He prefers to play out of the back and distribute rather get forward with the attack. He will likely be the future successor to Bergantiños at the base of the midfield diamond.

CB, Julio (61 OVR, 19 yrs old) - Swap deal for Cezary Wilk from Sporting Gijon

A graduate of Sporting Gijon's academy, he was called up to the senior squad in 2013. His appearances have been limited with a lot of growth still left for him. At only 19 years old, his greatest asset is surprisingly his strength. He can battle physically battle almost any of the veterans on the pitch when given the chance.

LB, Xavier Quinti (60 OVR, 18 yrs old) - Swap deal for Laure from Barcelona

A more recent member of the La Masia academy of Barcelona, Quinti is a defender who can play on both the inside and outside of the back line. He has even been used sparingly as a defensive midfielder, but his future there appears unlikely. Whether he will end up as a center back or on the left side with Deportivo will be interesting to see depending on his development.

RW, Keko (65 OVR, 23 yrs old) - Pre-Contract agreement from Albacete

A hometown product of the Atletico Madrid academy, he ultimately only made 1 appearance for the senior team during his time before being sent on a constant stream of loans. He moved to Catania in 2011 before moving to Albacete just a few years later on a short term deal. He has agreed to join Deportivo now next season and they are hoping that this will finally be the right team for him to stay with and realize the potential he was once pegged for.

LM, Jonathan Urretaviscaya (70 OVR, 24 yrs old) - Pre-Contract agreement from Pacos Ferreira

Urreta as he is more commonly known is a Uruguayan player who has been with Benfica since 2008 before moving to another Portugese club Pacos de Ferreira on a short team deal. He will now be joining Deportivo after this season, returning to a club that he spent time on loan with in 2010-2011 making 6 appearances. He is a quick player, with a close dribble, and a strong shot. Depending on the formation used, he will likely factor into the attack in an outside role on the wings.

ST, David Barral (72 OVR, 31 yrs old) - Pre-Contract agreement from Levante UD

David Barral is a striker who spent the early part of his career with Real Madrid, although only making his way up to the B level. He then moved to Sporting Gijon in 2006 where he began making a name for himself with 201 appearances and 48 goals. He ultimately ended up with Levante in 2013, but has reached an agreement with Deportivo to join the club at the beginning of next season. He has an idea combination of speed, size, strength, and technical abilities to be used in any kind of situation with the front line and could become a focal point in a 4-3-3, or partner up in a 2 man front with someone else.

LB, Edu Albacar (72 OVR, 35 yrs old) - Pre-Contract agreement from Elche CF

A true attacking minded full back, Albacar has surprisingly only spent 2 seasons in La Liga despite playing in Spain his entire career. Having moved around a number of Segunda division teams, he settled in at Elche in 2010 helping them achieve promotion for the 2013 season. in his 139 league appearances with the club he has scored an impressive 23 goals. He has a good chance to move to first choice with Deportivo after Canella returns to his parent club Gijon when the season ends.

@Cruzerr I suppose it's sad to see Ibisevic go after doing so well for you this season, but if you look at it this way, he was 30 and wanted to leave so you got good money for him while you could and in turn a young replacement, Drmic, for the future. Boetius was also a nice catch! Always tough to lose by a single penalty. 3 points off Bayern isn't too bad seeing as you didn't set out to win the league.

@Tex Nice transfers! All without paying a transfer fee. You got some young talent but also some experience on pre-contracts. Nicely done and I look forward yo seeing how they all do.

A stormer of a start against QPR! Dybala I thought did really well. It got a bit panicky near the end and if it wasn't for Reid blocking that shot it could have been a different story. United was a good result on paper but not if you had watched the game! You dominated, only 2 shots for them is amazing. If not for Johnny Evans you could have been walking away with a 1-0 victory.

Good morning. How do you feel about your new job?

I feel very good. For the past eight years I have been dreaming about coaching a professional football team and now that dream has come true. I'm really excited and I'm looking forward to our campaign this season. The fact that I know the staff and players helps a lot.

The supporters have big expectations for you. Will the pressure affect you?

Yes, of course it will. There would be something wrong if it didn't but I can live with it and they are right to be worried. I'm young and I don't have a lot of experice but I'm sure I'll prove them wrong. The supporters and the pressure will just motivate me.

What is your target for the first season?

We have agreed with the board that Oxford United should be fighting for the title at the end of the season. We also want to get a good run in the cup.

