Hey guys I'm back haven't played much FIFA. Had not even done a whole season on 2k15 basketball so trying one with celtics now about half way through season. Will be getting back to FIFA this week. Some unfinished business with Roma before I go to Bundes in Germany or Barclays. But I got one question, I know it's been discussed before but how many of you all are getting FIFA 16. The news and features have been so quiet and quite frankly confusing to me. Jury still out for me on this no touch stuff.

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
The good ol' midichlorians that nobody hates, I mean nobody. It's actually very interesting how (according to a few non-canon anymore sources Anakin was created because of Darth Plagui... Plaegu... Plaguei... that guy's experiments. Technically a pre-Vader Sith made the prophecy come true. Indi's theory is interesting but I'm going with Chico and the movies on this one.
This is pretty interesting so let's have a bit of a discussion.
1. What is the best SW movie in your opinion?
2. What's the worst?
3. Who's your favourite character?
4. Who's your least favourite character?
5. What is your favourite lightsaber battle?
Also, we are totally Star Wars geeks but there's no shame in that haha
I'm not sure it's really canon/non-canon though since Palpatine told Anakin about Darth Plagueis in Revenge of The Sith at the theatre so it was mentioned in the movies. Crazy how the work of Darth Plagueis is ironically what lured Anakin to the Dark Side, thinking that if Plagueis could stop people from dying by using the Force like Palpatine said he could save Padme from dying.
Aw man don't ask me to pinpoint the worst movie! Even finding the worst character is hard for me. Simppu with your questions, you're going down a path I can't follow. hehe
1. This is between Revenge of The Sith and Empire Strikes Back for me. Personally, I would say Revenge because I can watch that movie over and over again nonstop. However, I think Empire is overall the best movie because it is the climax of the OT. The war against the empire was at its peak and you also get one of the biggest twists in cinematic history: Vader is Luke's father.
2. Difficult to say which is the worst. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
3. Anakin man hands down. He may have come off as a whiny little bit**, but ultimately he is Star Wars. Chewbacca is a close second though.
4. I'll have to watch the movies again to find a least favorite character. I remember Leia was a bit annoying at times though lol.
5. Mustafar! You already know my reasons why. The duel against Darth Maul was intense though especially since there was a lot of new stuff. The pace, since we were used to very slow lightsaber battles in the OT, and the double lightsaber for example.
Hell yeah! What a time to be alive am I right?!
Hahaha. I think you'll have to watch them again for a refresher man!
I don't know man. Disney has made some good non-animated movies. Didn't they do the Avengers or am I thinking of something else? I am incredibly excited about Disney's plans for Star Wars I am so glad somebody finally decided to light the fire again.

We started the month with a solid 2-0 away victory at Hoffenheim, a mid take side that simply couldn't break us down, not appeased by a red card at the beginning of the 2nd half.
uploadfromtaptalk1436256989487.jpg
The Schalke game was much easier than I anticipated, with me having to field my B Team against the 4th placed side. The youngsters shone again, and we walked away with all 3 points rather easily.
uploadfromtaptalk1436257191564.jpg
Next was faced the return leg against PSG. The first goalless, I fancied our chances at home, but we were dumped out of the competition at the round 16 stage for the 2nd season running thanks to Diego Costa's close range finish
We quickly followed the disappointment up with a nervy 1-0 win in Freiburg, scraping past the 12th placed side thanks to a sole goal from christoph Kramer.
uploadfromtaptalk1436257405702.jpg
This was a frustrating game, as we played really well but couldn't get the win over the former league leaders. Kramer again showed his class, but Benzema's equaliser as a result of a defensive mishap was annoying. It was great chance to make even more ground up on the top 2, although as you can see we are now serious title contenders
uploadfromtaptalk1436257579379.jpg
As disappointing as being knocked out of the champions league was, we have now the opportunity to focus on the league alone, and try and push for that illusive title. Trophies have been significantly lacking thus far, with UCL qualification always the priority. Now is our chance.
