Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
two-part question:
1) Has anyone had a player (striker, in this case) become insecure in the game (no, really).
2) If so, has it really affected his game on the pitch? (that you have noticed).
One of my strikers in my Dagenham CM, Rhys Murphy, is apparently feeling insecure after not having scored a goal in any game so far (around 10 games including league and cups). Just wondering if this is something I need to be concerned about. I hadn't even noticed this until it was brought up in the game because IMO he's been active in games.
I think there's a slight adjustment to shot error with that player, but that's it. Best way to break it is to try and win a penalty and let the guy bang it in, or just force the chances his way, but that might cost you the game.
In fact, Bendtner's going through the doldrums right now. That's a bit of a complicated issue for me as I first doubted he'd be good for my system, then he had a few good games, but now it's looking like a flash in the pan. Very seriously considering offloading him in the summer and picking up Lukaku, whose contract is expiring at the end of the season, on the cheap.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I'm reading them, but just didn't mention it as nothing massive has happened there yet. Keep going, but do add the league table at the end of each update so we know where you are.Comment

Also as Indi said, adding the league table would be greatly appreciated! It makes it much easier for us to follow your team and start rooting for you when we know what spot you are in and who you are fighting against the get certain spots.Comment

Yes! I love how you recap how the goals were scored of each game. I thought about doing that before but then I can't remember how I scored them half the time!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Brighton & Hove Albion
Taking Flight
November 2015
Liverpool 0-0 Brighton
Man of the match: Jose Reina
Very little to speak of in terms of Liverpool's attacking intent, but Brighton get forward in abundance and register 18 shots, all 7 on target being saved by Pepe Reina.
Brighton 1-0 Everton
Mutch 41'
Man of the match: Joel Robles
Everton show why they are flirting with relegation as they fail to make the best of several chances. Ross Barkley is the Toffees' best player as he registers their only shot on target, while at the other end Robles does well to save everything that comes his way except one effort by Mutch.
Brighton 2-1 West Ham
Hajrovic 45' (pen.), Depay 62'
Maiga 49'
Man of the match: Jonathan
Jonathan wins a penalty during injury time in the first half, and Hajrovic tucks it away with a cheeky chip. West Ham pile on the pressure after the break, and Matt Jarvis plays an exquisite cross into the box that Modibo Maiga gets his head onto and nudges past Forster. Brighton are spared the agony of dropped points when Cresswell dribbles past three man and lays the ball off to Depay, who takes on touch before firing the ball across the goalmouth and into the inside netting.
Fulham 2-2 Brighton
R. Williams 63', Sidwell 75'
Cresswell 29', Aranguiz 83'
Man of the match: Kerim Frei
Brighton start well, keeping the ball and playing neat passes before Buckley dribbles down the left wing, cuts in on his right, and lays off to Cresswell after a dummy shot. The left back is in an ideal position and simply smashes the ball forward, and it rises into the top of the net. Frei then racks up two assists for Fulham, playing a couple of wonderful through balls for Ryan Williams and Steve Sidwell to slot home. Aranguiz kept the Seagulls' undefeated league record alive with a late miracle goal, picking up a rebound outside the box and turning deftly before hitting and arcing shot past a helpless David Stockdale.
QPR 0-2 Brighton (Capital One Cup)
Hajrovic 22', Sanogo 89'
Man of the match: Izet Hajrovic
Hajrovic scores a brilliant opener with his weaker right foot from the edge of the box, giving Brighton a strong start. QPR are unable to penetrate the best defense in England, and in the dying embers of the game, Hajrovic plays a through ball to Sanogo. The Frenchman takes one touch and then lets loose a thundering shot that rises up, hits to crossbar, and falls in for a goal. Brighton are through to the semifinals of the league cup, where they will play two legs against Sunderland.
November 2015
Cup: Reached the semifinals of the Capital One Cup
League: 8/12 points
Indiblue's analysis: I suppose 15 games into the season, you can't really say that it's a fluke anymore. We have the talent to contend for the league title, though it's not something any of us expected at the start of preseason. We've just been playing to our strengths, and we will continue to take things one game at a time. I'm glad to be in to the semifinals of the cup, a couple of these lads are familiar with Wembley and we will be working hard to make sure we play in the showpiece fixture.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Just got myself pumped up by finding an article about Deportivo's miracle Champions League run to the semi-finals in 2003/04. Also found some good background information on the club as well regarding the past successes. Only 5 teams have won La Liga since 1985, Deportivo being one of them winning it in 2000, as well as finishing runner up in 2001 and 2002.
Time to return the Blanquiazules’ to their former glory!
Sounds like me when I looked up Wimbledon videos. Makes you really get behind the team!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I'm reading your updates as well! Especially since I was in the same place you are last season. I'd like to see the league table added in the updates too. I add the promotion playoff zone and relegation zone. Basically, all the teams in green and then the 3/4 teams in red. If you're not in either of them just add your position in the middle.
Keep updating man! And that goes for everyone. I'm reading everything that goes through here. Especially when I'm at work hahaComment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Your Dagenham updates have more details, but that's because in Alarcon you're updating for Venezuela as well so it's cool! I'd like to see the bottom side of the table, just to make sure my Wimbledon is staying away from theregreat updates so far!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
ROAD TO RECOVERY
SEASON 1
Match 35
Coventry 4-1 Carlisle
Baker 20
Wilson 28
Eccleston 47
Fleck 73
Robson 81
Absolute domination, we took the lead through an effort struck hard and low into the bottom corner by our captain, Baker. Wilson headed in the second and just after the break, substitute Eccleston smashed in a long ball forward. Fleck curled in from the edge of the box before Robson smashed in a consolation.
Match 36
Colchester 2-2 Coventry
Razak 21
Wright 45
Watt 58
Seaborne 77
Razak gave us the lead after playing a brilliant one-two with Eccleston, dragging into the corner to finish it. Wright equalised smashing it in and a scrappy finish by Watt gave them the lead. Seaborne headed us level but we were let off when Colchester missed a clear cut opportunity. The draw meant that Wolves overtook us on goal difference, despite them having played a game less.
Match 37
Coventry 0-0 Peterborough
An end to end match but neither side could finish. Also, Fleck picked up an injury that would rule him out for 3 weeks.
Match 38
Bristol City 1-3 Coventry
Baker 15
Nunez 26
Moussa 37
Wilson 84
Baker opened the scoring after rounding the keeper, cheekily chipping down the middle into the empty net. Nunez equalised with a thunderbolt from the edge of the box. Moussa smashed in to regain the lead before Wilson headed in the third. Unfortunately, the injury plague continues as Baker is out for 2 months.
Match 39
Coventry 2-1 Preston
Wilson 5
Eccleston 57
Beavon 89
Wilson volleyed in early on from a McGeouch cross before substitute Eccleston whacked in from close range. Beavon headed one back and they hit the bar in the last minute but we held on.
Match 40
Oldham 0-1 Coventry
Moussa 85
After a relatively dull game, late on the ball broke clear and Moussa ran onto it, expertly dinking it over the on-rushing keeper.
League Table
Coventry City 87
Wolves 85 (Game in hand)
Peterborough 79
Leyton Orient 75
Bristol City 73
Preston 73

