Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

The Rivals: Borussia Dortmund - Season 1

Pre-Notes: So, going into the window I had one selling planned, one signing planned. I planned to sell Aubameyang, and then buy Calhanoglu. Well, things got crazy. I should start with players sold.

    Transfers Out:
    Aubameyang - PSG - €52,500,000
Notes: This was expected. Maybe a little more money than expected, but I planned to sell him.

    Bernd Leno - Tottenham - €47,500,000
Notes: This was crazy. They came in with like a 10 million bid, so I jacked it up to 50 mil thinking it would be the end, but they countered with this. Remember, he came in for €7,000,000. Just wow. Didn't want to sell him, but it will help the team.

    Sokratis - Real Madrid - €22,000,000
Notes: Didn't want to sell him, but the money was too much.

    Shinji Kagawa - PSG - €21,500,000
Notes: Wanted to sell him, didn't see him fitting in.

    Transfers In:
    Hakan Calhanoglu - €20,500,000

Notes: This was the main signing heading into the window, but it wasn't the biggest signing once the window was done.

    Marc-Andre ter Stegen - €22,500,000
Notes: This was a straight shot at Jamie and Borussia M'gladbach. Obviously ter Stegen used to play for them before the move to Barcelona.

    Nicolas Nkoulou - €10,000,000
Notes: This was a good replacement for Sokratis, and that's all it was.

    Toni Kroos - €41,500,000
Notes: This was the biggest signing of the window. We needed another central midfielder, so I got one.

    Cesc Fabregas - 24,500,000
Notes: This wasn't a need, but it was a want and an upgrade. This left me with basically no money. This team got a lot better.

Transfer notes: Another window, and again, too many moves. Next window, the maximum signings I'm going to allow myself to make is 2. I probably will go with just one, not sure who I'd want yet. But those are the transfers.

    Bayern Leverkusen 2 - 3 BVB
    Reus 4'
    Reus 11'
    Castro 23'
    Hazard 44'
    Son 90'

That's the month. The team got a lot better, but it is unfortunate that I made way too many moves. But, with that, I'll hand it to Cruzerr.

      Valencia CF

      October 2014

      Valencia CF 1 - 1 Atletico Madrid
      Negredo 45'
      Mandzukic 90'

Our first of three games this month was against the holding champions Atletico Madrid. The Mestalla is always a tough place to visit and things didn't look good for Atleti after the first 45 minutes. We had controlled the half and Alvaro Negredo had put is into the lead with an outside of the foot shot. In the second half Atleti through everyone forwards, including their keeper Oblak, and they finally equalised in stoppage time from a corner kick. A draw was a fair result in my opinion.

Deportivo la Coruña 1 - 2 Hertha BSC
      Dominguez 45'
      Negredo 70', Perez 85'

Surprisingly Tex's Galician Deportivo proved to be a tough challenge for us. The first half was quite boring and on top of that Juan Dominguez put Depor into the lead with a near-post shot. We then started taking control of the game and soon after the hour mark Alvaro Negredo equalised from a counter attack. It then took fifteen minutes until the winning goal. Parejo and Perez, the two P's, combined well for the goal. Perez passed the ball to Negredo and started running into the box. Negredo shifted it to Parejo who played Perez through on goal for an easy finish. What a midfield combo the two have formed! We then managed to hang onto the lead.

      Valencia CF 1 - 1 Elche CF
      Negredo 8'
      Rodriguez 22'

A very poor result for us. All of the action happened in the first 30 minutes as Elche defended for their lives after the equaliser. We had a chance of winning the game in the 81st minute when Nolito stepped up to take a penalty but Tyton in goal managed to save it.

      Player of the Month

      Alvaro Negredo

Alvaro Negredo has been in great form since joining Valencia in the summer and he finally got the Player of the Month award for his very good performances. Negredo scored three goals in three games in October and all of those goals proved to be important. The Spanish forward is enjoying the form of his life and he's leading the race for the Golden Boot.