In our final 6 games we face 3 of top 7, including Bayern Munich on the penultimate weekend of the season, but also 3 of the bottom 4
We are 10 points clear of 4th, so with 3 more wins UCL football will be ours next season.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy, and the next update will be an end of season one, showing whether we achieved that Bundesliga title!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Interesting theory, however I must respectively disagree in that Luke was the Chosen One. Although, as you said, he played a major part in bringing back Anakin (destroying Vader in a way), the Chosen One is Anakin. Anakin destroyed the Sith by killing Palpatine, Luke played only supporting role in that. With that theory you could also say something like Obi-Wan was the Chosen One. Without his existence, Anakin wouldn't have been trained and become a Jedi in the first place, and also Luke wouldn't have been introduced to the Force either. Had it not been for Obi-Wan Luke wouldn't have been on the Death Star to bring Anakin back to the Light Side and then have him kill Sidious. You get what I mean? I know it's exaggerated but I'm just trying to explain my thought on that. The prophecy describes the Chosen One as "a vessel of pure Force." Remember that Anakin was conceived by the Midi-chlorians. He did not have a father but was created by the Force, thanks to Darth Plagueis' experiment. Anakin is pure force, while Luke was conceived... Naturally I guess. And, putting all of this aside, George Lucas has stated that Anakin is the Chosen One. Star Wars is Anakin's story.
That's because we are. And proud of it!
2. Revenge of the Sith dealt with Anakin's descent into evil pretty poorly, but Attack of the Clones gave me absolutely no joy beyond seeing Yoda fight, so I pick Episode II.
3. Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn. Ask me to choose and I will find you and I will kill you, motherfu*ker.
4. Everyone hates Jar-Jar, but I didn't find him worth the effort. Palpatine is the obvious choice for most people. But for me, the one to hate has always been Jabba. Sebulba was also pretty memorable for being downright scum.
5. Yoda vs. Count Dooku in Attack of the Clones had the sheer novelty of seeing the little guy kick butt for the first time. Luke vs. Vader when he loses his hand showed Vader's absolute consumption by the Dark Side, which makes his redemption even more powerful.
Your year isn't shaping up very well, is it?
At this point, I wouldn't trust Lucas Arts with it either. It was never supposed to happen, so I have no faith in it. Even the trailer felt supremely artificial and manufactured.Comment

Season 1 (2014/15)
March
SkyBet League 2 Match
AFC – Foley 77’ Purdy 90’
Bee’s team held out well in the first half with the best chance going to Danny Rose of Bury who should have chipped the keeper but he decided to smash it into the keeper’s hands. After some great physical battles and mental fatigue, a clearance is sliced into the air where Bury defender, Nathan Cameron tries to take a touch but the ball’s stolen by Eric Foley who can guide it into the net for a well deserved first goal to Athlone and Bee! Daniel Purdy is put up front for the counter attack and that’s exactly what happens in the ninetieth minute as he nicks the ball off of the last defender before chipping the keeper who hadn’t stayed on his line. The celebration is a massive huddle of players with Bee and Purdy in the middle.
MOTM: Daniel Purdy (7.3, AFC)
Daniel Purdy and Eric Foley both scored their first goals of the season. Athlone haven’t scored more than one goal in a match in fifteen games until now
Results of the remaining bottom five:Newport County 2– Burton Albion 1
Cambridge United 1 – Accrington Stanley 1Stevenage 1 – York City 1Morecambe 0 – Plymouth Argyle 1
A team in bold is a team in the bottom fiveAthlone Town | 1 – 0 | Newport County
SkyBet League 2 Match
AFC – Foley 52’
This is an even bigger game than the last because Newport are one place above Athlone in the league and if they win, they increase the point gap to nine. If Athlone win, they’re only three points away from moving up the league and one step closer to getting out of the relegation zone. Gary Burke cuts in onto his left foot to curl a beauty of a cross into the middle for Eric Foley who guides the ball onto the post before going in.
