Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Real Madrid Castilla Hires New Boss.
Jose Mourinho Jr. has been named the boss at RM Castilla. After the announcement was made, Jose Mourinho himself resigned from Chelsea and came over to RM Castilla full time to be the assistant. With the Mourinho's now being in charge at RM Castilla, can they make a push for promotion?
SKY SPORTS NEWS
Mark: Take a seat, Mr. Mourinho Sr. and Mr. Mourinho Jr.
Mark: So, Mr. Mourinho Sr. we'll start with you. What was the news like that your son got the job at RM Castilla?
Mourinho Sr.: It was great. It was probably the best news I've ever gotten as far as football is concerned, although not the best overall news. Family before everything.
Mark: Yes, yes, we know how much you do love your family.
Mark: Now to you, Mr. Mourinho Jr., what was becoming the manager like to you?
Mourinho Jr.: It was fantastic. The opportunity was perfect. At this point I am 19 years old and my goalkeeping dream wasn't quite working out. They say the next best thing from playing is managing, and here I am.
Mark: Yes, quite the story. When you were only 14 you signed with Fulham. And now 5 years later here you are managing Real Madrid Castilla. What was the news like when you realized your own father would be your assistant?
Mourinho Jr.: Well, we talked it over for a little less than a week. I told him he should do what he though was best for him. And what he chose was to come help me here at Real Madrid Castilla. For him to do that means the world to me.
Mark: I'm sure it does. Well gentleman, I'm sure you have plenty of work to do with the squad. Tell me real quick Mr. Mourinho Sr., what is the goal this season?
Mr. Mourinho Sr.: Well, you said it right there. To score some goals! Jokes aside, I think we should definitely be able to gain promotion. We are a very good squad, as well as a very young one. We have a lot of potential just like the young man to my right.
Mark: Alright, that'll wrap up the show, come back next time!
I hope you all enjoyed! I will be updating monthly. Have a good night.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
- Keith Carey (ATT, 42-44, 72-78): This 17 Y/O from Scotland is now expected to be an attacker. Has informed the club's board that he wants to cancel his contract as he feels that he's ready to be called up to the senior squad.
Sources tells us that Paez is not inclined to promote Carey at the moment regardless of his demands. With just 7 games remaining this season, each likely to be key in the team's attempt to earn a promotion to League 1, it's unlikely any player from the Youth Academy will be able to contribute at this time.

With the font size, it's a little large--I'd probably use the default font size (I think it's size="2"?) for most text, using size 3 for things you want to emphasize, or maybe size 4 for headings or headlines. Again, this is just my opinion on how I'd make the formatting more aesthetically pleasing to forum users.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Wow, a 42-44 OVR and he wants on the squad...I haven't actually gotten far enough into a career yet to see how youth players progress, but does he actually think he'd get time on the pitch? I mean, he wouldn't even see much time if you loaned him, would he?
Holy cow that's a large update. If I may offer a suggestion, I'd scale down the image a bit, as well as your font size--with the image, it's just way too large, you could probably make it half that size or smaller and it'd be fine. For instance, if you include this HTML tag (removing the spaces at the beginning and end of the tag):
< img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/56/Real_Madrid_CF.svg/732px-Real_Madrid_CF.svg.png" height="350" > , you get this result:

Yeah, I realized after I posted it. I apologize. For the interviews I think I may go size three from now on. Headlines 4 or maybe 5 we'll see how it looks. Normal text will be two.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
End of the first month. It was a transfer month with no games so it went by quick. We sold Pablo for 2 million, and then signed Bryan Carrasco for 1 million + Borja Garcia. I'm going to try and see if I can sign Nathan Ake, and he would be a very nice CB for us to get and develop. Jose Mourinho Jr. signing off, see you next month.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Dagenham - '13-'14 season
March update
First things first. Richard Paez rejected Jagiellonia's job offer as well as a more recent offer from SC Olhanense (who are currently second to last in Liga Portugesa). Ultimately Paez is too invested on what he's got going in east London and has informed his agent that he will not be leaving the club at this time.
Back to the current season, the Daggers have gotten through another eventful month. Did they manage to go through 6 games undefeated? Let's find out
@ Fleetwood Town: 0-0 Draw.
Vs Wimbledon: 3-0 Win.
@ York City: 1-0 Win.
@ Exeter City: 1-1 Draw.
Vs Oxford United: 2-0 Win.
Vs. Plymouth Argyle: 0-1 Loss.
That close. All in all another successful month that, as you will see, has put us at the cusp of clinching a top-7 finish in the league this season. As you may know that is very important as the top 3 teams in the league achieve promotion to League 1 while the 4 remaining teams enter a playoff, the winner of which also obtains promotion to League 1. Not many expected Dagenham to be among the top 7 teams before this season, one would argue the club's board included, so for the Daggers to be able to accomplish that feat maybe as soon as after the next game speaks volumes of the work that Paez has put in this season (and probably further explains why he is rejecting job offers from other teams in Europe.
Football League 2 Standings
TEAM - GP/W/D/L/GF/GA/GD - PTS
1. Dagenham - 39/22/12/5/58/18/+40 - 78pts
2. Portsmouth - 39/22/10/7/70/36/+34 - 76pts
3. Chesterfield - 39/21/12/6/56/31/+25 - 75pts
4. S****horpe Utd - 39/20/12/7/65/39/+26 - 72pts
5. Bury - 39/19/9/11/55/39/+16 - 66pts
6. Cheltenham Tow - 39/18/11/10/62/43/+19 - 65pts
7. Plymouth Argyle - 39/16/16/7/56/41/+15 - 64pts
8. Southend United - 39/17/10/12/56/45/+11 - 61pts
9. Rochdale - 39/18/7/14/51/45/+6 - 61pts
10. Wycombe - 39/17/10/12/50/49/+1 - 61pts
Did I mention Abu Ogogo won Player of the Month for February? Well, he just made it back to back awards after receiving the honors for the month of March. Our Captain and CDM has started every game in every competition for the team so far and has also played nearly every minute as I believe he has only been subbed out once. He's been a rock for the team and I'm happy to see that the media has started to notice his excellent level of play.
Mark Birighitti's loan has expired and he has returned to the Newcastle Jets from Australia. Jordan Seabright once again takes over as the starting goalkeeper. Could another Jordan (Derbyshire) join the squad soon?
No new additions to the squad after the first reports from Germany and Denmark but there are some news regarding the academy.
- Jamie Black (GK, 46-48 OVR, 72-78 POT): An intriguing 16 Y/O prospect from Scotland who stands at 6'7", 194lbs.
- Jordan Derbyshire (GK, 52-56, 82-88): This 16 Y/O kid from England is arguably the better GK prospect. He's 6 inches shorter than Black.
- Xabi Lopez (DEF, 42-44, 69-73): 16 Y/O kid from Spain will be a CG or CDM but I'm disappointed that his potential is so low.
- Keith Carey (ATT, 42-44, 72-78): This 17 Y/O from Scotland is now expected to be an attacker. Has informed the club's board that he wants to cancel his contract as he feels that he's ready to be called up to the senior squad.
- Fabian Torres (MID, 46-48, 72-78): This 16 Y/O from Spain is likely to be a CAM/CM.
- Kagetoki Miyoshi (DEF/MID, 41-45, 78-86): This 15 Y/O kid from Japan ia someone we're very excited about.
* Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.
Sources tells us that Paez is not inclined to promote Carey at the moment regardless of his demands. Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
AD Alcorcon - '16-'17 Season Update
SpoilerThe calendar just reached May of 2017 and we'll have 7 games this month before the season (hopefully) ends. There have been 4 games since the last update. We battled to a 1-1 against Granada and then had a disappointing 1-1 draw against last place Lugo where we were losing for most of the game. Although we beat Mirandes 1-0 in the next game I wouldn't really call it a bounce back, but the team definitely looked like the contender it has been all season in a 2-0 win over RM Castilla where Miguel score two amazing goals. As he's replacing the best player on the team we need more performances like that from him.
Standings (after 35 games)
1. RCD Mallorca - 78pts
2. AD Alcorcon - 74pts
3. Granada CF - 73pts
4. Sporting Gijon - 65pts
5. UD Las Palmas - 64pts (36 GP)
6. RM Castilla - 60pts
7. UD Almeria - 59pts
8. Real Murcia CF - 59pts
Of course this time of the season also means we get the best report of the year from the youth squad. I previously posted that roster as follows:
First some bad news. Unnerstall and Bungert made a BIG mistake and demanded to be signed back in April. With their potential in mind the team decided to grant their wish over the risk of possibly losing them ... they both came in at 44 OVRAlas, they have not gotten a single minute with the team so far. They will be listed for loan in hopes that lower rated teams will take them and allow them to develop, but there's a chance that these Germans ruined their careers already. Here's where the rest of the youth squad is at now:
1. Alex Navas (GK, 63-67 OVR, 89-94 Potential)I was really hoping the 16 Y/O from Venezuela would get a bigger boost. As it is he presents me with a difficult situation since I'm not sure I'm ready to hand him starting duties. Since I coach Venezuela I know he's currently a 64 OVR (diving-60, handling-68, kicking-64, reflexes-63, positioning-65, reactions-72). I could definitely loan him out.
2. Badile Salawu (Winger, 64-78, 84-94) A recent signing from Nigeria, this 16 Y/O is immediately one of my top prospects. As he hasn't been on the academy for too long I'd like to have a better idea of where his skills are at before promoting him but he'll probably be on the team at some point next season.
3. Maximilian Knoll (MID, 60-64, 83-89) 16 Y/O from Germany. Projects as a CAM. I hope to keep in the academy for another year but I will bring him up before if he asks.
4. In Sung Jo (Winger, 58-68, 79-93) The only other recent addition to the squad, this one from South Korea. This 15 Y/O has a bright future in our eyes.
5. Florian Nickenig (DEF, 53-57, 75-81) 15 Y/O from Germany. Projects as a CDM/CB. Jumps a bit in the rankings.
6. Patrick Sobiech (MID, 55-59, 74-80) 15 Y/O from Germany. Projects as a CDM.
7. Hiroya Imada (ATT, 56-60, 74-80) 16 Y/O from Japan could very well be a CAM/CF/ST. He's now our top ranked Japanese prospect.
8. Patricio Estrada (RM/RW, 56-60, 74-80) 17 Y/O from Peru who ideally would stay in the academy another year.
9. Hiroya Tamazaki (RM/RW, 58-62, 73-79) 16 Y/O from Japan drops in the rankings a bit. We hope he'll stay in the academy at least another season.
10. Markus Goretzka (DEF, 53-47, 73-79) 15 Y/O from Germany will likely be a CB.
11. Kevin Vrancic (DEF, 52-56. 73-79) 16 Y/O from Germany. I think he may end up being a LB.
12. Adam Lee (DEF/MID, 54-58, 73-79) 16 Y/O from England will be either a CDM or CB.
13. Craig Agyakwa (DEF, 50-54, 67-79) 17 Y/O from England projects as a CB.
14. Simon Mustafi (GK, 53-57, 74-80) 17 Y/O from Germany had much higher potential when first signed. Another year in the academy would serve him well.

