Deportivo La Coruña
FIFA 15 - Season 1
Blanquiazules’
December 2014
Copa Del Rey Round of 32 Leg 1
RC Deportivo 0 - Athletic Bilbao 1
ATH - Iturraspe 60'
MOTM: Fabricio
Deportivo were absolutely dominated by Bilbao all evening recording only 2 shots and being out-possessed 60/40. Bilbao finally got the goal that looked destined all night when Iturraspe beat Insua to the ball on the right side of the goal and finished it first time to the far post.
RC Deportivo 1 - Malaga CF 1
DEP - Cavaleiro 17'
MAL - Portillo 45'
MOTM: Lux
Cavaleiro forced a bad pass back by the defender and took the ball away right in front of goal for the easy finish to give Deportivo the lead. Just before the half Amrabat send a cross in from the right wing and Portillo got between Valeron and Lopo to head it into the top right corner for the equalizer.
RC Deportivo 5 - Elche CF 1
DEP - Perez 52', 84', 88', Cavaleiro 57', 90'
ELC - Herrera 60'
MOTM: Perez
Cavalier got the ball on the left side of the goal and immediately played it into the middle for Perez to run in and tap it home. Cavaleiro then added one of his own after beating the defense with his pace down the right side of the goal and hitting it back across to the bottom left corner. Elche pulled one back after Herrera's first shot was deflected and fell back to him to finish the second attempt. Fariña got free down the left wing on a counter and drew the keeper out before laying it off to Perez for the finish. Cavaleiro then replicated almost the exact same play down the left wing playing it to Perez in the middle for another finish past the keeper. This time it was Perez getting free down the left wing and he played it to Juan Dominguez at the top of the box who quickly pushed it ahead to Cavaleiro on the right side of the goal for a tap in.
Copa Del Rey Round of 32 Leg 2
Athletic Bilbao 2 (3) - RC Deportivo 3 (3)
ATH - De Marcos 16', Susaeta 47'
DEP - Fariña 19', Medunjanin 49' (Pen), Perez 68'
MOTM: Fabricio
Athletic scored first when De Marcos got the ball unmarked right in the middle of the box and placed it to the left side of the goal. Deportivo found an answer quickly when Valeron sent a corner into the box that found Fariña's head and ended up in the back of the net. Susaeta put Athletic up once again with a superb curling effort from the left side of the box into the top right corner of the goal. Cavaleiro went on the attack right away and was brought down inside the box giving Medunjanin the opportunity to convert from the penalty spot into the top left corner. Fariña played a big ball over the top to Cavaleiro running down the right side who attacked the goal and played it across the goal at the last second for Perez to tap in for the winner.
Villarreal CF 0 - RC Deportivo 1
DEP - Medunjanin 15'
MOTM: Lux
After winning a corner, Perez sent the ball into the box as Medunjanin was able to hold off his defender and rise up to win the ball with a well placed header that went just over the goal keeper's hands and into the net for the only goal of the match. Lux on the the other end put up with a constant barrage on his goal as Villarreal recorded 19 shots, 9 of which were on target.
League Table
Abegondo Academy
Adrian Alvarez (Spain) - 16 years old, 36-44 OVR 69-85 POT, RB, Winger
Mario Diaz (Spain) - 16 years old, 37-41 OVR 71-79 POT, LM/CM, Defensive Minded
Sebastian Torres (Spain) - 15 years old, 41-49 OVR 70-82 POT, LM/CM/LB, Defensive Minded
Victor Manuel (Argentina) - 17 years old, 49-61 OVR 69-85 POT, RW/LM/RM/LB/RB, Winger
Deportivo La Coruña Player of the Month
Ivan Cavaleiro
Ivan Cavaleiro was outstanding this month scoring 3 goals, recording 4 assists, and drawing a penalty that was converted by Medunjanin as well. His contributions this month were a saving grace after the poor offensive form from last month for the team.
Manager Comments
Academy Update - The 4 players have started to establish themselves with the youth teams and where they will play on the pitch is becoming clearer. Adrian Alvarez has found his place on the right side of the defense, but still has an attacking mentality. Mario Diaz's future is in the midfield, and he will bring toughness and a defensive presence to the club's midfield. Sebastian Torres is another defensive prospect although his future could either be as a midfielder or on the left side of the defense. Victor Manuel is the one prospect who still remains a question mark in terms of position and could play almost anywhere on the outside of the pitch.
Improved Form - After a nightmare 2 month run, the form has improved exponentially. The attack had a resurgence led by Cavaleiro and Perez up front. After finishing last month just 1 spot out of the relegation zone, moving up to 11th is a welcomed relief. We have to continue this form and avoid falling into a run that will drop us down the table again. This club is much better than a relegation candidate, and I refuse to allow us to be in that discussion.
Copa Del Rey - An exciting two legs against Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey has put us through to the last 16. After losing the first leg, we were able to win an exciting second leg 3-2. This came right in the middle of our improved run of form and it couldn't have worked out any better. The confidence going forward will be important, and we need to continue to win in order to take home some much needed prize money.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Hellas Verona
May 2017
Hellas Verona 2 - 1 Chievo Verona
Ayhan 79', Embolo 90'
Pellomo 15'
In the second Verona derby of the season the pressure was on the home side. They needed a draw to secure the league title and things weren't looking good when Pellomo scored with a header only 15 minutes into the game. Hellas Verona then took control of the game but they couldn't find the back of the net until the 79th minute when the captain Kaan Ayhan equalised with a free kick. Chievo parked the bus after the goal but the Gialloblu put a lot of pressure on their defence. At the end Breel Embolo managed to score the winner in stoppage time which means that Hellas Verona have succeeded in defending the title!
Hellas Verona 5 - 1 Atalanta
Choupo-Moting 23', 31', 71', 90', Zaza 64'
Marilungo 13'
The only reason to play this game was that Eric Choupo-Moting wanted to reach thirty league goals. He had to score six goals in the two remaining games to succeed in that. It seemed like almost impossible but Choupo-Moting showed that he is on the same level as Messi and Ronaldo in the game against Atalanta. He was in top form and he managed to score four goals which put him one goal away from the magical thirty.
Hellas Verona 4 - 2 Genoa
Florenzi 26', Choupo-Moting 45', 68', 81'
Krajnc 6', Cofie 63'
The last league game of the season. The last chance for Choupo-Moting to score thirty goals. The game started off like every game game of the month: by Verona conceeding early. Luckily twenty minutes later Florenzi equalised from a rebound. After that right before stoppage time Eric Choupo-Moting got the lead and got closer to the thirty goal mark. Genoa's Cofie equalised after the hour mark but that didn't stop Verona. Only five minutes later the ball was passed to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who got in the box, took a shot and it went in! The 30th league goal was scored! Ten minutes later he went ahead and completed his hattrick. In the last fifteen minutes Corleone made a very interesting substitution: he took of Marquinhos and put on Rafael Marquez who was playing his last ever league game. The Mexican received the captain's armband from Ayhan and lead his team to receive to Serie A trophy after the final whistle. Hellas Verona are the champions!
Final
Hellas VeronaSpoiler3 - 0
SpoilerChoupo-Moting 18', 74', Florenzi 30'
The final of the Coppa Italia -or TIM Cup- was here. Rome's Olympic Stadium was full of fans of both teams. Hellas Verona had reached their first cup final since 1984 and they were the favourites. It was kick off time.
Hellas Verona started the game with a lot of pressure in attack. They passed the ball around, looking for space. Before the twenty-minute mark Eric Choupo-Moting received the ball on the right side of the box. He took a shot but the keeper parried the ball. Choupo-Moting then shot again and the ball went in thanks to a deflection. Verona had taken the lead! They continued in control and twelve minutes later Alessandro Florenzi doubled the lead with a curling shot. In the next forty minutes there wasn't much happening but in the 74th minute Choupo-Moting got a brace from a counter attack. Once again Corleone let Rafael Marquez come on from the bench to lift the trophy. Hellas Verona had secured the domestic double!

