Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Nice pick! Also that was a nice intro. The squad needs improving but is well able to get out of League 2. Good luck!

April 2016 - Season 2
FIFA 15 (PS4)
Palacios did really well and even overtook Guillermo! Last gasp winner against Elche then a solid game against Espanyol. I suppose it ended a little worse with the loss and draw but hey, that's football. 5th is good and the Youth Academy got some nice boosts in overall. Things are looking good.
January first; Incredible 2 games against Vallecano! Glad you got through them. Massive wins against Real and Barca! Decent results in your other games also. Staying steady in the table. Medunjanin is performing really well for you at the moment.
February now; That was a really good month. Knocking Barca out and getting to the final in your first season is a massive achievement! The only downside to the month was the drubbing Real gave you. Suppose it was revenge and they really had it out for you. You also managed to crack the top 6 which is great! Hang on!!!
Thanks! Means a lot. I suppose I just have more time than others, lol.
It was a good month and I think Champions League football is well achievable. I think we may have overachieved last season in winning the title.
Nice Aussie signing and he could be the heartbeat of your midfield in a couple of years. Rantie also looks like a good signing and Thomas has been in great form, things are looking good. An unbeaten start is always a good way to start the season too! How's the table looking? I also like the idea of the vote system to pick your player of the year.
I'll end the poll now. Fifteen votes were casted and one candidate received almost half of them. The team that will represent that candidate is...

Good morning. How do you feel about your new job?
I feel very good. For the past eight years I have been dreaming about coaching a professional football team and now that dream has come true. I'm really excited and I'm looking forward to our campaign this season. The fact that I know the staff and players helps a lot.
The supporters have big expectations for you. Will the pressure affect you?
Yes, of course it will. There would be something wrong if it didn't but I can live with it and they are right to be worried. I'm young and I don't have a lot of experice but I'm sure I'll prove them wrong. The supporters and the pressure will just motivate me.
What is your target for the first season?
We have agreed with the board that Oxford United should be fighting for the title at the end of the season. We also want to get a good run in the cup.
How about after this season?
After this season we want to reach the Premier League in five years. When that happens we will have a strong team that will fight for a place in the European competitions. Our aim is to challenge for the Champions League trophy in ten years.
You mentioned improving the academy. What does this mean?
It means that we want to have a lot of homegrown talents in the team. We will invest money and make the academy modern, well-working and efficient. We want to have at least a couple players from the youth academy in the squad two seasons from now.
You also mentioned a mainly British policy.
Yes. It means that we will focus on signing mainly English, Northern Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Irish players but we are not banning the option to sign players from other countries. The amount of English players in the two highest leagues is alarming and we will do our best to increase it.
Do you think you will succeed in your ambitious plans?
Yes, I do. I'm sure that our plans will work.

The Oxford Times, June 10th 2014
Two days ago Oxford United Football Club announced the termination of Gary Waddock's contract because his team finished in a disappointing eighth place and it didn't manage to reach the League 2 playoffs. Last night the club announced their new manager which left many fans in shock. Oxford United's new manager will be the 35 years old Scottish-Bulgarian Simon Ganchev-McNeill whose managing experience consists of a three-year spell in charge of Glasgow Rangers' youth team and a five-year spell of assistant managing at Oxford. It is clear that the fans hoped for someone with a lot of experience and that Ganchev-McNeill will face a lot of pressure but the board of Oxford United have stated that they trust the young manager completely. The new man in charge had his first press conference earlier today.

April 2016 - Season 2
FIFA 15 (PS4)
Spoiler
CA Osasuna 1 - 0 Elche CF
OSA: Palacios 90'
Elche welcomed Osasuna to La Liga with a 3-2 defeat back in August, but this time around the Basques were able to make things even with a last minute win at El Sadar. The match had been back and forth with neither team having an advantage over the other until the very last minute when Guillermo passed the ball to Federico Palacios who dribbled into the right side of the box looking like he would cross the ball, however he faked the cross and cut in, tricking his marker and finding himself wide open for a shot.

The German-Spanish forward took his shot which beat the keeper and put Osasuna in the lead. The referee ended the match soon after which signified Osasuna's third consecutive victory in the league.
CA Osasuna 3 - 0 RCD Espanyol
OSA: Palacios 73' 84' Guillermo 90'
The first time these two teams faced each other Osasuna won with a surprising result of 3-1 against the Catalans who in that time were fighting with Real Madrid for 2nd place. This time Osasuna really made it known that they are the superior team as they properly disposed of an Espanyol without their captain Hector Moreno. Jose Antonio Rodriguez had requested to play this match and Chavez fielded him with the first team, leaving Riesgo on the bench to sit this one out. Even though the scoreline shows a dominant Osasuna, in reality the home team didn't establish their superiority until the second half. The first half was very equal, with Roberto Torres actually missing his first ever penalty shot since Chavez's arrival.