How about after this season?

After this season we want to reach the Premier League in five years. When that happens we will have a strong team that will fight for a place in the European competitions. Our aim is to challenge for the Champions League trophy in ten years.

You mentioned improving the academy. What does this mean?

It means that we want to have a lot of homegrown talents in the team. We will invest money and make the academy modern, well-working and efficient. We want to have at least a couple players from the youth academy in the squad two seasons from now.

You also mentioned a mainly British policy.

Yes. It means that we will focus on signing mainly English, Northern Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Irish players but we are not banning the option to sign players from other countries. The amount of English players in the two highest leagues is alarming and we will do our best to increase it.

Do you think you will succeed in your ambitious plans?

Yes, I do. I'm sure that our plans will work.

Busy busy! Great work in the transfer window man. Didn't even have to spend a cent! Reminded me of AC Milan (I think?) since they're popular for bagging free transfers. I'm jealous about your Quinti transfer! I offered Barcelona B Loe (72 OVR) and they still wouldn't agree to a player only deal. In the end I had to give them Vujadinovic (67 OVR) plus 1m for them to agree, and you got him for free. FOR FREE!! I'm totally jelly donuts right now. Again though great work in the window. I'd like to see how your older pre-contract agreements are when they arrive next season. I've avoided signing pre-contracts over the age of 32 because I'm afraid that when I get them their overall will have decreased drastically as that's how it was in previous FIFAs. Let me know me how much their overall changed when they arrive next season.

Cruzerr - You are killing it with Stuttgart! I love the move for Drmic, he is honestly an upgrade for you and should be deadly up top, plus he even has a ton of room for growth. That table is crazy in terms of BvB and Schalke struggling so much, but it has really opened the door for you to hopefully snatch a UCL spot.

Tex - Some quality signings for you there, I like the mix of youth and veterans that you are bringing in. It's crazy that you can get some of those older guys on pre-contracts rather than them retiring! Hopefully they will keep their attributes long enough to give you a solid contribution.

Simppu - Congrats on the league title in dominant fashion and also in picking up the cup win! What a heartbreaker to lose the UCL final though in penalties, so you should definitely keep that career in the backups to potentially bring back on play on your own to give your boys the chance to redeem themselves! Feel free to sell me Nainggolan in the meantime!

Agreed, I actually have another update to post now and it's funny how just adding Dybala has really electrified the team. He is just so dynamic, so it really feels like we can bag 3-4 goals a game, though we need to shore up the defense on the other end. Reid has been fantastic, it's funny how I brought it an 82 rated defender on a pre-contract (Nkoulou) and it has resulted in Reid and Tomkins stepping their game up to be arguable better than their higher pedigree teammate.

CA Osasuna 1 - 0 Elche CF
OSA: Palacios 90'
Elche welcomed Osasuna to La Liga with a 3-2 defeat back in August, but this time around the Basques were able to make things even with a last minute win at El Sadar. The match had been back and forth with neither team having an advantage over the other until the very last minute when Guillermo passed the ball to Federico Palacios who dribbled into the right side of the box looking like he would cross the ball, however he faked the cross and cut in, tricking his marker and finding himself wide open for a shot.

The German-Spanish forward took his shot which beat the keeper and put Osasuna in the lead. The referee ended the match soon after which signified Osasuna's third consecutive victory in the league.

CA Osasuna 3 - 0 RCD Espanyol
OSA: Palacios 73' 84' Guillermo 90'
The first time these two teams faced each other Osasuna won with a surprising result of 3-1 against the Catalans who in that time were fighting with Real Madrid for 2nd place. This time Osasuna really made it known that they are the superior team as they properly disposed of an Espanyol without their captain Hector Moreno. Jose Antonio Rodriguez had requested to play this match and Chavez fielded him with the first team, leaving Riesgo on the bench to sit this one out. Even though the scoreline shows a dominant Osasuna, in reality the home team didn't establish their superiority until the second half. The first half was very equal, with Roberto Torres actually missing his first ever penalty shot since Chavez's arrival.

