I honestly don't know who would be a target for the position.

Indeed. Carlito didn't plan on using Morata and I think it's better for both him and the club that he joined Juventus but that leaves RM without a backup striker. Like you said Pogba is far away from what we need and Verratti... well, he's a good player with lots of potential but he really isn't that kind of a destroyer DM from what I've seen. He's more like a creative DM who works well with someone next to him (like Thiago Motta at PSG). Illarra is an alright player but he is not good enough to be a starter. Meanwhile Silva hasn't made an appearance since the Schalke games in February if I'm not mistaken. He looked okay, nothing too special but he's not good enough to be a starter, as well. I still don't understand why Alonso was sold.

Kroos was converted into a CDM because he was the best option Ancelotti had. Modric isn't really that strong and he likes to get forward more than Kroos and James and Isco are very attacking.

Looks to me like an attacking midfielder needs to go. Alonso was cast aside wrongly IMO.

Technically an attacking midfielder should go but there really isn't anyone who wants to leave or who would help the team by leaving. James is world class, Modric is the most important player of the team and Isco is a good rotational player. Maybe Kroos could be sold but he's one of the best central midfielders in the world. The easiest decision would be to sell Bale, move James to the right, play a 4-3-3 with Kroos and Modric as CM's and sign a good CDM but knowing Benitez and Perez that isn't happening.

To your question about who would be good: players like Busquets, Krychowiak and Matic. CDM's who sit in front of the defence doing the dirty work but who are also strong and good at passing the ball.

I don't see Bale leaving until maybe next season if he has another poor one. Although it would make sense to fit in all the players.

I know who would be good I just didn't phrase it right I guess. I don't know who would be available. Matic is gonna stay at Chelsea, Busquets wouldn't leave for Real. The Sevilla lad could be an option.

I also don't see Bale leaving. Yes, he had a poor season but I don't think it's enough to sell him without any patience. After all he had a very good season during the last (2013-14) campaign. Hopefully he can find his form, finishing abilities and confidence again. He should also get a new haircut because that could be affecting him.

Ah, cool. Yeah, I know that Matic and Busquets won't join in a million years but I just used them as good examples of a perfect DM for Real. I'm very worried about the fact that we haven't been linked with a single DM, though. The only central midfielders I've seen in rumours are Pogba and Verratti. Hopefully Perez makes the right moves this time.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

texasbum Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoy the Russian careers, as I really enjoy playing them. Rubin Kazan is my joint-favorite team along with Zenit St. Petersburg, so this should be a fun one. Also looking forward to your Portsmouth career. They had a really good team a few years back, and it was a shame how far they fell. I'm looking forward to you getting them back to glory.

Keano Yeah, the squad has some work to do as Rubin definitely isn't as quality a side as they used to be. Plus, the team is pretty old. 6 of my Starting Xi are at least 30 years old. Mogilevets really doesn't deserve a starting role, but because of the Russian rule, I have to play him.

Btw, here's one of my favorite Rubin moments. An Alexander Ryazantsev laser shot against Barcelona in the 2009 Champions League.

                  SEASON REVIEW

                  • Juventus late surge wins title with 80 points
                  • Roma just behind on goal difference
                  • Lazio seal third CL spot with 77 points
                  • Parma, Inter qualify for Europa League
                  • Chievo, Verona, Cesena relegated
                  • Zaza named capocannoniere with 23 goals
                  • Varela tops chart with 17 assists
                  • Chelsea, PSG, Dortmund, Barcelona win titles
                  • Chelsea, Sevilla win European trophies

Wow, what a season! By the end of 2014, it looked pretty obvious that we were going to be challenging for the title. We had a fairly firm grasp on the top spot until April, but the losses to Inter and Juventus pushed us further back than we wanted to go. That blowout loss to Lazio pretty much ended our chances of a title, giving Roma and Juventus the freedom to battle it out. I must say I'm impressed with Juve's late form, as they won all of their last 12 games to come back from a poor start to the season and lift that lovely trophy. Roma can feel annoyed at losing on goal difference, because they were every bit as good as Juventus. While it would have been nice to finish third and make the Champions League, we're happy with qualifying for the Europa League. Running all the way to the final of the Coppa Italia was a nice surprise, and even though we lost to Juventus in the main event, I'm pleased with our effort. I thought we played patiently, but perhaps not just patient enough. And there's no doubt that Juve beat us in quality across the pitch, so we can be proud of our achievements.

