In theory, yes, Germany and us should both win our groups and not see each other unless it's in the final. But we both know it doesn't always work out the way it's supposed to. So if Germany struggles and I go into the Denmark game seeing 2nd is the best the Germans can do ... would it be in my best interest to win my group?

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

@Rabbit Alcorcon first; Knoll had a great month! Especially the game against Castilla. Devastated to see you go out of the Champions after getting so close again. At least you have a domestic double in reach. Good luck with that. You also got a tricky group in the World Cup, so that'll be interesting.

Dagenham; What a tough way to crash out of the FA Cup. You repaid them with the same scoreline in the Champions so I suppose that tops it! You scraped through the 2nd leg though. Massive win against Real and you are doing well in the league. Now let's hope that Chelsea drop some points! Locadia was in great form. Things are looking good. Is the double on?

@Cruzerr The month started really well but then ended badly at Dortmund and Hannover. You would have only been 1 point off Leverkusen if you had beaten Hannover! The draw against Bayern was a good result and I've no doubt that in a couple of seasons Stuttgart will be a major German and European powerhouse.

@Simp Solid and young signings. Great start to the season also only drawing the one game.

@Tex Sucks to hear about your Academy. At least you weren't further into the career.

      Sorry if I forgot someone!

        January:

        SkyBet Championship Match:

        Wigan Athletic 1 – Exeter City 3

        WIGCyriac (16’)
Chris McCann floats the ball over the defence for Gohi Cyriac to run onto. He’s one-on-one with the keeper and he nudges the ball to the left before hitting it past Glen Mabil and into the bottom left corner.

        WIG –Nicholls (RED) (68’)
The ball is knocked up field by Glen Mabil. The ball goes to Benjamin Feudjou who flicks the ball onto Appiah who then puts a lovely ball through the defence and onto the run of Feudjou. He flicks the ball past the rushing Wigan keeper, Lee Nicholls but is taken out and it’s a penalty and a red card for Nicholls. Ben Watson will have to be in goal for the last section of the match.

        EXE – Sercombe (68’)
Sercombe puts the ball on the very edge of the penalty area to take the free-kick. Liam instantly realises that Ben Watson’s position is a little too central and he smashes the ball into the top right corner which is Watson’s nearest post.

        EXE –Grimes (75’)
Exeter City have all the possession after the red card and Grimes squares the ball into the middle for Reece Brown who holds the ball up. This allows Matthew Grimes to run around the full-back and into the box. Brown passes to Appiah who’s first touch is to lay it off for Grimes in the box who just curls the ball around Ben Watson with his weaker right foot and into the bottom of the far corner.

        EXE –Appiah (82’)
Exeter have finished the game off as Feudjou makes a perfectly lobbed pass over the defence and onto the foot of Reece Brown who sprints forward before rolling the ball into the path of Kwabena Appiah who places the ball into the bottom right corner.

        Our Best Performer: Kwabena Appiah

        F.A Cup Match:

        Exeter City 2 – Coventry City 1

        EXE Feudjou (45’)
Konate dribbles pat two before delivering a ball into the back post where Feudjou volleys it into the near corner.

        EXE – Feudjou (48')
Feudjou intercepts the ball in the midfield and chares towards the box. He gets past the lat defender before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

        COV – Miller (55’)
Shaun Miller gets onto the end of a cross by Jack Finch which floats over Moore-Taylor. Miller nods the ball into the air which lobs the keeper.

        Our Best Performer: Benjamin Feudjou

        SkyBet Championship Match:

        Exeter City 2 – Huddersfield Town 1

        EXE –Konate (28’)
Feudjou manages to slot the ball through the defence for Konate to collect. He sprints towards the keeper and opens up his body to place the ball neatly into the near corner.

        HUD – Vaughan (58’)
Danny Ward sprints down the right wing and squares the ball to Duane Holmes on the edge of the box who then slots the ball past Moore-Taylor and into the path of James Vaughan who beats Mabil at his near post.

        EXE – Ajeti (90+2’)
Three minutes of added time where shown and Exeter decided to try and get the three points. Ribeiro gets the ball on the right and looks to cross into the box. He delivers a tantalising cross which allows Benjamin Feudjou to nip in front of his marker and head the ball towards goal. The keeper makes a great save to stop the ball going past him but the rebound falls straight to substitute, Albian Ajeti who hits the ball first time on the volley to slam the ball into the back of the net.

Fulham have drawn against Sheffield United, allowing Exeter City to go top of the table!

