid wins followed to get you off to a great start. September, 4 wins from 4 and 3 clean sheets says it all. *Cough* Westwood *Cough* Nice hammering of Arsenal in the cup! Spurs were the only ones to put goals past you in the month and considering they won the league last year that's nothing to be ashamed about. I hope next month can be just as productive!

@Rabbit: Barca really did you in this month, both their teams! It only seemed like fate when they were the ones to deny you their title I guess. A solid league and cup then after that. Hammerings of Numancia and Atletico in the cup over 2 legs! Valencia gave you good games too. A 6 point lead at the top and qualified for the Last 16 of Europe. Very good month. Morientes was a big sale but you put the money to good use. Turossi and Gonzalo were nice pre-contracts. Castillejo looks like a good buy also!

@Jagger: You're back! Birmingham's a good choice and you had a decent preseason. Looking forward to seeing if you made any transfers of your own.

@Simp: A great hammering in the cup to start the month. Then a decent draw against Juve before advancing in the Champions League. Good to get 2 away goals in the Quarters also. Nice to see Zaza notch a couple of goals in the last 2 games. The title is surely yours now with a 12 point gap. Here's to European glory!

Recap. A.Maze.BALLS. A couple of months after massively disappointing Paez in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup the Daggers' B team was given another chance in this game out of necessity more than anything. They seemed well on their way to another catastrophe before Vurnon Klok had the half of his life, scoring once and assisting 3 times to lead Dagenham to an amazing turn around to move on in this competition. By the time the game was over Dagenham had outshot Stoke 17 to 6 (8 to 5 on goal). GREAT way to kick off the month.

                            Reyna 11' (Victor Andrade)
                            Landa 79' (Victor Andrade)

Recap: Hard-fought win against a Norwich side that controlled possession but wasn't able to make much with it. VA is trying to break away from the pack in the race for lead assistman in the league.

                            League Match 25
                            Sunderland - Dagenham (3-0)
                            Manolas 61'
                            Romarinho 68'
                            Johnson 77'

Recap: And much like Fulham, Sunderland somehow sweeps the Daggers this season this time winning by a greater score than earlier in the year. Dagenham just hasn't been able to show any kind of consistency this season and yet somehow they're in position for a top 5 finish in the league. The fans, however, are very frustrated (and rightfully so).

                            F.A. Cup - Round of 16
                            Bolton - Dagenham (2-7)
                            Locadia 25' (Jones)
                            Spearing 45'
                            Reyna 47' (Gonzalez)
                            Jones 54' (Gonzalez)

                            Wheater 60' (OG)
                            Reyna 80' (Caseres)
                            Caseres 87' (Gonzalez)

                            Fernandez 90'
                            Victor Andrade 90+ (Gonzalez)

Recap: Dagenham just scores at will in the F.A. Cup, it's what they do. They took the will out of the Championship side Bolton thanks to unexpected contributions from one of the newcomers to the team, Alexander Gonzalez, who assisted 4 times while running up and down the right side. The reward wasn't as good as expected though ...

Champions League - Round of 16, 1st Leg
                            FC Porto - Dagenham (2-4)
                            Locadia 2' (Victor Andrade)
                            Kelvin 25' (P)
                            Reyna 56' (Jones)
                            Reyna 64' (Victor Andrade)
                            Nimely 76' (Gonzalez)

                            Quintero 85'

Recap: Considering how out of sync this team can look at times, OUTSTANDING result on the road in Portugal not only winning by 2 goals but also scoring 4 goals. Although the score may not show this game was really tight all along but the Daggers fought through it all to put themselves in a great position to advance to quarter finals.

                            English Premier League - Standings
                            1. Chelsea - 53pts
                            2. Arsenal - 49pts
                            3. Manchester Utd - 47pts
                            4. Fulham - 45pts
                            5. Liverpool - 43pts

                            6. Manchester City - 42pts
                            7. Aston Villa - 42pts
                            8. Dagenham - 42pts
                            9. Tottenham - 41pts
                            ...
                            18. Swansea City - 19pts
                            19. QPR - 17pts
                            20. Crystal Palace - 13pts

It's amazing that Dagenham continue to be in a position to make a jump into a top 4 finish when they have been so inconsistent, the loss to Sunderland (by 3 goals!) is just inexcusable. Nevertheless, they ARE in position to move up the standings rather quickly and they also deserve some praise for that. They also surprised quite a few people with their performance in Portugal but truth be told analysts don't know what to make of the Daggers, with some predicting they'll bow out of the competition as soon as their next game in East London while some are predicting they'll at least reach the semi finals. The Daggers will need to get their act together against their opponent in the F.A. Cup quarter finals, none other than Chelsea. Finally, while it was an outstanding first month for Alexander Gonzalez, the Venezuelan will be sidelined for a couple of weeks after suffering a concussion in practice at the beginning of March.

