@southernmetalhead: I voted for Lazio as I have previously thought of doing one with them. It'd be good to see them challenge for the title sometime in the future.Comment

The Return of the Chairboys
September 2014
Capital One Cup: Round 2
Wycombe 3-3 Yeovil Town (aet, 3-0p)
Walker 35' Craig 55' Morias 92'
Leitch-Smith 13' Grant 90' 101'
Motm: Peter Murphy (WYC, 7.9)
A thrilling game played by the B Team using a 4-1-2-1-2 with a LM and RM. Nicky Walker, on loan from Rotherham, played excellently at CAM. Junior Morias was also a great impact sub up front in extra time. He reacted first to put in a rebound off a saved shot and very nearly won the tie late on hitting the post after a counter attack. Matt Ingram was the hero of the penalty shootout saving two penalties while the other was blasted high and wide.
Sky Bet FL2: Match 6
Wycombe 0-1 Mansfield Town
Bell 71'
Motm: Raphael Spiegel (MAN, 9.4, 10 saves)
Our Best: Josh Scowen (7.8)
We just couldn't beat Spiegel in goal no matter how hard we tried. The amount of chances we had was unbelievable. In the end Bell settled it after Ingram wrongly came out leaving a lot of space for the midfielder to slot the ball into the net. We used a 4-3-3 Holding today but lacked that cutting edge.
Sky Bet FL2 : Match 7
AFC Wimbledon 1-1 Wycombe
Tubbs 88'
Kretzschmar 81'
Motm: Max Kretzschmar (WYC, 8.3)
The 4-3-3 was used again this match and we had the same problem with our cutting edge in attack. We created the chances but couldn't convert them until Cowan-Hall dribbled along the end line into the box and pulled it back for Kretzschmar to score. Agonizingly Rowe and Scowen got in a mix-up at the front post and failed to deal with a cross. Tubbs was there to volley in from the six yard box leaving Ingram with no chance of saving it.
Sky Bet FL2: Match 8
Stevenage 0-2 Wycombe
P. Murphy 30' Evans 61'
Motm: Nathan Evans (WYC, 8.0)
Young Nathan Evans was immense today on the left wing. We dominated with our 4-1-2-1-2 wide and Peter Murphy headed in Evans' corner on 30 minutes. The game was sealed 30 minutes later when Evans' shot was deflected off Worley leaving the keeper no chance as he had already dived the other way.
Sky Bet FL2: Match 9
Wycombe 0-0 Bury
Motm: Pablo Mills (BRY, 7.7)
Our Best: Max Kretzschmar (7.5)
One of those frustrating games where you can't score no matter what you do. Bury didn't even have any shots! Whereas we had 9 with 5 on target.
Capital One Cup: Round 3
Shrewsbury 1-4 Wycombe
Vincent 58' Grandison 80' s/o
Walker 4' McClure 19' 72' 81' (Pen)
Motm: Matt McClure (WYC, 9.5)
A great performance by us. Hayes created the first goal with great dribbling and then hit the post. The clearance went up in the air and Walker headed the ball into an empty net. Hayes, unfortunately, a few minutes later broke his ankle when he landed heavily after jumping for a corner. His replacement McClure went on to score a hat trick. He headed in a Cowan-Hall cross at the back post, cut inside the defender before finishing coolly and then tucked away a penalty that he had won himself.
Paul Hayes will be out for 3 months with a broken ankle picked up early against Shrewsbury.
Sky Bet FL2: Match 10
Burton Albion 0-0 Wycombe
McCrory 83' s/o
Motm: Sam Wood (WYC, 7.5)
We dominated this game but the B Team didn't have their shooting boots as we missed chance after chance. McCrory was sent off late on for a second bookable offence.
Player of the Month
Peter Murphy
The 25 year old from Liverpool is this month's player of the month. He was an Accrington Stanley youth player and spent 6 years with the senior team before joining Wycombe on a free transfer in 2014. The midfielder anchored our middle third extremely well and was excellent in breaking up play and winning the ball back. He also grabbed a goal, an assist and, to cap it off, one MOTM award this month.