        Our Best Performer: Inters Konate

        Dr Peter Riou (Senior Physiotherapist):
“Liam Sercombe is out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Ankle.” (Will be replaced by Tim Payne)

        Dr Peter Riou (Senior Physiotherapist):
“Inters Konate is out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Knee.” (Will be replaced by Benjamin Feudjou)

        SkyBet Championship Match:

        Brighton & Hove Albion 3 – Exeter City 5

        EXE Feudjou (4’)
Exeter City attack on the break and Appiah picks a great ball through the defence for Benjamin Feudjou to be one-on-one with the keeper. He shoots but the keeper makes a good save and the ball rolls to the left wing where Appiah collects it. He quickly whips it to the back post where Feudjou nods past the out of position goalkeeper.

        BRI –Mabil (OG) (8’)
What a gift. The ball is whipped into the near post from a corner on the right. Ribeiro tries to clear it but it puts Mabil off and he tries to catch it. He fumbles the ball into his own net.

        EXE – Allassani (9’)
It’s not even been ten minutes of the match and there are already three goals! Exeter City get a free-kick around thirty yards out. Benjamin Feudjou stands to the right of the ball, Paris Cowan-Hall is standing in the middle and Reise Allassani is standing to the left of the ball. Allassani runs over the ball and there’s a little wait before Cowan-Hall runs up and slots the ball into a gap for Allassani to run onto and finish into the top left corner of the net. Beautifully worked free kick by Exeter City!

        EXE –Appiah (20’)
Exeter City dominate the possession and the game calms down a little bit. Ribeiro collects the ball on the right and squares it to Cowan-Hall who delivers a low ball into the box for Appiah to spin and shoot, The ball goes along the ground and it neatly nestles into the bottom left corner.

        BRI – Colunga (42’)
A ball is lifted over the defence but Joseph Gomez uses his strength to get in front of Adrian Colunga. Gomez taps the ball down to Glen Mabil who amazingly takes a touch instead of clearing it away. He overcooks the touch and he tries to slide in to kick the ball away but he totally misses it and Adrian Colunga can poke the ball into the net.

        EXE – Feudjou (50’)
Allassani takes a throw in from the left. He gives it to Ruano who chests the ball down before knocking the ball into the box. The cross is deflected and the ball goes high up into the air. Brighton defender, Glen Rea tries to clear the ball away but ends up slicing it into the middle of the area where Benjamin Feudjou is unmarked. He carefully watches the ball go down and he then volleys it low and hard into the bottom right corner to make it four – two to Exeter.

        EXE Feudjou (62’)
Brown gives the ball to Feudjou who does a couple of step-overs to get past the last defender and through on goal. He smashes the ball into the top left corner to make it Feudjou’s third and to make it Exeter’s fifth of the match.
        BRI –Toko (66’)
The ball is kicked back to Glen Mabil who tries to nod the ball to Moore-Taylor but it’s intercepted by Sam Baldock who smacks the upright with a venomous shot. The rebound falls to the head of Toko who heads the ball through the keeper’s hands and into the goal. Glen Mabil has been woeful today.

        Our Best Performer: Benjamin Feudjou

        F.A Cup Match:

        Blackpool 3 – Exeter City 4

        EXE Feudjou (19’)
Allassani bombs down the left wing and delivers a low cross into the middle. The keeper tries to collect it but Benjamin Feudjou slides in and gets ahead of him to poke it into the net.

        BLA Delfouneso (26’)
Ryan Inniss runs out of position to try and press the attacker but a little one-two allows Delfouneso some space. He passes out to the left wing where Yeray Fontás Prat receives it and cuts into the middle to once again give the ball to Delfouneso at the back post who easily finishes.

        EXE – Saiz Alonso (37’)
Appiah receives the ball from a throw in on the left and runs into the box. He taps the ball back to Alonso who takes a touch and sprints between two defenders to be able to unleash a powerful shot with his weaker right foot to bury it into the top left corner. Alonso has made a very impressive debut and looks to have taken a shine to his new central defensive midfield role.

        BLA – Edu Oriol (42’)
Woeful defending as Fontás Prat cuts inside from the left to cross the ball into Edu Oriol who’s marker, Krisztián Tamás, fails to get any touch on the ball (which he really should) and Oriol can just flick the ball with his left foot into the far right corner of the net.

        EXE – Feudjou (48’)
Benjamin has really shone these last couple of months and he’s got another goal to add to his tally. Cowan-Hall whips in a corner from the left and Feudjou gets away from his marker to easily head the ball, without competition, past the diving keeper and into the back of the net.