Final
Bayern München - Hellas Verona
UEFA Champions League. The most prestigious club competition on the planet. The best club competition on the planet. Two teams, one dream, one night. Wembley Stadium was hosting it's second Champions League final in four years. The atmosphere was amazing. Could this be the moment when Hellas Verona become the best in Europe?
Bayern kicked off the game and they started a dangerous attack straight away. Robert Lewandowski ran towards the goal before playing Mario Götze through. The young German had a shot from outside the box which flew into the top left corner. There was nothing Perin in goal could've done. Verona went on the attack and ten minutes later Eric Choupo-Moting found the back of the net with a finess shot. 1-1. The game slowed down after that and it took fifty minutes before another goal was scored. Dennis Praet scored from a counter attack and Verona were in the lead! Bayern started attacking a lot and they got a corner in stoppage time. The ball was crossed straight at Mattia Perin but the keeper DIDN'T CATCH IT AND PATRICK WEICHRAUCH F*CKING EQUALISED. The game went to extra time and ten minutes into the first half Verona got a penalty. The captain Rafael Marquez, who was playing his last professional game of football, stepped to take it. He shot the ball at the top left corner and it went in! Verona were in the lead again! Bayern switched back to attacking and in the 113th minute Thomas Müller had a shot which was parried. Rafael Marquez tried to clear it but it HIT ARJEN ROBBEN IN HIS HEAD and the Dutch winger tapped it in. Neither team did anything in the remaining seven minutes and it was penalty time.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Reply time. Stuttgart post coming today, and probably going to be both December aaaaand January!
Starting from page 992:
@Tex - With St Pauli, you didn't drop a point in November. You even won your friendlies! Top of the league and the CL group. Nice to see Werner being the MOTM.
Deportivo in September: You did alright against other teams, but that win against Real is shocking. How, is my question. Well done!
Deportivo in October: Your performances are up and down, beating Valencia is great but then the other games do not go your way.
Deportivo in November: That is a TOUGH month, wow. I mean, nobody expected you to do too well, but this is very tough. I hope you can bounce back and hopefully you can do well in the cup. ALSO THAT IS NOT A PEN!
Deportivo in December: You did fantastic against Bilbao, if you consider their position in the league! Well done! Comparing to November, this month actually went a whole lot better. Hopefully your next opponent in the cup will be somebody you can play against.
@Indiblue - Good performance in August, I gotta say, I like the writeups in the end. Also, I feel Benteke always goes to City, unless it is Keanos career mode (Be patient Keano, I will get there.)
September: You beat all the teams, and sadly Arsenal aswell. Atleast you smashed Tottenham, that makes up for it.
In October, you beat Arsenal again, which is....yeah...ok.... To be fair, losing to City is not bad at all, well done. Also, loving the amount of detail you are putting in the thoughts, well done.
@Simp - You are...a unique manager. I read everybodys write ups and they are quite different, since everybody have their own point of views and ideas on how to play. But you, my dear sir, you are mental. I love it. You killed it in February, I mean, the game against Inter sounds bad but otherwise, you are doing well.
March: In the cup final, congrats! You also are killing in the CL and you are way too far ahead in the league.
April: You are in the CL finals, congrats! The Treble dream is real, I hope you can pull it off. I have not much to say about the league, you are doing fantastic.
May: So close, but no cigar. You almost had the treble. I guess the penalties must be tough to swallow, it is the worst way to lose, knowing from experience. I hope you stay with Verona!
@Chico - March: You done messed up, never am I ever reading your posts again! Nah, joking man! You have done well in the Europa league and sadly, Tottenham are a tough team to play against. And it was your B team aswell! In the league, you did great, beating Atletico and Valladolid. I hope you keep it up!
@vrabbit - You have a ton of updates, so lets do this. Alcorcon in December/January: That Barca game seems that it was very fun to play, sad that the streak had to end. Rest of the teams had a struggle against you, maybe Valencia could have beat you, but it seems that Barca knows exactly how you play. Still top of the league, keep going strong!
Dagenham in February: That Stoke game, wow! You really look like a goal factory at times. I hope you really get to the forth spot, it seems really close.
Dagenham in March: Getting close in CL, but luckily, you still went on. I really want to see how you do against Chelsea in the upcoming games. Also, you captured the 4th spot, great going, keep it up!
Alcorcon in February: Glad to see the loss to Real didn't affect things to badly, you are destroying it, same with Argentina aswell. Just a fantastic squad you have in your hands.
@Keano16 - All of your signings are great, I actually like them a lot. Those players are fantastic, honestly. I hope Benteke does as well as Bony did for you! Also, your games went very well!
Big Benteke scored in his debut, yay! Also, Centurion with the hat-trick against Bayern is huge! And congrats on winning the cup! A pretty interesting post, had everything in it!
@Jagger - Those signings are actually really something, I don't know how to feel about them since I personally haven't played with any of those guys. I know you did not make them. Looking forward to seeing how you do!
@10cabee - That game against Huddersfield is a bit surprising, but I have those aswell, where it seems you can't beat the keeper in any way. I hope you can take the top spot, good luck!
Also, now saw the transfer photo you made, it is really good. Some interesting moves you have there, is Fabiano Dai the real deal?
@sportsfreak - You are doing fantastic, my god. Even with Bolivia, there is nobody that can stop you. Beating both Barca and Real, well done!
@Moose141 - That game against QPR was destruction, I was hoping Dybala would score but it didn't happen. Your counter attacking force looks unstoppable. The game against Manu didn't give you the result you needed, but ey, hopefully you can get infront of them!
-----
To all of you: I am jelly, I wish I could update as often as some of you do. :/Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Dagenham update we are January 2017 and are in a five way battle for the top of Champions League. It has been a brutal stretch for us losing the last two matches. Next we have Blackburn in a FA Cup battle. We advanced out of the group stage in the Euro League and face Ajax in February.
Wales has been a force in World Cup qualifiers with a few matches left. Bale went down for two months with a broken toe. But fortunately for us that was in November and our next matches are in March.
Is it me or what but the May boost has not been as impactful on xbox1 as on 360. Have five star scouts and 70-90 potential players. Some players have been on my team for a season and a half get playing time and still have not grown one point a CAM player for me.Currently playing: (In order of Most Time)