Jack Steer (England) - (GK, 53-67 Ovr, 81-94 Pot, 16): It is very possible that this kid could be better than both Ingram and Lynch. We will wait a few months to be sure however.
Lewis Lloyd (England) - (UNK, 43-53 Ovr, 71-89 Pot, 16): Lewis had a small potential drop from when we first scouted him but is still promising. His stats point towards a CB although it looks like he will he a RB/LB.
We have hired three scouts. The first is in England (I can't remember for how long.), the second in Scotland for 3 months looking for Physically Strong players and the third is in Northern Ireland for 3 months looking for Attackers. (I think, lol.)
October Fixtures
4/10 Newport County (h)
7/10 Hartlepool (h) (J. Paint Trophy)
11/10 York City (a)
18/10 Plymouth Argyle (h)
21/10 Luton Town (a)
25/10 Shrewsbury (h)
28/10 Aston Villa (a) (Capital One Cup)
This month we will be aiming to beat Newport and York and to progress in the J. Paint Trophy against Hartlepool. The next four games are extremely tough. Plymouth and Luton are the current top two so four points from those two games will suffice. Then Shrewsbury occupy the last playoff spot so we will be aiming to take all three points at home to them. To end the month we have a Round of 16 tie away at Villa Park where we will put up a fight but I don't expect to go through. Targeted Points: 13/15 and Progression in J. Paint Trophy.
Conclusion
Well, that was an up and down month. Unfortunately after five more games we have dropped down to 9th from 5th. We did however advance two rounds in the COC so that is an upside to the month. There was two goalless draws which were both disappointments and I felt we should have taken three points from both of those games. The loss to Mansfield was also a shock and again we should have done better. Wimbledon were tough but their goal was down to a defensive mistake which hurts even more. The win at Stevenage was good however. After this month I think we played our best football using the 4-1-2-1-2 Wide so that will be the main formation going forward. It was used in most of the games this month unless otherwise stated.
The players have seen a nice bit of growth which is pleasing. Although Matt McClure (59 Ovr, ST, 22) refused a contract extension last month and still won't and wants to move. I hope I can convince him to sign but if not we should get a nice bit of money for him in January.

Wage: $10,000 per week
Overall: 65
Position: Center Forward

MOTM Marrone
A hard fought game but they scored early and we were unable to overcome the challenge. Pogba got on the end of a Tevez cross and the French midfielder was never going to miss. The rest of the game was us passing the ball around trying to find an opening that was not there. Depay sprained his ankle and will be out for 3 weeks.
Copa Europe
Chelsea 0 - 1 Inter
Icardi 40'
MOTM De Gea
We didn’t play our strongest team because we have our first Serie A game of the season in two days time against Juventus, but we preformed well and came away with a good win. We had five new players making their debuts plus an other one that just came back from loan. All of them impressed me, but Layun and De Gea were the two stand out player of the new signings. Layun has an abundance of pace and stamina so we was up and down the left side of the pitch all game and defended Cuadrado brilliantly. De Gea made several key saves and kept a good clean sheet with 5 saves. Icardi scored a brilliant goal when he recieved his back to goal turned a defender and ball rolled around Courtois and then walked into the goal. Chelsea pressed a lot but their shots either went wide or De Gea was up to the challenge. Glad to win a trophy early in the season and give us a mental boost.
League Match
Juventus 1 - 6 Inter
Shaqiri 17'
Palacio 50'
Depay 75' 81' 83' 90'
Tevez (PEN) 88'
MOTM Depay
A HUGE win for us against Juventus, who will most likely be our biggest title rivals. The first half looked very even but in the second half we dominated. Shaqiri opened the scoring with a well struck free kick from the edge of the box that went perfectly to the bottom corner where Buffon only watched it go in. Palacio had the second goal when he was played over and he slid to just barely poke the ball past Buffon. Fifteen minutes before full time Depay received the ball and dribbled 3 defenders and then smashed it past Buffon to the back post. Depay got his second from a through ball and ended up 2v1 with the keeper and faked a pass across the goal and then pass it into the net. His third goal be just ran past the last defender and then struck a powerful shot past Buffon at his near post. Juventus would get one back when Tevez went 1v1 with Juan Jesus in the box who pulled him down for a penalty. We scored our final goal in the last minute after Depay was played through out wide and cut in to rifle the ball to the back post. Depay had a fantastic first game back from injury.
Buffon watching Shaqiri's free kick.
Serie A Table:
Champions League Group:
Starting Team:
Bench: Icardi (80), Carrillo (78), Kovacic (80), Can (75), Layun (76), Gabriel (79), Bardi (74)
“B” Team:
Bench: Armstrong (65), Shaqiri (82), Obi (72), Asamoah (81), Kim Young Gwon (73), Can (75), Bardi (74)
My Thoughts:
I was disappointed to lose the SuperCoppa, but I think we more than made up for it the season opener against Juventus. I was expecting a much closer game than what actually happened. Juve just fell apart in the second half and Depay went crazy. I was very happy with the result and that is now our biggest win since I took over. The game against Chelsea was much more difficult and I was happy to see our B Team beat them and the new recruits making an impact.
I can’t believe Barcelona bought another goalkeeper from us and for $100,000,000! They offered $35,000,000 and I countered for $100,000,000 and they accepted, I was amazed. I knew we could get a good replacement plus more and that is what we did. De Gea was excellent in his first two games and unless we receive another astronomical fee he will be staying. I wish we could have gotten him for less wages but he really didn't want to leave Manchester United and he was my number one target to replace Leno. Bernd Leno is now the most expensive goalkeeper in history, Buffon is closest with a fee of around $49,000,000.
This transfer window was about bolstering the squad so we can challenge on all fronts. David De Gea was the only player to go straight into the first team but the others will have chances to prove themselves. Also we sent our scout to scout for wingers in Italy.