        EXE – Payne (73’)
Tim Payne puts the ball on the very edge of the penalty area for a free-kick. He takes a big run up and absolutely smashes it into the keeper’s near corner. The keeper gets a big hand to it but the power is just too much. Surely Exeter City are moving into the next round...

        BLA – Edu Oriol (81’)
A bad pass allows Edu Oriol to run towards goal. He skips past two challenges and has a shot. It looks to be going out until Krisztián Tamás sticks his leg out to get the vital touch it needs to nestle into the bottom corner. Edu gets the credit though.

        Our Best Performer: Benjamin Feudjou

Making their Debut: Krisztián Tamás, Adrián Saiz Alonso

I got some good news and some bad news:

Bad news: I accidentally saved over my Betis file

Good news: I have another set of saves on another xbox, and I'll finally be doing a BPL team instead of Northampton due to freezing issues with the file.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Good news: The injury to my Achilles is now healed enough that I don't need crutches!

More good news: I can finally go back to driving myself around instead of relying on public transport, the wife, and a couple of sterling mates.

Bad news: Mate got into a fight at the pub while we were out celebrating my recovery. Had to back him up and ended up with seven stitches on my hand from broken glass.

More bad news: The wife found out about the fight.

@Cruzerr Sad to see that Ibisevic followed through with his transfer request, but you seem to be managing fine without him. You got a fantastic replacement in Drmic, possibly a superior player long-term. Sorry to hear about your leg break. I suffered with a particularly nasty one some years ago. Be sure to listen to your surgeon and physio. Take things nice and slow, be patient even when it looks bleak, and don't push your body until it's absolutely ready to get back to normal.

@Tex Some very good signings at Depor, especially Urreta and Keko. Albacete are actually owned by Andres Iniesta, in case you didn't know. That's a pretty nice connection. But then the academy goes and acts like a tw*t on you. Hope that's sorted out soon. Best of luck in that!

@Moose I expect big things from you and Dybala in the coming season. It's really exciting to see how your team is really coming together. Next term will be a big, defining moment for this squad. That said, the FA are absolutely bonkers. Don't they know they're supposed to screw Chelsea over, not help them?

@Simppu Congrats on making the leap into League Two. I hope to see wonderful things from you considering the great examples we have on this thread! No pressure, lad!

@Chico Into the European spots as I knew you would be. Things are set up for a fantastic finish to the season. I can't wait to see how things end and how you approach the summer market.

@Rabbit Yeah, I figured scorers need to be added. But only from next season. You're just going to have to deal with that, b*tch. Nice job with Alcorcon and Dagenham both. With the former, you look ready to complete a fantastic season with glittering silverware. With the latter, you have really bounced back from a disastrous start, and to think you might win the league with some luck! (BTW I told you Juve stood no chance.)

Okay, fools. Gather 'round and listen what Uncle Indi's been up to so far.

                  November 2016

We started out with a trip to Cardiff, winning 2-1 thanks to Gary Mackay-Steven and Stevie May. The home against Leicester was a 5-2 battering with goals from Fabian Delph and Mackay-Steven, plus a May hat-trick that included a fantastic goal from the edge of the box. Chelsea held us to a 1-1 draw at their place, with May and Edinson Cavani both scoring inside 10 minutes. We battered QPR at home 3-1 as Mackay-Steven, May and Caolan Lavery all picked up goals following two of their boys being sent off. We wrapped the month up with an entertaining but disappointing 4-3 home loss to Spurs in the quarter-final of the Capital One Cup. We ended the month as league leaders (35) ahead of Spurs (34) and Chelsea (33).

                  December 2016

We had to deal with a new contract for none other than our club captain Josh Meekings. We brought him to £60,000 per week to make him our best-paid player. He rewarded us with a sh*t performance at Everton, which we drew 2-2 after the skipper's injury-time pass to Keiren Westwood was intercepted by Romelu Lukaku. We beat Hull 3-2 at home thanks to a couple of own goals and a lovely chip from Jamie Paterson. In the 3-0 away win at Southampton, Mackay-Steven scored twice and set up May for a comprehensive result. Liverpool beat us 3-1 at their place with Emre Can scoring a lovely hat-trick. We managed a narrow 1-0 at home against Manchester United thanks to Stevie May, and we ended the month in third but with a game in hand.

