    Tiago

Martin Zuñiga suffered a Torn Hip Flexor during training and will be out 3 months. Freddy Martin replaces him in the starting line-up.

    _________________________________

    Clausura 2016 - Game 6
    Puebla - Dorados (4-1)
    Dueñas 31'
    Cejas 40'
    Alustiza 55'
    Torres 59'
    Caceres 87'

Honeymoon (4-game winning streak) OVER. Puebla, who have also gotten off to a good start after a poor Apertura '15, DESTROYED us thoroughly from beginning to end, our only saving grace being Caceres continuing his scoring streak (now at 3 games). A reality-check game for sure and we'll need to get our game together to bounce back.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 7
    Dorados - Toluca (1-2)
    Caceres 24' (Martin)
    Rios 33'
    Uribe 72'

Is reality starting to settle in? Not necessarily, Toluca is one of the strongest teams in the league and they were a playoff team in Apertura 15' but possession in this game was split evenly and we had three times more shots than they did. They were just REALLY efficient with the only two shots they were able to get off in this game and we're on the border of a losing streak.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 8
    Dorados - Cruz Azul (0-0)

Although the score doesn't show it this game was exciting throughout as both teams combined for 20 shots, 10 on goal, with Dorados creating the most opportunities (13/8). However, Jose de Jesus Corona had an outstanding game between the posts for Cruz Azul, collecting 8 hard-earned saves and earning MOM honors.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 9
    U.N.A.M - Dorados (1-1)
    Caceres 31' (Martin)
    Martinez 34'

Fourth consecutive game in which we fail to earn 3 points and we're in danger of finishing February without a win. We put some pressure on the home team with a good advantage in possession (58%) and a good number of shots (8, 5 on goal) but in the end we were only able to earn a point.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 10
    Dorados - America (3-1)
    Morelo 7' (pen)
    Martin 36' (Morelo)
    Caceres 45+' (Martin)

    Benedetto 89'

And back on the winning column we got after a DOMINANT first half, courtesy of our front 3. Caceres just can't stop scoring really but his great form has somewhat overshadowed what has been a great season for Morelo so far. America just wasn't able to create many chances against us and finally got a consolation score near the end.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 11
    Tijuana - Dorados (3-0)
    Kone 33'
    Moreno 63'
    Martin 88'

We're just unable to establish any kind of rhythm right now and it's hard to know whether we're a contender or a pretender. Tijuana sure made us feel like we don't belong but there's really not much I can do right now personnel wise so we'll just have to ride out the storm.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 12
    Dorados - Guadalajara (2-2)
    Chara 10' (Thiago)
    Pineda 45+'
    Caceres 56' (Thiago)
    Brizuela 90+'

Unbelievable. Chivas played us tough and it could had been anyone's game, but for them to equalize the score at the end of each half was truly heart-breaking. About as evenly-played game as you'll ever see, possession was split 50-50 and both teams had 4 shots, 2 on goal.

    Clausura 2016 - Game 13
    Tigres - Dorados (0-1)
    Caceres 34'

Arguably the biggest victory of my career so far. Just for what Tigres represents as an opponent. They were 9 points ahead in the standings going into this game battling for the top spot, they were the Apertura '15 champions, and they boast a roster and budget that makes me envy them. They're also the highest scoring team, so it was an even bigger feat to hold them scoreless, on the road! Hopefully this will put us back on track.

    Top Scorers
    T1 - Caceres (Dorados) - 9
    T1 - Cejas (Puebla) - 9
    2 - Gignac (Tigres) - 8

    Assists
    1 - Moreno (Tijuana) - 5
    T2 - Morelo (Dorados) -3
    T2 - Zuniga (Dorados) - 3

    Clean Sheets
    T1 - Corona (Cruz Azul) - 7
    T1 - Guzman (Tigres) - 7
    2 - Talavera (Toluca) - 5
    ...
    3 - Michel (Dorados) - 4

Review: On one hand, as of my last update we had a chance to be in first place if we won against Puebla (LOL) and now the best we can hope for is 3rd place assuming we win our next game. On the other hand, it's important to remember just how bad this team was in Apertura 15' (refer to my previous update for that) and realize that we're doing pretty damn good considering. At this point we're in the driver seat for a spot in the playoffs which would be an outstanding accomplishment in and of itself. There's also no way I foresaw Anthony Caceres being such a force for us, the Australian is making me kick myself for not making him of a focal point of the team when I was at CCM. It's like he's been playing in the Mexican league his whole life, he's BALLING. Zuñiga's injury has been somewhat of a blessing in disguise as I was already working Martin pretty hard in training and now he's development will speed up even more. He's been a nice piece for us this couple of months and will get at least another month of solid PT before Zuñiga's ready, and at worst he's definitely put himself in the mix for regular PT next season.

