A much better month! A hammering of Elche and then a good, tight win over Bilbao in the cup. Good win over Villarreal also! 11th is much better than being 1 above the relegation zone so props on turning it around. Some nice pieces in your Academy also.

Tight win in the derby followed by hammerings to win the league. Nicely done. 15 points was a massive margin. Absolutely smashed Fiorentina to claim the double! Unfortunate that you couldn't get the treble and only losing on penalties is even worse. Next year! (If you decide to stay on that is.) Choupo-Moting was a beast this season! 31 goals in the league. Bloody hell. What Ovr is he?

Big Benteke scored in his debut, yay! Also, Centurion with the hat-trick against Bayern is huge! And congrats on winning the cup! A pretty interesting post, had everything in it!
I'm glad you like them! I'm hoping Benteke can do as well too which I'm sure he will do. Thanks! Really happy that he scored on his debut and Centurion has been tearing up the right flank recently.

Wales has been a force in World Cup qualifiers with a few matches left. Bale went down for two months with a broken toe. But fortunately for us that was in November and our next matches are in March.

Is it me or what but the May boost has not been as impactful on xbox1 as on 360. Have five star scouts and 70-90 potential players. Some players have been on my team for a season and a half get playing time and still have not grown one point a CAM player for me.
Congrats on getting through the group and also battling for Champions League football. Nice going with Wales. Bale must be fun to use! I don't know what to say about the Youth Players. Hopefully someone else can help.

Good start then a slip up at home to Mainz. Bounced back well though before an unexpected cup exit. Well I guess you can focus on the league now where you are doing really well being top. Looking forward to the January update.

Some high scoring games against Elche and Celta Vigo. Bifouma's been really potent in front of goal for you. You've got some future stars in the pipeline. Sitting 4th is also very good. What season is it again?

        HAPPY 1000 GENTS!!

We made it! Personally I'd like to thank my girlfriend, (awwwww how cheesy!), who puts up with my FIFA-addicted a**. However the real heroes here are all of you guys. Every last one of you. The thread has come a long way, many people have come and gone, but it's never changed us. We continue to be the same friendly, competitive bunch and we all push each other to be better. I know I wouldn't play FIFA with the same motivation if it weren't for you guys. I know I've mentioned it before, but one of the matches that I've always kept in my memory as a great example of this was the first time I faced MK Dons in my Wimbledon career. After all the writing and build up going into it I knew I couldn't lose that match. If I were playing alone and I lost that match, I would have probably been like "oh well, get them next time." But knowing that I would have to come in here and write about how MK belittled my team and our rivalry by defeating me, I just couldn't do that. My heart was pounding the entire time. I had to establish the Wimbledon name.

Another example is the recent match against Tottenham with Osasuna. Being a cup match there's already pressure involved, but it doesn't compare to the pressure this forum brings. The whole time while I'm getting humiliated by Spurs instead of thinking about getting eliminated from Europe I'm thinking "Man, how am I gonna explain this one to the guys. Especially Cruzerr! Damn it!"

This forum has really enhanced my FIFA experience, and as Sportsfreak said we may have our rivalries but they are all strictly sports rivalries. We are all strangers really. I don't even know what you guys look like. If I were to walk past any of you on the street I wouldn't be able to recognize you at all. What's amazing about this thread though is that we don't feel like strangers to each other. I know I would sit down and have a beer with any and all of you if I could!

Let's keep it going gentlemen. Only 1000 more to go for 2000!

Right now it's looking like I'll be moving to England but everything can happen in the poll. Yeah, Choupo-Moting was just unreal. He is 80 ovr but he feels like he's about 90.

I wasn't sure so I chose the League 2 and the French one (As there isn't one here!) I bet Chuopo is great to use. What his primary asset? Or is he great across the board?

He is very good at everything that has something to do with attacking but his best qualities are his dribbling, speed and finishing. He is pretty strong, too and that helps when attacking.

He isn't the best in the air but he is pretty tall and he has good heading which makes him alright. He will score some headers.

                        7' Kruse (PEN)

The only game of January was on the last day of the month, as we faced Gladbach at home. At that point, Ibisevic was already there and both Böetius and Drmic were going to make their debut against them. Sadly, things started off badly.

Rüdiger took down Kruse in the box early and gave them a penalty, which Kruse managed to put away with ease. Being down early did not do good for us, as we never managed to get our momentum after that and be dangerous while attacking. The team looked a bit off - couldn't tell if it was the early goal, the break or the new players not fitting in. Borussia didn't attack after the goal that much, their chances were rather poor.

However, they did earn another penalty at the end of the game, and this time, it was Ibisevic who took it. It was going to be a painful one if he would score it, but luckily, Ulreich saved it and kept the score 1-0. Unfortunately, that was the final score aswell.

                        Transfer Talk

So, I figured that one game isn't enough to name anybody the best player of the month, so I would rather talk about transfers here and how things shaped out.