One Thousand!!!
One thousand!!! We have done it!
I would like to thank my mother and my father, as well as my uncle, aunt and other relatives. I would also like to thank my pet hamster that I've never had and everyone who makes the society work, excluding politicians because I don't like them.
Oh, I almost forgot. You are the reason why we made it this far. You are the reason that always keeps me updating and posting. You are the reason why a year since joining this thread I'm still posting here. Without you I wouldn't be typing this. Without you I wouldn't have posted my careers here. Without you I wouldn't have visited this thread every day when I could for the last about 900 pages. Thank you.
I remember well me joining this thread and when everyone was a complete stranger. To be honest we are still strangers to each other but it doesn't feel like that. It feels like we know each other well and we support each other. There is no (serious, non-banter) fighting here and everyone is very friendly. Anyway, since then many things have happened: the name of the thread has been changed, the amount of pages has been changed for a small amount of time, a few guys have fought about teams and we have dreamed about reaching this magical number. During all those times people have joined the thread and left the thread but six guys have always stayed: Chico, Indi, Jamie, Moose, Tex and Rabbit. the Golden Oldies. Without Chico's wonderful journey with Wimbledon, Indi's amazing write-ups, Jamie's Liverpool and Newcastle careers, Moose's West Ham videos, Tex's well done Deportivo and so on careers and Rabbit's Alcorcon journey this thread would be something much, much different and less enjoyable. Thank you for staying here.
Then there are the newer users like Keano, Cruzerr, Cabee and everyone else. They haven't spent as much time here but they are as important as anyone else. Keano's images, Cruzerr's writing style and My Player and Cabee's in-depth match reports are also important to this thread. There should always be improvements going on and everyone who joins this thread improves it. Thank you for joining this thread.
I will stop before this turns into a novel. Once again, thanks to everyone who contibutes to this thread with awesome updates and nice chatting. Here's for 1000 more!
Sorry Jamie-Simppu12-