                  January 2017

We travelled to Stoke for a 2-0 win thanks to May and Tom Ince, but we lost Mackay-Steven to a knee injury for three weeks. I moved Ince to the CAM role and brought Mitchell Weiser to the first team at wide right. Arsenal beat us 2-1 at our place after bringing on Gonzalo Higuain for a couple of late goals, and we beat Brentford 3-2 at home in the third round of the FA Cup. We got past Leicester with a 2-0 away win in which Delph scored a stunner and provided the assist for May's tap-in, but we lost Declan John for six weeks due to a hip flexor strain. Cardiff went down 2-0 at home, but we crashed out of the FA Cup in the fourth round away at Middlesbrough. In the market, we offloaded Alex Smithies to West Ham for £1m and Rhys McCabe to Blackburn for £500k. We brought in Todd Kane from Chelsea (£500k) and Fraser Forster from Southampton (£3.7m). In addition, we signed a promising defender from the Bundesliga on a pre-contract agreement. Who is it? All will be revealed in the summer update. We finished the month in third, level on points with both Spurs and Chelsea.

                  February 2017

West Brom beat us 2-1 despite Stevie May scoring his 20th league goal, but we bounced back with a huge 4-1 win at Spurs. Mackay-Steven returned for his first start since being injured, scoring one before setting up Paterson and both of Ince's goal for a perfect 10 match rating. We salvaged a late point at Old Trafford with Delph's tap-in after May's penalty was cancelled out by goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini. We beat Sunderland 2-1 at their ground with Jordan Obita picking up a rare goal and crossing in for Mackay-Steven to poke home the winner. After losing ground to Spurs, we finish the month level with Chelsea (61) and three points clear of the boys in North London.

                  March 2017

The first game was a poor 3-0 loss at home to Manchester City, Yaya Toure and Karim Benzema (2) amongst the goals. We came back to beat West Ham 2-0 away with Obita and Lavery picking up goals, but Gael Bigirimana was sent off in his 20th appearance of the season for a rash tackle on James Tomkins. We fought for a 1-0 win at home against Swansea, with Caolan Lavery again scoring a very late goal to secure a favourable result. We finish the month on 67 points, four behind league leaders Chelsea (71) and five ahead of Spurs (62). Manchester United (61), Liverpool (59 with a game in hand), and Manchester City (55) wrap up the top six. Arsenal sit in a dismal eighth, having lost 11 games and drawn six while scoring only 32 goals. Stoke, Hull and Leicester make up the relegation trio, but Stoke have a game in hand over 17th-placed Sunderland and have won their last three without conceding a goal.

                  Run-In

April holds Liverpool (H), Hull (A), QPR (A), Chelsea (H) and Aston Villa (A). If we can pick up wins against the three weaker sides, we'll set ourselves up nicely for May. A win against Chelsea will additionally give us impetus to compete for the title. We don't travel in May, with home matches against Newcastle, Southampton and Everton wrapping up our season. Everton will give us the biggest task, though Newcastle have made some good moves in the January window and might have a surprise or two. Southampton should be straightforward, especially as they're now without Jores Okore (ACL), Jay Rodriguez (hamstring), Dusan Tadic (knee) and Nathaniel Clyne (tibia) until next term.

With eight games to go, getting some silverware in doesn't look so easy. No cups will be coming our way, and we don't compete in Europe, so the only option is the league. However, Chelsea are on a roll. After a slow start, they have gone unbeaten since October and are now top of the table with a healthy lead. However, if we can keep winning our games (including the home fixture against Chelsea themselves in April), we might have an outside shot. Lose too many and we risk not only the title, but our lead over Spurs and United as well. After sitting in the top three for so long, it would be a shame to have to play a two-legged tie to make the Champions League. We will try to win the league, but a top-three finish is the primary goal at this time.

The hotel has wi-fi, good. I don't have time to comment on the updates right now but I'll do that probably on Tuesday. Things are looking good, though.

By the way, do you guys remember Salomon Kalou, the ex-Chelsea striker who plays for Hertha. A funny thing happened in the Berlin centre and I have a new "wallpaper" on my phone now. Also, Hertha drew with Schaiße 04 because of Matip's last-minute equaliser. Damn it.

@indiblue man that is something hopefully the hand will heal soon.

@cruzerr man be careful with the broken leg.

Dagenham is battling it out all the way to the end. With two matches left we sit in first in Champions league. It will be a fight though as Ashley Chambers and Zavon Hines are both done for the season. We also eliminated AC Milan in semis Euro league. We will play Zenit in the final. Can't wait to see who will graduate from youth academy.

I would monitor what is going on with that other group. And make your decision off of what happens