MOTM: Ian Sweeney (7.0, AFC)
It’s the first time this season that Athlone have won two games in a row.
Results of the remaining bottom five:
Cambridge United 0 – Bury 0Accrington Stanley 0 – York City 2Hartlepool 4 – Mansfield Town 1
A team in bold is a team in the bottom fiveWycombe | 0 – 0 | Athlone Town
SkyBet League 2 Match
WYC – Doherty (RED) 35’AFC – Foley (RED) 59’
Daniel Purdy tackles Gary Doherty just outside the penalty area. Doherty responds by pulling Purdy back. Purdy breaks free and runs through on goal but the play is stopped and the referee gives a red card and a free-kick. Bee goes ballistic on the touchline because Purdy was through on goal. The resulting free-kick smashes the upright but questions will be asked after the game about that poor decision... The already-booked Eric Foley slides in and catches Aaron Pierre. Foley gets his second yellow and it’s now ten men against ten. Philip Gorman has a great chance in the last minute but a great save by Matt Ingram keeps him out from close range. That poor decision by the ref really did make a massive difference to Bee and he could even get relegated due to the decision.
After a one-nil win at Shrewsbury, Hartlepool have secured promotion.
Results of the remaining bottom five:Newport County 1 – Portsmouth 1
York City 2 – Cambridge United 1Southend United 3 – Accrington Stanley 1
Mansfield Town 1 – Cheltenham Town 1Cambridge Utd | 1 – 1 | Athlone Town
SkyBet League 2 Match
CAM – Slew 19’AFC – Brady 70’
It’s another important game with only five points between the teams. If Athlone win, they have a real chance of getting out of the relegation zone. Ryan Donaldson passes the ball to Jordan Slew who manages to break through the Althone defence and burst into the box where he toe-pokes the ball past the keeper at his near post to give Cambridge the lead. A one-two with John Mulroy allows Garreth Brady though on goal and he manages to get the ball out of his feet and smash it past the keeper with his weaker left foot.
MOTM: Ian Sweeney (9.3, AFC)
Ian Sweeney made the most tackles out of anyone on the pitch.
Results of the remaining bottom five:Mansfield Town 0 – Newport County 2
Accrington Stanley 0 – Portsmouth 1
SkyBet League 2 Match
Athlone Town | 2 – 1 | AFC WimbledonAFC – Burke 15’ Chindea 80’WIM – Azeez 82’
Gary Burke receives the ball from Roddy Collins and sprints down the right wing. He manages to cut in and find enough space to unleash a swerving shot into the far corner. Eric Foley spots Marco Chindea in the box. Chindea takes a touch before slotting the ball past the keeper’s leg and into the bottom corner. Adebayo Azeez intercepts a pass from Michael Brown and he manages to get past a challenge by Aidan Collins before slotting the ball into the corner for a conciliation goal.
MOTM: Eric Foley (8.0, AFC)
Gary Burke becomes our top goal scorer with eight.

Athlone’s Player of the Month Goes To:
Eric Foley
Our most prominent player has been Eric Foley. He scored in the first two games then get sent off and the last game of the month found him providing an assist for the winning goal.
Manager’s Thoughts:
The team has performed to the best of their ability during my opening month as manager. If we continue like we did at the start of the month, then it won’t take long until we are out of the relegation zone.
Our forwards have not been performing very well up front. Marco Chindea plays best on the left. Philip Gorman has not had too much game time, but he’s been looking sluggish and is easily tackled. I gave Sam O’Connor a chance in the last game but our goals still are coming from midfield (mainly Eric Foley). Dean Ebbe has not yet been given a chance but I look forward to seeing what he can provide for is in the coming months.
Eric Foley looks like our key player to keep us out of the relegation zone so I hope he can sustain the amount of goals he’s been scoring this month whilst avoiding any other red cards. Despite Ian Sweeney being listed as a central attacking midfielder, he comes into his own as a central defensive midfielder. He’s been our main asset in defence and that’s why we have only conceded two in five games.