The second half was just as balanced, until the 73rd minute where Palacios joined Guillermo inside the box for a cross and the short forward got his head to it to open the score. Palacios headed the ball the only way he can, putting everything in his jump to get to the ball which forces him to land flat on his back. Nine minutes later, Palacios teamed up with Guillermo to make an incredible play. Palacios cut in from the right side and dribbled down the front edge of the box. He passed the ball to Guillermo who received it with his back towards goal and shielded it, using his strength to fight off his marker. As Guillermo engaged the physical battle, Palacios sprinted from the edge of the box into the left side and shouted for a through pass. Guillermo saw him, and with a spark of flair he stepped on the ball and gave Palacios the perfect pass he was asking for. Palacios sprinted up to the ball and took his shot first time, powering the ball past the goalkeeper who reacted well but the ball just barely went under his arm.

The goal not only showed Osasuna's great form but also the outstanding chemistry Guillermo and Palacios have developed. Guillermo finished Espanyol off at the ninetieth minute with a well placed shot after dribbling into the box. Espanyol had been comfortable in 3rd place for a while now, but this defeat has allowed the rest of the teams to shorten the gap and threaten their Champions League spot.
Real Zaragoza 1 - 0 CA Osasuna (B-Team)
ZAR: Porcar 37'
Osasuna's winning streak has been put to an end by the team deepest in the relegation zone, Real Zaragoza. The B-Team had previously been in amazing form, but they seemed to still be dragging that humiliating defeat against Tottenham. Kenan Kodro was completely neutralized in attack, with hardly any crosses coming into the box from his wingers. One of the players that stood out the most, and not in a good way, was the former Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel. Miquel had a bad match against Tottenham, and had another one today, failing to beat Porcar to a header despite his much taller stature.
CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Getafe CF
The first team were unable to return to their winning ways and were barely able to hold their unbeaten home streak with a no goals draw. Getafe were just as dangerous as Osasuna in front of goal, but the visitors had the biggest chance to get ahead in the second half after Raul Albentosa committed a foul inside the box. Getafe's Moralez, who usually scores on Osasuna, stepped up to take the penalty shot but he hit it wide!

Asier Riesgo, who returned to the starting lineup tonight, dove the right way and it looks like he would have saved it anyway had the shot been on target. Getafe had the upper hand in the final minutes of the match but weren't able to break through Osasuna's defenders or Riesgo, who was given the MOTM award with 7 saves.
INJURY NEWS
Jose Antonio Delgado, "Nono", suffered a Sprained Ankle after coming on as a sub against Getafe, and will be out for 4 Weeks. Will miss the rest of the season.
CA Osasuna Player of The Month

CDM - Sergi Darder (Spain) (73 OVR 22yrs) (+1)
The Spanish midfield arrived from Malaga in August and has had a fairly inconsistent season so far. The lack of a defensive mind in midfield had led to Chavez scouting for naturally defensive midfielders, but Darder looked rejuvenated this month, allowing Camarasa and Cuevas to push forward while he roamed the area in front of his back line. Darder also has a playmaking touch to his game, often getting the plays and counterattacks started. His tackling may not be as good as other natural defenders, but this month his defensive work seems to have improved greatly. Scouting for defensive midfielders has been put on hold for the meantime. Perhaps if Darder finishes the season in this form he'll make the coaching staff think twice about looking for another midfielder.