A bit of bad news is that our youth scout, Pablo Ramos, had nobody worth signing in his first monthly report from Mexico so that was a bit of a downer as this club could definitely use an infusion of youth talent. We hope future reports will bring better prospects.

There is another important bit of news though ...

    Spoiler

    April Schedule

    - 4/2/16 - vs Veracruz
    - 4/9/16 - at Pachuca
    - 4/16/16 - vs Monterrey
    - 4/23/16 - at Santos Laguna

After that, perhaps some playoff games. Wish me luck!

      The Bluebirds

      February 2016

      February 2, Cardiff City Stadium
      FL Championship: Match 29

      Cardiff City 4-0 Rotherham
      8' 50' 72' (Pen) Vokes, 77' Chalobah

      MotM: Sam Vokes (CAR)

We opened the month with a 4-0 thrashing of Rotherham and Vokes grabbed himself a hat trick. He headed home Noone's corner inside the first 10 minutes and then smashed the ball past the keeper for the second. Noone providing another assist. Vokes completed his hat trick by winning and converting a penalty. He then turned provider for a Chalobah debut goal five minutes later. Dele Alli also made his debut off the bench.

      February 3, Cardiff City Stadium
      FA Cup: Round 4 Replay

      Cardiff City 1-0 QPR
      24' (Pen) Whittingham

      MotM: Sean Morrison (CAR)

A solid 1-0 win was welcomed with Morrison central to the defensive performance. The centre half made 5 clearances, 3 interceptions, 1 block and 1 tackle while also winning 4 of his headers. The game was decided by Whittingham from the spot when Yun Suk Young came through back of Phillips needlessly. Premier League new boys Bournemouth will be our opponents in the Last 16.

      February 6, Stadium mk
      FL Championship: Match 30

      MK Dons 2-2 Cardiff City
      11' 36' Reeves
      15' Alli, 90' Gunnarsson

      MotM: Rubén Blanco (CAR)

MK Dons earned a second draw against us this season with Reeves getting his second and third goals. He was found at the back post for a downward header to give the home side the lead. Alli got us level on his first start, Williams slipping him in and he cut back onto his right to finish. Reeves restored MK Dons' lead after a goalmouth scramble and they held that lead until the final minute. Ameobi put a cross back in after his initial corner was cleared, finding Gunnarsson at the back post for an important equalizer.

      February 9, Cardiff City Stadium
      FL Championship: Match 31

      Cardiff City 0-0 Nott'm Forest

      MotM: Marcelo Barovero (NOT)

Forest keeper Baraovero showed the form that helped his side reach the COC final against all odds. Our best chance came through Iheanacho, the Nigerian hitting the bar from 18 yards with a dipping effort.

      February 14, Vitality Stadium
      FA Cup: Last 16

      Bournemouth 1-2 Cardiff City
      11' OG Morrison
      15' Ince, 62' (Pen) Whittingham

      MotM: Rohan Ince (CAR)

Morrison headed the ball off the crossbar trying to clear it off the line but unfortunately it fell into his own net. Rohan Ince got us back level, Noone slipping him in and the midfielder produced a composed finish. Surman struck the post for Bournemouth before Whittingham converted a spot kick to ensure our passage into the quarter finals.

      February 20, Riverside Stadium
      FL Championship: Match 32

      Middlesbrough 0-2 Cardiff City
      5' Vokes, 90' Macheda

      MotM: Rubén Blanco (CAR)

Sam Vokes made use of Whittingham's through ball to smash one past Konstantopoulos before Macheda added a second in the final minute. Konstantopoulos went up for the corner and Blanco claimed before punting it up field to Macheda. The Italian controlled it on his chest rounded the defender and put it into the empty net from long range.

      March 2016

      Match 5, Portman Road
      FL Championship: Match 33

      Ipswich 1-4 Cardiff City
      16' Murphy
      24' Whittingham, 28' 77 Vokes, 83' Williams

      MotM: Sam Vokes (CAR)

Murphy arrived at the back stick to slide home the opener but the lead was short lived as Whittingham slotted the equalizer away. Vokes then turned the defender before scoring to flip the game on its head. Vokes added a spectacular overhead kick from a Phillips cross and substitute Williams rounded off a convincing win.

      Match 12, Turf Moor
      FL Championship: Match 34

      Burnley 1-1 Cardiff City
      27' Barnes
      14' Vokes

      MotM: Rubén Blanco (CAR)

Vokes struck the first blow against his former club to bring his total to 12 league goals. Barnes equalized soon after after some intricate passing from Burnley. We went on to hit the bar twice, through Noone and Whittingham, and Vossen managed to somehow hit the bar from six yards out in the last minute for the home side.

      March 14, Molineux Stadium
      FA Cup: Quarter Final

      Wolves 0-0 Cardiff City

      MotM: Carl Ikeme (WOL)

Carl Ikeme was the sole reason that this game ended level, the Nigerian keeper performing extremely well in between the sticks for Wolves. We are taken to yet another replay, except this time we only have a days rest.

      March 16, Cardiff City Stadium
      FA Cup: Quarter Final Replay

      Cardiff City 2-0 Wolves
      52' (Pen) Whittingham, 77' Kennedy

      MotM: Peter Whittingham (CAR)

The replay was more like it with a returning Whittingham putting in a Man of the Match display to help us advance into the Semi Finals. The captain won his penalty and then put in Kennedy for the second.

      March Cardiff City Stadium
      FL Championship: Match 35

      Cardiff City 1-1 QPR
      42' Vokes
      4' Chery

      MotM: Fabio (CAR)

QPR caught us cold and cut our defence open with Chery supplying the finish. A superb cross from Fabio gave Vokes a simple header to level it just before halftime. Neither side created many clear cut chances in the second half and it ended 1-1.

      March 26, Cardiff City Stadium
      FL Championship: Match 36

      Cardiff City 1-1 Preston
      21' (Pen) Whittingham
      87' Keane

      MotM: Rubén Blanco (CAR)

Whittingham tucked away an early penalty after Ince was brought down. But a defensive mistake late on would mean that Keane leveled it with three minutes remaining.

      March 29, iPro Stadium
      FL Championship: Match 37

      Derby County 1-3 Cardiff City
      5' Mason, 83' Christie s/o
38' Gunnarsson, 48' Macheda, 79' (Pen) Le Fondre

      MotM: Aron Gunnarsson (CAR)

Mason came back with a bang scoring inside five minutes, out of respect he did not celebrate. Gunnarsson had us level before halftime with a quick turn and finish inside the area. He turned provider just after the break teeing up Macheda for a shot that took a big deflection. Le Fondre buried a penalty that Macheda earned to secure the win before Christie hacked down Macheda for a straight red to compound matters for Paul Clement's side.

A successful two months sees us move up three places into third, four points off Sheffield Wednesday and a further point behind league leaders QPR. In April we will be looking to solidify our top six position before setting our eyes on automatic promotion. We are in a rich vein of form and we can only hope for it to continue into the final two months of the season. We have an FA Cup semi final to look forward to as well and a final appearance coupled with a promotion would be the icing on the cake.

All our league games are winnable while we have our showdown with West Ham on the 16th with a good amount of rest in between, so we can't complain about a fixture congestion. Our target is maximum points and well, anything can happen in the cup. Will we be getting some the FA Cup magic?

      Thanks for Reading!

You kept up your steamrolling and had 3 solid clean sheets. Wellenreuther looks like he could have a lot of room to grow due to his age and decent overall already. Better keep hold of him!

A real shaky start to the month before you pulled it together and stopped the slide against America. Tough to lose 3-0 next time out and then concede a 90th minute equalizer. Always good to end of a win though and Caceres has been scoring freely. Glad to see you take on Venezuela again and you started with two solid wins leaving you in a great position to qualify for the World Cup!

Great episode! Heartbreak with the way the final turned out but that's football I guess. Dybala is back! Incredible technical skills, pace and finishing. He could really take you guys to the next level if he can get scoring. In regards to your midfielders, Goretzka would be my first choice because he's so well rounded and would fit well alongside the powerhouse Kouyate. Kondogbia would be second choice because I like the prospect of two powerhouses in the midfield rather than someone like Ozyakup who I feel would unbalance the team a bit, especially if Payet is further forward. Waiting for the next episode.

Hey guys, sorry about not posting any of my Betis CM in a while. Those of you who followed me last year know that I had a battle with Cancer(Which I beat). Well I just found out that my niece has the cancer that I beat last year. I haven't been in the mood to play FIFA really since I found that out. I will be posting my CM again soon, I just need time to regain my composure after that bombshell was dropped on me.

                TRANSFER REVIEW

Making full use of the loan system, I've managed to put together a team that should claim an automatic promotion spot. It won't be easy with the likes of Cardiff, Derby, Hull and Queens Park Rangers all boasting squads that are as good as ours or better, but I'm willing to bet that we'll make it.

Key players: Ings, Sturaro, Labyad, Dunk, Bong, Sergio Rico

                MATCH REVIEW

Four wins from five league games and two wins in the cup mean we're off to a flying start. Ince has been the surprise package of the season. With his overall raised +2 thanks to some early training, he's been able to run the midfield alongside Sturaro in a traditional 4-4-2 formation. The signing of Akpa Akpro offers a level of versatility in midfield that Ince can't provide, but it's so reassuring to know he's waiting as a very capable backup in central midfield or central defence should one of our first-choice players in those positions be hit by lengthy injury, suspension or serious loss of form.

Despite the disappointing loss to Middlesbrough, we came back to record a thumping win at Cardiff. It's still early doors, so a loss here and there won't mean the end of the world so long as we keep ourselves up in the top 6 throughout the first half of the season. I don't expect to make any signings in January, primarily due to a lack of funds. The main order of business will be to tie Ince down to a long-term extension once I raise sufficient funds.

Going ahead, I will be posting results on a month-by-month basis. Match reports will be accompanied by post-match comments from the manager and the man of the match (if a Brighton player). Hope you guys enjoy!

I'm so sorry to hear this, mate. I really hope she gets better soon. With an uncle as tough as you by her side, I'm sure she'll be back to her usual self in no time. In the meanwhile, be with your family. Do the things that make you happy. FIFA isn't nearly as important as any of those other things. Blessings and love from Moscow.

A massive overhaul, but one that ultimately improved the squad. It's now a very strong squad, possibly stronger than mine at Cardiff so you should definitely be in with a chance of automatic promotion. Sturaro and Ings were huge loan signings and should be a level above most players in the Championship. Wilson was also a coup and should score plenty up top with Ings. I was actually going to mention Ince to you. He's been incredible at Cardiff with me. Grown to a 72 and is a great athlete. His H/H work rates means he gets forward at the right times, especially with the Stay Back on Attack instruction. He has great strength and if you train his tackling stats up a bit more he can win the ball back easily and then is able to distribute it fairly well. So definitely tie him down!

Sportsfreak: I echo Indi, it's dreadful to have to experience cancer in your family again so soon. But if you beat it, she can definitely beat it. Everyone is thinking of her! Come back and tell us she's better!

vrabbit: I'm loving the Dorados career. Playing in Mexico is so cool. Caceres is doing really well and looks like he could lead you into the playoffs. The results are pretty scattered, but for this club it's more than respectable.

Keano: Semifinals of the FA Cup and pushing for automatic promotion. That's awesome. The schedule for April doesn't look that bad, even the West Ham game is certainly winnable. Looking forward to what's next, good luck!

The season is looking quite good at the minute alright, especially after a dodgy start. April had some nice fixtures and anything could happen in the cup. I should have the April and May updates up at some stage tomorrow when I finish the season. So you won't have to wait long!

CDM Alexandr Sapeta, 70 Ovr, 26 years old, Russia

Central defensive midfielder Alexandr Sapeta continued his superb form for FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast and manager Vadim Skripchenko in February. The 26-year-old bagged a brace in a 2-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar and added another goal in a shocking 4-0 win over Zenit St. Petersburg. Along with two Man of the Match performances, Sapeta has FC Ural in serious contention for a European spot next season.

                          Manager's Thoughts
I really thought we deserved a draw against CSKA Moscow, but some tremendous efforts from Bibras Natcho and Ahmed Musa had us leave the capital with nothing. Needing to maintain our form to stay in the top 5, we put out a solid effort in a 2-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar. However, it was the 4-0 win over Zenit St. Petersburg at the Petrovsky Stadium that has my mind blown. We were confident coming into the match, but I can't say I expected that result. Currently, we are sitting in a Champions League spot, but the RFPL table is very tight. Our goal all season has been to finish in a European spot, so we have to continue pushing forward and playing good football.

                          March 2016 - Schedule
                          3/5 - vs Krasnodar
                          3/13 - at Spartak
                          3/25 - vs Rostov
                          3/30 - vs Anzhi*

                          *Russian Cup - Quarterfinals

Our murderous schedule finally winds down with two more massive clashes against FC Krasnodar and Spartak Moscow: two clubs in direct competition with us for those coveted European spots. I could be satisfied with a win and draw in those two matches as we really need to hold both of these sides off. The FC Rostov game is a must-win due to the fact they are at 14th place in the table. They have some good players, but we need a full 3 points in that one. Finally, we close the month out with a Russian Cup Quarterfinals clash with Anzhi Makhachkala. I want to advance as far as we can in the cup, so this match will be a top priority as well.

                            April 2016

                            April 2, Griffin Park
                            FL Championship: Match 38

Whittingham swung in a corner which Ince tapped down to Phillips and the Scottish international turned, before volleying it into the net. Iheanacho had the chance to add to the lead with the last attack but he scuffed his lines and shot wide.

                            FL Championship: Match 39

                            Cardiff City 1-2 Bolton
                            59' Iheanacho
                            26' Walker, 35' Bruin

                            MotM: Kelechi Iheanacho (CAR)

Bolton scored with both of their shots on target, their second a terrible attempt at a save from Blanco. The first goal came when the ball was headed back across the six yard box for Walker to volley home. The second was also a cross and header, Bruin heading it straight at Blanco but somehow it deflected off him and into the net. Iheanacho got us a goal back, brilliantly volleying Ameobi's cross into the bottom right corner. A real disappointing loss as we had the opportunity to close the gap between ourselves and the top two, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday.

                            7' Vokes, 54' Phillips
                            89' Payet

                            MotM: Matthew Kennedy (CAR)

An amazing result which means we have a final showdown against Manchester United to look forward to in May. We got off to a flying start with Vokes heading in a Fabio cross just seven minutes into the game. Ogbonna's positioning was all over the place and he mistimed his jump meaning that Vokes had a free header. We added a second after the break. Phillips started and then finished a deadly counter attack after a West Ham corner. Moose's star player Dimitri Payet pulled a late goal back after intricate play around our box, Zarate flicking it around the corner for a first time rocket from the Frenchman.

                            78' Wilbraham
                            22' 80' Vokes, 90' Williams

                            MotM: Sam Vokes (CAR)

We welcomed back Daniel Amartey who has finally recovered from his injury. A Vokes brace set us on the way to victory. His first came after some nice passing and Whittingham played the killer ball for the striker to score. Wilbraham equalized with 12 minutes to go, heading in the rebound off a terrific edge of the box header. Vokes would get us back in front, beating his man to the cross from John to head home a 15th league goal. Williams put the icing on the cake when Pilkington picked him out on a corner.

                            Huddersfield 2-2 Cardiff City
                            25' Davidson, 83' Vaughan
                            20' 78' Iheanacho

                            MotM: Kelechi Iheanacho (CAR)

Iheanacho was given a chance today and he delivered with two well taken goals. Ince played a ball over the top which he controlled and then prodded past the keeper. Poor defending allowed Huddersfield an equalizer before Iheanacho scored again, this time from a Phillips pull back. But Phillips made a crucial mistake, being dispossessed in front of our box when our defence was unorganized. Vaughan took advantage of this and grabbed the hosts a point.

After a fairly successful April we are third in the table with a game in hand on the leaders Sheffield Wednesday. We also have an FA Cup final to look forward to after dispatching Moose's boys in a hard fought win. Middlesbrough and Brighton are both losing ground on the playoffs, now sitting four points off. While it is very tight from third to sixth.

The final month of the season will be a long one with six games in total including a massive match against domestic giants Manchester United who will be desperate to win a trophy under LVG. We should pick up wins against Leeds, Blackburn and Birmingham while Brighton and Wolves will be tougher opponents and both may have a chance of making or staying in the top six. It will certainly be an interesting end to the season.

                            Thanks for Reading!

Tough opening result in what was an even game but Goretzka is a big signing and should be incredible in the future. Possibly Noble's end as a starter? I think that you could use an extra LB but if you're happy with Madine and if he has high potential I'd just use him instead of bringing in someone like Mings. Therefore I'd bank the funds and use them in January or for contract extensions during the season. Great video and added a like for ya as well.