Matchday 14
FC Schalke 04 1-2 VfB Stuttgart
67' Ibisevic (Herrmann)
77' Ibisevic (Herrmann)
86' Choupo-Moting
The first game of December was against Schalke, a team struggling but not far from the top, so we knew if we gave them a chance, they would still beat us. The first half was rather dull, neither team had shots and the players were busy battling for the ball in the midfield. I was hoping that second half was going to be more interesting, and it was.
We were moving the ball a lot better and it finally paid off, as a great cross into the box by Herrmann was finished by Herrmann. The lead was ours, and we doubled it, as we hit them on a counter, only this time, Herrmann passed it to the edge of the box, where Ibisevic took a good touch and smashed in another one.
I felt that the game was comfortably in our hands, yet when Ulreich made a mistake from kick-off and passed it to Choupo-Moting, he smashed it in and gave one back. Yet, we luckily held on to the lead and got the 3 points!
MOTM: Patrick Herrmann
Bundesliga
Matchday 15
VfB Stuttgart 0-1 1. FSV Mainz 05
78' Okazaki
After the great win against Schalke, we went against Mainz. I fielded almost the same squad, swapping out Kostic for Herrmann. And while Mainz didn't look good, we did not look better at all. We moved the ball slowly and our chances were rather poor.
I was thinking since the Mainz were not attacking and we couldn't get a goal, we might aswell get the point from the game. But then, a cross into the box gets poorly cleared by Schwaab and finds the head of Okazaki, who puts it in the net and makes us lose. That just happened.
I told the guys to move upfront and try to get the goal, yet it never happened. Maxim was closely guarded in the box and Ibisevic had 2 guys on him the whole time. The wings were getting destroyed and we just looked very, very poor. I guess you can't stay happy for too long after a good win.