AD Alcorcon - '16-'17 Season Update
My last update on this CM was about a week ago so I'm bumping it for reference. As I mentioned in that last update there were 7 games left in the season and here's an update after 4 more games are now off the books.
Cordoba CF - AD Alcorcon (0-1)
Farago '51
Sabadell FC - AD Alcorcon (2-1)
Rubio '44
Edgar Hernandez ' 63
Llorente '66
Hercules CF - AD Alcorcon (0-1)
Yamura ' 44
AD Alcorcon - SD Ponferradina (2-0)
Aguirre '49 (P)
Barraco '90
7 games in one month means I have to rotate guys in and for the game at Sabadell I actually played subs everywhere except at GK (where I currently don't have a sub in the senior squad) and one of the CB spots. I still expected to be able to take at least one point from a team near the bottom of the table so no excuses there, just a bad loss. With 3 games left for us here is how the table looks:
Liga Adelante Standings
TEAM - GP/W/D/L/GF/GA/GD - PTS
1. RCD Mallorca - 40/27/9/4/84/24/+60 - 90pts
2. AD Alcorcon - 39/25/8/6/63/24/+39 - 83pts
3. Granada CF - 39/23/12/4/75/28/+47 - 81pts
4. Sporting Gijon - 40/21/10/9/66/43/+23 - 73pts
5. UD Las Palmas - 40/20/11/9/59/40/+19 - 71pts
6. UD Almeria - 39/20/8/11/62/44/+18 - 68pts
7. RM Castilla - 39/20/8/11/57/40/+17 - 68pts
8. Real Murcia CF - 39/19/9/11/53/44/+9 - 66pts
As you can see Mallorca has all but locked up promotion to La Liga and the only other direct spot comes down to us vs Granada. Once again my inability to have a significant goal differential may bite me in the *** since if we were to finish with the same amount of points Granada's GD would give them the edge over us. Good news here is we have clinched a playoff promotion for the second consecutive season, although we're working hard to avoid those extra games (I refer you towards the bottom of page 212 if you'd like to review the misery I went through at the end of last season).
Here are the remaining schedules for the teams battling for the the last spot for direct promotion to Liga BBVA:
AD Alcorcon's remaining games:
May 17th: @ SD Eibar (17th)
May 20th: @ CD Numancia (12th)
May 27th: Vs. Real Murcia (8th)
Granada CF's remaining games:
May 17th: @ RC Recreativo (13th)
May 20th: Vs Hercules CF (14th)
May 27th: @ Real Jaen CF (21st)
We both just played on May 13th when I beat SD Ponferradina and Granada beat Cordoba CF 3-0.
WISH ME LUCK!!!!Last edited by vrabbit; 07-28-2014, 01:26 PM.vrabbit

