Nice pick! Also that was a nice intro. The squad needs improving but is well able to get out of League 2. Good luck!

Palacios did really well and even overtook Guillermo! Last gasp winner against Elche then a solid game against Espanyol. I suppose it ended a little worse with the loss and draw but hey, that's football. 5th is good and the Youth Academy got some nice boosts in overall. Things are looking good.

January first; Incredible 2 games against Vallecano! Glad you got through them. Massive wins against Real and Barca! Decent results in your other games also. Staying steady in the table. Medunjanin is performing really well for you at the moment.

February now; That was a really good month. Knocking Barca out and getting to the final in your first season is a massive achievement! The only downside to the month was the drubbing Real gave you. Suppose it was revenge and they really had it out for you. You also managed to crack the top 6 which is great! Hang on!!!

Thanks! Means a lot. I suppose I just have more time than others, lol. It was a good month and I think Champions League football is well achievable. I think we may have overachieved last season in winning the title.

Nice Aussie signing and he could be the heartbeat of your midfield in a couple of years. Rantie also looks like a good signing and Thomas has been in great form, things are looking good. An unbeaten start is always a good way to start the season too! How's the table looking? I also like the idea of the vote system to pick your player of the year.

Great job against Chelsea, but a bush league move by the FA on that reschedule against Arsenal. Pulling out a draw at the Emirates while down a man for the last 20-30 minutes is a good result though, but it would have been nice to have had your full squad available. And way to wrap it up with a dominating win over Genk at the end. Cant wait to see how these cup runs end up. I can see that Wickham is continuing with his reputation as a cup specialist!

          AD Alcorcon - '21-'22 Season
          March Update

          League Match 26
AD Alcorcon - FC Barcelona (1-1)
          Messi 51'
          Lopez 86' (Samu Castillejo)

Recap: The battle between the top two teams in the standings resulted in a draw thanks to hard work from each one of our players on the pitch, limiting Barca to just one goal and putting in a lot of work to eventually even up the game near the end. We keep Barca 6 points away, it could had been worse.

          League Match 27
Villareal CF - AD Alcorcon (0-3)
          Vergara 10' (Correa)
          Lopez 26' (Miguel)
          Correa 62'

Recap: Surely Villareal was hoping to obtain a different result against us than the last time we faced (a 4-0 trashing by us on their turf in Copa Del Rey) but it was more of the same in this one after Vergara opened up the scoring early off a corner kick from Correa. Nico Lopez and Correa sealed the deal and it sure seems Villareal is now getting a taste of what they used to do to Alcorcon when the club from southwest Madrid arrived to La Liga.

          League Match 28
Real Sociedad - AD Alcorcon (1-1)
          Fuchs 31'
          Lopez 58' (P)

Recap: An outstanding game by Sociedad's goalkeeper, Cros, who gathered up 9 saves for an 8.5 game rating and MOTM honors. Overall actually the hosts played a very good game so this was probably a fair result.

Champions League - Round of 16, 2nd Leg
          Juventus - AD Alcorcon (0-4, 0-7 agg)
          Correa 22' (Miguel)
          Lopez 40' (P)
          Salawu 44' (Correa)
          Imada 50' (Jimenez)

Recap: Do the words "STOP! He's already dead!" mean anything to you? Poor Juve, they needed a nearly perfect game in order to turn around the 3-0 defeat they suffered in Spain but instead we beat the will out of them, pretty much clinching our ticket to the next round by halftime. During the break we decided to take out our front 3 - they were no longer needed - but Imada made it even more embarrasing in the second half. In quarter finals we'll face the only other Spanish team to advance.

          League Match 29
AD Alcorcon - Celta Vigo (3-0)
          Correa 32' (Lopez)
          Lopez 36' (Correa)
          Lopez 45' (Miguel)

Recap: It seems like the days of us losing against inferior opponents are now past as we easily took care of Celta in the first half then cruised through the second half to collect 3 more points. Nico Lopez is well on his way to being the Pichichi.