ROAD TO RECOVERY
SEASON 1
Match 41
Coventry 1-2 Wolves
Wilson 7
Edwards 33
Dicko 50
Wilson headed us in front after getting on the rebound of his own volley. Unfortunately, Edwards found space to smash in and when Willis had a mix up with Murphy Dicko capitalised. That mistake may have cost us the league title.
Match 42
Walsall 1-3 Coventry
Martial 12
Baxendale 32
Clarke 40
Fleck 63
Martial ran clear and smashed in early on before a rash challenge by Christie saw him sent off and Baxendale smashed in the free kick. Clarke ran forward from defence to smash in before Fleck curled in to wrap it up.
Match 43
Coventry 2-0 Tranmere
Thomas 9
Martial 80
Thomas smashed in from the edge of the box to give us the lead. Nothing much happened until substitute Martial ran clear and smashed in at the near post.
Match 44
Coventry 3-0 Bradford
Delfouneso 28
Delfouneso 53
Wilson 68
Delfouneso got his first goals back from injury through a header and a ball that he ran onto before smashing into the top corner. Wilson volleyed in expertly from the edge of the box after a stray cross by McGeouch.
Match 45
Coventry 3-2 Notts County
Moussa 15
Bell 32
Thomas 51
Ball 61
Fleck 68
Moussa hit the ball hard and low into the corner to give us the lead before Bell headed in the equaliser. After half time, Thomas picked up the ball and drove at the defence before smashing in, but Bell equalised again 10 minutes later. Wilson then won a penalty which Fleck had saved, but he tucked away the rebound. What a thriller.