Valencia CF
December 2014
Round of 32, 1st Leg
Valencia CF 4 - 0 CD Lugo
Piatti 5', Negredo 28', De Paul 62', Alcacer 87'
Simulated.
Granada CF 1 - 1 Valencia CF
Parejo OG 41'
Alcacer 22'
No way we just dropped two points against the second bottom team. I have no idea how we failed to do anything useful in the second half. Granada defended well and we weren't able to get past their fullbacks and centre backs. A very disappointing result.
Valencia CF 2 - 0 Rayo Vallecano
Negredo 37', Feghouli 72'
A routine win for us against another bottom three side. Rayo gave us a challenge at times put we were simply the team with more quality. Alvaro Negredo scored a tap in to put is into the lead and in the 72nd minute Sofiane Feghouli headed in the second goal.
Round of 32, 2nd Leg
CD Lugo (0) 0 - 1 (5) Valencia CF
Alcacer 82'
Simulated.
SD Eibar 1 - 1 Valencia CF
Capa 6'
Negredo 90'
It's official, we're suffering from the Chelsea/ManC/ManU syndrome of getting poor results against teams at the bottom. This time Eibar took the lead thanks to Capa's quick reaction to a rebounded shot. The Basque side then parked the bus and their keeper Xabier Irureta made a few impressive saves to keep them in the lead. Finally in stoppage time Alvaro Negredo finished a long passing move with a powerful shot into the bottom right corner. Another two points dropped.
Player of the Month
Alvaro Negredo
No one really had a very good month in December but after some thinking and comparing it was decided that Alvaro Negredo's two league goals and one cup goal in December were enough for him to be the Player of the Month.
La Liga Table
1. Valencia CF, 35 pts
2. Real Madrid, 34 pts
3. FC Barcelona, 32 pts
4. Villarreal CF, 29 pts
5. Athletic Bilbao, 27 pts
6. Getafe, 27 pts
--------------------------------------------------
18. Rayo Vallecano, 12 pts
19. Granada CF, 10 pts
20. SD Eibar, 10 pts
Transfer Targets
Sergio Rico
71 Ovr
Rico looks like a stupid target but I want to sign a permanent second-choice keeper and terminate Yoel's loan. Sergio Rico would be perfect for that. He's young, cheap, and he has some potential. He should cost under €3 million.
Vicente Iborra
78 Ovr
Iborra would the perfect CDM for the team. Javi Fuego is decreasing and he likes to get a bit forwards and meanwhile Geoffrey Kondogbia is way too attacking minded and he hasn't grown at all. I'll try to loan Kondogbia out and sell Fuego. Iborra would replace them in the starting eleven. He's strong, tall, good tackler, everything I want from a CDM. His price tag is somewhere around ten million.
Asier Illarramendi
79 Ovr
Another defensive-minded midfielder who's on my shortlist is Illarra. The young Spaniard has been out of favour at the Bernabeu and I think he would be an improvement in the middle of the pitch for us. If we want to sign him we need to pay about fifteen million.
Carlos Bacca
81 Ovr
I've mentioned a few times that I don't like Paco Alcacer at all. Now it's time to reveal his replacement targets. The first one, and the cheaper one, is Carlos Bacca, another player from Sevilla. He's a clinical finisher who has got a good combination of speed and strength. Ideally we would get him in a swap deal for free.
Jackson Martinez
83 Ovr
The other striker candidate is Jackson Martinez (who's also linked with Valencia irl). He's a bit better than Bacca and he's dominant in the air but he would be more expensive. His high wages would also be a problem. It would be amazing if we got him in a straight swap deal.
Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks for Reading!

Andre Carrillo

Wage: $100,000 per week
Overall: 78
Position: Right Wing

Adam Armstrong

Wage: $10,000 per week
Overall: 65
Position: Center Forward
Bought from Newcastle

SuperCoppa

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
By the way, what do you guys think about (some of) women's national teams being in FIFA 16? If I'm completely honest, I think it's pretty pointless. There are only about fifteen teams and you can't use them in game modes apart from kickoff and offline tournaments. I think it will cool to use them once or twice but it's not good enough from EA. Especially when this will probably be the only major change in FIFA 16 compared to 15. On top of that there are many things that EA need to fix first.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Allo, gents. Scandinavia has to be one of the most amazing places I've ever been. I loved Sweden, and now I'm in Norway. Absolutely brilliant place. Caught up with one of my old friends here in Bergen, and he took me to this cafe that serves the most incredible open-faced sandwiches. Must be 100 varieties, mostly involving some sort of seafood or cured meat.
Oh, and the women. MY GOD, the women.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
On another note, I have a question for you guys. In my career with Parma, I will be losing Alessandro Lucarelli (retiring), plus Francesco Lodi, Antonio Nocerino and Silvestre Varela (all on loan) at the end of the season. All of them are major players (15+ appearances in 18 games so far), and replacing them is going to be tough. I have another 2-3 signings that need to be made in the summer, so that's about 6-7 players I have to buy. I won't have takeover-level cash next season, so it's going to be tight.
My question: How many free transfers do you think are fair for me to make out of 6-7 signings, with 4 important players leaving for nothing at the end of the season?Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Glad to see you are liking Scandinavia! Enjoy yourself haha.
In relation to the women teams in '16. I think it is a good thing, but it should have been down the list of priorities. Things like the Youth Academy, transfers etc. Need to be fixed first.Comment