Champions League - Quarter Finals, 1st Leg
Sevilla FC - AD Alcorcon (3-4)
          Markovic 12'
          Salawu 21' (Farago)
          Farago 30' (Correa)

          Markovic 38'
          Markovic 44'
          Knoll 71' (Salawu)
          Correa 75'

Recap: Are you not entertained? (sorry for all the cheesy lines) In easily the most exciting game of this round Alcorcon came back twice from behind to earn an important road victory with 4 goals. As it's usually the case Correa came through in crunch time for our squad and although the lead is far from safe going into the 2nd leg, the 4 away goals could prove to be very valuable. Hats off to Markovic for his hat trick, especially since we don't really give up 3 goals very often.

          Liga BBVA Standings
          1. AD Alcorcon - 72pts
          2. FC Barcelona - 65pts
          3. Real Madrid - 61pts
          4. Athletic Bilbao - 59pts
          5. Valencia CF - 52pts
          6. Atletico Madrid - 50pts

          7. Villareal CF - 49pts
          8. Sevilla FC - 47pts
          ...
          18. Malaga CF - 25pts
          19. Levante UD - 21pts
          20. Granada CF - 17pts

Increasing our lead in the league? CHECK. Advancing in Champions League? CHECK. Accomplish both goals while remaining undefeated? CHECK. Our only failure was our inability to win every single game but right now that's not as important as our other goals in our attempts to win a treble. The board is fully behind us right now, confirming that the excellent work we have done this season is not going by unrecognized by them. Nico Lopez now has 29 goals in league play, 11 more than the very next top scorer (Real Madrid's Suarez) while also being tied for 3rd in the league in assists with 7. The leader in the category continues to be Farago with 14. For his part Angel Correa keeps sneaking up both charts, now tied for 3rd in scoring with 14 goals and for 2nd in assists with 8. Courtois has 12 clean sheets in league play in less games played than the leader, Real Madrid's Neuer, who has 14. Lopez and Farago are the club's top scorers in the Champions with 5 a piece, 3 behind Inter's Belfodil who leads all scorers. Correa leads that competition in assists with 6.

There was at least one news-worthy note out of our academy this month, so let's take a look at the youth squad:
          • Ohi Anthony Reinhardsen (GK, 56-62, 87-94): 15-year old from Norway with outstanding potential and good size at 6'2", 158lbs.
          • Jaime Zavaleta (RW, 61-65, 83-89): 16-year old from USA showing excellent speed. He was a lock to be a winger from the get-go so it's now a matter of developing him.
          • Chola Mayat (CB, 44-48, 79-87): 17-year old from Ivory Coast described as Physically Strong. The hope for a continued line of development at this position will need to improve significantly during the remainder of this season because he's unlikely to remain in the academy until the end of next season, by which time he'll already be 18.
          • Omar Vindheim (CDM, 48-50, 78-84): 16-year old from Norway described as defensive minded. Stands strong at 6'2", 167lbs.
          • Shola Sadami (CDM, 41-45, 78-86): 16-year old from Ivory Coast who makes up for less than ideal size with a lot of strength.
          • Alexander Antonsen (LB, 43-45, 73-79): 17-year old from Norway who will be developed as a CB due to his lack of speed and size of 6'2", 176lbs.
          • Kristoffer Solheim (CDM, 43-45, 74-80): 16-year old from Norway described as Defensive Minded who currently doesn't project to be much more than a role player.
          • Julio Gutierrez (LW, 56-60, 73-79): 17-year old from Spain who needs to continue to work on his game in the academy. Has requested to be promoted and the team is looking at their options.

          * Denotes recent addition to the academy.

Boubacar Mensah (RW, 61 OVR), 16-year old from Ivory Coast, was promoted to the senior squad at his request. He has high potential so the team is now hoping to develop him through loans to get him playing time.

Current roster (* Denotes player graduated from the youth academy):

          International Friendlies

          Argentina - Australia (4-2)
          Fernandez 33' (Vietto)
          Villalba 37' (Medaglia)

          Gameiro 40'
          Villalba 45'
          Ortiz 65' (Fernandez)

          Duke 81'

          Paraguay - Argentina (0-2)
          Dybala 18' (Correa)
          Dybala 63' (Correa)

Comments: Arguably the best 2-game set for La Albiceleste this season with the 2nd team dominating the Australians and the 1st team shutting down Paraguay. Argentina considerably outshot both opponents and is all but ready for the upcoming World Cup.