Next month’s fixtures look promising with expected wins over Morecambe, our soon-to-be rivals Cheltenham, and Accrington.
Fixtures in April:
04/04: Oxford United (H)11/04: Morecambe (A)18/04: Cheltenham Town (A)25/04: Accrington (H)Hope you enjoyed my update! Feel free to comment. Is everything up to standard?

SEASON 1

Match 34
Liverpool 2-0 QPR
Moreno 6
Sterling 47
Match 35
Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool
Sturridge 23
Matic 27
Sturridge 45
Remy 58
This was a result that leaves us level on points with the opposition and leads us to a nervy season finale. Sturridge gave us the lead, tapping in from close range from a ball across goal by Coutinho. Matic equalised soon after, slotting into the corner from the edge of the box after outstrengthing our defenders. Balotelli forced a good save from Courtois before Sturridge gave us the lead again, smashing into the top corner after beating Terry with his pace. Remy equalised again through a simple header that looped over Leno. The rest of the match was dull as Chelsea parked the bus.
Match 36
Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace
Balotelli 30
Sturridge 50
Coutinho 63
Sterling 90
What a result! I expected a tougher game than this, and this result has pushed the belief back in me that we won't bottle it. Coutinho missed a great chance, curling just wide of the post. We took the lead through a Balotelli header, powering it in from Sterling's cross. Otamendi came close, heading just wide from a corner before Bolasie smashed over the bar. We made it 2 with a great goal by Strurridge, placing the ball into the far corner with his right foot from the edge of the box. Coutinho got the third, racing into the box beating 3 players before stroking it into the bottom corner. Sterling made it 4, receiving the ball in the area before calmly firing into the bottom left. That result secures Champions League football for us next season.
Match 37
Liverpool 0-2 Newcastle
Cisse 20
Riviere 31
Leno made 2 saves early on, stopping a Sissoko header and a Riviere strike. Unfortunately he couldn't stop Cisse's powerful effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Riviere made it 2, heading into the roof of the net from a Sissoko cross. We only forced Krul into one good save, Lallana firing the ball into what seemed like a certain goal, but Krul got a hand to it and managed to hold it.
Match 38
Stoke 2-0 Liverpool
Walters 4
Bojan 55
We bottled it. I can't believe it. How did we lose out on the title after being on top for the majority of the season? Walters got an early goal, tapping in after a ball across goal. Sterling fired just wide and Begovic stopped Sturridge in his tracks. The Bojan scored, curling into the bottom corner. Sterling hit the post and Begovic stopped a powerful volley from Balotelli. We lost. And the worst thing about it, so did Man Utd, but they still won the league. And to make it even worse, we drop to 4th place for the final standings. From 1st to 4th in 2 games.
Champions League Final
Real Madrid - Liverpool
The first chance of this final came to the Spanish giants, Kroos firing just wide of the post. Coutinho hit the side netting with a curling effort, before Balotelli forced an excellent save from Casillas. Ronaldo hit the post with a free kick, the ball being sliced away by Nkoulou frantically. Kovacic fired wide with a long range effort, the ball flying just past the angle between post and bar. In the second half, Modric fired a ball just past the post as Real attacked. We hit them on the counter, leaving Sturridge one-on-one but he put the ball wide. Pepe headed a ball over the bar from a corner as the game came to close. Balotelli then hit a shot from the centre circle that struck the bar. In the 90th minute, Butland became a hero, stopping James' strike and then the rebound smashing off the post.
The match went to extra time, and we took an early lead. Sturridge played the ball to Balotelli, who backheeled it through the defence for Sterling to run on and fire in. Isco equalised, heading in from Ronaldo's good cross. Sterling gave us the lead again, running onto Sturridge's over the top ball and placing it into the bottom corner with remarkable composure. Butland made a great save to deny Benzema, but he couldn't stop Isco's strike into the top corner to take it to penalties.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Hull City
Season 1
February 2015
Objectives:
The league objective is to avoid relegation.