Matchday 16
VfB Stuttgart 3-0 Hamburger SV
13' Ibisevic (Romeu)
45' Ibisevic (PEN)
90' Herrmann (Gruezo)
SO after a poor game, we went against Hamburg, another top 5 team. But I guess after I told everybody how mad I was with them, we played a lot better very early. And when Romeu gave a nice through ball to Ibisevic, he controlled it well and took a beautiful shot to the bottom corner - just like the team I knew before Mainz.
We kept attacking and creating chances, and we were rewarded later, since Gruezo got tackled in the box and we earned a penalty. Ibisevic stepped up to take it and he put it away very well. I took Maxim and Ibisevic off at the start of the second half, so they could rest for the cup game.
We still looked the same, as our counter-attacks were on point and we were solid defensively. Again, it paid off in the end, as some good passing play and a through ball from Gruezo to Herrmann - another goal. I was really happy with the result, and knew that this was going to help us in the last 2 games of the month.

So, our last 2 games of the month were both against Paderborn - first one in the league, second one in the cup. I changed the squad up, since the cup game was going to be 2 days later. I was still confident that we would win, though.
We moved the ball nicely, yet the end product was not there. Paderborn played well, so I knew that the cup tie was going to be difficult aswell.
We did manage to get a goal, as Ginzcek got taken down in the box, which awarded us a penalty. Maxim stepped up to take it and he smashed it in. I was pretty happy with our performance, yet now we had to beat them again.

So a few days after the win, we went against them again in the cup game. Even though the last game was difficult, I was sure that we got the best draw out of most of the teams. It started off well, we were making good moves and even scored twice, yet both of the goals were called offside. It did disappoint me, yet I knew that if we play on like this, we would have no problem scoring. Yet then, something happened.
The game was close to its end, and neither team looked like scoring. Then, as Rüdiger tried to pass it to Leitner, it got intersepted and crossed into the our box. The ball bounced there for a while and nobody got to it to clear it. Then, out of nowhere, Lakic was the first one to it and he managed to score it. I couldn't believe it. We got knocked out of the Pokal in such fashion. The worst way to finish the month.

Getting kicked out of the cup wasn't great, yet we are top of the league again. Even if it is with GD, I am still happy with our league performance. I am completely disappointed with our cup performance, we should have beat Paderborn for sure.
I will try to make the January update later, it isn't going to be a long one, since January only has one game against M'Gladbach, but it will also involve a squad update (OVR and ages) and it might involve transfers. So many questions that need answering!
Well, that is it for now, thanks for reading and please, leave your comments if there is anything, I hope you enjoyed it!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
This Thread is what makes me want to keep playing Fifa. All the guys here do some amazing things. Whether that'd be Simp's Verona CM or Indi's Sheffield Wednesday CM, We all have a passion for CM in FIFA and it shows in each and every one of our write ups. The fact that this thread lasted to 1000 pages is a Milestone in and of itself. Heck when I joined this thread around 200 pgs ago I could tell that the people in this thread had a real bond with one another. Us all playing Fifa and updating each other with everything that happens in our CM's shows how much of a connection that we have between each other. Now sure we have our Rivalries (Me and Chico for example) but we still respect each other for what we do in our CM's. This community in this thread is outright amazing and cheers to another 1000 in this wonderful thread that we have here.Currently Playing:

Deportivo La Coruña
FIFA 15 - Season 1
Blanquiazules’
SpoilerDecember 2014

I can't believe they knocked you out of the cup. It's good to see you at the top of the table and I'm interested to see what you do in January. Good to see that Ibisevic is doing well, too.

Match 24
Southampton 0-2 Swansea
Montero 29' (Shelvey)
Montero 90' (Bertrand)
MotM: Jefferson Montero
Nathan Dyer returned in the first game since he left for St. Marys. We controlled the first opening half an hour and Montero registered on the score sheet after Shelvey found his run into the space left by Gonzalez. He finished it well for another goal in his recent good run of form. Ward-Prowse then got himself a second yellow card in the 45th minute for a late challenge on Ki. Harrison Reed came on for Stephens meaning that the Saints were going to play 3 at the back with the right full back position exposed. Montero wrapped it up in the last few seconds after squeezing through the tired Southampton defence and finish past Forster for the second time.