In academy news the team's scout in Venezuela continues his 6-month assignment. Let's see if anything's changed with the youth squad:
                            • Pavel Vrhovec (CF, 54-60 OVR, 83-93 POT): 17-year old from Croatia already showing some good speed in the academy. The great news is that he's an elite prospect at a position of need but the bad news is that, due to his age, he's unlikely to remain in the academy past this season.
                            • Nathan Kenny (RM, 63-67, 83-89): 17-year old from Ireland described as technically gifted and projecting as a complete midfielder.
                            • Sean Foran (LM, 62-66, 83-89): 16-year old from Ireland who is the fastest out of all the Irishmen in the academy. Our midfield could be 75% Irish in the near future.
                            • Victor Soriano (GK, 60-64, 83-89): 15-year old from Venezuela who is highly regarded and has a chance to become a special youngster in the PL if he sticks in the academy for a couple of seasons.
                            • Franco Gomez (CAM, 50-58, 78-92)*: 16-year old from Venezuela whose promise makes up for his size (5'5"). Described as a playmaker.
                            • Esteban Navarro (CM, 50-54, 80-86): 15-year old from Venezuela also described as a playmaker. His skillset may not necessarily be a good fit for the diamond.
                            • Damiano Janse (CB, 43-45, 79-85): 15-year old from Netherlands who will actually be tried at CDM since his stature (5'11") isn't ideal for a CB.
                            • Fabrice Mengual (RM, 56-60 78-84): 16-year old playmaker from France who actually projects as more of a CAM. He's a candidate to be promoted in May since he may not progress a whole lot more in the academy.
                            • Pablo Escobar (CAM, 60-64, 74-80): 17-year old from Venezuela who likely won't improve much more this season unless he stays in the academy until May.
                            • Matthieu Maupay (CAM, 57-61, 74-80)*: 16-year old from France finally settled in at a position. Described as an attacker.
                            • Victor Soriano (CF, 50-62, 70-88)*: 16-year old from Venezuela representing the second prospect from the country in our academy with that name and last name. He has indeed settled in at CF.
                            • Stef Gilissen (CB, 40-44, 74-82): 16-year old from Netherlands who has settled to play at CB. Physically strong.
                            • Ciaran Kavanagh (CM, 58-62, 72-78): 16-year old from Ireland who also projects as a technically-gifted CAM.
                            • Siem Reijnen (CB, 42-48, 70-82): 15-year old from the Netherlands described as physically strong. We hope he'll grow past his current 6'1" frame but we like him at his position.

                            * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Current roster (* Denotes player graduated from the youth academy):

                            Amione 59'

Comments: Finally some friendlies against solid competition so we called our main guys for these games. Excellent victory in Asia with even a saved penalty kick by Perdomo but a tough-luck loss in Mexico against a god-like Ochoa who saved 13 shots to finish with a perfect game rating of 10. Great preparation for the upcoming Copa America

                            Opponents in March:

                            3/2 - Cardiff City
                            3/9 - Swansea City
                            3/16 - Chelsea (F.A. Cup)
                            3/19 - Porto (Champions League)
3/23 - New Zealand (Venezuela, Friendly)
                            3/27 - Argentina (Venezuela, Friendly)
                            3/30 - Manchester City

Do you foresee Dagenham getting their act together in these last 3 months are we about to see a meltdown?

                                AD Alcorcon - '21-'22 Season
                                February Update

Copa Del Rey - Semi Finals, 2nd Leg
Villareal CF - AD Alcorcon (0-4, 0-5 agg)
                                Lopez 45' (Farago)
                                Farago 45+' (Lopez)
                                Correa 73' (Imada)
                                Miguel 80' (P)

Recap: Bye Felicia. Villareal put up a fight that lasted about 45 minutes but back-to-back goals before the half all but knocked them out and 2 goals in a 7-minute stretch midway through the second half sealed our return to the cup final! Our opponent? Real Madrid. Coming to your TV this upcoming May!

                                League Match 23
Real Madrid - AD Alcorcon (1-0)
                                Suarez 40'

Recap: There will not be many games with as flawlessly executed defense as the one Real displayed in this one, winning the air game consistently in their box and having an inspired Neuer saving 10 shots on his way to an 8.8 game rating and MOTM honors. Suarez was able to cash in on the only mistake of the game when Courtois tried to get to a ball near the top of the box but was beat to it by the Uruguayan. Tough loss, but a deserved result for Real and Alcorcon remains at the top of the standings.

                                League Match 24
AD Alcorcon - Atletico Madrid (3-2)
                                Lopez 2' (Farago)
                                Musa 26'
                                Farago 42' (Lopez)
                                Knoll 83' (De Sciglio)

                                Manquillo 86'

Recap: We knew Atletico would want to get revenge on the thrashing we gave them last month in the cup and we were able to take their best shot and still beat them. It was a close game throughout though, and we never felt comfortable until Knoll's header in the 83rd but even then when Manquillo made it a one goal game 3 minutes later we sweated this one out till the end.