The second half was just as balanced, until the 73rd minute where Palacios joined Guillermo inside the box for a cross and the short forward got his head to it to open the score. Palacios headed the ball the only way he can, putting everything in his jump to get to the ball which forces him to land flat on his back. Nine minutes later, Palacios teamed up with Guillermo to make an incredible play. Palacios cut in from the right side and dribbled down the front edge of the box. He passed the ball to Guillermo who received it with his back towards goal and shielded it, using his strength to fight off his marker. As Guillermo engaged the physical battle, Palacios sprinted from the edge of the box into the left side and shouted for a through pass. Guillermo saw him, and with a spark of flair he stepped on the ball and gave Palacios the perfect pass he was asking for. Palacios sprinted up to the ball and took his shot first time, powering the ball past the goalkeeper who reacted well but the ball just barely went under his arm.

The goal not only showed Osasuna's great form but also the outstanding chemistry Guillermo and Palacios have developed. Guillermo finished Espanyol off at the ninetieth minute with a well placed shot after dribbling into the box. Espanyol had been comfortable in 3rd place for a while now, but this defeat has allowed the rest of the teams to shorten the gap and threaten their Champions League spot.

Real Zaragoza 1 - 0 CA Osasuna (B-Team)
ZAR: Porcar 37'
Osasuna's winning streak has been put to an end by the team deepest in the relegation zone, Real Zaragoza. The B-Team had previously been in amazing form, but they seemed to still be dragging that humiliating defeat against Tottenham. Kenan Kodro was completely neutralized in attack, with hardly any crosses coming into the box from his wingers. One of the players that stood out the most, and not in a good way, was the former Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel. Miquel had a bad match against Tottenham, and had another one today, failing to beat Porcar to a header despite his much taller stature.

CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Getafe CF
The first team were unable to return to their winning ways and were barely able to hold their unbeaten home streak with a no goals draw. Getafe were just as dangerous as Osasuna in front of goal, but the visitors had the biggest chance to get ahead in the second half after Raul Albentosa committed a foul inside the box. Getafe's Moralez, who usually scores on Osasuna, stepped up to take the penalty shot but he hit it wide!

Asier Riesgo, who returned to the starting lineup tonight, dove the right way and it looks like he would have saved it anyway had the shot been on target. Getafe had the upper hand in the final minutes of the match but weren't able to break through Osasuna's defenders or Riesgo, who was given the MOTM award with 7 saves.

INJURY NEWS
Jose Antonio Delgado, "Nono", suffered a Sprained Ankle after coming on as a sub against Getafe, and will be out for 4 Weeks. Will miss the rest of the season.

CA Osasuna Player of The Month

CDM - Sergi Darder (Spain) (73 OVR 22yrs) (+1)
The Spanish midfield arrived from Malaga in August and has had a fairly inconsistent season so far. The lack of a defensive mind in midfield had led to Chavez scouting for naturally defensive midfielders, but Darder looked rejuvenated this month, allowing Camarasa and Cuevas to push forward while he roamed the area in front of his back line. Darder also has a playmaking touch to his game, often getting the plays and counterattacks started. His tackling may not be as good as other natural defenders, but this month his defensive work seems to have improved greatly. Scouting for defensive midfielders has been put on hold for the meantime. Perhaps if Darder finishes the season in this form he'll make the coaching staff think twice about looking for another midfielder.

*Alex Silva Gavan - ? (56-68, 70 - 86): The 16 year old from Spain has yet to decide which position he will settle in and we're still not sure what type of player he is either. With a 6'0" height he should be a good fit pretty much anywhere on the field especially down the center.

*Chris Jamieson IV - GK (56-72, 72-92):
Julian Rubin was the first American to join the academy, but now this 6'7" giant also from the United States has stolen the show as people are excited to see him between the sticks. At 16 years old he's looking like a solid candidate for a call up soon depending on how he shapes up with the U17s.

Eñaut Gabbiadini - CDM (49-59, 67-79) (+14): The Spanish midfielder becomes the 2nd CDM in the academy, although at 15 years old he still has much to develop, including his height which is quite low for a CDM as he stands at 5'3".

*Frost S. Napoles - CM (55-65, 69-81): Technically Gifted has been the term used to describe the 16 year old midfielder from Spain, but we haven't seen enough of him with the U17 to say what his future holds.

Joyce Barber - RM (58-62, 71-75) (+4): By reading his name one might assume the player is from the United Kingdom, but in fact he is a Spaniard. At least, he was born in Spain. Barber is only 5'4" but he has proven to be a playmaker from the wing even at 15 years of age.

Julian Rubin - GK (56-68, 69-85) (+19): Julian becomes the first player from the United States to join the Osasuna youth academy, and if he develops well enough he could even become the first ever American player to wear Osasuna's colors. The 15 year old goalkeeper could make history, but first he must show his class in the youth levels.