Match 25
Swansea 2-1 Tottenham
Benteke 21' (Sigurdsson)
Sigurdsson 25'
Paulinho 63'
MotM: Gylfi Sigurdsson
Benteke and Caulker made their debuts in this very important match. Win this game against 4th placed Spurs and we would go up from 5th to 4th. Benteke made an instant impact with an early chance and then got his first goal for the club on 21 minutes. He and Sigurdsson combined well with the latter passing across from the right hand side of the box to the penalty spot where Benteke's first touch took it away from Fazio and lined up a shot which ended up rustling the net. Sigurdsson then scored just 4 minutes later. Redmond dispossessed Walker on the halfway line and sprinted towards the box before turning in and getting the ball into Sigurdsson who was inside a triangle of 3 Spurs defenders. He managed to get enough space to shoot low past Friedel for his 7th goal in all competitions. Paulinho pulled one back just after the hour mark after beating the offside line and firing low to the left of Scuffet. We held onto the 1 goal lead and moved up to 4th.
Feb 11th
Match 26
Swansea 1-1 Stoke
Arnautovic 39'
Stambouli 73'
MotM: Adrian Centurion
If not for Jack Butland we would have won this game very comfortably. The Englishman made 10 saves and the majority of them prevented clear goals. Butland and Scuffet made early saves to Benteke and Ideye before Bojan hit the post with a volley. Benteke forced another save before Arnautovic got the goal. Steven Ireland got to the end line and pulled it back across the goalmouth where the Bosnian was able to poke it in ahead of Bernat. Butland then saved 2 headers from Benteke and Centurion before he was beaten by the Frenchman Stambouli. A corner was headed out to Bernat and his touch rolled to Stambouli around the 6 yard box. Butland wasn't ready and before he knew it his net was rustling. 2 more saves followed as he denied Shelvey and Redmond a late winner.

MotM: Danny Ings
2 early over the top balls for Cameron Jerome ended in 2 goals for the out of form striker. After the sluggish start by us we fought back and Ings was brought down by Martin earning a penalty which Shelvey comfortably tucked away. Ings would go on to notch 2 more goals before halftime in a 6 minute spell. The first of which was a beautifully struck shot, from a Richards pullback, into the top corner. The Canaries got an equalizer after Cañas headed into his own net. We upped the pressure after this and took control of the game but John Ruddy was outstanding in between the sticks ending the game with 9 saves. Shelvey tapped in a rebound, off an Ings effort saved by Ruddy, from a tight angle to give us a valuable 3 points as we attempt to stay ahead of 5th placed Spurs and catch the top 3 who have opened up a gap at the top.

Centurion 78'
MotM: Adrian Centurion
Centurion was on fire tonight bagging a perfect hat trick against one of the best teams in Europe and all from the right wing. It looked like it would be a long night when Götze waltzed through the defence and finished low to the right of Scuffet. Centurion got us level, and then ahead, however in the first half. He headed in a Sigurdsson corner before racing clear and finishing under Neuer right on halftime. Bernat pushed Lahm over inside the area and Müller dispatched the penalty bringing it back to 2-2. The man of the night Adrian Centurion made a a storming run after dispossessing Alaba well inside our own half. He left the Bayern defenders for dust and then had the composure to curl around, with his left foot, Manuel Neuer for his hat trick. The only downside it that we allowed Bayern 2 away goals to take back to Munich.

Swansea 2-1 Liverpool
Benteke 34' (Pen)
Delph 53'
Remy 60'
MotM: Fabian Delph
Liverpool, after over coming QPR, were our opponents in the first major piece of silverware available this season in England. And we did it! Goals from Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph sealed a memorable victory for the Welsh side. The first of the cups is ours. Sigurdsson won the penalty being clipped by Can as he prepared to shoot. Benteke, cool as ice, converted it without any trouble. Mignolet made a save from Centurion, then Stambouli headed over off a corner. Delph doubled the lead volleying in the rebound from Benteke's shot. Remy then got free and ran onto a ball from Henderson before he slotted past Scuffet to get one back for Liverpool. Remy again missed a glorious chance to tie it up in the 81st minute when he hit the post.
Swansea City Player of the Month
Gylfi Sigurdsson - CAM, 79 Ovr (+1), 27, Iceland
The Icelandic playmaker became the heartbeat of the attack this month in the No.10 role. He was involved in 2 goals against Bayern Munich picking up 1 assist. He also won the penalty against Liverpool in the League Cup Final and earned MOTM against his former club, Tottenham, scoring one and assisting the other. Swans supporters are hoping that he can keep up his impressive form in the coming months.