The Domestic Cup objective is to reach the Round of 32.
League Match
Manchester City 0 - 0 Hull City
MOTM Saul
A boring match in a game that we played for a tie against the league leaders. We just held on to the ball for as long as possible and we ended the game with 74% possession. Saul was excellent this game in breaking up play and switching the ball from one side to the other. There really was no highlights in this game as both teams were solid defensively and held each other to long shots.
League Match
Hull City 1 - 0 Aston Villa
Hernandez (PEN) 25'
MOTM Begovic
Our B Team played really well in this game and if not for a fantastic goalkeeper Aston Villa may have lost by three or four goals. Pritchard was the man that was fouled to earn the penalty. Begovic had made an amazing save but the rebound went straight to Pritchard and as he was shooting into the open goal a Villa defender slid into him. Hernandez was able to put the penalty away though and that's what matters.
Hernandez's shot.
League Match
Hull City 2 - 1 Newcastle
Cabella 7'
Huddlestone 75'
Coman 90'
MOTM Huddlestone
Again we played our B Team because of our FA Cup game against Liverpool in three days. We had a shaky start, conceding early because of miscommunication between left back Joe Dudgeon and Butland allowing Remy Cabella to have an easy tap in. Newcastle was all over us for the first half, but at halftime I subbed Huddlestone on for Hyndman and he changed the game for us. In the 75' Huddlestone was on the ball and from at least 30 yards out let fly, his shot went over Elliot and into the net just under the bar. In the 80' Kingsley Coman was subbed on for Munir. He was the difference and scored the winning goal just before stoppage time and all we had to do was defend for three more minutes.
Huddlestone's goal.
FA Cup
Liverpool 1 - 1 Hull City
Elmohamady 18'
Johnson 72'
MOTM Butland
Yet again we will have to play a replay! Liverpool was dominant but had poor finishing and we relied on counter attacking all game. We scored first when a corner kick was cleared out of the box by Liverpool and it fell to Elmohamady who took a touch and struck the ball from a good distance, it was probably the right back's best ever goal. Butland was phenomenal all game but was beaten in the 72' by Liverpools right back Glen Johnson. Henderson crossed in a set piece and the Dawson cleared the ball right into Johnson's stomach and it fell for him to just pass the ball into the net.
Elmohamady's goal.
League Match
Stoke 0 - 0 Hull City
MOTM Douglas
A boring match with very few chances and no noteworthy ones. Munir tore his hamstring and will be out for two months.
Table:
My Thoughts:
We had some close games this month but no losses which is always good. Munir's injury means that Coman will have a chance to start some matches. I won manager of the month this month and I am honored to have been chosen, a little surprised that it came in this month but nonetheless I'm quite happy.
The league table is pretty tight besides Manchester City being so far ahead, which surprises me I didn’t think they were THAT good when we played them. I don’t think anybody will catch them and the will most likely end up with the title.
Future Fixtures:
Liverpool (H) - FA Cup
Sunderland (H) - League
QPR (H) - League
Leicester (A) - League
Chelsea (H) - League

Wow what a final! Scoreless in regular time and then suddenly 4 goals between you two in just 30 minutes. The penalty shootout had even more drama to it than the extra time. You took the early lead, only to let it slip with your miss, but then you finally put it away with that Ramos miss. What a way to finish it. Ending just 3 points shy in the league put you so close to an absolutely spectacular year. Gives you that extra bit to strive for next season though. Congrats once again though on creating your own Istanbul moment.Comment

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
August 2018 - Season 5
FIFA 15 (PS4)
Transfer Window
Transfers Out
CDM - Nono (Spain) (68 OVR 25yrs)
Loaned to FC Barcelona B
Nono returns to Liga Adelante for another season but will have the opportunity to play amongst Barcelona's youth players. Since joining Osasuna from Real Betis he's had an uphill struggle trying to grow as a footballer and the staff are doing everything they can to facilitate his road back to confidence. It is all up to the player now.