Paré Bulhões Vinuesa Ramos - CDM (68-72, 81-87) (+4): The 17 year old from Spain immediately caught Chavez's eye when the youth academy resumed operations last season, and he is now in line for a potential call up to the senior team in the future. Ramos stands at 6'3" and has chosen CDM as his primary position. The player covered several others in the youth team, so he looks to be a very versatile player on the field. The youngster also hasn't chosen which, whether his last name or maiden name, will be printed on his jersey when he does receive the call up...

Roussillon Murnane - ST (57-61, 71-75) (+2): The 5'9" 17-year old from Spain has shown the characteristics of a winger as he tends to drift wide from the center.

Osasuna Find New Top Scorer
For the first time since arriving from Athletic Bilbao last season, Guillermo has lost his place as club top scorer in all competitions. His place has been taken by the loanee Federico Palacios, who has adjusted really well to playing on the right wing and is contributing with goals again. Guillermo was the top scorer for the club and even in La Liga before breaking his elbow which kept him away from the pitch for 2 months. In his absence, Federico Palacios found regular game time which allowed him to make his goal scoring breakthrough. Guillermo's return to the lineup has not been an easy one, as he has slowly been getting back to his goal scoring ways. Instead of having the two strikers compete for the starting spot, Chavez chose to include both in the starting lineup with Guillermo taking back the ST position and placing Palacios at RW. Guillermo has slowly been finding his form, while Palacios also took time to adjust to his new role. No hard feelings have surfaced between the two strikers, and they have developed an incredible understanding with each other, with both players frequently assisting each other's goals or scoring themselves. This partnership has the potential to become one of the deadliest in Spain in the future, especially with players like Torres and Cuevas to supply them with goal scoring opportunities.

Conclusion
Loving the way the team is playing right now. Yes, we lost to Zaragoza and yea we drew with Getafe, but I'm very much liking the way the squad is working especially midfield. Palacios had the instruction to stay forward, cut inside, get in behind, and get into the box for crosses. Very specific. I have removed the instruction to get in behind because that usually meant he would receive the ball while sprinting. He has really improved his game without that instruction, as it is now easier for him to cut inside and partner up with Guillermo since he's not running around the entire time. Having an extra player inside the box has also been great since Guillermo would usually have a double mark during crosses and he doesn't really have an aerial presence standing at 5'11".

That's all for this month. With only four matches played it felt like this was a quick and easy update.

The lack of a defensive mind in midfield had led to Chavez scouting for naturally defensive midfielders, but Darder looked rejuvenated this month, allowing Camarasa and Cuevas to push forward while he roamed the area in front of his back line. Darder also has a playmaking touch to his game, often getting the plays and counterattacks started. His tackling may not be as good as other natural defenders, but this month his defensive work seems to have improved greatly. Scouting for defensive midfielders has been put on hold for the meantime. Perhaps if Darder finishes the season in this form he'll make the coaching staff think twice about looking for another midfielder.

*Alex Silva Gavan - ? (56-68, 70 - 86): The 16 year old from Spain has yet to decide which position he will settle in and we're still not sure what type of player he is either. With a 6'0" height he should be a good fit pretty much anywhere on the field especially down the center.

*Chris Jamieson IV - GK (56-72, 72-92):
Julian Rubin was the first American to join the academy, but now this 6'7" giant also from the United States has stolen the show as people are excited to see him between the sticks. At 16 years old he's looking like a solid candidate for a call up soon depending on how he shapes up with the U17s.

Eñaut Gabbiadini - CDM (49-59, 67-79) (+14): The Spanish midfielder becomes the 2nd CDM in the academy, although at 15 years old he still has much to develop, including his height which is quite low for a CDM as he stands at 5'3".

*Frost S. Napoles - CM (55-65, 69-81): Technically Gifted has been the term used to describe the 16 year old midfielder from Spain, but we haven't seen enough of him with the U17 to say what his future holds.

Joyce Barber - RM (58-62, 71-75) (+4): By reading his name one might assume the player is from the United Kingdom, but in fact he is a Spaniard. At least, he was born in Spain. Barber is only 5'4" but he has proven to be a playmaker from the wing even at 15 years of age.