          Opponents in April:

          4/2 - Mallorca
          4/5 - Sevilla (Champions)
          4/11 - Real Madrid Castilla
          4/13 - Barcelona B
          4/17 - Malaga
          4/24 - Granada

--> And I believe if we're able to get past Sevilla we'll play at least one more game for the Champions in April. Since the 1st leg against Sevilla was on 3/30 I'll probably run out the B squad for the first game of April. They'll also get a look against Real Madrid Castilla but NOT against Barca B, who embarrassed them earlier this season to an 0-2 defeat. Barca B will now get the full wrath (hopefully) of our A team.

          THANKS FOR READING!

Great month! You absolutely dismantled Juventus in this round. Always adds a little something to a European match when it's against one of your league opponnents now that you got Sevilla. And the match was a thriller! You can always breathe a sigh of relief once the game is over on ones like that. Keep it going!

Well, I think I added a glitched player to my academy. Each time I try to open my academy my FIFA 15 crashes. Everything else with career mode seems to work just fine, but the academy was a huge focus for me in this career. I may have to restart it, which isn't too bad considering I wasn't through my first year yet so it could have been much worse.

                      Oxford United

                      Transfers In

                      Cristian Ramirez

65 Ovr, Left Back, 20 Years Old, Ecuador

                      Free Agent

In the first few months of Ganchev-McNeill's command Oxford United made five transfers of which two arrived for free. One of them was the Ecuadorian left back Cristian Ramirez who arrived from the Hungarian giants Ferencvarosi for nothing. Ramirez is a pacy and attacking oriented left back who has lots of potential and who has been compared to the legendary Roberto Carlos himself. Ramirez is expected to get the starting spot in Oxford's lineup.

                      Rivaldo Coetzee

65 Ovr, Centre Back, 17 Years Old, South Africa

                      Free Agent

The second player who arrived for free was the South African defensive gem Rivaldo Coetzee. He joined Oxford from Ajax Cape Town where he made his breakthrough. Now Coetzee will be a starter in the League 2 next to another summer signing.

                      Ryan Tafazolli

61 Ovr, Centre Back, 22 Years Old, England

                      €150,000 + Johnny Mullins

The third and final defensive signing Oxford made was the English centre back Ryan Tafazolli who joined from Mansfield Town. Oxford's central defender Johnny Mullins was sent the other way. Rumours say that a member of the AFC Wimbledon board suggested Tafazolli to Ganchev-McNeill. Tafazolli, who is a Southampton academy graduate, is one of the best defenders in the league and with the low price he is a real bargain.

                      Lee Evans

63 Ovr, Central Midfielder, 20 Years Old, Wales

                      €200,000

Oxford United made their midfield stronger with the signing of the Welsh midfielder Lee Evans from Wolverhampton. The young midfielder has played for Wolves since 2013 and he has made a couple appearances for the Welsh U-21 national team. Evans will probably get a starting role in the midfield.

                      Carl Winchester

64 Ovr, Right Midfielder, 21 Years Old, Northern Ireland

                      €200,000

The final and most expensive signing Oxford made was Carl Winchester. The Northern Irish winger joined from Oldham Athletic where he has played since joining the academy in 2010. Winchester has a lot of potential in him and he could be the next big player from Northern Ireland.

                      August 2014

                      Oxford United 2 - 1 Portsmouth
                      Gnanduillet 62', 69'
                      Tubbs 8'

The first competitive game of Oxford United under Ganchev-McNeill's command didn't start too well. Portsmouth's Matt Tubbs headed the ball into the net under ten minutes into the game and Oxford weren't able to score from their several chances. At halftime Armand Gnanduillet was substituted on and the Ivorian striker made a huge impact on the game. Right after the hour mark he equalised the game with a header and only seven minutes later he got the winner with an accurate shot.