*Alex Silva Gavan - ? (56-68, 70 - 86): The 16 year old from Spain has yet to decide which position he will settle in and we're still not sure what type of player he is either. With a 6'0" height he should be a good fit pretty much anywhere on the field especially down the center.
*Chris Jamieson IV - GK (56-72, 72-92):
Julian Rubin was the first American to join the academy, but now this 6'7" giant also from the United States has stolen the show as people are excited to see him between the sticks. At 16 years old he's looking like a solid candidate for a call up soon depending on how he shapes up with the U17s.
Eñaut Gabbiadini - CDM (49-59, 67-79) (+14): The Spanish midfielder becomes the 2nd CDM in the academy, although at 15 years old he still has much to develop, including his height which is quite low for a CDM as he stands at 5'3".
*Frost S. Napoles - CM (55-65, 69-81): Technically Gifted has been the term used to describe the 16 year old midfielder from Spain, but we haven't seen enough of him with the U17 to say what his future holds.
Joyce Barber - RM (58-62, 71-75) (+4): By reading his name one might assume the player is from the United Kingdom, but in fact he is a Spaniard. At least, he was born in Spain. Barber is only 5'4" but he has proven to be a playmaker from the wing even at 15 years of age.
*Turned 16 grew to 5'11"
Julian Rubin - GK (56-68, 69-85) (+19): Julian becomes the first player from the United States to join the Osasuna youth academy, and if he develops well enough he could even become the first ever American player to wear Osasuna's colors. The 15 year old goalkeeper could make history, but first he must show his class in the youth levels.
Paré Bulhões Vinuesa Ramos - CDM (68-72, 81-87) (+4): The 17 year old from Spain immediately caught Chavez's eye when the youth academy resumed operations last season, and he is now in line for a potential call up to the senior team in the future. Ramos stands at 6'3" and has chosen CDM as his primary position. The player covered several others in the youth team, so he looks to be a very versatile player on the field. The youngster also hasn't chosen which, whether his last name or maiden name, will be printed on his jersey when he does receive the call up...
Roussillon Murnane - ST (57-61, 71-75) (+2): The 5'9" 17-year old from Spain has shown the characteristics of a winger as he tends to drift wide from the center.
April Headline
Osasuna Find New Top Scorer
For the first time since arriving from Athletic Bilbao last season, Guillermo has lost his place as club top scorer in all competitions. His place has been taken by the loanee Federico Palacios, who has adjusted really well to playing on the right wing and is contributing with goals again. Guillermo was the top scorer for the club and even in La Liga before breaking his elbow which kept him away from the pitch for 2 months. In his absence, Federico Palacios found regular game time which allowed him to make his goal scoring breakthrough. Guillermo's return to the lineup has not been an easy one, as he has slowly been getting back to his goal scoring ways. Instead of having the two strikers compete for the starting spot, Chavez chose to include both in the starting lineup with Guillermo taking back the ST position and placing Palacios at RW. Guillermo has slowly been finding his form, while Palacios also took time to adjust to his new role. No hard feelings have surfaced between the two strikers, and they have developed an incredible understanding with each other, with both players frequently assisting each other's goals or scoring themselves. This partnership has the potential to become one of the deadliest in Spain in the future, especially with players like Torres and Cuevas to supply them with goal scoring opportunities.
Conclusion
Loving the way the team is playing right now. Yes, we lost to Zaragoza and yea we drew with Getafe, but I'm very much liking the way the squad is working especially midfield. Palacios had the instruction to stay forward, cut inside, get in behind, and get into the box for crosses. Very specific. I have removed the instruction to get in behind because that usually meant he would receive the ball while sprinting. He has really improved his game without that instruction, as it is now easier for him to cut inside and partner up with Guillermo since he's not running around the entire time. Having an extra player inside the box has also been great since Guillermo would usually have a double mark during crosses and he doesn't really have an aerial presence standing at 5'11".
That's all for this month. With only four matches played it felt like this was a quick and easy update.
Thanks For Reading!

Juan Dominguez got Deportivo on the board after dribbling from the right side into the box to unleash a powerful left footed shot into the top right corner. In the 68th minute Bilbao's keeper took out Diakite as the ball was coming in to concede a penalty that Medunjanin converted easily to bring it within 1. Fariña controlled the ball on the right side of the box and found Cuenca cutting into the middle who was able to take 1 touch and then direct it to the bottom left corner to complete the comeback from down 3-0.

Juanfran laid the ball off in the box to Medunjanin for a first time finish into the top right corner. Baptistao used a quick touch to send the defender the wrong way and hit it from just inside the box perfectly to the far post. Cavaleiro had the ball taken from him in the box, but his persistence got the ball back right back for the quick finish. Bueno pulled down a ball that was played over the top and touched it past Insua to hit it quickly into the top left corner. Medunjanin then converted a penalty after he drew it when Quini took him down inside the box and was shown a straight red. Trashorras then got the winner off a great ball over the top right between the two center halves and he headed it strong past the keeper.

Manuel Pablo in a fit of madness cleared the ball from the wing directly into his own box rather than out of bounds and Martins rose up to beat the defense to the header and placed it in the bottom left corner. Juan Dominguez got the ball at the top of the box and quickly played it to Medunjanin on the left side of the goal who was able to send a cross in that Cavaleiro headed home for the equalizer. With the match almost over, Cavaleiro took off down the right wing and played the ball across the face of the goal for Postiga to tap in to secure all 3 points.