      La Liga Table

      1. Valencia CF, 23 pts
      2. FC Barcelona, 19 pts
      3. Real Madrid, 18 pts
      4. Villarreal CF, 17 pts
      5. Athletic Bilbao, 17 pts
      6. Getafe, 16 pts
      -----------------------------------------------
      18. Celta Vigo, 6 pts
      19. SD Eibar, 5 pts
      20. Granada CF, 4 pts

      My Thoughts

We got only five points this month but if I'm completely honest I'm kind of glad that we dropped some points. Barca and Real are starting to catch up with us and I think both of them have a game in hand. Next month we'll face Bilbao, Villarreal and Barca who are all top six sides at the moment and it won't be easy for us. Parejo and Perez have been amazing in the middle and Negredo has been doing well as the striker. Meanwhile Paco Alcacer has been completely useless and soon he'll be dead to me in the game.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Simppu Congrats on the treble with Hertha, what an accomplishment and way to end that career. You really own Bayern now. To answer your question, yes there is a relegation playoff in the Russian league. The 13th and 14th teams from the RFPL play the 3rd and 4th teams from the National League. However, this doesn't exist on FIFA because the 2nd league isn't in the game. Last year, both National League teams beat the RFPL teams, so 4 teams got relegated and 4 were promoted. Anzhi, Volga, Krylya, and Tom were relegated. Arsenal Tula, Ufa, Torpedo Moscow, and Mordovia Saransk were promoted.

jamiec Top of the table and a league cup final win against Arsenal. Tough luck against Leeds, but still doing very well.

2nd, 3rd update - 13 points clear at the top, congrats on securing promotion! You really hammered Reading and Birmingham. Blackpool always gets relegated, lol. Pritchard and Lee had great seasons for you. Good luck in the Prem!

Regens A lot of goals this month. 6 against Hoffenheim, wow. Top of the league table, congrats.

2nd update - Red Bulls Leipzig, what a first match against 1860 Munich. Good transfers brought in too.

Blue Eagle Sorry to see you knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Juventus. Very good month in the league though, to go 5 points clear at the top of Serie A. The results against Fiorentina and Napoli were particularly nice. Also, good for advancing in the Europa League against CSKA and making it to the quarterfinals.

texasbum Very good in the Champions League being top of your group. Nice results against Wolfsburg and Arsenal. You snagged a point against Villarreal with that 90th minute penalty, and then had it come back at you with an 89th minute goal for Atletico. I see Akinfeev is still at Sevilla and doing well.

Keano Great to see a Wycombe career. Winning in the J.Paint and Capital One Cup is a good way to get things going. Tough to go 3 games without a goal though. Still, you're in 5th place and if you can find some offense, you should be fine.

2nd update - Looks like Forest is having a hard time scoring goals in the Premier League. Like you said though, you played some pretty good sides. Liverpool and Arsenal up next, you really need that result against Norwich.

I'm to page 1409 guys, I will comment more later!

Jeez, you're making some huge transfers and a huge amount of them! Selling Leno and Aubameyang was a good decision in my opinion because you got a huge chunk of money for them. The replacements are also very good.

Your form in the league hasn't improved too much but you're still doing a good job with the squad you have. The transfers are really interesting and good looking! Ledson and Obita should go up by a few overalls before they arrive at the club. I'm a bit worried that Barton and Wright-Phillips will be bad when they arrive.

You're doing a very good job with the players you have! Gabbiadini and Kruse are looking like very good attackers for you. Depay is a very exciting signing and Zambrano should improve the squad for the battle on two fronts next season.

Thank you! Yeah, I knew about the relegation playoff and I'm not sure what I even wrote then. I meant to ask if there are playoffs between the top six teams that decide which team wins the title like in the MLS.

                      MOTM Jesus

A good start to an important month. Juan Jesus put in a good shift at center back and was crucial in this game because the away team just launched ball after ball into our box from everywhere. Shaqiri opened the scoring just before half with a powerful strike that went right through the goalkeepers legs. Palacio earned the penalty when he was pulled down from behind as he was shooting. He sent the keeper the wrong way and hit a well placed shot to the upper ninety. Sadly Asamoah will be suspended for the next match for collecting too many yellow cards.

Shaqiri's shot that goes between the keeper's legs.

                      '

                      MOTM Palacio

We started well and with our first attack we won a penalty. Lazio captain, Radu, pulled down Palacio inside the box while Palacio was getting ready to shoot and was cautioned for it. Palacio sent the keeper the wrong way and powered the ball into the back of the net. Our second goal was beautiful. Shaqiri threw the ball into Guarin who touched and let it bounce before hitting it on the half volley from distance to the far corner of the goal. A brilliant strike and the keeper had no chance of getting it. Palacio scored his second of the game when he was played over the top and then outran the defenders and slotted it past the keeper for an easy goal. Parolo would pull one back for the home team with a first time finish near post that I think Leno should have saved but it proved to just be consolation goal.

                      Guarin's half volley.