Julian Rubin - GK (56-68, 69-85) (+19): Julian becomes the first player from the United States to join the Osasuna youth academy, and if he develops well enough he could even become the first ever American player to wear Osasuna's colors. The 15 year old goalkeeper could make history, but first he must show his class in the youth levels.

Paré Bulhões Vinuesa Ramos - CDM (68-72, 81-87) (+4): The 17 year old from Spain immediately caught Chavez's eye when the youth academy resumed operations last season, and he is now in line for a potential call up to the senior team in the future. Ramos stands at 6'3" and has chosen CDM as his primary position. The player covered several others in the youth team, so he looks to be a very versatile player on the field. The youngster also hasn't chosen which, whether his last name or maiden name, will be printed on his jersey when he does receive the call up...

Roussillon Murnane - ST (57-61, 71-75) (+2): The 5'9" 17-year old from Spain has shown the characteristics of a winger as he tends to drift wide from the center.

Osasuna Find New Top Scorer
For the first time since arriving from Athletic Bilbao last season, Guillermo has lost his place as club top scorer in all competitions. His place has been taken by the loanee Federico Palacios, who has adjusted really well to playing on the right wing and is contributing with goals again. Guillermo was the top scorer for the club and even in La Liga before breaking his elbow which kept him away from the pitch for 2 months. In his absence, Federico Palacios found regular game time which allowed him to make his goal scoring breakthrough. Guillermo's return to the lineup has not been an easy one, as he has slowly been getting back to his goal scoring ways. Instead of having the two strikers compete for the starting spot, Chavez chose to include both in the starting lineup with Guillermo taking back the ST position and placing Palacios at RW. Guillermo has slowly been finding his form, while Palacios also took time to adjust to his new role. No hard feelings have surfaced between the two strikers, and they have developed an incredible understanding with each other, with both players frequently assisting each other's goals or scoring themselves. This partnership has the potential to become one of the deadliest in Spain in the future, especially with players like Torres and Cuevas to supply them with goal scoring opportunities.

Conclusion
Loving the way the team is playing right now. Yes, we lost to Zaragoza and yea we drew with Getafe, but I'm very much liking the way the squad is working especially midfield. Palacios had the instruction to stay forward, cut inside, get in behind, and get into the box for crosses. Very specific. I have removed the instruction to get in behind because that usually meant he would receive the ball while sprinting. He has really improved his game without that instruction, as it is now easier for him to cut inside and partner up with Guillermo since he's not running around the entire time. Having an extra player inside the box has also been great since Guillermo would usually have a double mark during crosses and he doesn't really have an aerial presence standing at 5'11".

That's all for this month. With only four matches played it felt like this was a quick and easy update.

I'd like to see how your older pre-contract agreements are when they arrive next season. I've avoided signing pre-contracts over the age of 32 because I'm afraid that when I get them their overall will have decreased drastically as that's how it was in previous FIFAs. Let me know me how much their overall changed when they arrive next season.

Juan Dominguez... Trust me I did NOT want to let him go. In my last Deportivo career he ended up being my Captain, and he is a youth product of Deportivo. BUT, he refused to sign a contract 3 separate times, the last of which his agent flat out said he will NOT sign no matter what. His contract was also expiring at the end of the year. I tried to sell him, but he flat out rejected any offer from other clubs and wouldn't move. So, I had to swap him in order to get something, anything, in return. I started out aiming higher and tried like 8 different players before getting down to Nono. It seems like his expiring contract made him not worth too much in a swap deal.

So basically, Juan Dominguez screwed me. Nono still will be useful going forward though, and it was really swap for him, or watch him go into free agency for nothing in return.

I think it fixes the names and that's it. At least that's what I read. And also it is the 4th patch for next gen and 3rd for last gen.

You know what I haven't checked. I do plan on including it on the end of season update but I haven't been checking on it. I'll make sure to take a look next time I fire it up!

Very unfortunate, but you did the right thing. Hate it when that happens and it feels like it has to happen every season. What I usually do is stretch out my contract offers. I found that if I offered a new contract soon after the rejected one the agent would come in and be a total c***block. If I wait like a few weeks or a month, eventually the player starts thinking twice about leaving and it makes if easier to get a contract offer accepted.

No but I wish there was! I would be happy with even a cup tournament between the US and Mexico alone but nope not even that. Mexican teams get to participate in the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores (Copa LatAm in game) but the MLS gets nothing. It took FIFA a long time to add the Libertadores so I can only imagine how long it will take for them to create a version of the CONCACAF Champions League.