This summer, we have three free transfers coming in to bolster our team in preparation for a European campaign. In addition, we'll need to sign another three or four players for depth and strength. Since we hired a top-notch youth scout, I doubt the board will give us much money to work with. If my estimate is right, we should get around €7.5 million from the board, plus €5 million more from selling the deadwood coming back from loan. I'll obviously need to navigate the loan and free agent markets to make the most of the funds at my disposal. There may also be a few surprise departures if I feel we need funds, though a few names are fairly certain to be moved on.

You were on a really good run of form, like you said, until around April/May when you started to drop off a bit. Maybe it was a little bit of fatigue. Zaza and Varela had very good seasons. Its a shame that Varela was only on loan. Ben Yedder also netted quite a few as well. I was just going to ask how much Boga played after you bought him in January. Two on a debut ain't bad. He's not been playing bad with Chelsea on their postseason tour. Scored a couple of times I believe and assisted one or two as well. What's his position on the game? I think he was playing as one of the three behind the strikes IRL. Now I'm eager to find out who your pre-contract players are! Get that update out ASAP!

@Moose - Good performance against Ajax to do everything you had to do and luckily Bayern beat Saint-Etienne and a nice win against Everton. Dybala is very good for you!

@Bluey - I'm really looking forward into the Hull career! Hopefully it will be as successful as your Inter one.

@Southern - Rubin have an interesting team with many old players and with some poor youngsters. It'll be interesting to see what you are able to do with them. I'm looking forward to this career, as well.

@Tex - Your five-year plans are always interesting and I think that you should have one for every career. It becomes more interesting for everyone, I think. Good luck with Pompey!

Has anyone had freezing issues on 15?

It froze the second game I've played, and 14 has never froze on me.

Selling Barnetta and Boateng - Well, to be honest, selling Barnetta was a obvious move. He was not happy here and he wasn't fitting into my plans, so I had to let him go. Selling Boateng was quite difficult, yet I figured that thinking towards the future, it is a good move.

Bernard, Carvalho and Khedira - So, since things haven't exactly clicked, I decided to make a few tactical changes and bring in the pieces that I believe will be useful. Bernard wasn't my first idea, since I would have wanted Douglas Costa, Mkhitaryan or Firmino, yet I couldn't get hold of them. Instead, I took the youngest version of them all, who is a great dribbler and pretty quick on the ball.

Now, since I got rid of Boateng, I knew instantly I needed a replacement. So something clicked in my head. Knowing that neither Jamie and Regens went for him, I decided to think ahead just a bit, and sign Sami Khedira on a free contract, meaning that I will have a very strong midfielder next season, a lot better than Boateng.

However, I still needed someone currently, so I saw that Carvalho was not happy at Sporting. I decided to go for him and I got him, which meant that I have now 2 very young pieces in CDM (Höger and Carvalho) and a very experienced one on his way in soon.

Thanks for the read, I hope you enjoyed it. Take care !

Two good young midfielders you got there. Both are fairly high in Ovr for their age so should have plenty of room to grow. Khedira was a great pre-contract signing too. Should definitely upgrade your midfield. £16m was a good price for Boateng, good 1-0 against Hannover to get three points.

Very nice and interesting signings! Well, except for Khedira. He's sh*t and I'm very disappointed in you. Anyway, Bernard has a high potential and he could be great for you with that speed and dribbling. Carvalho is a good and talented CDM who should also do well.

You are wrong. Khedira is an excellent player, plagued by injuries who has continually been played in the wrong position by Ancelotti in a system that doesn't suit him. It seem quite narrow minded to call him **** when he was excellent under Mourinho for you guys.