                      Palacio 45'

                      MOTM Guarin

A huge win for us, this game puts us in first over Juventus by two points and a game in hand. It puts us in a position where if we don't win the league it is all our fault. This game was pretty even though as expected. Palacio was able to turn his man and get behind the defense and just power the ball past Buffon and score the only goal of the game. Both keepers played well otherwise there would have been more goals.

                      Europa League
                      Inter 3 - 1 Everton
                      Danilo 20'
                      Mirallas 58'
                      Depay 72'
                      Shaqiri 90
                      '

                      MOTM Leno

A game that we got a good result in even though we didn't play to the best of our ability. Everton were defending well and we didn't even get inside their box until the goal and it was from a long cross. Baines took Shaqiri down from just past the halfway line and gave us a free kick. Thiago was the one to take it and a played a lofted ball into the box where Danilo ran on to it and headed it right over the on rushing keeper. Mirallas scored in a similar fashion. Mcgeady crossed the ball into the box and Mirallas jumped and did a fantastic scissor kick that beat Leno. We would take the lead again in the 72' when Depay was played through and just smashed the ball near post past the keeper who didn't even react. Shaqiri would remove all doubt with his excellent solo goal. He used a Berbatov spin to get past his man then did a step over to get by another one then smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

                      Palacio lifting the trophy.

                      MOTM Icardi

We started well but were unable to score until the 30'. Icardi headed in a Mane cross to give us the lead. Right before halftime Mane would double our lead and he was assisted by Icardi. Icardi played him through over the top and Mane chested the ball and en hit it on the volley. The Genoa keeper got a hand to it but was unable to save it. Shaqiri scored ten minutes after the interval with a well placed shot to the bottom corner. He got the ball from a cross that Mane drilled in and then bounced off a defender straight into Shaqiri's path. Icardi scored with a easy tap in and Shaqiri got the assist with a drilled cross. Kovacic suffered a torn hamstring and will be out for 2 months. With this result all we have to do is get two points in our remaining two matches.

                      MOTM Ranocchia

We played a back up and the home team took advantage of that. They came out a pressed us hard and high up the pitch. Perica scored his first league goal and it only took him 14 minutes. He was able to out jump Felipe at the back post and head in to the top corner. Icardi equalized just over 20 minutes later with a first time shot from a great through ball by Mane that just flew by the keeper. Ranocchia scored when a corner was played short and then crossed on the ground so he had an easy tap in for his first goal of the season. Perica scored again but this time it was a good solo goal where he beat Santon and Felipe then rifled it past Leno. If we get just one more point from our next match we will guarantee the title no matter what Juventus do. For Juventus to have any chance they will have to win.

                      League Match
                      Inter 3 - 0 Empoli

                      '

                      MOTM Palacio

A well deserved win to win the title. So we won the league and the commentators were talking about it after the match but there was no celebrations or trophy lifting so I don't have pictures. Palacio opened the scoring with a flick goal from a nice cross that Shaqiri sent into the box. Shaqiri was the man with the assist for the second goal when he drilled a cross and Depay was able to slide through the defenders to get to the ball a score. Palacio scored in the dieting minutes of the game when he broke past the last man and smash the shot past the keeper who had to chance.

                      Confirmation we won the league.

                      My Thoughts:

We met all of our objectives for the season which is great, and even over achieved in the Europa League and Serie A. Winning all but one of our games this month was fantastic, we even beat Juventus for the first time this season. I was very happy to win the Europa League but felt bad for Everton because the 3-1 score line does not do them justice because they actually played very well.

With all of our prize money we have about $24,000,000 in the transfer budget plus $115,000 in the wage budget. I think I'm going to spend it on a youth scout and on offering new contracts to players but I'm not sure.

I’ll have another post with awards, the final league table and all that other nonsense.

No, there's not a playoff to decide the championship. It's just the standard point system like the rest of Europe. The difference being, Russia has a big winter break.

                            Spoiler
Five wins from your last six league games and that sixth being a draw is an incredible way to end the season! Four clean sheets to boot. Palacio, Shaqri and Depay were all in great form and contributed lots to this final month and the season. Great win over Juve too. Congrats on winning the Europa League! It's good to win it when you get the chance to do so.

I'll take my 10th place league finish! No need for cups if you arent a top team! I think the last team that was lower EPL- Championship side to get to a cup final was Millwall back in (Dont quote me on this) 08-09 Season I think. When they were in the Championship and got into European Football through the cup