*July Transfers Out
SpoilerLM - Isma Lopez (Spain) (76 OVR 28yrs)
Sold to Getafe CF for $6.5m
Getafe seemed like the perfect club for him to go to. Upper mid table, and after scouting their team I noticed they are in need of wingers. He should be a starter for them and I look forward to playing against him. On behalf of Osasuna, I wish him the best and thank him for his contribution to a fantastic season last year.
CB - Miguel Flaño (Spain) (70 OVR 33yrs) (-1)
Sold to Eint. Frankfurt for $1.4m
This was a surprise. I really was not planning on selling him nor was I expecting to even receive an offer for him. I would have declined the offer and waited for him to retire with us, but since the beginning of this season his morale status has been unhappy with the statement "management is poor." The captain may not have been happy with being demoted to the B-Team last year and that may be where his unhappiness is coming from. His value is $925k and Frankfurt came with a big offer so they must plan on using him in their starting lineup. He was on a $45k salary with us and a 3 year contract but he actually accepted to take a pay cut to $20k and sign only a one year contract with Frankfurt. When I saw what they had offered him I thought he would decline, I was willing to keep him anyway, but he actually accepted their terms which again may have been because he was no longer happy here. I wish him the best. He was an Osasuna player for 14 years, and I will always consider him our captain.
LM - Julian Luque (Spain) (70 OVR 26yrs)
Sold to Real Betis for $2.0m
An important player for us in Liga Adelante but he was never able to keep up with the competition level in La Liga. The talent is there, because there were matches where he would be very dangerous with long shots from the middle of the field, but he wasn't consistent enough. He has a Champions League medal to show, and now his new challenge will be to help Real Betis fight for survival in La Liga after just being promoted.
CB - Unai Garcia (Spain) (65 OVR 25yrs)
Sold to RC Recreativo for $575k
Loaned Out
*GK - Eriq Lisch (United States) (74 OVR 18yrs)
Loaned to West Ham
I'm positive Moose will be able to help our youth goalkeeper develop and I have no doubt Lisch will repay him with solid performances in goal.
CB - Iñigo De Frutos (Spain) (68 OVR 23yrs)
Loaned to Racing Santander
*CDM - Eñaut Gabbiadini (Spain) (66 OVR 18yrs)
Loaned to Borussia Dortmund
A fantastic opportunity for our youth graduate who will be able to learn firsthand from some of Germany's top players. Excited to see in what shape he comes back.
CAM - Jose Garcia (Spain) (63 OVR 21yrs)
Loaned to Deportivo Alaves
*ST - Roussillon Murnane (Spain) (61 OVR 19yrs)
Loaned to Brøndby IF
Top 3 Transfers
1. Giovanni Dos Santos (Villarreal --> PSG) $37m
2. Lukaku (Everton --> Juventus) $35m
3. Cuadrado (Fiorentina --> Real Madrid) $33.5m
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RCD Espanyol 2 - 3 CA Osasuna
RCD: Bifouma 42' Williams 48'
OSA: Guillermo 45' 52' Palacios 83'
Osasuna's season opener was really complicated, but at least they gave an exciting match against a competitive Espanyol led by Mexico's Hector Moreno. Los Rojillos fielded the same 4-3-3 Holding used in the preseason by the First Team, with Romeu at LW but this time Ivan appearing at RB instead of Sisi. The Catalans took the lead first with Bifouma putting the ball past Rodriguez with a header, but the Basques responded right away just 3 minutes later. Osasuna had been very dull in attack, and Ulises Davila cut inside the box from the right wing to take a powerful low shot on goal. The goalkeeper parried it and sent it to a corner kick. Torres took the corner kick and put it close to the near post where Guillermo got his head to it and equalized the match!