On the first of January I got a message saying that Ibisevic wants to leave and the board has made their decision to let him go. Of course, it was a massive blow for me and for the whole team, since that meant that I had to look for a new striker, who might not be as impactful as Vedad has been so far. This whole time he was homesick and he forced is way out, but he didn't get closer to home that much, as he is now a part of Borussia M'Gladbach.

The deal itself shocked me. First, the money for him, 14.5 million, isn't bad at all. But joining a team in the same league, while screaming he is homesick? I don't know. Eh, so he was gone, luckily, I had time to look for a new striker.

Now, I was looking at a lot of different strikers and didn't exactly know who to bring in. I was thinking of bringing in Papiss Cisse from Newcastle, since Locadia had joined the team and Cisse was unhappy. However, he did not want to leave, since he wanted to stay in England. Go figure.

Then, I found Josip Drmic. Not the greatest player, obviously, yet he is young and very talented. He had only gotten a few games to play and he hadn't scored; he wanted out of Bayer. Now I knew that we had to pay quite a bit for him, so with the money we got from selling Ibisevic, I went ahead and got Drmic. This is more thinking towards the future than the present. It might cost us the league, but my goal wasn't to win the league this season - that is too difficult anyway against Bayern. Drmic will hopefully be a great fit for us.

Now, I had a bit of cash over, and I had no plan on signing anybody. I was casually looking for players and saw Böetius. I know that we have a few wingers, but I figured that if I could get him for cheap, then I will take him. Feyernoord accepted a 5 mil. bid, which was fantastic for me.

Then, at the last day, I got an offer for Haggui. Basically, he was unhappy because he wasn't getting that many minutes over here, so I figured that we might aswell sell him for cheap. We have plenty of CBs in the team, so I figured that we will be just fine without him.

About the loan deals, I think they are pretty self-explaining. I wanted youngsters to get more minutes somewhere else, nothing else to it.

                        League Table

                        My Thoughts

The game itself wasn't too good, I know. It gave Bayern more room in the league and didn't make us look any good. However, I am happy that Ibisevic didn't score against us, that would have been painful.

Next month features big games against Bayern, Dortmund and Hoffenheim, so hopefully we can see how the new signings fit in and how we can do in the league. I still want to secure a good spot so we would be in either Europa or Champions League. If we could fight for the title, that would be awesome.

I hope you enjoyed the post, please, leave any kind of feedback if you have any!

Yeah, that would have been a perfect welcome to the club for Dybala, but to be fair to him he did play really well. He is a tireless runner and is constantly probing the defense's back line, so I think he should be an absolute terror. Agreed on United, it was one of those pre match results you'd take but after the game felt hard done by without getting the win.

It feels like we know each other well and we support each other. There is no (serious, non-banter) fighting here and everyone is very friendly. Anyway, since then many things have happened: the name of the thread has been changed, the amount of pages has been changed for a small amount of time, a few guys have fought about teams and we have dreamed about reaching this magical number. During all those times people have joined the thread and left the thread but six guys have always stayed: Chico, Indi, Jamie, Moose, Tex and Rabbit. the Golden Oldies. Without Chico's wonderful journey with Wimbledon, Indi's amazing write-ups, Jamie's Liverpool and Newcastle careers, Moose's West Ham videos, Tex's well done Deportivo and so on careers and Rabbit's Alcorcon journey this thread would be something much, much different and less enjoyable. Thank you for staying here.
Simp, thanks for the shoutout. Yeah, it's funny how we've all progressed from the FIFA's of yore to now, with the evolution in updating and still continual fun that we keep having. Hopefully we continue for as many more pages as we can!

Man, transfer window with a top league team that has only 420K is quite the experience, especially when I have my own rule that I can't spend more than I bring in. Still, my transfer window update will be one of my biggest yet in terms of number of players brought in. This season through both transfer windows I have brought in 8 players for a total of €0. A combination of pre-contract agreements, Valeron who's value was €0 and was a free transfer, and 3 player swaps for players using my own who were unhappy, 2 of which declared their intention to leave the club.

Congrats on the 1k mark, everyone! I've seen this forum go from dull and simple to lively and entertaining. Not trying to toot my own horn, but when I started posting more intricate updates, I was hoping things would pick up. And everyone who has been part of this forum since then has contributed to making this the best FIFA career thread on the web. It's been a real pleasure getting to know you c*nts.

I toyed around with Depor before I eventually settled on Wednesday. One thing I realised is that by terminating all the loan deals at the start, you could pull up a budget of about £5 million with £70k in wages. That would let you bring in a number of future stars to develop while just managing to stay in the division.

You know what, Moose? I'm pretty sure you've been here since before any of us showed up. Still recall your West Ham career on FIFA 13 when I first started posting. Man, you have become so much better at signings since then!

Not a bad idea, but I'm past where I could use that anymore haha. Still, I'm actually enjoying it. Building a team is going to take longer now, which is kind of what I am looking for with this career mode.