                      Round 1
                      Shrewsbury Town 0 - 1 Oxford United
                      Gnanduillet 109' pen

In their second game of the month Oxford United were away to Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup. The home team was the clear favourite but surprisingly Oxford controlled the game. They had many chances but at the end Gnanduillet's penalty in extra time decided the game.

                      Tranmere Rovers 1 - 2 Oxford United
                      Hume 45'
                      Hoskins 39', 60'

Oxford United's second league game of the season saw the team beat Tranmere Rovers thanks to a brace by Will Hoskins. He scored the first of the night with a very well placed shot that went into the bottom left corner. About five minutes later Tranmere's Hume managed to equalise the game with a terrible shot but fifteen minutes into the second half Hoskins got his second from a counter attack. Oxford's left back Cristian Ramirez sprained his ankle and he will be out for a month.

                      Oxford United 2 - 0 York City
                      Hoskins 19' pen, O'Dowda 77'

Oxford continued their winning streak in the home game against York City. Will Hoskins also scored his third goal in two games early on from the penalty spot. An hour later Callum O'Dowda scored the second goal of the match after cutting in from the right flank.

                      Oxford United 2 - 0 Dagenham & Redbridge
                      Rose 81', Gnanduillet 89'

The win against Dag & Red was the third game in a row in which Oxford scored two goals. The first 80 minutes were surprisingly even and both teams had some good chances but it came down to Danny Rose's goal in the 81st minute that decided the game. Rose finished a passing move with a good shot and eight minutes later Armand Gnanduillet curled in the second goal.

                      Round 1
                      Portsmouth 0 - 3 Oxford United
                      Hylton 53', Devera 78' OG, Gnanduillet 90'

After the tough match between these two teams a few weeks ago this game was expected to be an even one as well. That expectation wasn't a correct one. Starting from the first minute of the game Oxford looked like the better team and they wanted the victory. It took fifty minutes for the first goal to be scored and it was a tap in by Danny Hylton. Fifteen minutes later Callum O'Dowda tried to cross the ball in with a low cross but Devera deflected it into his own net. Ten minutes later Armand Gnanduillet scored the third goal of the game from a counter attack.

                      Shrewsbury Town 0 - 0 Oxford United

There was pretty much nothing interesting happening in this game. A draw is a fair result.

Some nice young signings you brought in, and you added a piece to every part of the squad aside form forwards. Really impressive start to the season. I thought you had a perfect month until I saw that last match, but it is still an unbeaten month. Looking forward to seeing how you do in England! I'm so used to you being in other leagues!

Okay, like I said earlier, I will likely be restarting my Deportivo career in the next few days due to a glitch in my youth academy that causes the game to crash anytime I try to open the academy screen. Time will be limited the next few days since this weekend I am moving out of my apartment and into a house my fiancé and I are renting since we are getting married in less than 2 months.

This isn't such a bad situation since there are a few things I hope I can do differently, mainly get Juan Dominguez to actually sign a damn contract extension!

Sooooo, just imagine my introductory post remains the same. I will be keeping my 5 year plan intact and that will guide my actions for my career. I will also be adding Valeron again, but this time I might be looking at one or 2 more signings in that first window. And also, I am hoping to actually be able to sell some players. For some reason in this one I sold one cheap player for about €150K, but then couldn't sell anyone else after that since they kept rejecting any contract negotiations with other teams. And that includes a player that asked to be transfer listed (How does that make sense? Request a transfer and then refuse every single one?).

Everything else with career mode seems to work just fine, but the academy was a huge focus for me in this career. I may have to restart it, which isn't too bad considering I wasn't through my first year yet so it could have been much worse.
That's what happened to me with Newcastle. It took ages to fix as I had to wait for the player to leave

That's who it was, I remembered someone had a similar problem. If I was further in the career I probably would have done the same, but seeing as how I haven't finished the first season yet I think it would be best to just start over rather than wait until he happens to leave the academy.

Yea I had the issue to in a Chelsea career I was doing. It was weird everything was fine up until the first May update and then I couldn't access it. Just deleted the career and started my Juventus one (The One I Am Posting Here.)