The Daggers had the opportunity of clinching promotion at home against Hartlepool and did not disappoint their fans, taking over the game after a very even first half where they seemed nervous, surely the magnitude of the moment hanging over their heads. Richard Paez must have given them a hell of a halftime speech because they flat out dominated the visitors in the second half, celebrating each goal more than the previous one. Scott Doe ran towards the right corner flag after his goal near the end of the game and jumped jubilant as he asked the fan base to join him a celebration. This side of east London may have never rocked quite like in that moment. When the game ended red and white confetti streamed down from the top of the stadium and the players put Paez on their shoulders as they took him around the stadium. It was a moment that will forever be engraved in the history of the club, which moves to Football League One for only the second time in their short 22-year history after a shortly lived stint there in the 2010-2011 season
Paez had a short press conference after the game.
Reporter: Mr. Paez, it doesn't need to be said that this has been an amazing season. Can you describe how you're feeling right now after this accomplishment?
Paez: I cannot put it in words. The way this team has come together, worked together to achieve this goal, is very unique. Everyone on this roster and coaching staff has put in their time, selflessly, to get to where we are now, to achieve this goal, and there is an indescribable beauty to that. I am so proud of everyone on the team but at the same time we want to accomplish bigger things than this so we'll need to regroup soon and maintain focus.
Reporter: You do only have two days off before your next game when you will host York City, will there be any changes to the starting XI?
Paez: For the most part we'll continue to have the same starters. We have accomplished our main goal this season but one of our goals is also to win the league and we're still in position to do that but have Portsmouth right behind us so we can't get complacent now down the stretch.
Reporter: Speaking of Portsmouth, they have now also earned promotion to League One, what are your thoughts on the season they've had?
Paez: Excellent season by them. Andy (Awford) has done an amazing job with that group of players and I believe they are the highest scoring team in the league. I would like to congratulate them on their great season and I look forward to facing off against them in League One next season.
That's all for today boys, as you have pointed out we have a quick turnaround so I have to go celebrate with the team today then turn our focus to York City starting tomorrow. Thank you!
Football League 2 Standings
TEAM - GP/W/D/L/GF/GA/GD - PTS
1. Dagenham - 43/26/12/5/65/19/+46 - 90pts
2. Portsmouth - 43/26/10/7/78/37/+41 - 88pts
3. Chesterfield - 43/24/13/6/63/34/+29 - 85pts
4. Bury - 43/23/9/11/64/42/+22 - 78pts
5. S****horpe Utd - 43/21/14/8/72/42/+30 - 77pts

9. Southend United - 43/18/11/14/58/48/+10 - 65pts
10. Northampton - 43/17/13/13/57/51/+6 - 64pts
With only 9 points on the table 4th place Bury will not be able to catch up to us or Portsmouth which is how we have clinched promotion to League One before the season ends. Obviously I'm stoked about this accomplishment
Looking over at the League One standings Stevenage will be one of the team's delegated to League Two while Oldham Athletic, Port Vale, and Crawley Town (in that order) are the next ones on the chopping block, each separated by 3 points with only 2 games left. I will have a bigger update with champions around Europe and promotions/delegations in my next update which will be the end of season update.
We do have some news in our Youth Academy as Keith Carey indeed cancelled his contract after the team didn't meet his demands to sign him to the senior squad. There has also been an addition to the Y.A. from Germany.

- Stefan Reichel (DEF/MID, 39-49, 65-83)*: 15 Y/O from Germany is the newest addition to the squad.
* Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.

4. Bury - 43/23/9/11/64/42/+22 - 78pts
5. S****horpe Utd - 43/21/14/8/72/42/+30 - 77pts
6. Cheltenham Town - 44/21/13/10/72/45/+27 - 76pts
7. Plymouth Argyle - 43/17/18/8/59/44/+15 - 69pts
8. Rochdale - 43/19/9/15/55/49/+6 - 66pts
- Fabian Torres (MID, 46-48, 72-78): This 16 Y/O from Spain is likely to be a CAM/CM.
- Kagetoki Miyoshi (DEF/MID, 41-45, 78-86): This 15 Y/O kid from Japan ia someone we're very excited about.
- Stefan Reichel (DEF/MID, 39-49, 65-83)*: 15 Y/O from Germany is the newest addition to the squad.
* Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.
That's it for now!
Awesome!!! Congratulations man! Portsmouth and chesterfield were promoted from League 2 with me as well, while Plymouth won the playoffs. Lets see if it repeats itself again!
I remember Derbyshire and Black were a lot closer when they first signed up but now it's very clear Derbyshire is the better player and might even be good enough to compete with Seabright right off the bat! Are you still in April or have you passed May 1st already?Comment