Fariña tracked down the ball after it was deflected inside the box and collected it to turn and shoot right inside the right post. Diakite conceded a penalty after trying to win position in a race to the ball when Lux inexplicably failed to come off his line to collect it allowing Bueno to convert off the left post and in. Fariña found Cuenca down the right side of the goal and he placed it back across the goal just under the keeper's arm. Trashorras equalized after he dribbled the ball towards the right side of the goal and fired a shot perfectly to the far post. Cuenca played the ball to Juan Dominguez outside the box who was quickly able to find Perez down the right side for a first time strike past the keeper on the near post. Valeron found Postiga at the top of the box who made a quick turn and laid it off for Fariña to hit a powerful shot just over the keeper's shoulder. Lass broke free down the right wing and sent a cross into the box that once again due to Lux's lack of aggression, Manucho was able to get his head on it and put it into the net. Deportivo was able to hold on the rest of the way and they will advance based on away goals.

Barcelona found an equalizer in the second half on a corner when Pique rose up to head the ball to the left side of the goal for Neymar to hit with a fantastic side volley into the top left corner. Juan Dominguez dribbled from the right side of the box towards the middle and played it to Perez who was holding off a man on his back and didn't even bother to turn fully around before unleashing a left footed shot that went just inside the left post for the winning goal. Ronaldo beat two separate defenders coming in from the left wing and played a low ball across for Benzema to tap in easily for an equalizer. Juanfran dribbled in from the right wing across the top of the box and found Fariña up the middle who used his first touch to get around Pepe, and then his second touch to avoid Ramos, and his third was to slide the ball inside the near post to regain the lead for Deportivo. Juanfran came across the top of the box from the right side once again and picked out Medunjanin on the left side of the goal who used his weaker right foot to power it past Casillas on the near post. In a poor display, Juanfran held on to the ball too long and had it taken away by Khedira who played it ahead immediately to Benzema for an easy 1 on 1 finish to the right side of the goal.

Deportivo La Coruña Player of the Month
Haris Medunjanin

It was a tough choice this month between Haris Medunjanin and Lucas Perez, but Medunjanin won out in the end due to his contributions all over the pitch and not just the attack. His 4 goals to go with an assist were key in several matches, and his ability to track back during each defensive possession proved to be a hassle for opponents all month long.
Manager Comments
Goals, Goals, Goals - After months of struggling to find the back of the net, we couldn't seem to be stopped this month. Unfortunately we also couldn't stop the other teams from scoring either for the most part. While the improved attacking form is great, the trade off isn't necessarily a good one if we are allowing that many goals in on the other end.
Academy Update - Two new players from Argentina have joined the academy. The first is Fabian Lopez who will feature on the left side of the defense and brings a strong defensive mentality to the position. The second is Nelson Palacios who hasn't quite settled into a position yet, but will likely feature in the attack. After wrapping up a successful trip in Argentina, we have moved our scout to Mexico now to see if we can't find some prospects to bring over into Spanish football.
Giant Killers - We are making a name for ourselves as a tough opponent against the top teams in the league. With our win over Real Madrid earlier this season, the win against Barca this month, and knocking Real Madrid out of the Copa Del Rey, we have proven that we are never an easy 3 points.
Manuel Pablo - With the club advancing to the semi-final of the Copa Del Rey, the captain wants to end his long and historical Deportivo career with a great run. Manuel Pablo was part of the Deportivo team that beat Real Madrid in the 2002 Copa Del Rey Final, but he went down with a broken Fibia early in the season and missed the entire run through the cup competition including the final. Now with a chance to recapture that missed glory, the man who is looking to retire wants to go out with his own contribution to a piece of hardware that he wasn't able to play for the first time around in his career.

February now; That was a really good month. Knocking Barca out and getting to the final in your first season is a massive achievement! The only downside to the month was the drubbing Real gave you. Suppose it was revenge and they really had it out for you. You also managed to crack the top 6 which is great! Hang on!!!

Managers Thoughts
An undefeated month to start my reigh which is great. We tried two formations with a 3-4-3 in the first two matches and the 4-1-2-1-2 narrow in the second two games. Our first three games we had a combined 9 shots on target which was concerning. However, with seven shot on target in our last game was promising and with our new signing in Rantie he hopefully will boost our shots on targets and the formation also giving us more players to attack, we will probably stick with the 4-1-2-1-2 formation. We had some great indiviuals this month however, if it wasn't for the team they wouldn't of had those performances. We have good depth so their is no room for bad performances and the players know this. This season looks promising Birmingham fans, be excited.