Osasuna's first goal of the season scored by the very same player that scored the last goal of last season. Not only that, but this was also Guillermo's 101st goal in his Osasuna career! - In official matches - We went to halftime expecting the players to cool down in the break, but they came out and continued to play the same tempo. Williams took a strong shot inside the box and scored just 3 minutes into the second half to put Espanyol back in the lead, but Guillermo replied again just 4 minutes later! Ivan had overlapped from RB and put in a perfect cross for Guillermo to head and the star striker did exactly that. The header was taken at a short distance from the goal which made it difficult for the goalkeeper to save. It was all equal again!
Both teams slowed down after the goal, with both managers realizing that going toe to toe was a coin toss. Later on in the second half Chavez took out Romeu, who had contributed little on the field, and replaced him with Palacios at LW. The striker had a huge impact as his chemistry with Guillermo reignited and Guillermo's pass left him in a perfect scoring opportunity inside the box. Palacios had trouble controlling the pass and we thought it would be tackled away, but he slid in to be able to take his shot and he put it opposite of the keeper's dive. Osasuna had taken the lead for the first time!
Espanyol had seven minutes to get back into the match, but Osasuna held up shop well. One of the key players in holding the lead was the CB Pedro Bigas, who was brought on in the second half to replace Sergi Darder at CDM. The centre back did a wonderful job in his former position and was key in holding the midfield.
CA Osasuna 2 - 0 Real Sociedad
OSA: Guillermo 65' Torres PEN 78'
We were so used to seeing Sociedad-Osasuna matches end 0-0, but this is already the second time in a row that Osasuna take the victory! Chavez repeated the same lineup and saw similar results. Romeu continued to be invisible at LW, but the team as a whole dominated possession. The stalemate was finally broken in the 65th minute when Romeu received a pass from midfield with his back to the box but he quickly turned and sent Guillermo a first touch lob pass. Guillermo brought the ball down with great control, sprinted into the box and then powered the ball into the back of the net past Geronimo Rulli.
Real Sociedad pushed to equalize and had a great chance to do so during a corner kick. They were able to head the ball towards goal but Rodriguez jumped up and caught the ball out of the air before it reached the net. Rodriguez took a quick look up and then kicked the ball forward to Romeu on the left wing. Romeu lost his marker when he brought the ball down, and although he's not very fast he was able to sprint past Sociedad's last man and he was off with a dangerous counter attack! He sprinted all the way to the box and crossed the ball looking for second half sub Santana, but his pursuer took him down with a slide tackle right after the ball left his feet. The referee immediately called the foul without thinking twice and awarded Osasuna a penalty. Roberto Torres took the penalty and even though Rulli dove the correct way, Torres' shot was hit too hard and placed too well for him to reach.
Osasuna held the lead without any more complications and have put together their second win in a row.
Copa Europe - Final
CA Osasuna vs Trabzonpor
Osasuna's second consecutive Copa Europe Final but the first as the UCL Champions. At first we had been informed that the B-Team would play this match, given the fact that Trabzonpor isn't very well known and the Turkish League isn't considered very competitive compared to others, but in the end it was the First Team that stepped onto the field. Trabzonpor may not be a club we've all heard of, but they did defeat Manchester United in the Europa League final last season and they could be on the rise making a name for themselves.
Spoiler
CA Osasuna 1 - 0 Trabzonpor
OSA: Guillermo 17'
The Turks had quite a surprise in stock for Osasuna fans as they went toe to toe with the Basque club and always threatened to score. The Spaniards took the lead in the seventeenth minute after Ulises Davila showed off his ball skills on the right wing and then put in a dangerous low cross which Guillermo was able to get to and head wonderfully.
Guillermo kept the goalkeeper on his toes the rest of the match and came very close to completing his brace several times, but the woodwork was always there to save the goalkeeper. The 1-0 scoreline did not seem to be permanent given the way both teams were playing and we were absolutely sure one or the other would score again, but in the end neither was able to put the ball in the net and Osasuna lifted the cup. This is Los Rojillos' first ever Copa Europe!