Champions League - Round of 16, 1st Leg
                                AD Alcorcon - Juventus (3-0)
                                Miguel 55' (Lopez)
                                Farago 80' (P)
                                Knoll 85' (Correa)

Recap: In arguably the most exciting tie in this round (Barca-MCFC, and Inter-PSG are other good ones) this game lived up to his billing. Alcorcon was able to finally go ahead 10 minutes into the second half on a Miguel header off a cross from Correa and the Spanish club held on to their lead until breaking the game open in the last 10 minutes. The comfortable 3-goal lead plus the clean sheet at home puts them in excellent position to push the Italian firepower out of this competition.

                                League Match 25
Levante UD - AD Alcorcon (0-1)
                                Miguel 45+' (Farago)

Recap: Levante was once again a tough matchup for Alcorcon but Farago once again worked his magic to assist Miguel on what would be the game's only goal. If Alcorcon is able to win the league this season it won't matter that they struggled twice against Levante, the only thing that will matter is that they earned 6 points against them.

                                Liga BBVA Standings
                                1. AD Alcorcon - 64pts
                                2. FC Barcelona - 58pts
                                3. Real Madrid - 55pts
                                4. Athletic Bilbao - 51pts
                                5. Atletico Madrid - 46pts
                                6. Valencia CF - 45pts

                                7. Sevilla FC - 41pts
                                8. Villareal CF - 40pts
                                ...
                                18. Levante UD - 18pts
                                19. RCD Mallorca - 17pts
                                20. Granada CF - 14pts

Really with the winning streak no longer a concern the loss to Real Madrid didn't really hurt. Barca and Real just deserve credit for keeping up with us even though we had that amazing 15-game winning streak, and a 6-point lead is nothing to complain about. The first game in March will be a very important rematch against Barca and it'd benefit us to not lose that one though. Meanwhile we achieved a very impressive victory against an always dangerous Juventus squad and we're really happy about that going into the 2nd leg. As far as individual performances Nico Lopez (24 goals) still has a comfortable lead in scoring over Suarez, while Real Madrid's star (7 assists) also has a lot of work to do if he wants to catch up with Farago (14) in that category. Courtois' 10 clean sheets trail only Bilbao's Krul (11) and Real's Neuer (12). In Copa Del Rey Correa and Farago are battling for the scoring title with 6 goals a piece, and unless Real's Jese Rodriguez (3) scores a hat trick or better one of Alcorcon's players will win that honor. Correa, Imada, and Salawu (3 each) trail Nico Lopez (4) in assists in this cup. Finally, Correa is the only one to be a major (statistical) factor in all 3 competitions as he's currently second in assists in the Champions with 4 (Lyon's Benzia has 5).

In academy news there hasn't been much movement. Let's take a look at the youth squad:
                                • Ohi Anthony Reinhardsen (GK, 56-66, 86-94): 15-year old from Norway with outstanding potential and good size at 6'2", 158lbs.
                                • Boubacar Mensah (RW, 58-64 OVR, 81-91 POT): 16-year old from Ivory Coast who after months of evaluation has been tabbed as the prospect with the highest potential (outside GK). Excited for his development.
                                • Jaime Zavaleta (RW, 59-65, 80-90): 16-year old from USA showing excellent speed. He was a lock to be a winger from the get-go so it's now a matter of developing him.
                                • Chola Mayat (CB, 44-52, 76-94): 17-year old from Ivory Coast described as Physically Strong. The hope for a continued line of development at this position will need to improve significantly during the remainder of this season because he's unlikely to remain in the academy until the end of next season, by which time he'll already be 18.
                                • Omar Vindheim (CDM, 48-50, 78-84): 15-year old from Norway described as defensive minded. Stands strong at 6'2", 167lbs.
                                • Shola Sadami (CDM, 39-45, 74-88): 16-year old from Ivory Coast who makes up for less than ideal size with a lot of strength.
                                • Alexander Antonsen (LB, 44-48, 74-82): 17-year old from Norway who will be developed as a CB due to his lack of speed and size of 6'2", 176lbs.
                                • Kristoffer Solheim (CDM, 42-46, 73-81): 16-year old from Norway described as Defensive Minded who currently doesn't project to be much more than a role player.
                                • Julio Gutierrez (LW, 56-60, 73-79): 17-year old from Spain who needs to continue to work on his game in the academy. Will be promoted if he asks to but he'll be nothing but a loan candidate.

                                * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Current roster (* Denotes player graduated from the youth academy):

Comments: With the 2022 World Cup rapidly approaching we went back to our top lineups (2nd squad vs Australia) and were happy to score 3 goals in each game though the concern on defense (which have seemingly been going for decades!) continues. Need to shore that up quickly.

                                Opponents in March:
