Post-Match Press Conference
What happened in the most important game against Barcelona?
Firstly, every game against them has been very important for us. As for the game, we did our best. We don't have Real's millions or Barcelona's midfield and attack, but we reached the final and fought till the last whistle. In my opinion The Cules got lucky with the winning goal. Joao (Miranda) and Diego (Godin) were out of position because of our corner and Neymar ended a nice counter attack. Weirdely, he didn't dive.
How about surprising everyone and reaching the CL final AND winning the league?
It feels amazing. I'm really happy, the boys are playing with a smile and they're enjoying playing for us. Ofcourse we train really hard and give 110% in every game. Luckily it pays off. And as for the league title, securing it with three games to go, that's just amazing. But we couldn't have celebrated it for long as we had two finals still to play. But still, it took us 9 years to get the title we'll remember for ever. And I promise, another one is coming really soon!
Do you consider Atletico as a one-year-wonder?
Absolutely not! Just look at what Diego Simeone did before joining the board staff! He won two European cups, the Super Cup against Chelsea, the league last year! Atletico de Madrid is a great club, but it's not noticed too often 'cause of Real Madrid. But I promise, we're on the top to stay!
Real Madrid 0 - 2 Atletico Madrid, CL Final
Costa 23', Reus 45'
Marca: "40 Years of Tears Are Over!"
El Mundo: "Ganchev Who? Winner of the Double!"
El Pais: "Last Year La Decima, now La Cryima"
"After a spectacular win over Real Madrid in the Champions League final, Atletico have finally won the cup after over 40 years of wait! Every Colchonero remembers the shock defeat last year. But now, the tears have turned into smiles. Many thank for the success Atleti's new manager Simeon Ganchev, who took over the club after the defeat in the CL final 2013. What a change has he made! From a defending and tackling machine to a possession holding and attacking monster, Atletico got what they deserved!", wrote Marca.

Harry Wilson: Loan
Luis Alberto: £3.8 million to Sampdoria

FA Community Shield
Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
Ivanovic 73 (og)
A brilliant end to end game was settled with an own goal by Ivanovic. A corner by Gerrard on Iloris head thundered of the bar and as Ilori challenged for the rebound Ivanovic headed into his own net.
Match 1
Liverpool 0-2 Everton
McCarthy 45
Barkley 87
A disappointing result as we had the majority of the shots but Akinfeev played outstandingly making save after save. Fortunately, he has now been sold to Barcelona. McCarthy scored first with a header on the rebound and Barkley settled it, toe poking the ball under Mignolet.
Match 2
Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool
The game was end to end and both keepers played well, Szczesny denying Rakitic on many occasions.
Match 3
Liverpool 4-0 Manchester City
Rakitic 4
Verratti 31
Mangala 52
Suarez 58
This result was more like it. Rakitic opened the scoring after an Ilori header from a corner was saved but Rakitic was there to slide it under Hart. Verratti scored from the edge of the area after a corner was cleared away. He hit it and it swerved into the corner. Mangala got on the end of another rebound, when Suarez's header was saved but he was there to head it into the top corner. Suarez scored the last goal when a Rakitic shot was blocked but Suarez was there to header home.
In short, August contained 4 games against 4 of the best clubs in the country and next month we have 2 more big ones. The draw has not been kind.
Next match: TORQUAY UNITEDComment

Brighton & Hove Albion
Taking Flight
Brighton & Hove Albion is proud to announce that Indiblue will be taking charge of the first team on a permanent basis as of July 1, 2013.
Having moved to the UK with his family at a young age, Indiblue has been tied to English football in a number of capacities since the age of 11 – initially as a fan and more recently as a coach. We are confident that he will be able to help the club achieve its goal of promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
As the first Asian manager of a professional English club, Indiblue will also seek to further the cause and presence of Asian coaches, technical staff and players.
The manager will now take questions from the press.
Indiblue: First of all, I want to say thanks to Tony Bloom, Paul Barber and the rest of the board of directors. I hope to repay your faith in me with plenty of success.
To the fans of Brighton & Hove Albion, I'm looking forward to a wonderful partnership. While results are everything in this league, we understand that you spend your money and come to watch us every weekend expecting to be entertained. We hope make you happy in that respect.
To the media, please take note that I do not entertain questions regarding players from other clubs. I also ask that you do your research before asking potentially idiotic questions. Other than that, feel free to speak about anything you wish.
You're a virtually unknown quantity in English football, let alone Europe. How do you plan to win the fans over?
I: The same way any manager wins over his club's fans – results and performances. I plan to get this team playing a brand of football that's both pleasing to the eye and effective on the pitch. We have the right personnel to get started, but it will be some time before we can say that the project is in full swing.
Why have you chosen Brighton as your first job? Wouldn't a club further down the ladder be more ideal for someone such as yourself?
I: I would love to say that I chose this club, but the truth is that they chose me. I was in fact quite lucky to even get a chance to impress what I think is a very intelligent, ambitious and resourceful board of directors. That they saw fit to entrust me with the immediate and possibly long-term future of this wonderful club is a matter of great pride for me.
It's never easy making the enormous leap from assistant coach to manager, especially when your previous job profiles required you to focus on more technical aspects of the game such as scouting and fitness. I'd like to think that I picked up some wonderful lessons working behind the scenes for some of the most successful managers in world football, and I hope to use my experiences to lead Brighton to the kind of success I've seen other teams enjoy.
Is promotion a realistic target for this season?
I: I shouldn't see why not. An important part of immediate success at any club is having the right mix of players. We've got experienced gentlemen like Matthew Upson, promising young lads like Liam Bridcutt and Will Buckley, and a wonderful captain in Gordon Greer. I think with one or two additions to the team, we will really be able to give promotion a proper go.
You obviously won't reveal much, but I'll ask anyway. What's your vision for this club?
I: You're right, but I'll tell you what I can. In the short-term, all our energies will be focused on first securing promotion to the Premier League. After that, we will have to act intelligently to ensure that we stay there. Once the foundation for a future in the top flight is laid, we can work on building a team to win trophies. The board and I agree that we'd like to rely primarily on our academy for a steady supply of talent.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Sorry that this is off topic, I couldn't find the thread for it. I just bought fifa 14 for ps4 digitally. The downloading the game and the update was fine. I then loaded up the game and the only option is "Kick Off." There is a message saying that the is 5:34 or something like that left to download and it either stays there or moves backwards.

Reading F.C.
After Relegation from the Premier League Reading F.C. has brought in a new coach to turn the club around and return to the top division of English Football. Reading has decided to take a risk on a up and coming manager from the United States, Scott Redding. With a starting transfer budget of 8.5M Redding begins his mission to return Reading back to the EPL.
Transfers In:
Memphis Depay 6.25M
Michael Bradley 7M
Declan John 500k
Elber 1.2M
W. Bridge 400k
D. Williams 1.7M
Transfers Out:
A. McCarthy 3.8M
S. Morrison 875K
D. Guthrie 1.6M
G. McCleary 925K
A. Le Fondre 1.7M
J. Kebe 650k
J. Tabb 650k
Press Conference
Redding: It is an honor and a privilege to have a chance to manage Reading F.C. I want to thank the board for having faith in me to return this club back to where it belongs, in the Premier League. I would like to open the floor to questions now.
Question: Why do you think the board believed you were the right manager for the job?
Redding: I came into my interview with a clear and concise vision on what this club should be, and a plan laid out on how to get there. The board recognized that I wanted the same things they wanted and appreciated the vision I had on how to get there. I will not disappoint either them, or the fans.
Question: Do you believe a return to the Premier League is an attainable goal in your first season in charge?
Redding: Of course. The board wouldn't have brought me in if I believed anything else. We have a shared vision of Reading being a Premier League club. I expect nothing less, the board expects nothing less, and the supporters should expect nothing less.
Question: You have already made a few signings, which ones do you expect the most immediate return from?
Redding: I expect a return from every player I purchase. But, to save some time, I would highlight Memphis Depay and Michael Bradley. Memphis is a special player and has a total package that will win the supporters over very quickly. As an American, I have spent many hours watching Michael Bradley play. His work ethic is unrivaled, and he is the kind of player that can come in and contribute for any club, regardless of the league.
Redding: Thank you everyone for your time. I am looking forward to a successful year.Comment

Season 2, Episode 1: Squad Report and Transfer Targets
In this episode we open up the new season and go through a squad report to assess the team. We then go through the possible transfer targets for the upcoming season.
I would love to hear feedback from you guys towards my transfer targets for the season, as well as hear who you think would be a good fit for the squad! Like I say in the video I'm mainly looking for a new starter at LB, plus depth and cover at the wings and in another ST as well.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Turan was playing LM in the 4-4-2 holding.
Also, thanks for the suggestions, guys! Now I'm trying to decide if I want Reus for €33m or Draxler for €16.5m. There's a huge difference in the price, but I feel like Reus would be better. He's faster, higher overall and better at basically everything except crossing. He's also a better attacker. But Draxler is a lot cheaper, and his important stats are like 4 worse than Reus'. Hmm... I'll probably get Reus. Thanks for the help!
Just wondering, why the 4-4-2 Holding instead of Atletico's default 4-2-2-2 formation?Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I always go with latest. The only reason I would go with default would be in a scenario where a player I liked had massive potential in default, but then lost it in the updates. Or a default youth player with great potential but the team IRL didn't call him up before the last update so EA took him out of the game. What are your reasons to be on the fence about it?Comment