CA Osasuna Player of The Month
ST - Guillermo (Spain) (82 OVR 25yrs) (+1)
This was a no-brainer. The first POTM award goes to Guillermo who established himself as the team's top scorer again and showed that he's still in form. Osasuna have high ambitions for this season and he will be key in achieving them. Osasuna fans are also expecting him to finally become a regular with the Spanish NT this season.
Youth Academy
No New Additions
SpoilerAntonio Lopes - LB (Spain) (58-62, 78-84) (+19): Lopes is the first and only LB in the academy and of course the club has high hopes as it is a position that the senior team lacks depth in. The current first team LB is Sisi who is naturally a RM and is reaching his mid thirties. Lopes is only 15 and stands at 5'2" but is described as a Winger, which leads us to believe that he will be an attacking fullback.
Ivan Miranda - LW (Spain) (66-70, 81-87) (+2): The 17 year old has decided that the wing is where he is most comfortable with, and is a candidate for promotion in the future. He is quite short, standing at 5'9", but that isn't a problem since we will need him for speed not necessarily for his aerial ability.
*Jose Ramirez - RM (Spain) (63-67, 78-84) (+7):
- 16 years old
- 5'7"
- Winger
UEFA Champions League
Osasuna are ready to defend their Champions League title and even though the board is happy with simply participating in the cup Chavez and his staff will want a lot more than that. The competition kicks off next month and the road to the final will not be an easy one. Last year Osasuna just barely made it out of the group stage and this year they have been drawn in Group F, a group with very competitive teams. The Basques share the group with FC Basel from Switzerland, the Italians AC Milan, and the historically successful English side Liverpool. AC Milan will be Osasuna's first opponent.
Champions League - Group F
1. CA Osasuna - 0 points
2. Liverpool - 0 points
3. AC Milan - 0 points
4. FC Basel - 0 points
Conclusion
Very happy with our start to the season and I am really confident that this will indeed be our year. By defeating Trabzonpor we have conquered all European competitions available. Now we just need a Spanish title and this career will be complete. I decided to roll without any signings, but I do plan on spending in January. Sportsfreak, thank you for your blessing to buy Pacheco, but in the end I chose to wait. I plan on spending big; inquiring and paying whatever price they name for him plus adding a player to the deal. There was only a week left in the transfer window when I read your post and I figured it was too late to sign him. Betis will be fighting for survival in La Liga and with only one week left in the transfer window I'm positive that regardless of how much money I gave them the CPU wouldn't use it to replace Pacheco. He's one of their top players too so it would really hurt them. Instead I've decided to wait until January and purchase him early in the window so that the CPU has more than enough time to replace him. It will also give me time to see how he has adjusted to La Liga and ultimately see if he has what it takes to join us.
Next month is big for us because the Champions League kicks off, the B-Team will have their first official match, and we also have international Friendlies against India and Uruguay. India will be an opportunity to try out new players and Uruguay will definitely be a heated match seeing as in the World Cup we barely passed to the knockout stage in the last group stage match at Uruguay's expense. To top it off we also have a match against Real Madrid, which will be a good measuring tool to estimate our chances at winning the league. That's all for now. Hope you enjoyed it and
Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
So I have have gotten back into my FIFA playing. just really playing with a ton of teams. I want to start a career mode that will last me until FIFA 16 (hopefully).
I've chosen two teams that I would like to use:
Coventry City - A club with High Prestige in the English system winning an FA Cup in the 80's and being a solid Premier League in the 90's before dropping to League 1. They have been in Administration and had to not play in their proper stadium last season. Coventry have a decent team with young players having a nice potential as well as some decent rated league 1 players. I would be appointed as a new manager to turn a fresh page for the club as the club move back to the Ricoh Arena. I would spend more money on the scouting system than buying players and trying to get the club out of the mess they got into.
Crystal Palace - The London Club just lost Tony Pulis after he left due to the lack of backing in the Transfer Window. I would be appointed after being a long time assistant under the best managers in England. I will sign one or two players and slowly build the London side from a medium London club to a top club in England challenging for trophies and top 4.
So the Straw Poll is listed under, and I'll check the results on Friday.
